7.75: One Tiny Secret

Week 22/Saturday

Tarlock (center): We've almost earned our Outdoor Adventurer badges!
Teagan (left): Yeah, I only wish we could have gone somewhere else to fish.
Tristan (right): You know we need to stay home because Mama's at work!

Teagan (center): So now we only have two  more left!
Tarlock (right): Yep, Civic Responsibility and Keep Fit.
Tristan: I've only got one left, guys. I finished Keep Fit already.

Teagan: Welp, so much for Civic Responsibility!
Tristan: I'll just be over here, leveling my Charisma skill while you two dance.
Tarlock: Eh, our scout meeting starts in another hour, anyway.

Teagan (center): Where do you think you're going, Tristan? You're done, right?
Tristan (rear): Oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me!
I'm gonna quit scouts then stay home, haha.

Ronan: I feel like the boys' entire childhood is passing me by!
I've hardly spent any time at all with them because of my aspiration. *sighs
Today, I finally write a bestseller. How long will it take to write two more?
I'm sick and tired of being cooped up in this room by myself!

Tarlock: How did Tristan get a four-hour head start on us with the Keep Fit badge?
Teagan: As soon as he earned that high score, he danced and exercised to max Motor.
Tarlock: But we kept playing Keyboard Commander to max our Motor skill. Hmmmm…I see.

Tristan: I invite Great-Grandma Kirsten over to mentor me and become my friend.
Can you believe she wouldn't mentor me for two whole hours?
I had to chase her down, discuss her sad mood, and try to cheer her up.
Anyway, we're friends now. Sheesh.

Shiso: It's 8 pm when I finally take the boys over to the Heaton School for Girls.
Why did it take you two so long to earn your last badge?
Tarlock: It was our Keep Fit badge, Mama. You know how that goes.
Tegan: So why are we here again?
Shiso: Apart from this school, there aren't any children your own age in our world.

Teagan: We only need three friends each for Social Butterfly, so here's the plan.
The three of us each compliment and get to know two girls each. That's six girls.
Mama, please get to know the last and seventh girl.

For example, this girl is Rita and she's a vegetarian! She's a keeper!

Teagan: I believe Annabelle is a keeper, too, cuz she's outgoing like me.
Tarlock: Camilla loves the outdoors and she's cute!
Tristan: Well, I pick Corinne. She's creative.

Corinne: So what happens now? Do we, the Chosen Ones, go back with you to your place?
Teagan: It think it would be more fun to regroup tomorrow in the daytime.
Tristan: Yeah, we'll invite you out in the afternoon!
Annabelle: Cool. We'll be waiting.

Shiso (whispers): What about the other three girls?
Tarlock: The goofball, loner, and genius?

Week 23/Sunday (Winter, Day 1)

Shiso: Oh, I see you invited Aaaradhya Kumar over for my boys to befriend!
Omu: Yes, it's not too early for them to get to know her.
Shiso: I don't understand. If she's immortal, why would she retire from her nanny job?
Omu: Who knows? What's nice for the boys, though, is that she can mentor piano and violin.

Tarlock: Do you miss being an immortal vampire, Great-Grandpa?
Takuya: Not at all. I've lived a long and happy life.
It's not right that all my children, grandchildren, and great-children pass away before I do.

Tarlock: You became a mortal so you wouldn't outlive your descendants?
Takuya: Yes. Plus I have no need for immortality since my wife is mortal.

Ronan: Hey, Teagan!
Teagan: Wow, is this where you've been all this time? I wasn't sure you lived here anymore!
Ronan (sighs): Two more bestsellers and I'm outta this room! And what are you up to?
Teagan: I'm going to try chatting online to make a friend or two before sunrise.

Tristan: The next day, we wait at home until Mama is sure to get a promotion.
Then we head out to Desert Bloom Park.
My brothers and I had never visited Oasis Springs before.
After befriending creative Corinne Shiba, I'm the first to complete Social Butterfly.

Teagan: I'm next to complete Social Butterfly with outdoor-loving Camila.
Tarlock:  I somehow manage to finish Social Butterfly last, but only by an hour or so.

Ronan: I thought being invited on a family outing sounded too good to be true.
Omu: Oh, c'mon, admit it! You need logic for your career and this beats playing chess at home!
How many bestsellers do you still need, anyway?
Ronan: Only one more.

Rai: Of course, as soon as the boys finish Social Butterfly, two new children show up at the park.
One is a random NPC kid but the other is my daughter, Patrice Savalani.
I'm not sure why she's feeling very sad, but I do learn that she's active like me.

