Infertile Sims?
« on: June 26, 2011, 11:23:31 PM »
Is it normal that my sim has tried for baby like 10 times and still isn't pregnant? I know it's possible that they must try more than once, but my sims always get pregnant like after 2 or 3 times. I installed Generations a few weeks ago so maybe it's a glitch?

Have you tried waiting a day to see if the mother gets morning sickness? Sometimes the bells after woohoo don't sound, or I miss them, but the mother turns out to be pregnant anyway.

I've seen this happen.  Not often, but there are times when it takes forever for a Sim to get pregnant.  The Fertility Treatment lifetime reward will help.

Not that I am an expert or anything lol but I have Generations and I've had a baby on first try with no fertility reward picked.

Yes, it happens on the first try, as well.  Neither are extreme cases.

Yes. What I meant was that I have babies and I have generations so I don't think it's a generations glitch that is making OP's sim not get pregnant

Ok, I see.  I agree that it's not a Generations glitch.  It just sometimes happens for no real reason.

Yeah, I always wait a day when de the bell doesn't sound but she won't get pregnant. I guess I will need the fertility treatment, but she has like 2000 points so... it will take some time. The bad thing is she has the sorrounded by family LTW and so I hope I can get it before she becomes an elder. Does anyone know if adopting a baby counts for this LTW? I never do much adopting and I normally avoid the sorrounded by family LTW so I have no idea but it could help, maybe?

Adopting a baby does count towards the Surrounded By Family LTW. :) As long as you raise them from baby to teen, though.

When that Adopted Baby reaches Toddlerhood you might get some Wishes with some nice LTHP Available for teaching their Skills to them! I think you can get around 2,500 for some of them. That might help you get your Fertility Treatment.  :)

Fertility Treatment does help, but really, you just have to do it over and over if your Sim doesn't get pregnant.  While they are in bed, click the bed and click Try for Baby.  Queue up several of them and they'll just keep doing it.  Sooner or later, your Sim will get pregnant.

This happens to mostly my Adult sims. Is the sim in question YA or Adult?

This happened to me lately, although the couple is proven to be fertile coz they have two kids. When they wanted a third child, I wondered why the "Try for Baby" prompt was not present. It never happened to me before. Anyway, so I tried to build up their relationship better. First by friendly interactions, then flirting, cuddle in bed, and finally the woohoo and try for baby prompt appeared. It takes while though, I'm not certain if this is your case, but it was with mine. And now they finally have their third child!  :)

Sorry for the late reply - I had lost the thread and didn't remember where it was  ::).

The sim was an adult, it had never happened to me before. Finally I bought them the fertility treatment, did what Pam suggested and she got pregnant after a few tries. Then I made her eat lots and lots of watermelons and apples, read like every pregnancy book available and made the husband hear her belly and everything so that I'd get twins, and it worked. Now she finally completed her Sorrounded by Family LTW  ;D.

Thanks for the help!
