Ahaha! Love JD. You go, Virtua! I think she looks pretty good.
@Shewolf13
I had to dress Virtua in the baggiest clothes because she has that bizarre unattractively-skinny body shape, like her mother. Her face only looks good from certain angles, sadly.
Not sure where the Lee genetics went wrong. :(

Another beautiful museum, and another congratulations on your progress.
@LenaLJ
Thank you! Virtua has been hard to play so far because of her teen mood swings and queue dropping.
I'm hoping that's just a teen thing.
In the next update, she will be moving and I'm very excited about the completely unfurnished Chateau Frise and the birth of the Gen9 heir.
Only two more museum collections to go!  ;D

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 8.56: Jungle Noob
« Reply #362 on: May 17, 2018, 08:40:24 PM »

8.55: Jungle Noob

Week 40/Thursday

Jungle Dawg: This is "my week," so I'll be doing all the talking until the trip to Selvadorada ends. Woof!

I'm pretty hyped about returning to Selvadorada on Friday!
We should be leaving right after school on Friday, right?
That gives Virtua 24 hours to get stuff done.

Unfortunately, she returns from school with a Mortified +50 moodlet.
Watchette finally makes her drink a moodlet solver and Virtua even drags her feet on that!

Four hours after she gets home from school, Virtua finally gets serious about skilling.

Friday

Entering a Loud phase after school, Virtua spends a lot of time dropping queues to be mad.
Sorry to dash your optimistic hopes with my bluntness, Watchette.
But do you get the feeling that Guacamo and Virtua just trashed your gene pool?
Noooo! Does that mean Virtua's generation will be…unpleasant?

Sadly, we don't manage to arrive in Selvadorada until nearly midnight.
Not sure what took so long. Virtua didn't even get that much skilling done! Hmmph, teenagers!

Since we are a party of eight, we'll be staying at the Belomisa Field Station.

As you can see, I've invited along Virtua, Bubb, Guacamo, and Paize.
I've also invited Guacamo's friend Arthav and Bubb's classmate Kasey.
We hang at the Cantina for a while to see if Virtua can buy me a food bowl and bed, but no luck.
Back to our lodging to wait until tomorrow. Dibs on the sofa!

Saturday

The next morning, I'm eager to return to the marketplace so Virtua can buy me a bowl.
I've been surviving on treats since last night.
To my utter shock, she feeds herself before buying my bowl and feeding me. *feels disappointed

I've been thinking ahead lately to the end of this dynasty.
The final heir, it seems, only needs to create portraits and put together a museum collection.

That means that I only have one more trip to Selvadorada after this one!
Just my luck to come here with an heir who's constantly in a bad mood…
Maybe I can persuade the Gen10 heir to make one last trip!

Okay, I'll accept your peace offering since you're going through a loud phase.
And now we're friends.

Guacamo and Arthav, enjoying some quiet time together.

JD: Yo! Why are you cooking at the Belomisa Trailhead? It's almost 9 pm.
Don't you remember that the temple resets every 24 hours?
Virtua: Don't tell me what to do! I'm the heir and you're not.
JD: Oh puhleeze! I am Jungle Dawg and who are you? Jungle Noob, that's who!

JD: We press forward until reaching the temple then immediately return to the lodging.
We can start fresh tomorrow morning.

Week 41/Sunday

Virtua learned to establish dig sites before we returned home last night.
So this morning, we return to the temple with a smaller group of four (including yours truly).

Guacamo avoids an attack by fire flies with mumbo-jumbo he learned by maxing Selvadoradan Culture.

Inside the Temple of Abundance, Bubb also gets attacked by fire flies.
He avoids getting bit by using the Fire Foam in his personal inventory.
But the encounter leaves him singed for the rest of his vacation. Sorry, Bubb!

I really hate this mechanism! We run into three of these in this temple!
Poor Virtua! She activates the wrong trigger and ends up wetting herself.
Time for another moodlet solver!

In the next-to-the-last room, Virtua finally realizes that my hunger is critically low.
She summons me but then just stands there doing nothing.
Thanks so much, Guacamo, for autonomously feeding me a big treat! <3

And then I age up to an elder, so Virtua gives me both an Age-Down Treat and a big treat.

Stop zoning out, Virtua! The treasures are in the next room!
Pull on the left warrior's weapon already! It's already 8 pm!

