Outstanding progress!!  Of course, with Maja bringing in ancient Nordic rituals to ensure success, how could anything possibly go wrong?  ;=)
The wonderfully romantic moment when the groom's headband matches the bride's dress.  And here I was looking for someone else to also be wearing a headband for "the matching headband."  Silly me!

@PeregrineTook
Thanks for your kind words. You know and I know that I really try to avoid the romantic stuff...I just don't feel comfortable writing it.
Way to ruin the romantic moment with silliness, right?

@LenaLJ
I hated that we had to wait until dark, but I couldn't let anybody take the day off, haha.
Magnus shows up in this following update, too. I had to find someone for Hakuto, because he was hanging around Magnus very closely at the wedding. :D

Sharebears 4.35: Party People

Friday is Love Day!

4.35: Party People

Week 12/Thursday

Hakuto: I'm the only one off today, that is, besides Mama who's retired.
I complete Renaissance Sim so fast, I even astonish myself.
It's done the instant I finish reading my third book.
You've guessed, no doubt, that I've started on Nerd Brain.

Today's promotion allows me to enter the Politician branch.
This headband doesn't really go well with my suit, does it?
Whatever! My contingency is voting for my platform, not my headgear!

And here I'd believed I was a natural bee whisperer.
They usually like me more than this. I wonder what's bugging them?
What is the point of keeping bees anyway? Is there a bee-related scouting badge?

Ikura and Maja bring home promotions this afternoon, too.

My daily task requires that I secure two votes.
Hello, Papa. Hello, Mama. How would you like to vote for your favorite politician?
Gee, this is too easy!

Jaga: Gee, Hakuto, we're all so busy! Why did you pick Bodybuilder?
If you'd gone Pro Athlete, you wouldn't need to mentor fitness.
Hakuto: You think I didn't think of that?
After a few more promtions, my work hours will be closer to everyone else's here.
That gives you more time to work at your vet clinic, right?

Maja's feeling anxious about her Business career because it requires maxed Logic.
She doesn't need to worry. All her housemates can mentor Logic.

After the four of us finish our daily tasks, I open my vet clinic for the first time.
My very first patient's owner looks at me with skepticism.
But hey, relax ma'am. Your cat only has fleas!

I'm surprised to see my sister Fugu, who's brought Ragnar in for an exam.
Sadly, my former companion Ragnar and I are no longer even friends!

Fifty Shades of Spay doesn't earn much today.
I didn't have a single chance to use my surgery station!
But I did earn enough points to buy half of the possible perks.
I've hired two of my siblings as assistants, though Twain seems like a mistake.

Friday

Today is Love Day!
Maja dear, we will go on our date after we're both done with work!
After that, finishing your Party Animal aspiration should be the household's priority.

Edamame: Thank you for coming over, Yesenia.
Yesenia Ponce: I remember you introducing yourself to me at Selvadorada. Why am I here?
Edamame: There's someone that I'd like you to meet…

Hakuto: Well, hello there! My name's Hakuto. You're even more beautiful than Mama said.
Yesenia: Aren't you the sweet talker? And what's with that distractingly skimpy top?
Hakuto: Eh, our watcher got sleepy and saved/exited the game while I was at work.
But enough about me, here are some flowers for Love Day!
Yesenia: How sweet of you. I'd like to give you a Love Day gift, too. *hands Hakuto a rose

Yesenia: Are you using me for practice because this is your family's first holiday?
The gift of flowers, the romancing, and now this date?
We're BFFs now yet you don't ask me to move in. Why not?
Hakuto: In a perfect world, we would have children before you move in.
You could move into Chateau Frise with Papa and my sisters.

Edamame: We don't understand how the gold-status holiday celebrations work yet.
After a smoldering date with Jaxton, I achieved gold status before giving him flowers.
Later, Hakuto achieved gold status without even going on a date.
After the date, though, his celebration status looked exactly the same.

Hakuto: Once I've maxed my career, Yesenia, we can form our own household somewhere.
I know we've just met and I hope you don't feel like I'm rushing you.
But would you make a leap of faith and marry someone like me?

Yesenia: Hmmm, that's quite a risk you're asking me to take.
Marrying a man I just met who's handsome and intelligent with a perfect physique.
Yes, yes, yes! And now, I must leave to prepare for my move from San Myshuno.

Maja: Jaga thought I'd thought want to give birth at the hospital, but nope.
I opt for a home birth because I've got three parties to throw.
Tonight, I gives birth to two lovely little girls.
We name them Kirsten and Liv.

