Faina is lovely and wonderful...and wasn't in this one nearly as much.  Scamp, however, got some screen time as he continues to be the glorious leader of the Lee household (the Lee-de, perhaps?).
The decision making process was an interesting aspect of this update and I really enjoy how you included your mindset and options as part of the update.  It's always fun to see how the Watcher's thinking through things  ;=)

The end is in sight! Poor Faina, just when she thought she was finished with chess. And using pets to keep the aliens out is good.
@MarianT
Thanks again for giving me the motivation to play this challenge before the Seasons' release.
Pets have needs of their own but nothing as engrossing as a toddler. I hope...

I was hoping you'd lean toward adopting a cat.  Not that I don't love the dogs, but they seem to be high maintenance in your game.  And Dale's name works perfectly with Lee.  No need to change it!
@BallerinaHippo
Pets in general are very time-consuming endeavors in this particular challenge because the pet care isn't shared by the entire household, for one thing.
The pet traits also definitely make a difference. Things have worked out better while living in Brindleton Bay, mostly because the walking/jogging with dogs only behaves right in the these three neighborhoods. The 12-hour "short walks" in Windenburg Countryside are now a distant nightmare... Life with pets is great now. :D
I'm sorry to say that I changed Dale's name in view of his traits.

Faina is lovely and wonderful...and wasn't in this one nearly as much.  Scamp, however, got some screen time as he continues to be the glorious leader of the Lee household (the Lee-de, perhaps?).

@PeregrineTook
Faina appears a little more in the following update and will dominate the remaining updates after that.
Haha, I loved your pun! Scamp as Lee-der of the Pack, lol.
Well, thanks for finding the decision-making process of interest. It's all about freeing up Faina's time so she can focus on her museum contributions, though there's also the furry cuteness factor. *coughs

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 9.68: Points Begone!
« Reply #437 on: June 18, 2018, 05:14:08 AM »

Scamp: Do you want another puppy, Sage?
Sage: I do, Scamp! I really and truly do!
Scamp: Well, don't get your hopes up…

9.68: Points Begone!

Week 49/Friday

Faina: Since I'll be the active heir in less than two weeks, Papa says I can talk with you all.
Do you mind?

It's 2 am when I complete Rambunctious Scamp.
Should we go out in the middle of the night so I can start Social Butterfly? Heck yes!

Faina: Well, South Square Café is a bust. I need to meet three more people!
Stud: Hey, you met two baristas, so your glass is half full!

Faina: Papa, I thought you were going to introduce us to a cat?
Stud: Yeah, maybe next time. Dale couldn't make it tonight.

Faina: At Willow Creek, I only find this cos-player at Magnolia Blossom Park.
But when I introduce myself, he counts for two people. Whatever, I'll take it!

Grim: What are you doing here in the wee hours, little one?
Faina: I need to boost my Social. This saloon is both convivial and a cat hangout.
Grim: I can understand why you'd want convivial, but why cat hangout?

Faina: Oh that's for Papa. He's been down at the docks, waiting for some cat to arrive.
Stud: There you are, Dale! Where have you been?
Dale: I've been catching up on my beauty sleep. Sup?

Faina: Thanks for being my first adult friend, Grim!
Grim: Um, yeah. The pleasure's all yours.

Faina: Why so serious, Papa?
Stud: I'm thinking really hard about adopting this cat.
Faina: He's gorgeous! Does he need to be walked or bathed?
Stud: Nope.
Faina: Let's go for it!

Dale: Check out this pose, Watcher! Stud will be my slave in no time!
Hmmm, I see this isn't your first rodeo! What are your traits again?
Dale: I'm a curious, mischievous prowler.
Uh huh, trouble is your middle name…

Faina: Why so many cat screenshots! I'm the future Lee heir, you know!
Eden: Because you're too repetitive: socialize, cloudgaze, socialize, cloudgaze…
Faina: I know, right? I’m even boring myself!
But at least add a shot of Jorge! He's really handsome.
Sorry, Uncle Baer, I'm going to marry Jorge instead!

Faina: Papa, check out Gengo Nakamura! He's a rainbow sim like me!
Not only that, he knows the secret handshake.
When I grow up, I might need to have two husbands.

Our free day ends while I'm still cloudgazing with Gengo.
There! I'm done with Social Butterfly! (2 points)

Saturday

Faina: My friend Grim comes to take my Grandpa away.
Papa says Grandpa is going to a better place. Where is that, exactly?

After sunrise, Papa goes out to look for his feline friend, Dale.
Instead, he finds a different cat named Fabbo, another glutton!
As he compares Fabbo and Dale, his decision to adopt Dale wavers.

