A Townie Dynasty with Leeway: The Wind Cries Merri

3.22: The Wind Cries Merri

Week 16/Saturday

Merri: Did you hear both Uncle Mot and Trace Bheeda passed away last night?
That leaves only seven other occupied homes in our simverse.

We're excited, especially Masato, about moving Aaradhya Anand into a house!
She's not only my homeless clubmate but also Masato's favorite lady.
They have a grade-school son and a girl toddler together.

Imagine our disappointment to learn that someone's already beat us to the punch!
At first, his grey hair gives us hope. But no, he's an adult, not an elder.
Just what we wanted: a pear-shaped neighbor.

Readers, meet the cheerful goofball Walter Sharma and his dog Monka. *cries

Merri: Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Aaradhya.
Aaradhya: Not to worry, Merri! You've done so much for me already.
And we can just wait for that ole vampire you cured to kick the bucket, right?

Merri: About that. Count Vlad's got white hair but he's actually a young adult.
Also, I was researching immortal nannies on EA Answers HQ last night and…
Aaaradhya: And?

Merri: Vlad's a "special sim" in charge of introducing new vamps to the vampiric life, so he never ages.
However, if I hadn't cured him, he might have burned up in the sunlight.

Gah! This challenge of mine is like a comedy of errors!

Merri: Oh well. After that, we spend most of the day at Desert Bloom Park.
I'm determined to obtain a UFO plant to complete our garden collection.

I finish the Space Rock collection, but the UFO plant continues to elude me!
Where is that Green Man when I need him?

Jet: I'm playing space explorer with Brook Mandir, who's the bruncle of Adelynn.
Garrison: Bruncle? What does that mean?

Jet: Brook says he's Adelynn's half-brother because they share Uncle Masato as their father.
But Brook and Adelynn's mother share the same mother, so he's also Adelynn's uncle.
See? Brother + Uncle = Bruncle.

Garrison: Okay, that's pretty complicated. Uh, can you explain, Masato?
Masato: *coughs

Merri: When we get back from the park, we're all tired, hungry, and grungy.
Since nobody in the household cooks except me, I order a pizza (41 points).

By the time I get out of the shower, that pizza's history!

Merri: The household gets bored staying at Desert Bloom Park all day.
And I don't really want to sneak over there with my club while everyone's sleeping.
That's why I'm having Daichi and Aaradhya help me build a rocket ship at home.

UFO plant or bust!

Week 17/Sunday

Merri: Mentoring Theresa, former Queen of Pass Outs, in painting was not time wasted!
This morning, she autonomously maxes her painting skill (43 points).

And did I mention that I love having a butler?
Unlike my clubmates, our butler tends the garden without harvesting! (42 points)

Garrison: Um, did you miss me while I was at work, sweetheart?
Merri: You bet! And I want you to join my club right now!

Garrison: Merri, you're scaring me! The rules say we can't be in a club together…

Garrison: Best club ever!

Monday

Merri: We're nearing our last free day, so I had to dismiss the butler last night.
Thankfully, I can still count on my clubmates to help out.

Daichi and Aaradhya are both adults now, so Jet will want to add a younger member or two.

Lone: Welcome home, Uncle Nimb!
Jet: Did you get promoted to Mad Scientist today?

Nimb: Not today, but I have very high hopes for tomorrow!

Merri: I've just tried 3 different hookah flavors for my work assignment.
Sitting here reminds me of that moment at Yuma Heights, when Garrison suddenly aged up into a young adult.
Was that really only four weeks ago?

Merri: Darling, it's your adult birthday tonight!
You need to put down your beloved grilled cheese sammie and blow out your candles!

My perfect husband is now an adult, and just as gorgeous as ever!

Merri: I feel so bad about Aaradhya, Garrison!
Garrison: I know. We should have kept closer tabs on how many occupied houses we had.
Hey, in my defense, Sharma moved in right after I installed the Laundry Stuff Pack!

Nimb: I can't believe you've left the dog bowl there all this time! Trying to guilt me?

Masato: Do you have a moment, Merri? I've been wanting to talk with you.
Merri: I always have time for you, Masato. What's on your mind?

Masato: I'm 88 days old, Merri. I probably have about a week more to live, you know.
I've had a good life but I'm worried about Aaradhya and our children Johnathon and Theresa.

