Again a cute toddler play date, its just so adorable.
Kirsten and Liv are really pretty children too, and such good scouts, but you did rob of us the chance for a screenshot with them in their scout uniforms :O

Also happy for Yesenia that she get some love, what a pretty generated sim there.
Edamame old, but still looking so good.
You are really on a good roll here.

So much going on! I have to go back and re-read it all again. Those babies, they are just too much. Patchy is the best. I'm in love with him. He irritates Colt so it's all good. :)
Those money trees, gimme gimme gimme
Now that my seasons are 14 days, I can try to work on more gameplay items.
I need to try that Nordic ritual. LOL Oh, my I almost rolled in the floor at that.
Those bees, do you think they would like Colt?
@sdhoey
I'm not sure what you mean by "gameplay items."
As for the ancient Nordic ritual, one of the Jensen twins will surely give your Gen4 heir an initiation upon being moved into the household. ;D
I can't say about Colt and the bees. It seems like my Sharebears' bees are usually angry, lol.

@LenaLJ
I have several shots of the girls in their scout uniforms, just for you. ;-)
Yesenia is a really beautifully townie and her children with Hakuto are growing up quite nicely, too.
I really don't want to have to work on four careers every generation but that's how it works out...

Sharebears 4.38: To Bee or not to Bee?
« Reply #272 on: July 05, 2018, 05:58:31 AM »

4.38: To Bee or not to Bee?

Week 13/Friday (Spring)

Jaga: I'm absolutely determined to complete Friend of the Animals today.
Most of the dogs I've met up to now have already passed away!
Thanks for letting me feel the love, Sadie!

Hakuto: Whoa, you're really gung-ho about dating today!
Yesenia: I'm simply trying to make my contribution to your legacy, darling.

Jaga: Thank you, Siya, for helping me finish my time-consuming aspiration!
I wish I could cure what's ailing you, but you'll have to stop by the clinic!
I'm done! I'm done! *runs into the house, flailing his arms happily

Yesenia: Well, that was our fourth gold-medal date, dearest.
Hakuto: You wanna do Soulmates with me, Yesenia?
Yesenia: I think I'd rather finish Bodybuilder first, like you.

Kirsten: We're pretty awesome Pegasus Scouts, aren't we?
Liv: We're so awesome that I can hardly stand it! Only three more badges to go!
Kirsten: Hehe, I only have two more badges left…

Saturday

Jaga: We all come to Desert Bloom Park today for Hakuto's Angling Ace aspiration.
Mama, didn't you already complete that aspiration?
Edamame: No, our founder Sherilee did.
Jaga: Well, our fish collection keeps resetting so I'm keeping one of each fish in a fishbowl now.
Edamame: Hey, did you notice that we can't catch frogs from that pond anymore?

Kirsten: I worry that the Outdoor Adventuring badge is broken for fishing.
But once I master the Mental skill and can learn the Fishing skill, its icon appears.

Liv: How can we be "missing" our scouting meeting, Kirsten?
Kirsten: Beats me, Liv! It's only 2:05 pm, sheesh!

Liv: What did you think of our scouting meeting today?
Kirsten: It's confusing! I never even noticed we had performance bars until today!
Liv: Yeah, I guess we should just focus on earning badges, hey?
Kirsten: Yeah, especially since tomorrow's our last meeting before our teen birthdays.

Week 14/Sunday (Fall)

Jaga: Hah, look at Hakuto, all civilized and carrying an umbrella as he leaves for work!

Jaga: So far, we haven't been terribly impressed with the "seasonal weather."
Where's the fall foliage?
And, I swear, it must rain in Brindleton Bay at least every other day.
We'll need to fish at sheltered spots if we hope to complete our fish collection.

Jaga: I could have sworn that I tended the money trees yesterday.
But this morning, I find one dead. Thankfully, I can revive it but it costs me $1,000.
At least now I know that these trees are sensitive to bugs.

Just when we finally had four mature money trees, too! *sighs
And where was our oh-so-useful Patchy whose perch gazes onto the money trees?
Thanks for stepping down off your perch and doing nothing, dude!