Rai: We head home as soon as Elvain gets the "1 hour until work" message.
When I invite over my son Maurice, he also arrives feeling very sad.
Look at those pointy ears he inherited from his father Vincent.
Does it mean he'll become a vampire?

By the way, I look at my children's family tree to find out why they're feeling sad.
What do I find? My Vincent's maternal grandfather is Caleb Vatore!

Shiso: Just as I come home (with a promotion), Elvain leaves for work.
Hmm, that is not the most flattering career outfit for his coloring.
Elvain: You're telling me!

Shiso: Since Patrice is visiting, I suggest to Teagan that he socialize with her.
I think he'll enjoy that more than talking or storytelling into a mirror.

After two hours, though, I notice his charisma hasn't increased at all. (Why not?)
Back to epic storytelling at the mirror for you, young man!

Tristan: Am I in trouble, Mama?
Shiso: No, dear. Papa, Rai, and I are going to take turns teaching you responsibility.
Tristan: Nice! Now I won't need to endlessly throw out trash and put toys away!

Monday

Shiso: Around 1 am, dear Ronan finally pumps out his third bestseller!
Hallelulah! Now, let's get that man started on other aspirations, pronto!
Rona: I'm free from this room, at last!

Omu: Don't you dare blow him another autonomous kiss, Shiso! I'm unflirty, remember?
As for you, Ronan, I'm glad we can all stop tiptoeing around your writer's block!
Because now I can finally ask you my question.
What's this I hear about my daughter having proposed to you on her young adult birthday?
Shiso: Papa! Sssshhhh!

Poor Ronan, chained to the computer for bestsellers lol I swear, bestsellers abound, until you hit that milestone!  Then they become scarcer than bigfoot XD

Sharebears 7.76: The Winterfest Experiments
« Reply #483 on: October 21, 2018, 06:10:17 PM »

The gorgeous Ronan! So handsome, so innocent…or not?

7.76: The Winterfest Experiments

Week 23/Monday (Winter, Day 2)

Shiso: In another hour or so, most of the household prepares to leave the house.
Today, the boys attend their second day of school.

In range to earn three character traits, Tristan practices his epic storytelling.
He's disappointed to recently learn that he can't join the Trendsetter career.

Tarlock wonders if he really needs a third character trait.
Instead, he's been spending time on skilling.
He learns logic with his grandfather as mentor.

Like Tristan, Teagan wants to earn three character traits.
He'll surely come within range for the Compassionate trait before school.

Teagan: I'm sorry I have to inject you with this thick, blunt needle, little bear!

My sister Rai and my fiance Ronan leave for work soon, too.
He's playing catch up with his Parenting skill.

Ronan has invited the boys' friend Rita over to read to her.

Elvain and I don't work today. In fact, Elvain has three days off.
He's so peeved about coming so close to a promotion.
Now he can't even negotiate for a bonus until after work on Thursday.
With that work schedule, he can't earn more than one promotion a week.

Tuesday

Shiso: Winter's pretty harsh in Brindleton Bay.
Even though we live on the beach, it's too cold to go fishing most days.
We're all getting cabin fever from staying indoors!
Early in the morning, we come out front to make snowpals.

Teagan: Those are some ugly snowpals!
Tristan: Why are they so short?
Tarlock: Do you think they get better if we make more of them?
Teagan: Oh, you mean like a hidden skill?
Tristan: Hmmmm, I don't know…. *rubs chin thoughtfully

Omu: You've been doing great at work and all, so I don't mean to nag but…
What's going on with you and my daughter? You're engaged, right?
Ronan: Well, it's been a little tricky since Elvain is jealous.

Omu: That shouldn't make any difference. Shiso and Elvain are just friends!
Ronan: Yes, well, we weren't sure how he'd react.
And, anyway, Shiso insists on a spring wedding!

Hey, you completed the Bodybuilder aspiration without the Hi-Energy Protein Plate!
Elvain: That's because you took out the Climbing Wall for me last night! Thanks!

Why do you even need the Long-Lived trait, anyway? You're a vampire!
Elvain: I feel like vampires aren't, how can I describe it? They aren't trending lately!
Kirsten and Takuya Sharebear even cured themselves!
And do you notice how this household never invites vampires over to the house?

Tetsu: I suppose you've heard all about me from your Grandpa Omu?
Tarlock: Um, not really, Uncle Tetsu.
Tetsu: Did you know I've lived here since this legacy's second week?

Tristan: Wow! You knew our founder?
Tetsu: Yes, of course. I've met met all of you Sharebears!

