Tarlock is the only real heir as far as I see it.
Since the Sharebear dynasty is all about the genetics, and his father is from the chosen genepool.

Therefor Tarlock must be heir by default.

Other than that he is just so cute looking :)
@LenaLJ
Actually, I don't consider Tarlock to be the heir by default.
If I did, I would have ensured that Elvain had at least one brother so there would be two "legitimate" heir candidates.
Therefore, I consider all three boys--Tristan, Elvain, and Teagan--to qualify as heir candidates. ;D

OMG!!!! I an dying. I Love me some Cap'in Jack. This was the best update yet. Good luck guys.
LOL, a fan of Cap'n Jack, are ye? *winks
Originally, half of that update's screenshots were of him, hahaha.

CJ: Wherever we want to go, we'll go!

I love that you snuck in a real Cap'n Jack quote!  Actually, maybe there's more than one, but that's the one I recognized.  Your knowledge of Cap'n Jack is probably superior to mine.

Great update, as usual.  I'm running off to vote now, laughing as I go.  ;D

Tough one between Teagan and Tristan (sorry Tarlock, but that hate's children trait is just such a bummer for legacy families!).  I chose Tristan, only because I thought his career fit his traits and I love the mustache ^^

Hehehehe, love CJ.

I'm glad you got a laugh out of that update. Once I got started, I realized that the pirates didn't have much to actually DO.
Thanks for voting!

Thanks for voting! Haha, I'm not a fan of the Hates children trait.
With 3 boys, I could easily arrange toddler playdate for heir candidates and their live-out cousins, but Talock couldn't host it. :/
I'm glad I could still surprise you! ;D

It's amazing how that moustache transformed Tristan from ordinary to debonaire, isn't it?
Haha, I wondering if all the Shareboy boys would have lost if Cap'n Jack had been on the ballot!
Thanks for taking the time to vote, Wolfie! :)

Sharebears 7.81: Gnome Is Where the Heart Is
« Reply #516 on: November 02, 2018, 09:47:28 PM »

7.81: Gnome Is Where the Heart Is (+ Heir Vote)

Week 24/Tuesday

Back home, the boys continue to nap.
Cap'n Jack Sparrow feels relieved to be back at last on the high seas.

Tarlock: So the gnome trio has regrouped in the kitchen. Now what?
Shiso: Hello, Strictly Business Gnome! Wassup?

Strictly Business Gnome: You are one fiiiiine lady, Shiso!
If you were a booger, I'd pick you first!
Shiso: Um…thanks?

Rai: Tell me why we're fishing, Shiso. Aren't we waiting for the Flower Bunny?
Shiso: Well, we all don't need to wait! Papa's taking care of it.
Rai: I'm moving out this afternoon, sis. I should be packing, not fishing.

Omu: I sat on the front porch for hours this morning, but no Flower Bunny.
But I've recently learned that the Flower Bunny rarely shows up at the house.
Instead, he/she/it hangs out around a nearby a community area.
Might as well dig for fossils while I'm waiting.

Omu:  Look! There he/she/it is, near the Cavalier Cove grilling area!
I'm also moving out today, though, so I text my grandson, Teagan.
He and his generation are the ones who should befriend the Flower Bunny.

Teagan: Me and FB, doing a hip bump behind the public restrooms!

Shiso: Teagan insists on trying to appease a gnome.
So we buy four gnomes and position them rather close to the initial 3 gnomes.

FB: It's so nice of you to push me, Teagan!
Teagan: My pleasure, FB. You're the star of our holiday, after all!

Shiso: Tarlock hears that Tristan got to appease a gnome.
He immediately insists that he be allowed to do the same.
Great, now we have eight gnomes with halos.

Teagan could care less about the gnomes.
He's off swinging with the Flower Bunny.
Look how cute they are in their faded denims!

How does one learn the Flower Bunny's gender, anyway?
Flirt it up and see if a Try for Baby option appears?

FB: Please, let me push next. I Insist!
Teagan: So, um, not to be rude or anything, FB, but what do you actually DO?
FB: For the spring holiday? Beats me!

Shiso: I'm sure you already know that Elvain is now a Level 9 Comedian.
He looks fantastic in that suit, don't you think?

Shiso: Papa is in the greenhouse looking after the bees.
Suddenly, these shimmering lights appear out of nowhere.

Oh right, the gnomes!
Gnome is where the heart is, after all.
Still, the gnomes remain a mystery.
Besides the seed packets they drop, what is their true purpose?!