Kirsten: I'm the first Sharebear to become a Llamacorn Scout!
A Llamacorn Scout receives a new Expert Scout uniform, I hear.
So I change out of and back into my scout uniform, and…nothing.

Kirsten: Even after we get back from our scouts meeting, my uniform hasn't changed.
See? Both of us are in the same uniform, even though Liv's still a Pegasus Scout!

Jaga: As soon as the girls are home, we rush off for the last two hours of the Flea Market.
The quartz crystal missing from our crystal collection continues to elude us.
And there's not a single poster to be found! What a bust!

Jaga: Mama gets excited for a second, thinking she's found a viable spouse prospect.
Oh please, Mama! First of all, his looks aren't bad but two of his traits aren't unique.
Secondly, no daughter of mine will bear children with a pear.

As soon as we get home, Liv earns her final point and maxes scouting, too.
Excellent job getting that done before your teen birthdays, girls!

Today's the adult birthday of my brothers, Maja, and I.
Each of us buys a Potion of Youth and ages back down to a Day 1 young adult.

Jaga: The girls only need three children as friends to finish Social Butterfly.
Hakuto: No worries. I'll invite our kids over.

Kirsten: We are so unlucky, Liv!
Liv: I know, right? The two cutest boys in our whole school are our cousins!
Kirsten: And look at Alexa! She's that pretty and she didn't even need a makeover!

Week 14/Monday

Jaga: Hakuto's kids are an attractive bunch, aren't they?
But check out Kirsten and Liv in their rainy-day apparel.
Maja and I are so proud of our girls!
How will we ever find boys who are worthy of them? *wrings hands

Apparently, I spoke too soon about the lack of fall foliage.
I guess the leaves don't all immediately switch to autumn mode (like my garden plants did, pffft).

Hakuto: This is what I'm talking about!
The kids are on vacation today but, otherwise, we all start our day at 8 a.m. now!
Everyone, that is, except Ikura, but he only works three days a week.

Maja: Hakuto, Jaga, and I all bring home promotions today!
Jaga and his brothers only need a single promotion to max their careers.
I'm still at Level 8 of my career but I started out without Connections.
Considering I began at Level 1, though, I've kept up with those three just fine.

Legacy Score: +1 (79 points)
Athletic (0): Completed Friend of Animal (missing: 4 aspirations)
Nature (0): maxed Scouting
Popularity (1): 202/200 gold-medal points

Household Status
Edamame (Gen3 heir): Elder, retired
Hakuto: 11 days to adult, Athlete/Bodybuilder 9
Ikura: 11 days to adult, Author/Writer 9
Jaga: 11 days to adult, Politician/Politician 9
Maja: 11 days to adult, Business/Investor 8
Yesenia: 9 days to adult; unemployed
Kirsten: 2 days to teen, Scouts 5
Liv: 2 days to teen, Scouts 5

Coming next: Teen birthdays plus the vote for the Gen5 heir

Like the others, I'm much impressed by the lightning screenshot -- it's really superb. The scout uniforms are cute. I wonder if the Llamacorn uniform is the one with badges on it? I've seen children walking around with their badges on their shirt, but your two kids have blank shirts despite having earned all the badges.

Kirsten and Liv in their raincoats are adorable.

Happily, we complete our feather collection!
Thanks so much, Ragnar!

Sorry, had to do it. I have never played Assassin's Creed II (or any Creed game) but I know a lot of people have hung themselves over that ** feather collecting sidequest. ;D

Great story! I really enjoy how you started implementing Seasons and I need to find out where to get that amazing wedding chapel and insert it into Newcrest for my own (undocumented) legacy!  :D

And a good job on all the careers.
The children of Hakuto and Yesenia are also jsut so cute.

And congratulations on the Friend of the Animals aspiration.

Congrats on finishing Friend of the Animals.  I don't think I've actually completed that one with any of my Sims yet.  It's the "share the love with 8 different animals" that makes me give up.  I guess I'll have to do it with one of my Sharebears eventually.

Kirsten and Liv look super cute in the scout uniforms.  And I can't believe how good-looking all three of Hakuto and Yesenia's kids are.  You really lucked out there.