Merri: I know you're worried about your children because Aaradhya's already an adult.
But Johnathon's only 3-4 days younger than my twins. He'll be a teen by the weekend!

Masato: Yes, I know that Johnathon can look after Theresa as Aaradhya ages.
Still, I'd like to ask you a big favor. Would you please keep an eye on my kids?

Merri: The thing is, my twins become teenagers tomorrow night.
And I plan to start our fifth and last free day before they age up.
I won't be the controlled sim much longer, Masato.

Masato: Oh, right! Jet's going to become the active heir tomorrow.
Then he's the one I need to talk with, but I hope you'll put in a good word for me, too.
Merri: Of course, I will. And you know Jet's always thought the world of you.

Tuesday

Merri: Early the next morning, I invite Johnathon over to get to know him.
He's a vegetarian and I've added him to my club with his mother and Daichi (behind us).

Here's hoping that Johnathan ages up with positive traits so Jet will want to keep him around.

Merri: Brother Nimb and I both earn promotions today.
He's now a Level 9 Mad Scientist. (43 points)
I also reach Level 9 in my career, but will I ever get a career uniform? (44 points)

Nimb: Sis, have you even visited your office yet?

I've been crazy busy today, knowing that Jet will soon become the active heir.
Besides upgrading various appliances, I'm also stockpiling meals in family inventory.

I even replaced our fridge and stove with the high-end Snapple models.
Imagine my delight to note that my previous upgrades reappeared on the new appliances!

Merri: *influences Lone to practice the violin
Lone: Thanks for mentoring me, Mama! (46 points)

Wednesday

Merri: It's past midnight so you and Lone should be getting your birthday notices real soon.
And we're close to the last free day, too!
Jet: But Mama, I only need one more child friend to complete Social Butterfly!

Merri: I know, son, and I only need two more levels for my designated skill.
Once our last free day starts, you can make a third friend for your aspiration.
As soon as you complete Social Butterfly, though, you two need to blow out your candles, okay?

I'm ready to perform my last act as the controlled sim and Gen3 heir.
The moment I transfer my Meatless Monte Cristo Sandwiches to a platter, I max Gourmet Cooking. (50 points)
It's time to commence our fifth and final free day, folks!

Loved the Jimi Hendrix reference in the title!
What great luck that the handsome Walter Sharma moved in!  Okay, not so much.  While things like that may be frustrations for you, they sure do become great moments of humor for your updates  :=)
I admire your resiliency in continuing despite the struggles that come your way.
Looking forward to seeing the boys as teens!

Congrats on Merri completing her reign! Can't wait to see how Jet does.  Still can't get over all the stuff your game keeps throwing at you.

@PeregrineTook
Thanks for noticing the Jimi reference!!!
Lol, it's as if the game knows what I'm planning and thwarts me every step of the way! The timing is uncanny.
And I understand that I'm coloring these various events as "struggles" because I continue to resist the random nature of this challenge. Haha.
On the plus side, this challenge has taught me a lot about how The Sims 4 works.
Perhaps as a tiny reward for my sufferings, the twins age up to very handsome teens. :D

@Shewolf13
Thank you! I'm also eager to play Jet as the active heir once their last free day ends.
I'd been checking Mot and Trace Bheeda in Merri's relationship panel every couple of hours for daaaayyyyyys, but Sharma suddenly appeared after I installed the Laundry Stuff Pack.
Well, I guess the Lees need to keep pollinating the five occupied households, since the Vatores and Vlad will never die.
Keeping the simverse alive with viable spouse options feels like the hardest part of this challenge. That pear-shaped guy was my first move-in since Liberty's first week.
I really hope the "Fill Empty Houses" feature gets fixed. Good thing Jet aged up really cute or I'd be completely demoralized right now, lol.

The deaging glitch is really troubling but not as game-breaking as other bugs, I guess. I'm sorry you had a problem with your toddler but am also a little relieved that Masato's problem wasn't isolated to my game. How's your Townie Dynasty going so far?

@oshizu Its a weird glitch I'm thinking it might have shown up in the new patch. I'm gonna assume that is not CC if youre having a similar problem because we probably don't have the exact same stuff.