And she finally finishes exploring the temple! It only took two whole days!
If the next heir lets me guide him, I'm pretty sure we can finish two temple runs in one weekend. *side-eyes Virtua

Why did Virtua take so long to get through the temple?
She was even skipping all the temple's dig sites along the way!
But now Virtua, Guaca, and Bubb are excavating every dig site on their way out.
Zzzzzzzzzzz

Monday

Virtua: I earn another vacation day today, so I'm never going back to high school!
Papa helps me learn several useful skills.
The days have really sped by!

Late that night, I master Vampire Lore so I can go cure Ricardo tomorrow!
Around the same time, our resident attention-hog runs away. *sighs

Tuesday

Virtua: I'm glad you're back, Scamp, but your timing is really lousy!
Don't you realize that my young adult birthday's in, like, 30 hours?

Scamp: Yeah, yeah. I'm protesting the overall quality of my recent trip to Selvadorada.
For me, it was the worst trip ever! Dig, dig, dig. Where was the fun? Where was the adventure?

That night, I visit Ricardo Duran at Chateau Frise with two goals in mind.
When I arrive at Ricardo's home, we have zero friendship since I barely know him.
So, after I cure him of vampirism, I'd like us to get to know each other.

Wednesday

Four hours later, I know that he's Neat and Childish as well as a Level 6 Chef.
He seems like a really nice guy, but it takes me until 2 am to become friends with him.
I better get home before Papa starts to worry.

When I ask Papa about Ricardo's third trait, I learn he's Good.
I can't wait to meet him again after my birthday. I wonder if he'll like me more when I'm a young adult...

While doing lab work on the vet crafting machine, I lose track of time and miss the birthday notices!
Only Bubb and Eden celebrate my birthday with me. Where are my parents?

My brother and I are young adults now!
I'm a creative, materialistic bookworm, while Bubb's an outgoing vegetarian snob.

It's time for me to go pay another visit to Ricardo to see if we've got chemistry!

Coming next: Virtua marries and moves out! The ninth-generation Lee heir is born!

You really seem to go fast with this. Congrats on Gen 9 nearly here.
And you make me happy that I dont' have the Parenthood pack already, because the mood swings don't seem fun at all.
Poor Jungle dog who don't get his adventures in Selvadora. Maybe the last heir will make a good bye trip, as it now seems so much part of the heir life.

Is Virtua's mom related to Morgan Fyres? In my game, her offspring is always that skinny, when nearly everyone else takes lot of weigh in the diverses festivals.

I hope sparks fly between Virtua and Ricardo.  And I hope Scamp likes him, too.  Maybe Ricardo will be a better (i.e. more helpful) spouse than Kari was.

Having a big, empty house to decorate sounds awesome.  You can fix it up to suit the family's needs.  Maybe skip the TV altogether.  lol.  :)

Poor Kari.  Yeah, I know, she's terrible, but she's so pretty!  Speaking of pretty, hooray for Paize!!  And of course, the lovely Virtua.  Even though she didn't take after her gorgeous mama, I think she's quite lovely.  Maybe not good at jungle adventures, but lovely just the same  ;=)

@Tynynounours
This has been a really hard challenge for me, so I've been trying to play it quickly to the end.
Virtua is the only heir who had such negative mood swings throughout her teen years. They're gone now that she's a young adult, thankfully.
I really love the Parenthood pack--the parenting socials for influencing children & teens work so well with this challenge.

As for Selvadorada, I like taking teen heirs there while they wait to move out.
The archaeology skill is so great for making money and a new heir can authenticate artifacts to take with them to the new house to sell there.
Jungle Dawg just adds a little variety to each heir's teen years.
Virtua's mother is completely unrelated to Morgan Fyres. But Merri Lee (Gen3 heir) is Morgan's daughter-in-law.
Haha, I took Virtua into CAS and pushed/puller her body into better shape without using the cas.fulleditmode. I like her so much better now. :D
By the way, your Townie Dynasty is on Generation 9, too, right?

I don't think Virtua is too bad. You can give her an insta large potion and then have her slim down with wellness or fitness.
@Shewolf13
As I wrote to Tynynounours, I pushed and pulled her shoulders, chest, hips, and derriere in CAS. She's almost voluptuous now, lol.

I hope sparks fly between Virtua and Ricardo.  And I hope Scamp likes him, too.  Maybe Ricardo will be a better (i.e. more helpful) spouse than Kari was.

@BallerinaHippo
I laughed at your comment about the TV because I hate when certain sims do nothing but watch TV, yet the working sims like to destress by playing video games so I don't want to put it away. So far so good between Virtua and Ricardo and he gets bonus points for socializing with Scamp.
Chateau Frise is a huge house! It's been fun living briefly in a lot of different houses.