@MarianT
Now that you mention it, I also remember seeing teens walking around with all the badges. So I checked in CAS, but didn't find the Expert Scout uniform with badges.
Carl also mentions not getting it in his Scouting Guide page, so perhaps the missing uniform is a bug?
Playing week-long seasons is not such a great way to experience the Seasons DLC. The weather is constantly changing.

@Tynynounours
Unrealistically, it takes longer to "Feel the love" with a dog than to "Secure a vote" from a sim, lol.
Yes, I'm so glad Friend of the Animals is behind me. And now, I'm ready to try "Sleeping in a tent for 5 days" but without buying the Never Weary trait first, lol.

I've also never played Assassin Creed but that Ezio is a good-lucking fella. We'd share our feathers with him anytime.  ;)
Thank you for reading!
As for the wedding venue, I credited the creator at the end of the update when my heir got married there.
It's the no-cc "Resort Wedding Lounge" by sensexxx, downloaded from the Community Gallery. Let me know if you can't find it.

@LenaLJ
I feel a little depressed that I'll need to complete 4 careers every generation for the rest of my legacy, lol.
If my sims weren't drinking one Potion of Youth each at the end of their YA stages, they would be finishing their careers during their adult stage.
So I'm trying to decide now whether I should stop having them drink Potions of Youth or not. :D
I kicked and screamed my way through Friend of the Animals, but you were finished with it in a blink of an eye, it seemed!
Have you already earned all the vet clinic's perk points, too?

Congrats on finishing Friend of the Animals.  I don't think I've actually completed that one with any of my Sims yet.  It's the "share the love with 8 different animals" that makes me give up.  I guess I'll have to do it with one of my Sharebears eventually.

@BallerinaHippo
Haha, I'd never finished Friend of the Animals before either. I started it once during my Ten-Gen Townie Dynasty, but that challenge didn't require me to actually finish it.
That "Feel the Love" goal wouldn't have taken so long if I'd already made good friends with 8 animals in advance.
After becoming good friends, Feel the Love only takes another hour or so to appear, haha. My problem was that I waited to make 8 good friends AND feel the love until the last minute.
Also completely forgot about the feather collection. Don't repeat my mistakes, lol.
Now that the Scouting Aptitude trait offers another 25% skilling boost, I have even less incentive to work toward Top-Notch Toddlers...Hah!
You will soon meet Kirsten and Liv as teens. I'm also really curious what Hakuto/Yesenia's kids will look like as teens.

Sharebears 4.39: Wacky Weather + Gen5 Heir Vote
« Reply #279 on: July 07, 2018, 02:49:45 AM »

4.39: Wacky Weather + Gen5 Heir Vote

Week 14/Monday (Fall)

Jaga: Here's an overhead view of my vet clinic, in case you've never seen it before.
The indoor greenery is a useless extravagance perhaps, but we like it anyway.
We only have a single vet employee now, since I asked Hakuto to fire our brother Twain.

There's not much available in our vending machines at the moment.
Just some Age-Down Treats and Ambrosia Treats.
We're just running the clinic to earn the perks, not to make a financial killing.

Here's our status at the moment I open our vet clinic today.
Hakuto is helping out with patients this evening since his Vet skill is maxed.
Hopefully, we'll do better than we did on our first day.

When the clinic first opens, I focus on securing my last 5 of 20 votes for my final promotion.

Of course, I'm also treating patients with the help of Hakuto and my vet employee, Cinca.

Can you believe the nerve of some pet owners?
After we cured her pet cat, this klepto had the chutzpah to swipe one of our paintings!
The painting wasn't even insured yet!

So here's the status from my first two days of running my vet clinic:
              Hours open   Customers            Profits
Day 1           9 hrs                   8              $835
Day 2             13 hrs                 14           $4,100
With two max-skill vets and one employee, we obviously earn more profit per customer.
That's because Hakuto and I work faster than Cinca (my employee). (And we sold some treats, too, no doubt.)
I should probably have Cinca only craft calming medications for us.