Wednesday

Shiso: Papa, I thought you were planning a retrospect of your time as Gen6 heir today.
Omu: Quite frankly, after my lapse of control with your husband, I'd rather pass.
Nothing really extraordinary happened on my watch, anyway.

Omu: After Negi and I broke Amanda and her sister out of that time-warp prison, things got confusing.
Amanda no doubt felt obliged to marry me and I guess I felt the same way.

Omu: Heaven knows I tried to love her, Shiso! I'm just not attracted to women in general.
Shiso: But of all the men you could choose, Papa, why my Ronan?
Omu: What can I say? Erm, good taste runs in the family?

Omu: Anyway, now that your sister Rai's moved out, I want you to meet someone: Lamont Faust.
He's a materialistic, cat-loving foodie. But more importantly…
Shiso: Wow, you're a Level 9 Pro Athlete, Lamont! Wanna move in with me? *bats eyelashes

Shiso: Once he's moved in, I discover that he has maxed fitness but zero charisma.
No matter, Lamont. Off you go to beseech the Wishing Well.
And in a fantastic stroke of good fortune, Lamont maxes the Pro Athlete career.
Lamont: You're welcome, Shiso and the Sharebears! *takes low bow

Omu: You know I considered offering myself for a yet-unachieved death type.
But Amanda gave birth to triplets recently. Plus, I want to meet my great-grandkids!
Shiso: There's no reason at all for you sacrifice your life, Papa. It's water under the bridge.
I checked your files. You have an 80% preference for men and a 60% preference for women.
But Ronan has a 100% preference for women. No harm done!

Omu: I thought you were going to try to have Lamont burn to death?
Shiso: Change of plans. When he moved in, I discovered that his very gorgeous sisters are friends of my boys.
Omu: Lucky for Lamont!

Shiso: The boys celebrate their birthday on Thursday morning.
So tonight, they're determined to make the Humor & Hijinks Festival go away.
To pass the time, they've invited out potential spouses they met in high school.

Here are the Heaton School girls:
*Rita (standing, dark hair): Vegetarian, Dance Machine, Snob
*Camila (blond on very right): Perfectionist, Loves Outdoors, Lazy
*Annabelle (blond facing Camila): Outgoing, Perfectionist, Bookworm

We have three new young adult "contenders" as well, all gingers.
Riley Green (left) is a descendant of Chacha Sharebear and Perry Green (Gen3).
She has the Genius, Gloomy, and Geek traits.

Louise Faust (right) seems to be a descendant of Edamame's other sister Dango and Jaxton's brother Elektro.
She's a Clumsy, Good Foodie.

But the real prize is Louise's twin sister, Dianna Faust.
She has the Lazy, Slob, and Loner traits, which is quite a coincidence.
Her ancestor Jaxton Faust was a Lazy, Squeamish Loner.

We've got our Gen8 primary spouse already so we're looking for a secondary spouse.
Hmmmmm, maybe Dianna Faust could be re-traited?

Thursday

It's past 6 am and the boys have already received their Celebrate birthday notices.
As you can see, the Humor & Hijinks swag vendor is still in full swing.
We'll come back to deal with this festival mess another day. *sighs

Folks, we're going home! It's time for the boys to become men!

Legacy score: unchanged
Nature: completed Pro Athlete career branch (33/37 career branches)

Chapter Notes
Festivals: Both the Romance and Humor & Hijinks Festivals have been going non-stop for the past week or so.
Neither Repair Game nor a factory reset made much difference.
We need to return on Monday (H&H) and Saturday (Romance), I guess.
Grrrr.

Please vote before tomorrow afternoon!
The heir vote will close on Saturday (tomorrow) at noon PST.
To cast your vote, click on the link below to go to the heir poll on an external website.
It will only take a few seconds!

Sharebears 7.82: Coming Up for Heir + Heir Reveal
« Reply #517 on: November 04, 2018, 01:05:05 AM »

The Humor & Hinjinks Festival is hexed, I tell you!

7.82: Coming Up for Heir [+Heir Reveal]

Week 24/Thursday

Shiso: Not to harp on the Humor & Hijinks Festival but…*continues to harp
We see small changes after spending 11 hours in the Arts Quarter.
Last night, we couldn't sit at the Tiki Bar because a picnic table was blocking it.
Also, notice the produce stall positioned right behind the Tiki Bar.