Then, to escape this dilemma, he does what any reasonable sim would do.
He phones the Kennel to request that yet another cat be brought over.
This Burmese cat is friendly, playful, and talkative. Still, Papa wavers.
What's wrong with adopting a low-maintenance pet?

You see, Papa cannot forget his curious, mischievous prowler.
Despite his traits, Dale and Papa had hit it off immediately. In fact, they're good friends already.
Papa, please adopt him already so we can get on with the weekend. Sheesh!

Oh yes, we renamed our new household member Sly.

Faina: Nice move, Papa! I definitely don't mind fishing here in Selvadorada.
Stud: After all your efforts this past week, you deserve more than Desert Bloom Park!
Faina: I'll say! Oh, hey! When are you going to tell me why we're often fishing?
Stud: Oh that? *whisper, whisper, whisper

Week 50/Sunday

Faina: While the rest of us are sleeping, Papa sneaks back down to the marketplace.
There, he chats with the local vendors until mastering Selvadoradian Culture. (4 points)
I'm not sure how that helps with his Friend of the Animals aspiration, though.

It is a veritable battle of the wills!
Papa lectures Sly Lee about jumping on counters, but Sly jumps on the fridge and ignores him.
The second time, however, Sly relents and learns not to jump on counters.
Show him who's boss around here, Papa!

Scamp: Wut? No Jungle Dawg?
Stud: Nah, we're giving that a rest this weekend. This is a no-exploring vacation.

Monday

Stud: Only three more days to hang out like this, Scamp. Will you miss us?
Scamp: I have to say that you've been the best heir from my perspective.
Stud: I've made an effort to go on walks and jogs with you as much as possible.
I've noticed that you haven't run away even once since we moved here.

Scamp: Speaking of noticing, is someone looking at our butts?

Faina: I thought I'd have free time once I finished my aspirations.
But Papa keeps encouraging me to learn more.
I don't mind really, since I get to visit different places.

Tuesday

Baer: Thanks for welcoming me home, Scamp!
Scamp: Gratz on earning a promotion AND maxing your career! (7 points)
You gonna quit your career now?
Baer: What's the point? I'm a never weary neat sim with a steel bladder.
What would I do at home all day, cook and clean? No thanks!

Wednesday

Stud: Teaching Sly not to beg for food earns me 1,000 satisfaction points. (8 points)
I send Sly off a-prowling just to enjoy the sight of his sleek form cutting through space.
He is truly a beautiful creature.
By the way, Sly is a Savannah cat, not a Bengal.
Both are cross-breeds between a domestic cat and either an African Serval Cat (Savannah) or an Asian Leopard Cat (Bengal).

Thursday

Stud: To think that today is Faina's birthday. This is our last jog together, you know!
Scamp: I will miss hanging out with you, for real.
Stud: And don't forget! Faina needs to prioritize her museum contributions, Scamp.
Scamp: Yeah, yeah. I'll explain that to Sage, too.

It's time at last for Faina's teen birthday!

After her makeover, I enthuse about iambic meter with her and max writing. (10 points)
That's it, people! Let's make this dynasty's very last free day matter!

Update Notes
   • Among all the heirs, Stud spent the most time jogging and walking with Scamp. Compared with recent heirs, Stud also hired fewer NPCs.
   • On Wednesday, Stud noticed that Fabbo the cat had aged to an elder. So he invited Fabbo over and gave him an Age-Down Treat.
   • Virtua Lee's age bar is bubbling, so Stud spayed Sage just in case.
   • This challenge concludes the moment that Faina places her portraits of household members and her collection in the Lee Museum.

Hooray!!  The last heir has aged up!  And she aged up quite beautifully (which surprises no one, I'm sure).  Hopefully both of her husbands also age up well ;=)
I rather enjoyed Faina breaking the fourth wall to complain about the amount of animal spam in the updates.  Quite an amusing bit of interaction there!

Lot of exploration in those last days for Faina, how much of her museum is already complete?

She grew up beautifully.

And Welcome Dale-Sly Lee. Heart doesn't always choose easiest, but not runaway or counter stuck cats aren't causing much trouble.

Also, I'm a bit jealous of your rainbow sims.

I hope Scamp and Sage will help her complete this beautifully

@PeregrineTook
Faina might be the prettiest Lee heir and, thankfully, she hasn't given into to all the foot-dragging, angsty teen mood swings so far.
You realize I'm quite the sloppy watcher in terms of preserving the fourth wall, don't you? I mean, how would she even know about all the cat screenshots?!
Still, I love Faina and I love the cats because they're new and sparkly.