I don't know…maybe it'd be easier and faster to raise our combined household/business funds to $5.7 million…

Tuesday

Jaga: Today's another cloudy day but at least it isn't raining (so far).
Since the girls' birthday come tomorrow, they're using their three vacation days this week.
A music lover, Kirsten asks Grandma Edamame to mentor her in violin.
A genius, Liv goes to the beach with Uncle Ikura to fish.

I still don't get the point of having Patchy around.
He only helps boost gardening skill and gives a few seeds here and there?
That might be useful for a newly started household but that surely doesn't describe us.
As for cleaning up, we have a butler to do that.

Our watcher has Yesenia practice collecting a swarm of bees to pollinate particular plants.
Again, we don't particularly need to do this for our own garden.
We are just experimenting with all of the new gardening features.

Yesenia: Are we really going to move out as soon as you max your career, Hakuto?
Hakuto: Have you cloned enough stuff for the next generation already?
Yesenia: Um, no.
Hakuto: We'll move out as soon as I'm Mr. Solar System AND you're finished cloning, okay?

Jaga: Way to go, Ikura! You're the first of our generation to max a career. What's next for you?
Ikura: Naturally, I'm going to quit my job and live like a gentleman of leisure.

Today's been really rough for all of us, because Papa Jaxton passed away this afternoon.
In fact, I'm so sad that I can only greet my patients impatiently.
Once I drink a moodlet solver, though, I'm able to greet them warmly once more.

Wednesday

It's so warm this morning that Mama changes into her hot weather garb.
Mama, of course, mourns the loss of our father Jaxton most of all.
She drinks a moodlet solver, too, then begins working on our many dirt clumps.

She's the one who uncovers our last missing artifact!

The girls age themselves up as soon as they receive their "Celebrate birthday" notices.
As firstborn, by a few minutes, Kirsten blows her candles out first.

Besides Music Lover, Kirsten adds her mother's Insider trait.
She retains that feminine look from her toddler days and childhood.

Besides Genius, Liv adds the Loves the Outdoors trait.
She has that same boyish look from her younger days.

Kirsten: Ugh, we have to wait until our parents get off work for our make-overs!
I'm an aspiring Renaissance Sim so I've started to read my three books.
I've chosen skill books: Vampire Lore, Mixology, and Cooking.

Liv: Would you help me with my school project, Uncle Ikura? My responsibility's not within range yet.
Ikura: Let's pick a project that boosts handiness. That will be useful for us both.
Liv: Uncle Ikura, why couldn't I be pretty like Kirsten?
Ikura: Looks aren't everything, Liv.
Liv: That's easy for you to say! You, Papa, and Uncle Hakuto are all identically handsome!

Yesenia: Due to the rain, I hadn't been able to use the climbing wall or basketball hoop all week.
I'm so excited to finally use them both today for my Bodybuilder aspiration.
Um, except of course it starts snowing. What the heck is wrong with our weather, anyway?

Please cast your vote for the Gen5 heir!

We have two heir candidates for the fifth generation of this legacy.
This means that, regardless which one is chosen as heir, both sisters will remain in the house.
Their fifth generation will challenge two important objectives:
(1) Complete four more unique careers, and (2) max the four remaining aspirations.

Consequently, two vampires will move in on our girls' young adult birthdays, one of whom will be the primary spouse.
As their father, I ask that you choose the heir candidate whose genes you'd like passed on to the next generation.
(Incidentally, I maxed my Politician career this afternoon.)

Kirsten Sharebear

Base Traits: Music Lover, Insider (YA trait: Foodie)
Bonus Traits: Happy Toddler, Scouting Aptitude, bonus traits from all 4 childhood aspirations
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim
Skills: Logic 10, Charisma/Violin/Piano 8, Fishing 6
Future Career: Culinary/Chef
Future Legacy Contributions:
*She can't complete Renaissance Sim as a teen but will insta-complete it on her next (YA) birthday.
*Completing her aspiration before Liv does, Kirsten will max the two Fortune aspirations then start a vampire aspiration.
*By maxing the Chef career, she can earn the last point in the Food category.

