The Sims 4 Aspirations List

Reward Traits, Satisfaction Totals, and Milestone Summaries

The Sims 4's Aspirations are life goals that Sims may select, allowing them to complete a checklist of objectives to earn Satisfaction that may be spent toward Rewards. Unlike TS3's Lifetime Wishes, you may change your Aspiration at any time by pressing 'G' and going to the menu. Completing an Aspiration earns your Sim a related Reward Trait, and allows them to select another Aspiration from any category. Your first Aspiration choice matters in that your first Bonus Trait will not change after switching to a new Aspiration.

The following list's goal is to help you select Aspirations by providing knowledge of what you have to do in each. If, for example, you were expected to master a Skill you didn't want to, have many friends, or join a Career, it would help you to avoid selecting that. You may also prioritize certain Reward Traits first to help you complete another Aspiration later on.

Two things of note: Aspirations Milestones with the same name will be cleared on any Aspiration that shares those same objectives, meaning you will have a head start on completing those other Aspirations (usually in the same category) but not get the chance to get the Satisfaction twice. Also, those Aspiration Objectives that state 'Become an Adult' always give 0 and are meant to be barriers to Children/Teens from completing those Aspirations. They can get to the point that the Adulthood requirement appears.

Expansions and Game Packs

Most DLC comes with Aspirations that tie in with the theme of the pack. For example, Vampires allows Sims to become a Master Vampire. The Parenthood Game Pack offers Sims the opportunity to become a Super Parent via the Parenting Skill and attain the Role Model Reward Trait. Look for parentheses next to the name of the Aspiration to tell you if that life goal is only available with a game or expansion pack. If nothing's present, the aspiration is available to all players with the Sims 4 base game.

Hi. Love your guide but there is a problem I can't find it anywhere on Internet. The thing is I had my sim age up to adult and had him have the soulmate aspiration . But then I changed him back to young adult through cheat. So the aspiration is still gonna function properly or will it able to make something go wrong?
Save your game before changing the age of your sim in CAS, that way if anything goes wrong you can quit without saving.
Generally it is a very bad idea to age down sims in CAS as it does really mess with aspirations but seeing as you are going from adult to young adult it should be ok.
I can not be 100% sure as often what happens is the completed aspirations stay completed on the aged-down sim but they lose the reward trait. This means they can not complete the aspiration again (as it is completed) and the reward trait doesn't seem to add very well using in cheats in this scenario. So... be careful! And save before you do anything!
Does the "Naturalist" reward make your vampire sims immune to burning (and dying) in the sun?
No as Death By Sunlight is a different death than Death By Fire.
Does anyone know if you complete an aspiration and select a new one do you still get the benefits of the other one that you completed ?
Yes, of course, any new reward traits your sim gains are there for life. You can also swap aspirations at any time and then return to them and all progress is maintained. My sims normally have around 7 or 8 on the go at once.
Hey, awesome site and list. Maybe I'm being blind, but does this need updating for Cats and Dogs? I think there's the 'friend of the animals' one?
On the big happy family aspiration, could notes be made that the child who gets married must live with the parent with the aspiration. But that the grandchildren do not need to be born in the same household. I got set WAY back on that because the daughter moved out before getting married (like most people IRL do).

Has anybody else noticed the hidden aspirations that came with Get Famous? Like Star Athlete. Or Celebrity Chef? There's three of them, but I'm not sure how to unlock the aspirations. I've just noticed some of the game generated extra sims are showing up with these aspirations.
There's the World Famous Celebrity and Actor aspirations that came with the DLC, is that what you mean? The details of those are in the guide above.
Ashley Lsays...
You haven't noticed the hidden aspirations that keep generating with the game generated sims? There's like three... Star Athlete, Celebrity Chef and there's another, I just can't think of it off the top of my head. The next time your game generates some sims, go into CAS and check out their aspirations. I know they're hidden because sometimes the game generated sims will have the Grilled Cheese aspiration. I can't find anything on these hidden aspirations, but I'm trying to figure out how to activate them.
The only other aspiration I can see is under the new aspiration category "Challenge" and under that is the latest challenge aspiration: 'The Positivity Challenge'. I've randomly checked quite a few game generated sims using the 'cas.fulleditmode on' cheat and I still see nothing. Are you using any mods that might be adding new aspirations and/or traits? Obviously there is the Grilled Cheese Aspiration and that unlocks when sims eat 3 grilled cheese meals in a row and I know it's possible that townies sometimes are generated with this unlocked but other than that, nothing.
Ashley Lsays...
Maybe you could give me your email and I can screenshot the aspirations? I didn't use a mod to get the aspirations, these are from Get Famous.
I'd love to see what you're talking about but it would be better to post to the forum board for Get Famous that way the whole community can see Smile