Poor Kari.  Yeah, I know, she's terrible, but she's so pretty!  Speaking of pretty, hooray for Paize!!  And of course, the lovely Virtua.  Even though she didn't take after her gorgeous mama, I think she's quite lovely.  Maybe not good at jungle adventures, but lovely just the same  ;=)
@PeregrineTook
Wait until you see Virtua now. I even gave her a perky behind, lol.
Virtua was really unlucky with the teen mood swings.
Nothing like trying to whizz through a temple with an angsty teen who's dragging her feet, haha.
She's a highly-skilled sim now. I'm hoping she can reign over a good-luck generation. :D

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 8.57: Banana Muffins
« Reply #368 on: May 23, 2018, 09:40:20 PM »

Can you guess the next heir's name?

8.57: Banana Muffins

Week 41/Thursday

Virtua: Late Wednesday night, my brother Bubb and I aged up to young adults.
It's well past midnight by the time I'm done preparing our Willow Creek house for the move.
I invite Ricardo Duran out on a date to Stargazer Lounge.
Ricardo: Wow, you look so different! Your hair! And your figure...

Ricardo has the gall to yawn while I'm chatting with him.
The rose, however, snaps the boy out of his boredom.
Come to Mama!

Ricardo and I haven't even kissed yet but I suddenly get a date goal to kiss him passionately.
We're making progress but we're taking baby steps.

Oh, you didn't know there was a party bush at the Stargazer Lounge?
You know how the challenge rules allow us to add objects to community lots at the start of the challenge?
Well, this is one of the "improvements" chosen by our watcher.
A tried and tested means of putting the oomph in a romance! Right, boyfriend?

Ricardo: I didn't realize you came with us on our date.
Scamp: Not by choice, Ricardo.
Ricardo: Where'd Virtua go? After we "emerged" from the party bush, she suddenly disappeared.
Scamp: Not to worry, Ricardo. She'll definitely be back soon.

This is soooo not the romantic start I'd envisioned for my new life with Ricardo.
However, proposing and eloping take around two or three hours, tops.
A nooboo, on the other hand, takes three whole days. I'm talking priorities here.

Ricardo: There you are! You left without a word, you know. I've been worried.
Virtua: Ooooh, how I love an autonomous smooch!

Scamp: Proposing by the party bush? Classy!
Virtua: A little moral support, please?

Scamp: Ricardo isn't the most expressive sim I've ever met.
But he is a most kind-hearted sim. Virtua and Ricardo will be good for each other.

Scamp: With the powers invested in me, I now pronounce you wife and husband.
(It's just one step above getting hitched in front of the bathroom door…)

Virtua: As soon as Scamp and I move in with Ricardo, I buy a dog bowl and bed for Scamp.
Thanks for officiating at our wedding, Scamp. You must be starving!

After moving in Papa, Auntie Paize, and Bubb, I buy a storage chest to sort my personal inventory.
I move double the plants the garden requires into the chest and sell most of the rest.
From Willow Creek, I'd brought hundreds and hundreds of Sixam plants with me.
I also have artifacts, camping mascots, and paintings to sell, plus 4 Selvadoradan treasures.
Our household funds grow from $20,245 to over $150,000. (8 points)

Scamp: It's good to see the minions hard at work, planting and watering the garden!

Virtua: Eh, I and my clubmates are hardly Scamp's minions!
Some of my clubmates are gardening and others are mopping up spilled water.
Waaaay over there, you can spot my Ricardo mopping up the pool area.
His traits? He is childish, good, and neat! Bless his sweet little heart!

All this hard cash has me itching to start on our home.
As you know, Chateau Frise currently lacks even a naked lightbulb.
Luckily for us, we can afford to both furnish and remodel at a basic level.

After finishing the first and second floors, I start fixing up the attic for my clubmates and a future butler.
Then I change my mind.
My preference is a two-story house with a basement floor.
Walking up two flights of stairs takes too long. Here's the new basement floor. Nothing fancy.

At 7 am, I'm ready to trigger our first free day by mastering Cooking.
For some reason, Papa then Bubb decide they must cook something at the exact same time as me.
Thanks to them, I can't get to the fridge until two hours later. Sheesh!

Finally, I max Homestyle Cooking at 10:10 am! (10 points)

Ricardo is a Level 6 Chef with the Best-Selling Author aspiration.
I persuade him to switch to the Author career so he can write books faster.
Thanks for mentoring him, Papa!