Maja: I throw my first party at The Lighthouse, where Magnus lives.
I see my brother has already found himself a fine-looking lady friend.
All Maja and I know about her is that her name's Jaqueline.

Don't be surprised that I invited two vampires to the party!
I first met them at our wedding, because Jaga invited them.
Akito, the one standing, looks very sweet. You wouldn't guess he's a vampire.
Orfeu, on the other hand, looks unmistakably like a vampire. Is that even his dark form?

Saturday

Next, I throw an incognito costume party at the Shrieking Llama Bar.
Jaga, Hakuto, and I have a half dozen Happy+ moodlets right now.
So I want to avoid any parties that require sims to get Playful.
This party was quite unfocused. As you can see, almost half the partygoers are outside.

I throw my third party at Chateau Frise, where Papa, Fugu, and Yesenia live.
What a horrid idea! The territorial raccoon Ragnar fights with the guests.
Meanwhile, the dog Quest stumbles around drooling due to squirrel scratch fever.
I end the party and return home just in time for Hakuto to leave for work.

Maja: Aren't we cute in our domestic help costumes?
Jaga: This date was your fifth social event at a unique location.
Grats, sweetheart, you've reached the last tier of Party Animal.
Maja: Does it bother you that I've caught up to you? You're at Tier IV, too?
Jaga: Nah, Friend of the Animal is my third aspiration, so I have lots of satisfaction points.
Go ahead and finish your aspiration first, Maja.
Maja: Thanks! I need 12 more dates but only 2 more gold-medal parties.

After four more dates at home, we get our daughters' birthday notices.
They age up with my black hair and Maja's grey eyes.

Kirsten is inquisitive, while Liv is independent.
They're not identical twins but they're both cute as heck.

Legacy Score: +1 (77 points)
Athletic (0): Completed Best-Selling author (still missing 6 aspirations)
Popularity (+1): 151/150 gold-medal points

@LenaLJ
Yes, both girls benefit from the genes of a beautiful mother!
Do you think I lowered the chances of the twins inheriting blonde hair by changing Maja to that two-tone blond/pink hairstyle?
Well, Magnus and Jaqueline should definitely have an all-blond brood. ;D

I never do the Party Animal aspiration unless I roll it, haha. I was really afraid that Maja and Jaga would get hysterical, and tried to prevent that.
When I realized that the Seasons-related points were for a legacy holiday, I canceled Love Day around 10pm so Maja could throw a party.
She complained (in a notification) that: "Love Day was awful!" Sorry, Maja!

I love how Maja just kept soldiering on with one party after another even with a raccoon attacking guests!  That's dedication!

@BallerinaHippo
I'm not a huge fan of Party Animal because it gets very repetitious but it's a legacy must-do and also does wonders for the Popularity category.
Since Pinstar says we are free to change lot traits whenever we want, I tried using the Party Palace lot trait. Oddly, it didn't make my life any easier, haha.
It's fun seeing all the extended family and friends on one lot. I guess I should encourage my Sharebears to be more sociable. ;D

Sharebears 4.36: Monsoon Season (30 June)
« Reply #262 on: June 30, 2018, 10:09:24 PM »

My lovely wife, Maja!

4.36: Monsoon Season

Week 12/Saturday

Jaga: I run around on errands during the remaining hours of spring.
Deciding I want my collections on a separate lot after all, I rebuild our museum.
After moving our completed collections there, we head for Willow Creek.
This should have been done long ago, but we finally build a cemetery.
That domed mausoleum is, of course, for our founder.

Week 13/Sunday

And then summer arrives!
The new calendar is so useful!
At a glance, we see that one of the four of us is working on every single holiday and birthday this year!
According to the new ruling, we've added two holidays.
One commemorates the start of this legacy, the other marks our founder's passing.

This is not at all how I'd envisioned summer.
It's more like we're living in the tropics during the monsoon season!

Naturally, a torrential downpour doesn't deter Maja from trying for two gold-medal parties.
We have an indoor dining room plus sheltered seating in the great room and back patio.
But our vampire guests and a very pregnant Jaqueline (Magnus's wife!) prefer to sit outdoors.

Maja throws two dinner parties. The first one earns a gold.
The second one has only one party goal remaining: Tell two jokes.
Since Party Animal is Maja's aspiration, she takes charge of that last goal.
It takes her at least two hours to buckle down and tell those two jokes.
For one thing, the vampire pun she boldly shares with Orfeu doesn't count!

