Electronic Safeguard Gate doesn't hold back paparazzi

I thought the gate was meant to hold back fans and paparazzi. But the last one just opens it and walk down the garden. Is that normal?

I've had problems with one of my gates holding back anyone and the other working exactly the way it should.   I think in order for the gate to work the way we think it should, it has to be a part of a fence that encloses the entire yard.   In my Artie's Dynasty, I have the gate to the side and there is still an open space to the side of the house so I just lock the gate to everyone but my household.   It is possible to also set it as a front door.  So just give that a try.

When I have a party, I just unlock the gate and wait for everyone to leave to relock it.

Did you check if there isn't a small opening in your fence? It once happen to me lol.

Yes, you can indeed. I must have misread that. But that didnt hold them back.

Calling people? Did they really and did they obey? They must be thinking: "If I can't go to you, you have to come to me." If that only would work in real life than being a paparazzi would be a very profitable job.
But I have to lock my hate to pets as we'll, to make sure my vegetables are safe from those hungry herbivores. Is that maybe why makes it not working for me?

Yeah, they stand at my gate, randomly calling people on their cell phones. They talk to them, and thought bubbles come up just like they do when my sims call someone. I always think when they do that, "Aw, they're calling their boss to tell him I'm not co-operating with them." Lol nothing happens though.

I think the pets option should work too, as paparazzi are sims, not pets. Pests, yes but it should work.

Does it have the option to lock it like most gates I make to keep my sims horses in?  You should probably try that if it has the options.