Teagan: So, do you have a favorite generation, Uncle Tetsu?
Tetsu: Well, honestly, I like you boys the best!
Tristan: Really? But we're just kids!
Tetsu: But you boys are the first to give me gifts and ask me to play video games!
Tarlock: Awwwwww, Uncle Tetsu!

Teagan: Did you hear that there's only 4 more careers left?
Tristan: Charity Organizer, Internet Celebrity, Musician, and…what's left?
Tarlock: Pro Athlete. That's the career I want!
What about you, Tristan?

Tristan: I was hoping to enter the Stylist career, but it's not available yet.
Out of those 4 careers, I think the Musician career would suit me best.
Teagan: Oh yeah, I can def see you sitting at a grand piano in a tux!
Me? I wanna be an Internet Personality!

Omu: Boys, will you help me decorate this tree as a surprise?
Let's get this done before everyone else gets home from work!

Shiso: Oh my, the tree looks lovely!
Omu: Hurry up, Ronan! We left the topper for you to place!

Rai: I got so caught up admiring the tree that I almost forgot!
Today's my adult birthday!
Time for me to drink a Potion of Youth!

Shiso: I still feel bad about asking Ronan to quit his high-level doctor career.
But he's been doing great in Business!

Tristan, Tarlock, and Teagan have already mixed Charisma and Logic.
Teagan has even his finished career-related skilling for the Internet Personality career.

Tristan has also mostly finished his career-related skilling for the Musician career.
That is, he's maxed Violin and Piano already. He'll start learning Comedy as a teen.

Shiso: Tarlock wants to be a Pro Athlete, but he can't learn Fitness until he's a teen.
In the meantime, Papa and I take turns sharing Vampire Knowledge with him.
He maxes that skill so quickly!
Every generation needs a family member who can mix vampire cures!

Tarlock: Grandpa, Mama is acting weird again! Why does she make those weird faces?

Wednesday

Shiso: It's Winterfest morning!
Last night, I'd promised the boys that we'd open our presents in the early morning.
We gather around our lovely tree to exchange gifts and share the Winterfest spirit.
That's when I notice Ronan following Papa out of the room...

Shiso: Why do I spy "Woohoo" in my unflirty father's action queue?
Watcher, help me! Make them stop!

How did this even happen? *cancels the Woohoo social
And why does Ronan kneel on the ground when I tell him to ask Omu to be just friends?

Shiso: The boys leave for school, even though they're already A students.
Tomorrow morning is their teen birthday.
Yes, we all know they don't need to attend grade school anymore.
But they say they'd like to know more kids their own age.

You may have wondered why this update's named "The Winterfest Experiments."
I still can't believe that I caught Papa and Ronan about to go woohoo somewhere!

So I experiment: I ask Ronan to "woohoo in the hot tub" then cancel the action.
I do this four times.
Each time, the initiator (me) heads to the hot tub first, followed by the target (Ronan).

Based on these experiments, I conclude that Papa was the one who propositioned Ronan.
What do you think?
Gah, why does my life have to be so complicated!?

I bring home my Level 9 promotion today, just as I'd expected.
Rushing back to the Wishing Well, I make a "generous offering" then a wish.
And the Wishing Well big-heartedly grants me a full promotion!
So much for the Art Critic career! *phones to quit job

Rai and Ronan also earn promotions today.
Check out Rai in her handsome Level 9 Space Ranger uniform.
And Ronan is now a Level 8 Business Manager! He's moving fast!

The Wishing Well grants Rai a guaranteed promotion.
All she needs to do tomorrow is show up at work!

Stayed tuned next time for the boys' teen birthdays! Yep, already!

Household Stats
Omu (2 days to adult): Food Critic/quit
Rai (11 days to adult): Space Rangert 9
Shiso (1 day to adult): Art Critic 10/quit
Ronan (1 day to adult): Business/Management 8
Elvain (YA vampire): Comedian 6
Tristan (1 days to teen): Scouting 5, all 4 aspirations done
Tarlock  (1 day to teen): Scouting 5, all 4 aspirations done
Teagan  (1 day to teen): Scouting 5, all 4 aspirations done

Chapter Notes
I have no clue what possessed Omu to invite Ronan to woohoo or why Ronan would accept.
Also, I have no idea when the two of them developed those pink bars. I wonder how long it's been going on? *rolls eyes
The legacy club's club activity includes no romantic socials nor spa activities.
In fact, I was trying to boost Ronan's Parenting skill by having Omu and Ronan share parenting tips with each other.
I'll need to keep an eye on them both. Grrrrr.

Omu!  What were you thinking?  Ronan is your future son-in-law!  Let's just call that a glitch and pretend it never happened.