Meanwhile, I'm in the new Focused Room, listening to music and munching carrots.
Have you noticed that I'm looking rather va-va-voom since Wednesday?
Our watcher took me into CAS where she tugged here and there to give me some curves.
She also gave me one of her fave hairstyles. I'm feeling more confident already!

Now that the garden's been planted, my clubmates start cooking up a storm.
Enough with the camper's stew, Aarohi! Both Papa and Bubb are vegetarians!

Nothing new about the way I'm setting up house at Chateau Frise.
The only difference is that I made extra sure to arrive with lots of things to sell.
Countless numbers of authenticated artifacts, either to sell or mail back!

I'm thinking ahead to Saturday when I give birth, so I buy a massage table.
Checking Ricardo's skills shows that he has max Wellness.
When I click on my clubmates, they are also capable of giving me a fertility massage.

As the teen heir, I'd also set "play musical instruments" as a club activity.
Hopefully, my clubmates will be able to mentor our children in violin and piano.

Saturday

Scamp: The first free day went by fast, eh?
Virtua: I don't mind. I'm looking forward to being a mother.
Scamp: Thank you, Virtua.
Virtua: For being a mother?
Scamp: No, for choosing Ricardo so we could live here near the beach.
You worked so hard to furnish his house. I'm really grateful.
Virtua: Awww, Scamp! You would have done the same for me!
Scamp: Hey, we're good friends now! (1 point)

Week 42/Sunday

In the wee hours, my Fertile trait and I get a fertility massage then watch the Kids Network.
I'd thought I'd done everything right but, alas, another single birth!
After I give birth to Stud (our 9th-generation Lee heir), I immediately adopt another son, Baer.

This is the third consecutive generation with a single birth, starting with Grandpa Bull.
I'm thinking our watcher's "other challenge" has stolen the Lee mojo for multiples.
No matter! Our boys, Stud Lee and Baer Lee, will grow up to become simply fabulous!

Congrats on the new heir and his sidekick. And how weird the massage and trait didn't worked.

And great call on the jungle bush. I mostly made sure all bathrooms everywhere had gender neutral doors. And yes, gen 9 is born on my side.

Will you share the furnished house pics? I like your builds.

Virtua is looking good!  The pregnancy test during the date was hilarious.  The things heirs have to do for the challenge!

Scamp should be pleased that Virtua's first purchase after moving was for him.  So far it looks like Virtua has a great household and helpful clubmates.  Hopefully that continues.

I'm glad you found that funny! So odd how my Townie Dynasty gets so many single births!
Also very happy that you like Virtua's makeover. I'm also like her a lot now, which is nice.

@LenaLJ
Virtua is so much nicer to play without her mood swings! Scamp is a huge fan of hers now.
My Townie Dynasty has possibly been cursed! Wait until you meet the adopted boy as a toddler, haha.

Congrats on the new heir and his sidekick. And how weird the massage and trait didn't worked.

@Tynynounours
I'm really mystified by the succession of single births, but maybe that's normal and all the twins in this dynasty have been exceptional.
About gender-specific bathroom doors: I once accidentally placed a male-only bathroom door backwards so all the women would go into the bathroom stall but get stuck inside, hahaha.
Thank you for the compliment about my silly builds. I will try to add a few shots in my next update.  :D
Also, I hope you've been taking screenshots of each generation's household to share when you complete your Townie Dynasty Challenge. I would love to see them!

Virtua is looking good!  The pregnancy test during the date was hilarious.  The things heirs have to do for the challenge!

@BallerinaHippo
I'm glad the irony of Virtua running off in the middle of a date to take the pregnancy test was funny to you as well.
When I checked on Ricardo, he was talking to Scamp who'd come over and sat down in front of him. I thought: Yeah, that would be extremely weird date behavior in real life, hahaha.
Just for you and Stud Lee, I promise to try harder for this Townie Dynasty's last couple.
I wonder what makes some generations so difficult and others so easy to play?

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 8.58: That Is Our Kismet
« Reply #374 on: May 25, 2018, 12:09:46 AM »

8.58: That Is Our Kismet!

Week 42/Sunday

One of the many reasons I adore Auntie Paize.
She's one of two family members who autonomously water the garden and spray for bugs.

To celebrate my Ricardo's new wardrobe, I invite him on a breakfast date to Shimuzu.

While requesting a table, I run into Ashaya Venkataraman.
He'd also been possible spouse for me but we didn't know when he'd become a young adult.
In fact, he's still a teenager. He's kind of cute but…

I'm head over heels in love with Ricardo.
He's adorably shy and modest but I like his quiet nature.
It's no surprise that he's friends with our children.
But he's also friends with my father and even Scamp.

