I Deleted My Saved Game!
« on: November 16, 2010, 10:42:53 PM »
I accidentally started up Sims 3, and when it reched the game select screen, I pressed the wrong button, and deleted my favorite save file! Can I get it back? I didn't have any backups. I feel terrible... :'(

Try using these instructions to recover the backup copy.  The game automatically saves a copy for you, but I'm not sure if it will be there after the main game was deleted.  It's worth a try, though.

Also, I'm moving this to the Technical Help board.

Ok, I was poking through my TS3 Folder and found a folder called Foster Mother.sims3.backup. That's the name of the file I deleted.
Inside were documents called 1a5tf1l3.dat, Meta.data, Sunset Valley_0x0859db3c.nhd,Sunset Valley_0x0859db3cExportDB.package, and TravelDB.package . Can this help me at all?

Yes.  Just delete the ".backup" part.