I found out what it is...
There are hidden aspirations, but they are for a tutorial I guess... lol. It came with the November 16th patch.
Great, thanks for clearing that up. I haven't bothered to look at the tutorial yet. I guess I'll have to give it a quick play through to see those aspirations etc. It's always seemed a bit weird to me that such a simply game has a comparative complex tutorial!
How do I make my Sim automatically available to have their picture taken in Get Famous?
Just have them go to community lots and hope that it happens. You can't offer to give another specific sim the chance to take a photo/selfie you just have to wait. You can direct your sim to Strike a Pose for a fan, this will make some nearby sims take photos of your sim, but not with your sim.Get Famous Celebrity Rank Guide
I'm wondering, is there anything known about how strong some of the bonus traits are? Take collector for example, how much more rare collectibles can you find with this? Does it work for all things like fishing, finding relics etc.?
How much easier is it with gregarious to form friendships? (do you get 30% increase with all positive interactions for example?) Etc. etc.

On a sidenote, I'm getting an error with the privacy policy: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

I can still read it (in Firefox) but just in raw HTML.
Not sure of we have the %data to hand but I'll take a look for you. Also I've reported your error to Carl, I don't see it so not sure what to suggest at present.
Alright, thank you. You don't have to search very hard though, I just dislike when games make claims (you will find rares more easily) without telling you what is affected and by how much, so I was mostly wondering if any info was known.

As far as the error, I found the issue. I usually open links in a different tab, especially when I'm busy typing a reply or something I don't want to lose. I've had prior experience losing all the stuff I had typed, hence the habit I've developed. This is however a popup screen, and it works fine if it's clicked directly, but not when you open it in another tab.
Sketch Eldersays...
One of the final requirements for the Master Actor/Actress aspiration is Place a Celebrity Tile in Starlight Boulevard . I discovered today that you can complete this by picking up one of the celebrity tiles that are already there and putting it back in place.

Any plans to do guides for the Get Famous aspirations?
I may have missed it but is the animal aspiration on here? The friend of animals? I was not able to find it. Great list though! Very helpful, thank you!
I'm trying the Big Happy Family achievements, but the "have a child get married and start a family on their own" does not get validated.
What is the exact criteria? The eldest daughter just married her female roomie and adopted a girl who has a line in the family tree and is "daughter" and "granddaughter" in the relationship thing.
Does the achievement require an opposite-sex-cis-gender wedding and a natural birth? She should have to marry a man, get pregnant and give birth to validate the achievement? Sorry to ask, but it's not precised.
You just have to have a child in the household get married. Obviously the 'child' needs to have grown up to be a Young Adult or older and then get married while the parent is still alive and in the same active household.
Elizabeth Townsendsays...

DOES the stuff you buy last and stack? Like if you buy two, do they still exist? Where can you view them?

Yes, they are all purchasable with Satisfaction Points and you can see them on your sim in-game on the UI where you see your normal traits.

Just a heads up I think you should probably include the Friend of the Animals aspiration on here (if it's on there I don't see it, i looked twice lmao, maybe i'm just going blind)

i have a question about the academic aspiration that came with University, jou forgot to list it btw.

1 of the milestones for that aspiration is to attent 3 guest lectures, guest lectures are held from 17:00-19:00, is ther a optiont to make those hours longer say from 13:00-19:00 so jou can attand all 3 in just 1 afternoon?

Hey thanks for letting us know it's not listed on this page, we'll probably get around to it As for your question, not that i know of. You just have to juggle your Sims days so you can get to 3 of them.

State of Sims 4 in 2016: "Poetic Allows you to write the Book of Life. Writing this about a living Sim, then using it after their death will resurrect them. A truly powerful Reward."

State of Sims 4 in 2021: Death is meaningless and you don't even have to work to bring them back. Emotions can be turned off. Needs can be turned off. All "Negative gameplay" elements can be turned off and you can make $100,000 from dust in less than a week.. After the Patch that nerfed dust.

Hey, the aspiration from Cats & Dogs isn't on here...

This is extremely out of date :(