Finally, Maja tells her second joke and earns her second gold-medal party.
And now we should switch our attention to our daughters.
Instead, we summon Grandma Edamame and a nanny to help with the girls.

Date after date after date!
What hardships I endure for the sake of our legacy! *grins happily
Only five more left now…

Our poor butler, Tetsu!
I didn't know that bees would randomly fly around in the greenhouse.

Of course, Maja and I feel terrible about leaving the girls on their own.
Inquisitive Kirsten doesn't seem to mind, though, especially after her Uncle Hakuto's home from work.

Independent Liv, as you might guess, prefers learning on her own.
I wonder if they would have been blonde if Maja's hair weren't two-toned?

As Maja ends her 15th social event (including those two parties), she finishes Party Animal!
Also, we earn an achievement for completing all the base-game aspirations.
What's left? Outdoor Enthusiast, the three vampire ones, and my Friend of the Animals.

To make up for lost time, Maja and I each read to one of the girls.
Well, yes, I'd really like to be working at the vet clinic or on my aspiration...

But tonight's not the best time to be out and about.
I can't really picture myself at Deadgrass Isle, seeking two ghost pets to play with.
In fact, I can't even be bothered to visit our local beach to make more pet friends.

Sadly, we've robbed our girls of the chance for a serious education.
But we still have a little time to make up for it.

But not a lot of time, mind you, since their birthdays come in three days.

Monday

Yesenia: What's the big idea adding me your legacy club in the middle of the night?
Hakuto: Sorry! I just now noticed that I'm a father! Can you move in now?
Yesenia: I just abandon the kids to the care of your father and your sister Gari?
Hakuto: The sooner you move in and help out, the sooner we can move back over there!

Yesenia: What exactly will I be doing? Do I need to switch careers?
Hakuto: I hope you don't mind quitting your Detective career.
You won't need to get another job, just helping with the kids, gardening, stuff like that.

Yesenia: The weather finally seems suitable for summer! A gloriously sunny day!
The garden, however, seems confused and disorderly.
As a Freelance Botanist, I guess it's my duty to straighten things out.
I'm growing all the flowers as individual plants for now--no useless grafting. *rolls eyes

Yesenia: Since you're feeling so friendly today, Scratchy (Patchy?), I'd like to ask you a question.
How long do these money trees take to grow anyway?
Hakuto's father Jaxton bought and planted the seeds before he moved out.
That was 4 days ago and these seedling have barely grown!.

Jaga: Mama suddenly remembers that she's never completed Bodybuilder.
Now's the time, since her elder birthday comes in three days.
Papa is nowhere near as helpful as when he lived with us.
But it's good to have him around the house all the time. Maybe he feels like cooking?

Tuesday

Since the girls wake up past midnight, I bring everyone to Deadgrass Isle.
We're the first Sharebears to visit this island we can see from our backyard!

After ensuring that everyone's productively engaged, I jog off to the cemetery.
Nope, no ghost pets here. Maybe if I check out the lighthouse area?

While I'm standing around waiting, two ghost dogs come walking my way.
Of course, this is the moment I choose to get stuck and never see one of those dogs again.

A little while later, I do run into an angry ghost cat who's willing to play with me.
But she isn't interested in becoming my friend, darn it.
I'd really hoped to make my 12th friend here! (If only Ragnar hadn't forsaken me...)

Back home, the sun's up and we're reading to meet a new day!
Kirsten and Liv will earn the Happy Toddler trait when they age up tomorrow.
It was honestly all that Maja and I could manage while juggling so many goals!
I've just successfully negotiated a bonus and I'm off to get ready for work.

Due to all the micro-managing, we're moving very slowly this generation.
Having four sims on different work schedules is madness, but we're getting things done!

So much rain!  I would expect rain to be more of a Spring thing, but maybe Sims weather is different.   ???

Congrats on finishing Party Animal so quickly (or at least it seemed quick to me).  That's one of my least favorite aspirations.  Like you, I only do it when I have to.

@BallerinaHippo
My seasons are only a week long and the summer has been unbelievably horrid! It's been more like rainstorms than spring rains.
Half the days, everyone had tense moodlets from the thunderstorms and they had to stay indoors. Grrrr
There are only three aspirations that I try to avoid as much as possible: Party Animal, Friend of the Animals, and Outdoor Enthusiast.
Compared to the last two, though, Party Animal is relatively likable and that's saying A LOT! ;D

Sharebears 4.37: I Can't Stop the Rain
« Reply #265 on: July 02, 2018, 07:40:10 AM »

4.37: I Can't Stop the Rain

Week 13/Tuesday

My name is Yesenia Ponce. I was born and raised in Selvadorada.
Hakuto and I are engaged but I hope that changes soon.
Everyone in this household is always rushing around.
Hasn't anyone noticed that I still haven't had a makeover yet?