And my Dynasty is going good! My first heir is a teen, I've decided who shes gonna marry! I ended up with twin toddlers though and they literally were so hard to do anything with that they consumed all Ninas time so I got nothing done for like a whole sim week! It was SO stressful I have no idea how you manged 3 at once in Gen 1

I agree that it came with the latest patch. My game's been acting weird since the patch prior to the Laundry Stuff Pack's release.

I've PMed you with toddler tips, in case you're interested. :D

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway: Jet Propulsion
« Reply #156 on: January 23, 2018, 01:52:47 PM »
4.23: Jet Propulsion

Week 17/Wednesday

Jet: Mama and Uncle Masato want me keep tabs on Aaradhya and her kids.
That's why I choose their son Johnathon to be my third friend.
Okay, I'm done with Social Butterfly. Lone, it's time for us to age up!

By the way, here's a later shot of Jonathan doing homework with his dad.
That's his mom, Aaradhya Anand, helping Pris with Artistic Prodigy.

Garrison: I'm more than pleased that our twins have aged up so nicely!
Merri: Agreed! Jet looks a lot like you, and Lone resembles his Great-Uncle Mot!

This is Jet's collage for the Stats post on page 1.
The puppies are so cute, I replaced one portrait then enlarged the image for sharing here, too!

Theresa: Right, the puppies…

Jet: I've aged up into a dog lover who loves the outdoors.
But I'm indoors reading because I'm an aspiring Renaissance Sim. *feels cooped up

Lone: I'm a creative loner and an aspiring Painter Extraordinaire.
Auntie Theresa is helping me start out, so we can go to the art museum together.

Jet: Watchette suggests I join a teen career for Renaissance Sim, so I pick Retail.
I have to level to Charisma 2 and get energized before leaving for work at 6 pm.

After a boring shift, I have Mama mentor me in painting some.
I even try painting her portrait but it's only worth $289.
Looks like I need a higher painting skill. And I'll be using my photos after all!

Thursday

Jet: Yay! I earn an A on my first day of high school, though my brother does not.
Checking on everyone in the household, I see Mama's maxed the Food Critic career.
We didn't even get a notice about that, either!

What's even worse, though, is her career uniform. After all her hard work!
That's not a fitting outfit for a sim with impeccable culinary discernment!

Jet: I'm thinking our watcher needs to get with the program.
Today, it hits me!  As an A student, I'll start any adult career at Level 3.
I don't need to mess with teen jobs, since I'm stuck at Tier II until my birthday anyway.

Two hours before my shift starts, I quickly phone in to quit my retail job. Sheesh!

Well, now that I don't have to work tonight, I can get started on my portraits.
I snap a photo of brother Lone and will take Pris's photo when she's a teen.

Do I paint any faster, I wonder, at higher painting levels?
Just in case, I ask Mama to mentor me.

Lone: Why are we having dinner at 11 pm? I was about to go to bed!
Jet: I was in the middle of my portrait marathon when some vampire broke in.
Lone: So we're eating?

Jet: No, Papa and Nimb were outside so I used "Call to Meal" to get everyone indoors.
Once I lock all the exterior doors, the break-in ends. Break-ins are such a pain!

Friday

Jet: It's particularly fun being the controlled sim after the last free day.
I can go about doing whatever I want, without worrying about points.
Mama stood on the street for hours after work, then didn't quite make it to the sofa.

Jet: By the time Pris's birthday notice arrives, everyone has gone to bed, even Pris.
Pris: Thanks for waking me up, Jet!
Jet: No problem, cuz!

Jet: Since no one else is up, I end up becoming her makeover consultant.
Pris: I'm not sure, Jet. What do you think?
Jet: You definitely want to lose your human disguise, Pris!
And thanks for posing for your portrait! Very cute!

Saturday

Jet: I'm finishing up my eighth portrait when my future wife stops to say hello.
What's that you say? No, this isn't Adelynn Mandir.
Didn't you get the memo?

It's a bit late to explain everything tonight, but perhaps we can go a-visiting tomorrow.

Jet: This is the 3-bedroom Tudor Bungalow, located on the Summer House lot.
It's down the street from us on the other side of the Shrieking Llama Bar.

Anyway, the morning after our last free day, we're getting ready to step out for a break.
And we notice that, for the second time this past week, we have new neighbors.

It's so strange! No new move-ins since Great-Grandma Liberty's generation.
Then, bam! Two move-ins within one week, both in Windenberg Countryside.

