CAP - Pattern Glitch Work-around
« on: May 04, 2013, 09:44:31 AM »
For the longest time I haven't been able to work out why any of the patterns I made with CAP would stay in my game properly. Searching did not reveal why I was having the problem. I was only able to have one at a time. Then, as I was trying to find out how to make a non-CAStable pattern, I found out! CAP (not sure if there's an updated version) doesn't assign a new number to the patterns that I make. SO, if I clone my patterns with s3oc, They will finally work!

EDIT: Now I can't work out how to open them in s3oc :( Unless someone knows another way to fix it?

EDIT 2: Happy dance! I finally worked it all out. s3oc doesn't do patterns. Open the pattern in S3PE, then open the _IMG resource, give it a name, and hit the FNV64 button to give it a new instance ID. Next, open the _XML that has the type 0x0333406C in notepad. Find the number 7edd20633162e6ce and replace it with the new Instance ID. Save and exit. Now you can place your pattern in the packages folder :)