@Tynynounours
By her teen birthday, Faina had not yet started her museum collection at all.
She spent most of her childhood leveling her skills, while visiting various locations because we have too many screenshots of Desert Bloom Park already, hehe.
Sly Lee is such a gorgeous cat! And you're right. I was very nervous about adopting a cat again because of Gent getting stuck on the counters.
Now that Faina is the heir, I'm surprised at how much time Stud had been spending with Scamp, Sage, and Sly. (it seems that I prefer "S" names for pets, lol)

Very last free day? Wow cant really believe this will be the end. Faina is still so lovely as a teen.

@LenaLJ
Yes, I'm very, very close now. In fact, I have only one more sim-week left after the following update.
Faina aged up to a teen who is every bit as lovely as her mother, Eden. And we've been lucky that she hasn't been a difficult teen, either.
Sadly, the pets are constantly falling ill. But Faina still intends to wrap this challenge up with a little flair! :D

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 10.69: Ain't Misbehavin'
« Reply #442 on: June 18, 2018, 11:06:04 PM »

Sly Lee: Me and mah cat tree!

10.69: Ain't Misbehavin'

Week 50/Thursday

Faina: Before I forget, Papa, would you snap a photo of me?
Stud: Sure, Faina.
Faina: Not exactly the look I was going for, Papa.
Maybe you could just "take a photo" instead of "take a photo of..." me?

Faina: It feels like there's so much I need to do!
Is this the way every new heir feels?
Papa already snapped photos of Grandma Virtua and Granda Ricardo.
So I take everyone else's photo then ask Papa to mentor me while I paint.

Friday

I take Friday off and head to Selvadorada with Papa. You're wondering why?
I only need 500 more satisfaction to buy Creative Visionary, I chose the Jungle Explorer aspiration.
The first two tiers shouldn't take me much time!
Haha, look at Papa dancing the rumbasim as if he's thinking, "Oh yeah, I'm killing this!"

Sly Lee wasn't invited along to Selvadorada but he came anyway.
And I have no way of sending him home!
He's giving Scamp serious competition in the "looking good in the jungle" category!

Of course, Sly catches some illness. (How are there even squirrels in the jungle?)
So we're off to the vet as soon as we get back home.
I wish I could treat Sly myself. It took hours to get him to the exam room!

As for me, I end up not being able to recover from a poisoned dart.
After unsuccessfully trying to cook some bone dust, I buy an antidote off the computer.

Saturday

When I get home from visiting friends, I see Grandma Virtua out front.
Noticing she has her arm raised, I take off like a flash with Scamp.
Before returning home, I give him a short walk for good measure.

I'd met and befriended Fabbo the cat yesterday morning.
When I see Grandma is no longer with us, I travel with him to the Sporting Space lot.
Rest in peace, Grandma Virtua. Thank you for making room to adopt Fabbo!
We are an eight-member household once again. And, of course, Fabbo is ill, too.
Darn my bad luck!

Watching the veterinarian at work really motivates me to learn to treat our pets myself.

When I get home, all I find is Grandma Virtua's urn on the sidewalk.
I wait for an hour, hoping to take a photo of Grandma's urn without the nanny.
But, weirdly, the nanny just stands there forever without moving. Gah!

By the way, since Fabbo is affectionate, I renamed him Snugg Lee.
And, through some strange coincidence, Snugg is a Bengal cat. Score!

Week 51/Sunday

I spend the morning at Perfect Balance Spa, taking yoga classes.
Well, yes, I could also practice yoga at home.
But when I'm home, I spend so much time asking the dogs and cats "What's wrong?"
They are fully capable of taking care of their basic needs, so it's more peaceful here at the spa!

Monday

It's nice to see Scamp and Sage playing together!
Isn't that the whole point of owning two dogs?

Tuesday

Scamp: Don't think you're fooling anybody, missy!
I see your blessing of the sun and your poison-induced mottled skin!
You've been to Selvadorada again, right?
Faina: You're absolutely right, Scamp. Frankly, I'm afraid to take you with me.
What if you get sick again? Unlike Papa, I have zero Vet skill, you know.
Scamp: I'm willing to take my chances, Faina.

Scamp: Is this the right moment to say that you're only acquaintances with Sage and me?
And yet, you're already friends with both cats, whoever they are.
Faina: Sly Lee's the thinner yellow one and Snugg Lee's darker with leopard spots.
Scamp: Whatever! *shrugs

Faina: Okay. You wanna make a quickie to Selvadorada right now?