Congrats to all the working adults on their career promotions.  Poor Elvain is stuck in the slow-moving Comedian career, but at least he'll get to stay in the house longer.

The boys are super cute and so talented.  Can't wait to see them as teens.

Haha, the boys' generation will complete the four remaining careers. That makes their choices very limited and much easier!

@BallerinaHippo
Lol, Omu is such a hypocrite! He's always outraged by witnessing the "crass acts" other sims while secretly seducing his future son-in-law!
It's hard to believe that he has the unflirty trait! And yes, I desperately want to blame Omu and not Ronan!

Ugh, that Comedian career and its pathetic excuse for a work schedule!
Bbbuutt, we don't want him to stay longer! We need room to try for a nooboo with the the Father Winter's Child trait! Lol

Omw... um, I think the autonomous woohoo must be enabled in MCCC lol So it could be a function of that, especially if you have the one option enabled that allows romantic interaction without having a relationship (I think it's something to do with flings or the like).

And no, I wasn't surprised because I wondered, once he came into the household hehehe

What a wonderfull winter update.

All careers planned out and set for the collecting, which means you nearly have completed all you wanted with this legacy right?

Cant wait for the teens, this will be a hard choice.

@Shewolf13
You are right about MCCC's "Autonomous Woohoo" setting. I checked right after I posted the update; I don't even remember now when I enabled it.
However, I didn't have "No Strings Attached Woohoo" enabled and I also don't know how Omu/Ronan ended up with pink bars. LOL
And, yes, Shiso and Ronan. Well, she's an erratic sim so of course her life is complicated but her father isn't helping.

What a wonderfull winter update.

@LenaLJ
You're right about assuming that I'm pretty much done with actively earning points for this legacy.
There are still 2 Seasons-related points that can't be earned yet, plus other points that require young adult heirs.
I won't be earning all the points but I'm fine with that.
You will be meeting the teens very soon! ;D

Sharebears 7.77: The Teens Are Truckin
« Reply #490 on: October 23, 2018, 03:48:26 AM »

7.77: The Teens Are Truckin'

Week 23/Wednesday (Winter, Day 4)

Shiso: Sis, haven't you ever thought you'd like a nooboo of your own?
Rai: What do you mean? I have twins already.
Shiso: Yes, but Vincent's the one who carried them and gave birth.
Wouldn't you like to…

Rai: Oh, I see where this is going and the answer is no! I'm married, Shiso!
Shiso: Oh come on, Rai. Just one little kid with the Father Winter's Child trait?

Father Winter arrives and we all crowd around to ask for presents.
We're the first generation of Sharebears to decorate our own tree.
And we're also the first to ask Father Winter for presents.
Why? Because our watcher doesn't celebrate a winter holiday of this kind.

Elvain: I officially hate Winterfest and Father Winter!
I have been a paragon of virtue! I only drink plasma packs.
To receive more commissions from the Artifacts Ass'n, I even boosted my Archaeology to Level 9.

But Father Winter only gives me a gift box filled only with emptiness and lies.
Meanwhile, Shiso receives a gaming mat and Rai gets an expensive stove!
So unfair!

Shiso: After everyone's asked Father Winter for a gift, Rai lures him into another room.
She gets as far as giving him a first kiss, then loses her nerve.
Soon after, she tells me that she can't go through with it. She can't betray her husband Vincent.
She also says I should give birth to a daughter if I want Father Winter's child so bad.
Oh well.

Shiso: I watch as Father Winter leaves in a puff of smoke.
I still haven't given up on this legacy having its own Father Winter's Child.
The question is…how?

Thursday

The boys all receive their birthday notices around the same time..
As usual, Tristan goes first because he's the firstborn.

It's hard to believe that my sons are already teens!

Tristan is an aspiring Curator.
He harvests plants to "Collect 10 collectibles," then we head to Willow Creek.
We have a few hours before Rai and Ronan leave for work.

Magnolia Blossom Park turns out to be a terrible idea.
Tristan doesn't spot a single dig site.
And the weather's too awful to attract sims for Teagan to meet.
Off we go to our usual spot: Desert Bloom Park. At least the weather there's always warm!

Sadly for Tristan, he doesn't find many rocks to dig at all!
Why have so many of them been replaced by those "for-pets-only digging spots"?
They're good for fossils and upgrade parts, but Tristan fails to find a single crystal here!

Tarlock aims to become a Chief of Mischief.
At the park's entrance, folks gather to listen to Rona play the violin.
Tarlock works the crowd with his mischievous socials.

