Parties not showing up in town?

I have the expansions University, Seasons, Supernatural and Island Paradise.
My current Sims are living in Moonlight Falls.
Everything was fine until suddenly parties stopped working.
by that I mean my Sim would get invited to a party
I would go to the map and usually there is a party symbol on the house where the party is
when i look on the map there is no party symbol anywhere
 I then just go to the house of the party throwers but sometimes the people aren't even there!
If they are I go into the house all ready for the party
but then while I'm still at the house I get a notification saying I missed the party!
This happened once when i first started the game but then it was fine, and now its starting again
It's really getting me aggravated.
Does any one have any suggestions?

I have the same thing happening in my game.  Additionally, one of my Sims can't even throw a party.  He goes through all of the steps, but his party never starts, like the game didn't even register it.  I don't have any solutions, I'm afraid.  I think it's just a bug that may take something from Electronic Arts to fix.

This has happened the last few parties my sim has been invited to, too. Sometimes it wouldn't show up on the map, but would work if I clicked the "attend party" pop-up. But yesterday that wasn't even working, I'd click attend party, but the Sim wouldn't go, and nothing shows up on the map. I'd still get that annoying 2am phone call, though!

I'm having a similar issue with being invited to parties, but the parties not actually taking place. It happens with probably (rough guess) about 50% of the parties my sim is invited to. The time will come, my sim will get that phone call or text message that the party is starting, but when I click to attend nothing happens.

One thing I did notice with these occurrences is that no one is home at the house where the party is to take place. I am wondering if the "push" to bring the sim back to his/her own lot to start the party somehow gets interrupted.

I have also had a lot of parties lately when the people throwing the party arrive home after my sim comes to their house... I wonder if it's patch related?

Maybe they are unpopular Sims and nobody RSVP's, so they cancel the party 
Mine seem to be working again, though, after I had a few that didn't work.

Apparently this is now happening in my game too.
Meaning my sim gets the invite, I click that he'll be there, party time comes...no balloon/party icons on the map, no 'Attend Party' pop-up until some weird time in the overnight hours, like they're out of sync.
Anyone ever find a solution for this, or cause?

I had something similar happen once awhile ago. It's definitely not patch related. It's just a glitch in the game. What I had to do to "fix" it was to reset the town.

I'm not sure if it will work for you, but it might be worth trying.