Scamp: Eh, what are Eden and Snugg Lee doing here?
I thought this was gonna be a Jungle-Dawg-with-Faina-Lee adventure?
Faina: Hey, I didn't invite them but they came along anyway. Is it is cuz I'm still a teen?

Scamp: Aight, young lady. Let's see if you can teach this old dawg some new tricks!
Hah, doubtful!

Scamp: Oh, sharp! Teleporting to the gates!
That's new to the Lees but not to the watcher…

Faina: Well, we've reached the temple!
Snugg, you were already nearby so I brought you here, too. Did Mama go home without you?
Oh, nooooo!!!!!

Faina: You both have the spinning stars and drooling mouths! Don't tell me.
Did you both get bit by squirrels?
Well, tough luck! We're not going home yet.
That's what you two get for fighting with the squirrels!
Still, I'm sorry that you're both feeling poorly.

Wednesday

Faina: No thanks to you two, I'm done exploring the temple.
I have school in two hours. You both ready to go home?

Faina: As for you, Scamp! Curse of the Jungle Dawg, my plumbob!
Consider this your last trip to Selvadorada yo!
Snugg Lee: Don't blame me for wanting to tag along. I'm affectionate, remember?
Wherever you go, Faina, I want to come with. <3

Snugg: Is this safe? Didn't you start with zero Vet skill?
Faina: But I have the quick learner trait! Look, I can perform surgery already!
I hope you appreciate that I'm leaving for school an hour late just for you, Snugg!

Stud: Your teen birthday was six days ago and you'll be a young adult in another week.
How's everything going, my fair Faina?
Faina: Everything's working out perfectly (except for the pets getting sick all the  time).
Stud: Really? I worked hard to prepare you for your teen years, so I'm glad to hear that!
Faina: Yes, things are working out just like you planned, Papa.

Stud: So is your collection completed?
Faina: No, but I have 7 out of 10 items already. I'll be done by the weekend.
Stud: What about your portraits? You haven't even started painting them, have you?
Fained: You're right, I haven't. But I have enough time left to finish them all. Don't worry.

Stud: Incidentally, you don't discipline Sly and Snugg at all, do you?
Lately, they're really taking advantage of your laid-back attitude by misbehaving.
Faina: Eh, let them misbehave! They're not hurting anyone by sitting on the table or eating people food.
Besides, I'm busy trying to hustle up another 500 satisfaction points.

Update Notes
*Having four pets with one controllable sim might not have been the best plan but I couldn't resist adopting those two beautiful cats.
Moving in two homeless young adult sims might have been easier, though.
*The thirteen-day teen stage where the new heir works on their museum stuff has been my favorite part of every generation.
Which is ironic, since it's the most anti-challenge phase of this challenge because the actions of the uncontrolled sims become irrelevant. Oh well.
*I'm in the process of deciding on my next challenge already. I'm leaning toward the...well, you'll find out next week or so, I guess.
*One last update to go!

ooh so close. I love the teen years of putting together the museum collection too. It provides a nice change of pace between working for points.

Faina is doing such a great job of ushering her poor, exhausted Watcher into the HoF  ;=)
The cats are lovely!  Snugg with the whole "I came because I just want to be with you" thing...oh my goodness!  So cute!
All the issues with jungle sicknesses make me glad I haven't bought that expansion.  Not yet anyway  ;=)
Congrats on all you've done and on being so close to the finish line!!

I thought the fishes would be the museum collection, but it's because I aim for varieties in collection more than price.

Faina is really lovely as teen, and a hard working sim.
And Scamp who manage to get his Selvadora trip but get sick. Selvadorian squirrels are dangerous beasts.

Yes, the stress-free teen years where everyone else can wet themselves and pass out all they want! Lol.
Thank you for reminding me of that song. I ended up watching CeCe's youtube video plus the version from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. :D

Hahaha, thank you for your constant support of this poor, exhausted Watcher. Where would I be without you?
I'm not sure what's going on with the jungle sicknesses. It only seems to happen when I bring multiple pets.
You say that now about Jungle Adventures but once you have installed Jungle Adventures, you will love it to pieces! ;-)

We all aim for variety in our collections because each collection must be unique.
In Faina's case, her grandmother Virtua Lee already had a fish collection.  Thank you for your enthusiastic comments!

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 10.70: Faina Lee, Finished!

10.70: Faina Lee, Finished

Week 51/Wednesday

Faina: I end up making one last trip to Selvadorada.
Although I leave alone, of course, Mama and Snugg must tag along.

