I use the time as an infant to get the best friend requirement taken care of.   A few strolls, some snuggles and perhaps a hour or two in a rocking chair will have the baby burrito one requirement ready as soon as they get turned into toddlers.   Also another tip would be to only ever get pregnant around 10 PM or 2200.  This way you give birth just before midnight and you are one day closer to aging them up which thankfully can be done right after midnight in about 48 hours.

Ooh, that timing thing is a great tip!  I will definitely be using all of this.  Thanks!! :)

K, another question.  Are the vacation days cumulative?  The spreadsheet seems to imply that each heir can travel for seven days max, but the phrasing in the rules sounds like if no one travels, heir 3 can go for 21 days max.

The Spreadsheet was made before the rule about travelling changed.    I may have to look into getting that changed.

The new rule for travel is you get 7 days with each generation.   And they do accumulate but for each gen a day is spent when they go.  So yes - Gen 3 could go to Uni and use 21 days but Gen 1 and Gen 2 would not be allowed to go with them.

Do IFs count as household children?  Meaning - can I make real the IFs belonging to spares without breaking rules?

The IFs of spares can't be made real. They don't count as household children because they're not related to the family proper, which makes IFs only able to be made real when you're intent on them being an heir's spouse (and after said heir is a YA).

Trip is absolutely correct.   IFs are not children/spares (which are the only thing allowed other than spouses) or else they'd be on the family true.

What if I wanted to use a Spare's IF as a spouse for the heir?

You just can't. It has to be the heir in question who brings in their spouse, and they can't bring a sibling's IF to life.

If you random roll an incompatible trait (one that you can take because it conflicts with a trait you already have) when you get the degree or reputation trait, are you allowed/supposed to random roll again until you have a trait you can accept? Or is it a loss? I ask because on one of my test attempts my founder who is inappropriate random rolled proper and didn't receive the trait when she hit accept.

I've never had this happen.  When it happens, consult the team.   The truth is we all played Sims 3 for 3 years with only 5 traits so I'm not sure it matters in the long run.  But since it's hypothetical I won't give an answer.   When it comes into practice and you're at a screen that gives you a trait that is obviously incompatible PM me, yahoo IM me, come post here and I'll give a verdict.

I think as soon as I get a chance to sit at the computer I'll do some testing beacuse as I said - I've never seen it.  I have seen the game not give traits a lot though.  So was it the old not give a trait glitch or because it was incompatible.  I won't know until it's been tested.

Can you be more specific? Are you asking if that is the only opportunity? Because it is not.

If I'm reading correctly, it sounds to me like she's asking if the Ballet/Scouting awards ceremony can count as the child's opportunity. Which is a yes.