Jet: Mama says she vaguely remembers seeing the family around.
The one standing is Ananya Joyson. She has two kids: Saanvi and a son.
I invited Saanvi to my club two days ago. I haven't met her brother yet.

When I met Ananya 2 days ago, she was an adult so her grey hair is a surprise!
Sssshhhhh, not so loud with the questions. Saanvi doesn't know yet that she'll be marrying me.

Jet: You're prob wondering how I've switched to Saanvi so easily.
Though she's already a young adult, she's a dog-lover like me.
She's also a cat-lover and childish which are both okay traits, right?

Anyway, Watchette's always wanted her sims to live in the Tudor Bungalow.
You knew that we'd been hoping to move Aaradhya Anand into this house, right?

Since the game doesn't let us move sims into houses, I've decided to marry the girl who moved in.
Makes sense, doesn't it? As for Adelynn, more about her later. *winks

Jet: I must confess I'm slightly envious of brother Lone.
The last free day, he burned through two aspirations and almost finished a third one.
That's a lot of reward traits! Meanwhile, I'm still at Tier II of Renaissance Sim.

I'm glad to note that Lone has started practicing yoga on his own initiative.
In fact, Loner Lone has come outside to destress from Stranger Danger.

Week 18/Sunday

Gotta love how this Tiki Bar spews flames from both ends!
It's 2:11 am, and I do believe that I'm done with all my museum stuff!

I can't wait to have the time to do other non-museum-y activities!

Here's my museum area! My eight portraits come out to $26,721.
My ten vampire cures are worth $79,309.
At $106,030, I have the most valuable museum contribution so far!

Edited to add: Lee forgot to hang Theresa Fyres' portrait, so he'll have to go back to add that to his wall.

Grandpa Cirius started a tradition of adding a copy of the founder/heir's portrait.
That way, the whole household's portraits would be in one place.
I don't have room in my museum area to attractively place all eight portraits, though.
So here's a shot of the dynasty wall. Who knew Grandpa Cirius was such a hipster?

Jet: I'm really lucky to live in a house with so many mentors!
Once I hit Writing 3 (to write excuse notes),  I'll be asking Papa to mentor me in  fitness.

Okay, Watchette, I can see how Renaissance Sim makes sense for me.
Still, I wish I could buy more reward traits before moving out!

Jet: What's wrong with this picture? It's the family tree of Uncle Masato.
For one thing, his father is long gone and shouldn't look alive. That's a bug!

What I want you to notice, however, are his children.
(He has two more with the mean-as-a-snake vampire who don't show up here.)
All five children on the right became teens in the past 12 hours or so.

Masato: They're my children from Free Day #1.
Jet: Yes, they were conceived roughly 12 to 36 hours after Lone and I.
BUT, they aged up to teens four to five days later. Why?

Merri: My guess? No pregnancy test plus cakeless age-ups into toddler, child, and teen.
Jet: My point exactly! Pollination timing is tricky when limited to free-day pollination.
Townie sims will always age more slowly.

Merri: You're telling me! I waited for Garrison, remember?
I didn't have 13 days to prepare for moving out, like your grandpa and you.
And then I had to wait so long before Garrison aged up! You were born just in time.

Jet: Here's a collage of four out of Uncle Masato's five Free Day #1 teens.
Noel (mean, cheerful) and Theo (vegetarian, hotheaded) are my cousins, because we all share the same grandpa (Masaya Yamamoto).

But I'm not blood-related to Adelynn (genius, geek) and Johnathon (vegetarian, jealous).
I tried adding all 4 to my club but kicked everyone except Adelynn because…traits.

So, yeah, I've decided not to wait for Adelynn like Mama waited for Papa.
What if I waited for Adelynn then she aged up into a mean or evil sim?

Monday

Jet: By the way, Papa gets abducted around 3 am in the morning.
Nobody gives a hoot because we already have 8 sims in our household.
Garrison: That's cold, son! I got zapped and jolted and came back dazed!

Jet (not listening): Maybe I can get a dog once I move out in 8 more days! Maybe even sooner?