This morning, that picnic table is gone and that yard sales table has appeared, though it's unusable.
The produce stall has shifted over to the left.
We'll have to return during the festival's regular schedule.
But will we even got a festival notice when the festival's broken like this? *sighs in frustration

Anyway, we take out the birthday cakes and light the candles as soon as we get home.
Tristan steps up first, as always, since he's the first conceived and first born.
After joining the Entertainer career at Level 4, he negotiates for a bonus.
His job performance gets boosted to almost 60%!

Next up is Tarlock.
He'd planned to become a Pro Athlete but then Lamont Faust completed it recently.
So now he's joined the Politician career at Level 3 to become a Charity Organizer.
He's maxed Charisma already so he should be fine! But I'm worried about his Hates Children trait.
Will he be nice to his nieces and nephews?

Tarlock: Oh, I'm supposed to choose a cause, am I?
Since I'm a Chief of Mischief, I detest the Foundation for Less Mischief.
I know! "Simoleons for Everyone" will be my cause!
After completing that task, I negotiate a bonus and almost reach Level 4!

Shiso: At this point, I notice that our butler Tetsu is not celebrating with us.
Oh, there he is, standing in front of the house.
And what's that metallic glint in his ear? He's wearing earbuds!?

Shiso: The crowd goes wild, for some reason, when Teagan steps up to his cake.
After blowing out his candles, he joins the Social Media career at Level 3.

Unlike Tarlock, Teagan does NOT complete his daily task before negotiation for a bonus.
Look how low his performance bar is compared with Tarlock's.
Will it rise any higher when he completes his daily task at Spice Market?

Shiso: Before we go any further, our next heir must be decided.
And the voters have spoken, choosing Teagan as the Gen8 heir.
Would you please take over the narration, Teagan dear?
Teagan: Thank you, Mama. And thank you to everyone who voted!

My first step as heir is to choose my primary spouse. Where did she go?
While I'm chasing her down, I notice Tristan is moving in on Louise Faust.
My unflirty brother has managed to get the two of them feeling flirty. Go Tristan!

Tarlock has not been as lucky with his target, Riley Green.
She keeps running off to play chess or read one of our bestseller skill books.
He's finally forced to catch her attention by playing chess.

Tarlock: You know I'm not really keen on having children, Teagan.
Why can't you and Tristan produce Mama's four grandchildren? Leave me out of it!

Teagan: And yes, my primary spouse will be that clumsy, gloomy, goofball: Aaradhya Kumar.
I find her talking to herself in that "cricky" voice of the elderly.
We've been friends since I was in grade school so she readily agrees to move in.

I'm puzzled by Aaradhya's Angling Ace aspiration and maxed Fishing skill.
On a hunch, I ask her to change to her party outfit.
Here's a shot from our family album of Aaradhya attending our founder Sherilee's wedding.
Was she both a nanny and a fisherfolk? So bizarre!

I invite Aaradhya to move in only for her unique traits. She won't be around long.
But my lovely Dianna is an entirely different story!
Last night at the Arts Quarter, I was a teen and she was already a young adult.
With that age gap, all I could do was ask her to be my BFF.

On my invitation, Dianna immediately moves in.
After thinking about how to get rid of Aaradhya, I decide to move her into Chateau Frise.
Granpa Omu will be an elder in a week yet he and Amanda have three toddlers.
Just in case, the immortal Aaradhya will be there to look after my, um, aunts and uncles.

Teagan: Meanwhile, unflirty Tristan has been making unbelievable progress.
Tristan: The trick is to focus on the romantic socials that don't have the Unflirty icon.
Like "Try for Baby in Hot Tub." *coughs

I've finally moved in Aaradhya and Dianna, then Aaradhya moved out.
People say that a strong friendship is the best foundation for a solid relationship.
It must be true cuz our romance takes off like fireworks!

Look at Uncle Elvain's performance bar. He'll definitely max his career on Friday night!
As soon as he does, I'm moving him out to make room for a second nooboo!

By the way, I considered asking Papa Ronan to move out, too.
But I've decided two kids is enough for us.
The three new careers can be handled by them plus the heir's spouse.
Two Stylist branches and the Acting career, right? Or does Acting branch, too? *scratches head

Dianna is as eager and enthused to try for baby as I am!
That girl needs a change of sleepwear, but there's no time for that right now!

Big, fat, heavy hearts!

Teagan: One look at gorgeous Dianna and you know our daughters are gonna be stunning, too!
Dianna: Isn't there something you can do about my traits, though, Teagan?
I want our children to have the best traits possible!

Teagan: Would you be willing to drink this re-traiting potion left by my grandfather?
Dianna: For a second chance at better traits, yes!