Since I'm the newest member here, I thought I'd narrate today.

On a good day, summer in Brindleton Bay differs little than before we had seasons.
I prefer warm weather, so my ideal would be to live somewhere tropical.
Like Selvadorada. The things we do for love, right?

Our gardener is upset because she can't enter the greenhouse.
Obviously, I'd locked her out so that I could build my own gardening skill.
Chill out, lady. It will unlocked when you arrive tomorrow.

Patchy: Dear me! What would Hakuto say if he saw you with your hands in my pockets!?
Yesenia: Stop making something out of this that it ain't. Folks might misunderstand.
Patchy: Exactly!
Yesenia: I'm just examining your pockets for seeds! Oh, and thanks for the scarecrow outfit.

Well, of course, I'm wearing the beekeeper's suit! I watched the livestream, didn't you?
It seems that, besides gardening,  I'm also in charge of the bees.
In fact, I haven't interacted with the children at all (yet).

Yesenia: How do you still have 27,150 satisfaction after buying so many reward traits?
Edamame: I've maxed the most skills and aspirations in this legacy so far.
It helped that Papa Benicio had the Big Happy Family's Patriarch trait.
Yesenia: Have you decided how you'll be spending all those points?
Edamame: I'll buy  4 money tree seeds and one re-traiting potion, just like Jaxton did.
We need to earn those two items fair and square, don't you think? No cloning!

For those four new seeds, I build a fenced garden behind the greenhouse.
We now have eight money trees going. And one of them has finally matured.
Is it possible, I wonder, to have too many money trees?
Also, two money tree seeds were planted at the same time, but only one's grown. Why?
Incidentally, I tried adding a roof to this area but without walls.
It had the same effect as the greenhouse; the money trees appeared "sheltered."

The potential heirs are simply beautiful.
Kirsten (left) has more feminine features, perhaps.
Liv (right) is just as pretty but in a more tomboyish way. What do you think?

My fiance Hakuto is off trying to complete the fishing collection.
Meanwhile, Ikura seeks the last missing artifact from that collection.
I feel sad that Ikura is the only brother who is still single.

But Hakuto insists that, since Ikura is a loner, he's not romantically inclined.
Notice how all Ikura's Love Day traditions were grayed out?
(But their father Jaxton's a loner too and being a loner sure didn't stop him…)

Soon after Maja returns from work, Hakuto phones in our wedding party.
We hold it at the same place where Jaga and Maja got married.

To marry the sim I so love and live with his caring family…
I'm sure that I've never been happier in my life.

Never, that is, until we catch sight of our children.
I have not seen them since they became toddlers.
Santini is the quickest--he wobbles up to me right away.
Javier looks the happiest, while Alexa could not be cuter.

Since we are all off this evening, Hakuto phones in a toddler play date right after the wedding.
Oddly, our triplets arrived by themselves with only Ragnar the raccoon as their escort.
Don't tell anyone else but I'm relieved that ornery little critter left.
Santini with his red shades could use a makeover…

Wednesday

When it's time for the girls to age up, Hakuto, Jaga, and Maja are already at work.
And since there seems to be enough merry-makers, I continue bonding with the bees.
Happy birthday, girls!

Ikura: Before anything else, the girls both join the Scouts.
Look at all the different badges to collect!
I'm rather jealous that scouting wasn't around when I was a kid!

We can't give the girls make-overs until their mother comes home.
Don't you think they look a lot like they did as toddlers?

Kirsten: A scarecrow's watching TV with Uncle Hakuto and that nanny I hate.
Our household has received so many toys as birthday gifts, so I give a toy to the scarecrow.
Why do I hate the nanny?
As a toddler, she made me walk all the way across the house to ask her to teach me blocks.
But as soon as I arrived, she announced that "our time was over." Ugh!

Thursday

Jaga: For old time's sake, I invite Ragnar over and we become friends again.
I really wish we could have kept Ragnar but the getting-stuck bug was too much.
Thank you for being my 12th pet friend, Ragnar!

Kirsten: I'm a music lover and an aspiring artistic prodigy.
Liv: I'm a genius and an aspiring rambunctious scamp.
And yes, today has been another summer day of torrential rain and thunderstorms.