As a future Friend of the World, Teagan benefits greatly from our visit to this park.
He only needs to introduce himself to one more sim now.
Our nearby Cavalier Cove should be able to produce at least one new sim!

Boys, you only attend school one day this week, and that's tomorrow.
But if you prepare well, you might manage to bring home A grades!

Elvain: Isn't this where the boys go do something else while we adults finish their school projects?
Shiso: Not this time. I want them to learn the adult skills that these school projects offer.

When we return home, it's become cloudy and freezing in Brindleton Bay.
Since Cavalier Cove is deserted, Papa invites over a friend for Teagan to meet.
Unfortunately, the girl arrives feeling very angry.
While trying to calm her down, our good Teagan discovers that she's evil. Poor kid!

Just as the Well promised, my sister maxes her Space Ranger career today.
Go Rai!

In other news, Papa and I paint portraits of the boys this afternoon.
What a handsome bunch they are!

Tarlock advances speedily with Chief of the Mischief!
I give him a voodoo doll that I'd fished up somewhere.
He binds it to our favorite ex-nanny.
I'd never seen her look so annoyed. Good times!

We've arrived at a different neighborhood in Oasis Springs.
Tarlock needs to clog three drains.
Teagan needs to meet someone new at two more places.
Tristan despairs over his lack of crystals, but he eventually finds what he needs here!

Ronan only needs seven more friends to complete Friends of the World.
He invites Orfeu Garrido over to befriend but then remembers that he's evil.
Though Ronan moves on to invite someone else over, Orfeu stays a bit to chat with Tristan.
It's really great to see Orfeu again!

Friday

Elvain comes home with his promotion to Level 7 Comedian.
He takes a big gamble and asks the Wishing Well for a promotion, receiving a full promotion.
Instead of working on Friday and Tuesday, he now works on Friday and Saturday.
Now he's got a chance to reach Level 9 by this Saturday.

At the very earliest, he'll max Comedian a week from now. *sighs

Papa and I have been inviting over every Sharebear we know who's maxed Fitness, one by one.
When each  one arrives, Teagan asks to be mentored in fitness.
That's how he befriends his Great-Grandpa Takuya, Grand-Aunt Purin, Grandma Amanda, and Uncle Elvain.
Only two more friends left, Teagan!

Naturally, the boys all bring home A's!
How strange that Teagan is the only one to come home with a rainbow over his head.
I seem to remember the same thing happening to Teagan in grade school as well.

Tristan is suffering a mood swing.
A moodlet solver gets rid of his Embarrassed 50+ moodlet like it never happened.

Dear Ronan gets home at 6 pm with his Level 9 promotion.
What's with those crossed eyes and that hand on his forehead?!
At first, I think he must feel sick and feverish.
But it turns out to be nothing. I guess?

Jogging back to the Wishing Well, Ronan receives a full promotion.
The Wishing Well has been extremely generous lately!
It's a good thing nobody will need to make any wishes until the next generation.
Congrats on maxing the Business Management career, sugar!

Legacy Score: unchanged
Nature (0): completed Space Ranger and Business Management
                 32/37 career branches

The boys grew up fast, and very pretty.

I think Tarlock's now my favorite, despite the too full lips.

And Shiso trying to convince her sister's she should have Father Winter's kid. Nope, Rai is too serious for that. But now she made friend with him, she can probably call him back to visit....

Also, the ex-nanny seems to be the perfect choice for voodoo victim.

For the dog dig sites, I found out that if you don't dig the rocks for a few sims day, they all turn into dig sites. You need to dig them and you'll get rocks next spawn time.

@Shewolf13
Haha, I really pushed them to complete their first aspirations so they'll have time for other activities during their seven-day teen stage.
We were lucky with the weekend and the adults' work schedules, too.  Rai was close to virtually lying on the sacrificial altar, though the household is currently full.

@Tynynounours
Everything happens so quickly on short lifespan. I have to make an effort to slow the story down, but maybe it's too slow?
Haha, I'm so curious about the Father Winter's Child trait but then Father Winter is not only pear-shaped but usually not very attractive.
Plus Rai has a handsome husband and two very beautiful children, so we changed our minds.
Thank you for sharing your discovery about the for-dog dig sites. I will need to change my attitude toward dig sites, thanks to what you taught me.
My household usually spends several days at each park, leaving all of the rocks to spawn for a future sim. Hmmmm.....

So pretty teens.
And again good job on completing your tasks.
You are really wanting that winter child huh?
Haha, you will learn in my next update what the household decides about Father Winter and his special Father Winter's Child trait.
Can you blame me for being curious about how the trait works? ;D