I don't know why Mama bothers to come.
She ends up going home (again), leaving Snugg by himself in the villa.
But I don't mind having Snugg along, that cutie!
And he manages not to get sick this time!

Thursday

Scamp: Who are you, anyway?
Skeleton: You don't recognize me? I'm Eden!
Scamp: Faina and her Balampalsoh Death Relic?
Skeleton: Yep.
Scamp: It could have been so much worse!

Eden: And what's your story?
Scamp: Faina extracted my excess cuteness. Can't you tell?
Eden: So that's why! I was wondering why you weren't as cute as usual.

Stud: So I know the turquoise skeleton is my wife, but who's the black skeleton.
Eden: That's my clubmate, Kayaan.
Stud: Does that mean you finished Jungle Explorer?
Eden: Nope. And I have enough satisfaction now, so I'm done with that aspiration.

Stud: Dare I ask what your mother is doing, Faina?
Faina: Looks like she's dancing while using two brown skeletal arms like maracas.
It's best just to ignore her, Papa.

Stud: I'm glad to see that you've finally started on your portraits.
Faina: All that's left now is school, painting, the usual housework, and pet care!

Faina: I've added my grade-school crush, Jorge Underwood, to my club.
He aged up into such a hunk. He didn't even need a makeover.
Gengo didn't age up well at all.
So, it looks like I'll be fine with just one husband after all, Papa.
Stud: It's for the best, dear.

Papa and Jorge bond over their Fabio hair.
I decide that Snugg could use a little discipline after all.

I hear that affectionate cats like to stay close to their owners, but really?
Snugg couldn't be more in my face if he tried. Still adorable, though.
Also, I learn that my future husband is an unflirty genius.
Does that mean he's less likely to be unfaithful? I could live with that!

Sly comes home from who-knows-where, all filthy and smelly.
He runs to a corner of the kitchen and immediately begins cleaning himself.
It's nice that Sly's so hygienic but why did he have to come to the kitchen?
That's where I am with my family and clubmates, so we all have the Skunk Scent moodlet now.

Scamp: I can't believe you used my post-surgery cone of shame as an excuse to leave me behind.
Faina: It's not like I snuck off without you, Scamp. I didn't actually invite Snugg, either!

Friday

Friday, at last! I'm very eager to push through to the end of this challenge now.
Snugg gets stuck on the kitchen table while I'm away at school today.
We have to travel to a different lot together to get him down from the table.

Also, a stranger phones to notify me that Angela Escobar passed away.
Angela is just an acquaintance, one of the vendors I met at Selvadorada.
So why do I have a two-day Sad +2 Mourning moodlet?
I need that like I need a hole in the head.
I guess the death notifications is a post-patch thing?

Saturday

Scamp: Thanks for giving Sage and me our Age-Down Treats earlier today.
I hadn't realized you could craft them.
Faina: I can't. But I bought a half dozen of them during our last trip to the vet.

Scamp: So how does it feel, Faina? Are you excited about being done?
Faina: Part of me is insanely thrilled to be this close to finished.
But another part of me wishes I could get married and have a family of my own.
Scamp: Awwwww…..

Faina: Don't tell Scamp I said this because it will hurt his feelings.
But our watcher is head over heels in love with Snugg Lee.
I mean, what are the chances of running into a stray Bengal cat?

Sly Lee is also a gorgeous creature. How amazing that we found both strays!
Both a Savannah stray and Bengal stray in our own neighborhood!
I really regret that the time I've had with my feline friends has been so short.

Week 52/Sunday

This is my final portrait and I'd really like Uncle Baer's painting to come out well.
He's always been so good to me!
And now I must abandon Uncle Baer, my childhood crush, for a younger man!

It's 3 am when I'm done with my museum stuff, so I drink a Moodlet Solver and head for Newcrest.
When I arrive at the Lee Museum, I place the gravestones of Grandma Virtua and Grandpa Ricardo.
I'm humbled by the sight of all the souls who dedicated so much effort for this very day.

Next, I hang up the portraits of everyone in our household.
Sorry, Papa, but I beat your family record for the highest-value portrait collection.
My portraits are worth $64,022.

And finally, I place Papa's portrait with those of the founder and other heirs.
And beneath them, I arrange my collection of rare treasures.
Thanks to Papa's foresight, I have the costliest collection at $92,422.

And this marks the end of this Townie Dynasty with Leeway!

My sincere thanks to all of you, both commenters and silent readers, who accompanied me on this strange and silly journey.

THE END

Congratulations to The Lee family and to oshizu for completing. What an amazing accomplishment. That was quite the collection Faina had there.