Dianna: Well, what do you think? *twirls
Teagan: I'm glad that we didn't risk moving you in as the primary spouse, Dianna!
But those are great traits--you should be quite happy!
By the way, my brothers and I have joined the last three careers currently available, so you don't need to work.

While all this has been going on, Papa Ronan painted this masterpiece portrait of Dianna.
And Mama painted this portrait of my primary spouse, Aaradhya Kumar.

Aaradhya: Hey, why is my portrait so much smaller!
Teagan: Don't complain too loudly.
In our watcher's previous legacy, spouses like you were memorialized with biographies.
Those books were abandoned in some dank basement room, never seeing the light of day.

Teagan: And lastly, here's a shot of me with dreads in pirate garb.
Hmmm, those kohl-darkened eyes are actually a good look for me.
Perhaps I should think about growing my hair out, too. *rubs chin thoughtfully

Come back next time to meet the Gen9 kids! Wheeeee!

Legacy score: 96 points
Family (+1): Gen8 heir Teagan aged up to young adult (9/10 total)
Creative (+1): Teagan and Aaradhya memorialized with portraits (9/10 total)
Love (+1): Aaradhya brought 3 unique traits as primary spouse (9/10 total)

I can't wait to see what the Gen9 kids look, either! I hope they're redheads! *crosses fingers
Omu should be an elder already, except that he was turned by Elvain (for Elvain's Vampire Family aspiration). That reset his age bar to Day 1 of his second young adult stage.
Yeah, I'm giving up on those festivals in this Sharebear save, lol.

Congrats to Teagan. But I love that Tristan's romance is going well!

Sharebears 8.83: A Breath of Fresh Heir
« Reply #521 on: November 06, 2018, 01:46:18 AM »

8.83: A Breath of Fresh Heir

Week 24/Thursday

Teagan: Well, this is the first full post for our eighth generation!
As you might recall, my beautiful Dianna is now eating for two.
And never fear, my friends. She's since had a makeover as well.

Tarlock, who hates children, has opted out of fathering.
Unflirty Tristan, on the other hand, has been pursuing his mission with a passion.
We're all as astonished as Louise Faust looks here, believe me.

My parents had gone to the second nicest bedroom after our birthdays.
They've been thinking of becoming Soulmates.
When I checked on them, however, they're standing outside.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the bedroom door...

Yep, that's Tristan and Louise. I guess they got tired of the hot tub?
Between the two of them, I'm not sure who's encouraging who.
But they sure to seem to have a lot of chemistry!

Around the same time, I successfully propose to Dianna.
It's great that Dianna and are on the same page about getting married.
Since nobody's working tonight, we'll wed before the arrival of our kid(s)!

Tristan's eager to get put a ring on Louise's finger, too.
Seriously, folks, nobody would believe that he's unflirty.
He's been romancing my future sister-in-law like there's no tomorrow!

I briefly take the whole gang with me to Spice Market for my daily task.
Once that's done, my job performance rises one whole tick. Nice!

I've invited as much close and extended kin as possible to our double wedding.
Mercifully, the musician I hired arrives late.
None of that dancing-in-the-aisle nonsense during the ceremony!

Unlike Grandpa Omu with his wife, I'm wild about Dianna.
If it weren't for my parents, Dianna and I could have the perfect relationship!
More on that later…

Everyone's a little surprised at Louise Faust's choice of wedding gown.
And see what happens when you let the bride wear 4-inch heels?
She's towering over poor Tristan!
But nothing fazes Tristan today. He's too blissed out to sweat the details.

One gold-medal social event for an entire generation doesn't help much.
Maybe our generation will get motivated and go on 37 gold-medal dates.
Hah! That's highly unlikely!

Ronan: I hate to ask this of you on your wedding night, son.
But you know Tristan's kids won't count toward my 4 grandkids.
Teagan: It's not my fault that Mama decided to have three baby-daddies!
Ronan: Nobody will think any less of you, Teagan.
You know the ole saying: "Don't hate the player, hate the game!"

Teagan: Okay, Rita, the coast is clear!
And to avoid any misunderstanding, we're just friends!
*mutters: Why does Papa even need Big Happy Family if Mama does it?

Friday

Teagan: The next day, Tristan and Tarlock continue their aspirations.
One can never have too many satisfaction points!

While I'm at work, Uncle Elvain helps mentor Dianne in Logic.
She's an aspiring Nerd Brain but can't go on space missions for now.