Virtua: Thank you, Ricardo, for becoming a vampire so you could wait and marry me.
It must have been difficult to leave behind your life in Selvadorada.
Ricardo: It was hard living in that dark, empty house for months, especially after my father died.
But now my life is filled with light, love, and family. I should be thanking you.

Ricardo: Would you lighten up with the parenting tips already? We're on a date, dearest!
Virtua: Hah! We earned our gold medal about an hour ago. (4 points)
Since then, I've been smooching with you just cuz.

Scamp: Wow, Virtua! Two walks in three days! What's the occasion?
Virtua: When I was small, Grandpa Bull told me a story about you.
He said his grandfather once promised you that you'd live on the beach someday.
Scamp: Oh yeah! That was Bull's grandfather Jet Lee, the Gen4 heir!
Living in Chateau Frise with the family has been like a dream come true!

Virtua: Well, here's my promise to you. We'll stroll the beach as often as I can manage.
Scamp: Awwww, Virtua. That's so sweet of you.
Virtua: *feels the love

Monday

In the morning, I become good friends with both Stud and Baer. (6 points)
I feel so blessed with my household and club members!

Eight days ago, I received the Blessing of the Ancients from a treasure chest in Selvadorada.
And it's still being passed around among family, friends, and strangers wherever I go.
In fact, a lady sitting next to us at Shimuzu yesterday caught it from Ricardo.
Since Paize has the Blessing, I try chatting with her but it doesn't pass to me.
I wonder what triggers its transmission. Is it just random?

Everyone's doing so well! Paize brings home her third raise as an Extraterrestrial Explorer.
Both Ricardo and Bubb earn promotions today, too! (8 points)

As par for our dynasty, we are earning points too fast.
I do what must be done! (7 points)

While trying to decide whether to hire a gardener or nanny for tomorrow, I go out back.
Clubmates will tend the garden if it's selected as a club activity.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first Lee household where family members autonomously garden?
(Talking to plants does NOT count as tending the garden!)
My garden doesn't really need tending but I hire a gardener anyway. (6 points)

Tuesday

The boys age up into adorable toddlers.
Our resident stud muffin is angelic but he's got that swagger!
Independent Baer has a mischievous look in his eye!

I'm thinking that our dynasty might be cursed now.
Three generations of single births AND three redheaded adoptees.
Is this just chance or are there larger forces at work? (Pippin?)

If the Fates are kind, Stud Lee will resemble his father, not me.
Do you think my hopes are unfounded?

As for independent Baer, he throws a fit because he doesn't like to be told what to do.
Okay, little guy, I won't ever give you potty training again.
Disciplining his fit of anger causes me to master Parenting. *sighs (8 points)
Look at the little demon spawn and his devious expression.
Just kidding. I'm sure he's just going through a phase. *crosses fingers

That's right! I've done exactly what you'd thought I would do! (7 points)
Our next free day is scheduled for Thursday, and not a day earlier!

Wednesday

Yes, my childish Ricardo occasionally plays with the boys' toys.
I don't mind. He works in the garden every day for several hours.
That frees me up to teach Stud or earn money for the household in other ways, like painting.

I decide to keep the butler another day. (6 points)

Scamp: You know, with the toddlers, I wasn't sure whether you'd still have time for me.
Virtua: Is it enough for you that we jog at the beach every other day?
Scamp: That's more walks than any other heir has done, Virtua.
I appreciate that that you're making time for me, so thanks!
Virtua: Hey, I'm enjoying out time together at the beach, too, you know!

The smile of the stud muffin. Need I say more?

Here I am, getting to know Eden Ray, who'd been a teen for around six generations.
But after our watcher moved her into a house, she aged up into a young adult. (Not sure exactly when, though)

A cat-loving insider as a teen, Eden Ray has since also become a music lover.
Sadly, I will be removing her from my club very soon.

Thursday

Early in the morning, I finally master Archaeology. (8 points)
I have such a huge backlog of unauthenticated artifacts from the Artifacts Association.
Now I can finally start catching up!

I'm also glad to finally master Handiness! (10 points)
Up to now, I've just been replacing any broken objects to avoid the points!
Okay, folks, time to start our free day!

Stud: Mama, after I wake up, a mysterious force pulls me to the kitchen.
There, I see a lady with lavender skin and long curly hair. Her hair is black like mine.
She whispers to me: "You and I were born to fall deeply in love. That is our kismet."

Mama, what does "kismet" mean?