Liv Sharebear

Base Traits: Happy Toddler; Genius, Loves the Outdoors (YA trait: Family Oriented)
Bonus traits: Happy Toddler, Scouting Aptitude, bonus traits from all 4 childhood aspirations
Aspiration: Outdoor Enthusiast
Skills: Logic 10, Charisma 9, Fishing 6
Future Career: Gardener/Botanist
Future Legacy Contributions:
*Liv rolled one of the four remaining aspirations, so we'll try to complete the 3 vampire aspirations in her generation, too.
*She'll be a teen in 7 days, so can't complete her aspiration's "tent sleeping" goal before then.
*Since the Chef's work schedule is erratic, Liv will enter a career with a schedule close to school hours.

How interesting that Liv has the same traits as the founder!  Kirsten got great traits, too.  One of them has had my vote pretty much from the time they were toddlers, though. Have we already met the two vampires that will move in?  At Maja's parties?

Congrats on finishing two more careers.  Sorry to hear about Jaxton's passing.

@Tynynounours
Thanks for being the first to vote! Very much appreciated!
Yes, I was surprised at how different the twins look.
According to MCCC, the Maxis default for the chance of multiple siblings to be identical is 33%. I've left that setting to the default 33% value. ;D

Yes, I was also quite surprised that Liv rolled the exact same traits. Also, every generation, I've had one heir candidate who's rolled Loves the Outdoors.
Very observant of you to mention those vampires. The girls become young adults in four more days, so we'll be meeting them again very soon.  ;)
As for Jaxton passing, the girls have been to school twice but are so sad that they have yet to boost their B to an A grade.
I don't even want to think about Jaga and Ikura, mourning every pet they ever treated at the vet clinic. *tears hair and gnashes teeth

Sharebears 4.40: Veterinary Victory (+Gen5 Heir Vote)

Which daughter looks like which parent?

4.40: Veterinary Victory (+ Gen5 Heir Vote)

Week 14/Wednesday (Fall)

Edamame: It hardly seems worth getting up in the morning anymore.
What is my life without Jaxton?
I'm absolutely sure that Jaga will remember that the Bird of Paradise is my favorite flower.

Jaga: There you are! I've been looking all over for you!
Edamame: And now you've found me.
Jaga: I have a gift for you, Mama. I've hand-wrapped it myself!
Edamame: Who doesn't love receiving a gift?

Jaga: Mama, what's happening? Why do you have a "Gift of Betrayal" moodlet?
I found this Bird of Paradise floral arrangement in our Inspired Studio.
Edamame: Just as I thought you would, son.
I scented it with a Death Flower… I knew you would remember my favorite flower!

Edamame: What the heck are you doing, Jaga? You are ruining my death scene!
Jaga: Sorry, Mama. I'm busy reacting to the first snow…
Edamame: Well, hurry up and stop lagging. It's not like we can reshoot this!

Jaga: Mama, Mama! How could you trick me into giving you those flowers?!
Grim: Hasn't anyone ever taught you about timing, Jaga?
You completely destroyed your mother's exit and nearly spoiled my entrance!

Apparently, the weather changes whenever I reload this legacy.
Jaga has the "React to First Snow" moodlet from when I last saved this game.
But after reloading, the weather suddenly became scorching hot. And yes, it's autumn.

Hakuto: Gratz on earning the Long-Lived trait, sweetheart!
Yesenia: I'm not sure whether it's a blessing or a curse.
The longer we live, the more people we meet, and the more time we spend mourning…

Maja: After coming home with my Level 9 promotion, I visit the Wishing Well.
My once-in-a-lifetime wish for a career promotion is as good as granted.
All I need to do tomorrow is show up to work on time!

Jaga: When we visit Chateau Frise to retrieve Papa's urn, I find the urns of Quest and Ragnar, too.
I take all three urns with me to our family cemetery in Willow Creek.

Jaga: We place our parents gravestones side by side.
Then, I remember that tomorrow is Founder's Love Day, which commemorates the day our founder passed away.
I decide to move Mama's gravestone back into my inventory. Sorry, Papa!

Quest the dog and Ragnar the raccoon were both gluttons.
So instead of flowers, we've left them bowls full of their favorite kibble.
It's very late now, but we head for Fifty Shades of Spay, anyway.