Jaga: In the evening, Mama ages up to an elder.
We decide to go the cake route because she's always mourning the death of one sim or another.
Like, ALWAYS! (It's getting really annoying that we're constantly mourning.)
Thanks for helping me master the Veterinarian skill, Mama!

Friday

Kirsten: Look, Papa! I've earned five badges already!
Jaga: That was fast! Are you even working on your aspiration?
Kirsten: I finished Artistic Prodigy already and started Whiz Kid this morning.
Jaga: Girls, you both need to forget about the badges for now and focus on your aspirations.
Don't forget you can still work on the badges as teenagers!

Jaga: Can you believe that I still haven't finished my aspiration?
The bad weather has kept me from meeting new pets down at the beach.
But so far, I have "felt the love" with six different dogs, counting this one.
Only two more and I can kiss the Friend of the Animals aspiration good-bye!

I love the lightning picture. It's a shame the family didn't enjoy it. Not pluviophiles.

I'm sure the girls' education won't ultimately suffer. These days I'm far less concerned about proper parenting during childhood, because most can be put right as a teen.  I feel like there's quite a lot of things to do for quite a few of your sims.

Outdoor Enthusiast isn't that bad! I've found herbalism to be more useful than when it first arrived in the game what with moody teenagers and adventuring. Ah. Too many money trees. Yes. For the purposes of money, I'd say you've got enough. :)

Nothing has yet inspired me to do the Friend of the Animals. I applaud you. In normal play, the carrot isn't big enough to tempt me. Some Carrots do.
It is a little thing of my own. I call it "Heart Foam". I shall not publish it. Farewell! Patience, Patience, farewell!

Exit Bunthorne.

Oww, cutes toddlers! I have two questions.
Is it only Edamame and her sons' generations who have food names? Or do Kirsten and Liv also means something like that?
And second, did you (re)named Yesenia's children, or did they recieved selvadoran names spontaneously?

Good luck for Jaga on his aspiration, you're nearly there!

@Heart Foam
Thank you for appreciating that lightning shot! It took dozens of attempts to capture it.
As you know, pressing "C" upon seeing the lightning is too late. One has to anticipate the lightning, hehe.
My sims don't mind a light rain but feared the thunder and lightning. They are not, apparently, ceraunophiles. ;D

On short lifespan (which, by now, everyone is tiring of hear me say), the toddler stage last only 3.5 days.
So spending one of those days on completing the Party Animal aspiration was a little worrisome, except...
I'm perfectly fine with Happy Toddlers. Not going to suck all the fun out my simming for anything more, hah!
As for childhood, I had to tear myself away from scouting badge acquisition so the girls could complete their aspirations. Ahem.

I love the Herbalism skill and the Insect Repellant ointment is so useful for jungle exploration.
But being the impatient sort, I hate the "Sleep 5 nights in a tent" goal, lol. That's the only thing I dislike about that aspiration.

The Legacy Challenge awards a point for completing every aspiration at least once.
This is the first time I've gotten so close to finishing Friend of the Animals. It's such a chore!
Come to think of it, I don't even know what the bonus trait for completing it would be.
Thanks for reading!

@Tynynounours
Haha, you caught me twice!
I had every intention of using Japanese food names for the entire legacy.
But thanks to LenaLJ's Danish twins, I ended up reading historical fiction and other references about the Viking Age. Then I gave them names that are popular in Denmark.
It was so much fun learning something new, you know? I'll probably do something similar in Gen6, since the LeBlanc twins seem to be Louisiana Cajuns (French descent).
As for the names of Hakuto and Yesenia's children, Pinstar's Legacy rules forbids us from playing other households.
The children's original names were Samuel, Santini, and Alexa. So I went into Manage Households and renamed Samuel to Javier.

Ugh, Friend of the Animals!!! You know, Jaga even has the Dog Lover trait.
Still, after becoming friends with a dog, it still takes him around 2 more hours to become good friends and then to Feel the Love.
And thank you! The important thing is that we're close to finishing that darn aspiration!

So much going on! I have to go back and re-read it all again. Those babies, they are just too much. Patchy is the best. I'm in love with him. He irritates Colt so it's all good. :)

Those money trees, gimme gimme gimme

Now that my seasons are 14 days, I can try to work on more gameplay items.
I need to try that Nordic ritual. LOL Oh, my I almost rolled in the floor at that.

Those bees, do you think they would like Colt?