Author's Notes

*It's so nice being able to ignore the troubles of the contrarian uncontrolled sims.
*Hope this update wasn't too boring. I wanted to share some of my (futile) attempts at moving through this challenge.
*Anyway, Project Saanvi solves several problems for now.
-Jet won't have to wait nervously for Adelynn to sloooooowly age up in time..
-Saanvi adds a layer of unrelatedness between future Lees and pollinated kids.
-I get to play Jet's household in the lovely Maxis-created Tudor Bungalow.
*Jet's been all about taking care of business this week. He's hoping to have more fun next week, his last week as a teen.

How wonderful that the game decided to move an appropriate spouse into the house you had been wanting!!  I'm so happy for you!
I also remember what a nerve-wracking time it was for you waiting to see if Garrison would age up in time, so I'm glad Jet won't have to worry about that.
Pris is so pretty!!  She's an elf!!  I think she's just stunning!  Too bad she kept Jet from having his puppy, but he could always have that joy in the next house (along with his dog-loving wife)!!  I vote for a pug because I just love them!!

Jet is a hot looking young sim, cant wait to see his children.
And your museum is awesome.
After the vampire event in the tournament i have also added Vampire cures to my list of high value museum items to go for.

@Shewolf13
Thank you! Due to the lagging, I spend a lot of time in PAUSE mode, waiting for the next action to drop down.
It's been happening whenever anyone in the household changes mood, earns a skill level, or gets a promotion.
Lately, whenever I notice a sim's skill level is over 100%, I just hit PAUSE (because even if it reaches 160%, the next level starts at 0%).
Some days, I spend more time in PAUSE mode than actually playing, or it feels that way, anyway.
All this even after a factory reset.
I need to go through my cc, I guess. Laundry Stuff Pack overwrote my toddler eyelashes and my vet Ken's wonderful hair.  :'(
Good luck trouble-shooting your lagging!  It's frustrating for sure.

@PeregrineTook
It's not so much that "the game decided to move in an appropriate spouse into the house you had been wanting."
It's more of a "Love the one you're with" scenario. When I noticed that household had moved into Tudor Bungalow, I had to quit playing for several hours.
I was furious. The game has forced what's her name on me by not offering any other options, so I've decided to just embrace the randomness.
Haha, they're just sims but I'm still sad over Jet's marital prospects (and those shots of the Joyson are post-closet shots).
Pippin, do you have a pug in real life?

@LenaLJ
Thanks, Lena! I'm looking forward to meeting the Gen5 Lees, too!
I'm using the museum created and uploaded to the Gallery by saltpastillen. I love how she's split up the space on each floor.
As for museum value, I doubt that my ending value will be very high.
I impatiently sped through my Gen2 heir's museum collection of paintings.
His paintings which should have been at least as (if not more) valuable than the vampire cures, but they're woefully low value. :D

You are so fast with your writing, it's fantastic!! I'm excited to see what Jet does next, and also what incredible offspring he produces. You must get so frustrated with how many bugs you have going on with your game right now.. it's probably much more pronounced because you can't control anyone else except the heir, so can't cancel or force anyone else to do anything.. hopefully a new patch will come out soon! (I guess for all of us!)

@KTK10
As this is a game-driven sim story, I simply snap screenshots during gameplay then choose and edit screenshots to write about later.
It's considerably less time-consuming than a plot-drive sim story, like your wonderful Lasting Legacy.
It's always such a pleasure to take a break for the tournament challenges--I play them in a different no-cc Sims 4 folder, so they have zero lag and much fewer problems.
(I'd say no problems, but the recent patch changed that, hehe).
I can't wait to get Lee moved into Tudor Bungalow!

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway: Lee-thal Weapon
« Reply #163 on: January 28, 2018, 01:54:54 AM »
4.24: Lee-thal Weapon

Week 18/Monday

Garrison: Jog like you mean it, Jet!
Jet: Why are you so angry, Papa? You know I have zero fitness.

Garrison: I've been locked out of our home gym for days.
Then, I suddenly have access again tonight, but only to mentor you.
Jet: Take a good look at yourself, Papa. You need to stop working out for a while.
You have no neck, bulging thighs, and your upper body resembles The Hulk.

Garrison: So, what's wrong with that?
Jet: Watchette tried so hard to keep you from bulking up while you maximized your body potential.
But then you spoiled that by unnecessary workouts. You are so not Watchette's type anymore.

Garrison: I'm not? Are you serious, Jet? Could our watcher be such a fickle mistress?
Oh come on, look at yourself, Garrison. Who would blame me?

