Congrats! It is difficult but it's a lot of fun. I would say the most difficult part for me is not pausing the whole time and just letting some of them do whatever.

Before I begin my Dynasty, I was wondering . . . how many days should a Sim life be on Normal? I've never played on Normal (I usually go Epic), so I just wanted to double check to see if that was right!
My dynasty is being temporarily abandoned. The reason? 25% laziness, 25% preoccupation with other Sims families, and 50% an upcoming move to San Antonio.

Normal is 90 Days in total. You'll have to change it from epic to Normal but you can't choose how long each life stage lasts they have to be the default for Normal.

My defaults have been known to mess up, but I set it to default and it's showing 90. All is right with the world.

I usually play epic or  long as well, but 90 days is standard for normal as long as you don't eat any cake (which is not allowed) or you're a vegetarian  :P

Good luck with the challenge! It's been quite fun for me.

Wait, cake?  Are you talking about the Birthday Cakes?  I thought those were allowed on the Sim's actual birthday. . .

Yeah they are! What I ment was that a sim's life is usually 90 days unless shortened by the triggering of birthday through cake which is forbidden u less it's the sims actual birthday hahaha

Yeah... :o

Ok, no worries, it makes sense now!

For a second I was thinking there was some weird item I'd missed!  I suppose that's what I get for posting after midnight when I'm tired. . .

I've started my dynasty! I decided to share it via story on the boards, but now I'm having a difficult time choosing how to continue telling the story. I want to do it in my Founder's point of view, yet I'm not sure how effectively I can work screenshots in with that. I also just kind of want to keep playing xD I've been planning longer than playing.

If I'm starting in Union Cove and have a founder & a dog, how much money do I need to take off 2350 if any?

I just noticed but when I had my Legacy sim, Faye Ravensgate move into the Dynasty Lot she was left with over $2,000. That might need checking though, she didn't have a dog either.

You just have to use the familyFunds cheat to bring your starting funds down to $1800.
To do this you use:
Ctrl+Shift+C (brings up blue panel across top)
Type:  testingcheatsenabled true
Ctrl+Shift+C
Type:  familyFunds [family last name] [1800]
Your money should reduce to 1800.

Yeah but don't you usually get a little money to help with the pets?

You get more money with pets so no need to take any money off