Thursday

We close the clinic as soon as our family holiday begins.
I place Mama's gravestone on the grass in front of the clinic.
What does our family holiday's Remembrance tradition require, I wonder?
Maja proceeds to mourn Mama Edamame.

Jaga: I try to avoid a Sad moodlet by reading the gravestone's epitah.
But that doesn't complete the tradition, darn it.
Oh, I see! I need to choose an action with an icon that matches the holiday!
There'll be time enough for us all to perform the Remembrance tradition later.
For now, we need to rush home, pronto.

Jaga: Maja and I have just enough time to try for baby before she leaves for work.
She informs me that she is eating for two!
We didn't think through the timing of our third child's birth at all.
But a son would be nice, don't you think?

Jaga: We're back at the vet clinic when we learn that Maja has maxed the Investor career.
We're all so proud of her!
Closing the clinic to take a short break, I rush home with my brothers and Yesenia to congratulate Maja.

Ikura: Originally a loner sim, I would have ignored the Remembrance tradition.
But thanks to the Re-traiting potion that Yesenia bought me, I'm no longer a loner!
I'm the last household member to earn the gold celebration status for Founder's Love Day.
That's our first point in the new Seasons category!

Friday

Jaga: As of this morning, our clinic needs to earn only 6,000 more perk points!
But I've promised Liv a trip to Granite Falls this weekend so she can start on Outdoor Enthusiast.
I thought she'd be more excited, but she can't seem to shake off her mourning. Poor girl!

Ikura: I don't know how much help Maja will be today!
Jaga: Hakuto may be at work, but Yesenia's Vet skill is already Level 5.
She can help us treat patients until Hakuto gets off work!

Maja: My brother Magnus has three blond children.
I'm hoping our son will be blond. I've even changed my hair color to be all blond.
It's the thought that counts, right?

Maja: Folks, meet our little boy, Mathias Sharebear.
Mathias: I'm so traumatized! My birth was delayed for a sick dog with blue fur and a red nose?
Maja: Everyone's working hard to earn the remaining clinic perks so that your life will be easier.
Mathias: So I can lead an easy life? Hmmm, I like the sound of that!

Kirsten: I've learned six skills past Level 8 already.
Now all I need is my next birthday and I'll be done with Renaissance Sim!
One of my skills is cooking, of course, since I plan to enter the Chef career.

By the way, I'm not sure what the big deal about honey is.
I tried baking a honey cake and it's not even that pretty!

Saturday

Jaga: My single employee quit days ago. We didn't need her at all, quite frankly.
My brothers and I run the clinic with 3 exam tables and 2 surgery stations.
Maja and Yesenia either craft calming medications for the exam table or help clean.

We'd bought all the useful perks first, except Well-Managed and Vet Coat which cost 10,000 points combined.
So we now have enough perk points to the last two perks for the vet clinic.
And, we weren't trying to boost our rating, but we managed to reach 5 stars along the way.
It took us until the evening to finish. But can I just say that it feels great to be done?

As soon as we get home, I sell off 50 Shades of Spay for $98,231.
Our watcher bulldozes the lot, switches it to Residential, and places a family home on it.
We'd planned to go to Granite Falls this morning, but we'll be leaving tonight instead.
Naturally, I'll jet back to get Mathias as soon as he ages up to a toddler!

Legacy Score: +2 (81 points)
Fortune (1): Earned all perks for a vet clinic
Nature (0): Death by flowers; maxed Author, Politician, Investor, Bodybuilder
Seasons (1): the household's active members all earned gold-celebration status on Founder's Love day

If you haven't voted yet, please help choose the next-generation heir of my legacy.

Catching up on all the Sharebear stories has been so much fun - I'm really thrilled that I finally get to vote in one!  I so wanted to vote for Edamame, but of course I was way too late, having just started reading a couple days ago.  I'm loving your story - this idea you all had to write together is really great!  And so awesome that you've invited others to join in!  I still have several to read - it's really fun to see all the different stories started by one sim.  I'm so tempted to start one of my own!  But right now, I'm off to vote and off to bed!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful story!