Jet: Oh no! My workout is interrupted by the news that I'm missing a museum portrait.
It's back to the Lee Museum.

After adding Auntie Theresa's portrait, I also have room for a copy of Mama's.
So, here we have all eight portraits but no vampire cures. Embarrassing, right?
After taking a shot of my wall last Sunday, I threw out all the vampire cures.
They would have spoiled within 6-8 hours and I didn't know I'd forgotten a portrait.

(We heirs will be placing the previous heir's portrait on both our personal wall and the dynasty wall, but only counting its value once.)

Jet: Our household seems to running into vampire break-ins quite often lately.
My parents have made a few vampire enemies, after fighting them to end the break-ins.
At this rate, the Lees will become a target of hatred among the vampire community.

Traveling to Forgotten Hollow for the first time, I visit my friend Caleb for advice.
Caleb offers various suggestions, one of which I rather like.
As our discussion stretches on, I phone to take a day off from school.

After everyone's back from work, I take the household to the park for homework.
Mama prepares Franks and Beans, of course.
But she's a slob and doesn't need special food to constantly pass gas. *rolls eyes

Auntie Theresa is up to her usual, weird tricks.
Uncle Nimb earns his last promotion tonight to Extraterrestrial Explorer.

Jet: I've heard of obsessed kpop fans worrying about pregnancy after watching a particularly marvelous video of their favorite performer.
I confess I've always been quite smitten by Caleb. Do you think…?

Jet: It's quite late when we hit the scene at Narwahl Arms.
In fact, Lone, Pris, and I have never been here before.

Uncle Masato's age bar is full though not bubbling yet.
I’d like to do some fun things with Uncle Masato while we can.
By the way, I'm not sure why everyone looks so miserable. I'm the only one with zero dancing skill!

Jet: It's a great night for Lone and me, cuz both our grandfathers show up.
We vaguely remember Grandpa Cirius (blue) around when we were really small.
But Grandpa Masaya (pink) had passed before Lone and I were born.

Tuesday

Uncle Masato really loves to dance! He was the first in this house to max dancing.
Today, he literally spends all day dancing in the living room.

Lone and I are waiting for Mama to come home so we can go volunteering.
Oh please, Mama. You can cut the surprised act!
I hear your classmates in high school used to call you Musical Merri…

After two volunteer missions, I'm suddenly swept into the air in a swirl of pink mist.
So this is what Caleb meant when he said I need to understand what it means to be a vampire!

Quite frankly, when Caleb suddenly licked my neck and kissed it, I immediately passed out from the pleasure.
I have no recollection of what happened after that kiss, but now I have a clue.

My dark form isn't the best, but I like the facial details.
I can always change the outfit later. I  mean, a vampire in a t-shirt!?

My clubmate Aaradhya agrees to let me drink from her wrist.
Uncle Masato would die if he saw the two of us like this.

And now it's time to go to Forgotten Hollow for some training!
Jet: I know you and my parents despise each other, but that's got nothing to with me, right?
*high fives Vlad
Vlad: Welcome to the vampire community, Jet. What's with the high-five, dude?
Ain't nobody taught you the vampire dap yet?
Jet: Huh?

Vlad: Whatever. What can I do for you tonight, dawg? Vampiric training?
Jet: Yasssss, train me, please! Wait, why can't I request training from you?

Vlad: I was just kidding. Your mother cured me, remember?
Jet: Oh, right. Doh.

Caleb: Hey, you waited for me to get off work? Nice to see you!
Jet: Nice to see me? I thought you were kissing me but I ended up a vampire!

Caleb: Get real, Jet. We're not in the same age group. I'm not "allowed" to kiss you.
So you've been waiting outside my house for who knows how long to tell me that?
Jet: Well, that plus I was wondering if you could train me since, you know, you're my master and all.

Wednesday

Once Caleb trains me, I think I'd like to have vampire offspring of my own.
So, after this and that as well as a second training session with Caleb, I'm ready.

First, I turn Sofia Bjergsen's daughter Charity.
She is Papa's half-sister but, if enough generations pass, that won't matter.

Second, I turn Mehdi Mandir. Remember Adelynn Mandir, who I'd initially hoped to marry?
Medhi is her uncle and entirely unrelated to the Lees, so he brings in fresh genes.
On the other hand, Adelynn will be half-siblings with all of Uncle Masato's kids.