Tarlock: Your last day of work at last, eh?
Elvain: Yeah, finally! By the way, son, do me a favor?
Tarlock: What?
Elvain: I know you dislike children, but I'd sure like to see some grandkids.
You're a handsome lad, you know. The world could use some mini-Tarlocks!
Tarlock: Okay, I'll think about it.

Tristan: Tonight, I earn a promotion to Level 4 Entertainer.
Teagan: Level 4? Didn't you start at Level 4?
Tristan: Um no. "Someone" forgot to buy me Connections. Ahem!
Darn it, sorry! I got so distracted by that glitched Humor & Hijinks Festival.

Saturday

It's just past midnight when we see the splash!
Uncle Elvain hasn't even arrived home yet.

Elvain: Took me a week longer than everyone else to max my career.
And now I can finally move out!
I'm really looking forward to living in Forgotten Hollow again.

Teagan: Can I feel the baby once more, Dianna?
Dianna: Of course, you can. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Teagan: Exactly! You look noticeably bigger after Uncle Elvain moved out.
Dianna: Do you think….?

Mama was deeply shaken by that whole fiasco with Grandpa Omu and Papa.
She wants to make sure Papa knows that he isn't just a token spouse.
That's why the two of them completed Soulmates together.
They'd been asking each other on dates non-stop since Friday morning.

When Dianna goes into labor, we see a pink-and-blue mark near the bassinets.
What is that? Do other watchers see that symbol, too?
Is it related to the On Ley Line lot trait?

Thanks to strawberries, Pop music, and a fertility massage, Dianna has twins.
Two beautiful little girls!

We name our firstborn Ume, which means plum.
It's pronounced "U" as in "hula, and "me" as in "met."

We reluctantly name our second daughter "Uni," which means sea urchin.
That's "U" as in "hula," and "ni" as in "money."
I argued with our watcher that it's not the sort of name one gives to a child.
But our watcher insists that being named after her favorite food is an honor.

Up next: The Gen9 girls as toddlers! Will they be brunettes or redheads?

Legacy Score: +1 (97 points)
Nature (+1): completed Entertainer/Comedian career;
Maxed all 23 career tracks and 34/37 career branches
Popularity (0): 316 gold medal points

Household Stats
Shiso (Gen7 heir): 2 days to adult (drank Potion of Youth already)
Ronan: 4 days to adult (drank Potion of Youth already)
Tristan (9 days to adult): Entertainer/Musician 4
Tarlock (9 days to adult): Politician/Charity Organizer 4
Teagan (9 days to adult): Social Media/Internet Personality 4
Dianna (9 days to adult): full-time caregiver
Ume & Uni (1 day to toddler)

Chapter Notes

Bassinet target: Does this appear in your game, too?

Generation 9: I have two options for this penultimate generation.
Option A: The two girls become YAs after Get Famous comes out.
   - In this case, they and a spouse will need to complete the 3 new careers.
Option B: Ume and Uni become YAs before Get Famous comes out.
   - In this case, I finish this legacy challenge before November 16.
This means my Sharebears don't need to max the 3 new careers.
Decisions, decisions. If I finish earlier, I can start the new dynasty challenge in Del Sol Valley. *coughs

I would say go and finish it off now. You never know what other rules they will implement or bonus points. So better finish it right away.

Hmmm....if I were in your position, I think I'd finish before Get Famous comes out.  While it would be fun to try the three new careers, that's a lot to throw in at the end.  There will be new aspirations, as well, right?

Your glitched festivals are very persistent.  I've had that happen before, but it usually clears up on it's own.

Oh, and the pink and blue cross with the bassinet, I've seen that before.  I can't find a picture, but I think I got it with my Apocalypse Challenge.  They had the Ley Line lot trait.  My Sharebears don't have the Ley Line right now, and I haven't seen it in that file.

Cant wait to see the girls.
I would say go and finish it off now. You never know what other rules they will implement or bonus points. So better finish it right away.
@LenaLJ
Thanks so much for your thoughts on my timing. I do believe you're right about finishing before November 13.
Actually, I hadn't even considered the possibility of new rules and new points!  Gah!

@BallerinaHippo
Of course, I do want to eventually experience all the new Get Famous stuff. There will be two new skills as well.
I pre-ordered Get Famous last month, LOL!
But I agree with you about being too much new stuff for Gen9: 3 careers, 1 aspiration, 2 skills,  plus the fame system.
I'm going to work toward finishing my challenge by November 13, even if I'll be posting my story updates after that date. ;D

Thank you for letting me know that you've also seen that pink-and-blue cross.
It's such a relief to know that it's a normal occurrence, haha.