Third, I return to Count Vlad's manor to turn him.
When Mama cured him, she hadn't realized the important role he played in the vampire community.
I don't know if turning him back to a vampire will put him back in that role or not.
But I'm all about building bridges with the vampires, you know?

Hey, Count! Has anyone ever told you that your blood tastes divine? *smacks lips

Vlad: I don't know which is worse!
Being kicked off the Vampire Council or wondering if I'll get my seat back.

Caleb: Do you think your vampire rank and powers will be reset?
Vlad: Gah, who knows? I would really hate to be a fledgling vampire again!

Caleb: Hey, what are neighbors for? I'm always ready to train you! *gloats
I hope turning Vlad back into a vampire doesn't destroy my game…

I hurry home and begin mixing a vampire cure, hoping to be back to normal in time for school.
Just as I'm almost done mixing the drink, it suddenly disappears. What the heck?

Apparently, I'm not supposed to be mixing a vampire cure while Uncle Masato is dying.
"Someone" has locked me out of the house, too, so I wouldn't have been able to witness his death, anyway.

The entire household is plunged into sadness, except me and (oddly) Auntie Theresa.
Rest in peace, Uncle Masato. You did what you did with class!

By the time Grim is done reaping Uncle Masato's soul, it's already light out.
My skin sizzles in the sunlight while I rush to mix another vampire cure.

And I'm back to normal just in time for school!
Oh, one thing I hadn't anticipated about this Vampire-for-a-Day lark.

My age got reset to a Day 1 teen. But,  lucky for me, I have a twin brother.
After Lone gets his second birthday notice, I'll make sure to cake up right before him.

When evening comes, I decide it's time to adopt a puppy!
Because we're a seven-sim household, the adoption agency will only showcase one dog at a time.
At one point, I nearly adopt a golden retriever pup named Woofers.

We get off to a rocky start but then he shows me just how cute he can be.
Unfortunately, he is a playful, aggressive troublemaker.
I'm sorry but an aggressive troublemaker dog would be too much for me to handle!

Thursday

I phone several more times, each time seeing only lapdog puppies.
Then I wait until after midnight, hoping all the dogs would reset. They do!
I'm surprised to see that someone's put up an Akita for adoption!

Right then and there, I resolve to adopt Diamond the Akita, regardless of his traits!

This puppy is friendlier to me than the golden retriever had been.
I'm surprised to get a "Give a Big Treat ($10)" option and wonder if the puppy's a glutton.
Yep, his traits are Adventurous, Glutton, and Troublemaker.
The Powers-Above obviously believe that I need a troublemaker in my life. *sighs

Meanwhile, the adoption agent is beside himself with worry.
His only concern is whether I'm qualified to adopt the puppy or not.

Actually, the agent has been clutching that controller for dear life ever since he arrived.

I pay the $200 to adopt the little fella.
Then, I give my adventurous, gluttonous troublemaker a new name: Scamp.

Yo, Scamp! I called in "fake sick" for today and I'm taking my last vacation day tomorrow.
We can spend your puppy stage together, day and night!

This update's silly title references the Lethal Weapon film series, starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as a comedic cop duo.
The fourth and last film in the series, Lethal Weapon 4, features Jet Li as the antagonist.

Credits
Credit for the vampire idea goes to:
@MarianT for first implementing it in her wonderful Straud Dynasty, her Long-Lifespan version of this challenge; and
@reggikko for reminding us that it's a viable strategy for the official Townie dynasty challenge.
When reggikko first mentioned the strategy of keeping housed spouse prospects on hold by turning them, I thought it was too late for my dynasty.

Populating the Simverse
True, I no longer have a dozen-plus households at my disposal, but I did find two good spouse prospects.
So, I will be continuing this challenge through a combination of pollinating and vampirism.

Lol, way to make use of Jet's inability to gain and lose points, that was fantastic. Diamond is adorable, best of luck to her and Jet. Here's hoping Garrison slims down before too long. This is such a fun update.

Oh, and this is totally off-topic but your hypothesis that the carrying parent has a better chance to pass on rainbow skin colors seems to be correct. My Rival rainboo pollinators are having a way harder time producing rainboos than the rainboo women.
