I glad everyone is okay. Coleen was in her athletic wear, she seems to really like it!

Let's just hope we're getting all our bad luck early, so none of it comes when it really counts!  ;D

I'm glad nobody got hurt, Incubus's ball included!

Goodbyes

I think a sprinkler scene with Frank would be so great. Kind of like a single moment that helps show how far he's come. Plus it'd look cool.  :P

Frank:  He wants to see me playing in the sprinkler?  In a meteorite shower?  Just to prove I've gotten over my hydrophobia?  I don't think so!  Sstarr's bathtub is a lot more comfortable.  And safer.  I may be insane, but I'm not stupid!

Incubus tells Callum all about seeing the meteorites coming.

Emily missed all the meteorite excitement, but she has a happy memory of her spa treatment to take home with her.

Callum just had to try the climbing wall before leaving.  I wasn't really watching, but he must have kept it up for a while because I noticed later that he was fatigued.

And then it's time to leave.  The residents gather on the front drive to say their goodbyes.

Trisha tells Coleen she'll write to her.

Emily:  If you come for a visit, I'll cook something special.
Frank:  Broccoli?

[Deep philosophical issue #42:  Why do Sims think about broccoli when there's no broccoli in Sims3?]

Friendly goodbye hugs:

Time to leave!  In the car, everyone, we don't want to miss our flight!

There they go.

And I feel sad, watching them leave.  I've really become quite fond of these characters.

So was their treatment successful?  See what you think.  Here's what they accomplished in their two-week stay:

Frank:  Skills - Athletic 4, Charisma 4, Cooking 1, Fishing 4, Gardening 6, Handiness 6, Logic 4, Painting 1.  Friends - Coleen, Emily, Trisha, Callum, Gunther.  Also had a SWAP treatment.

Callum:  Skills - Athletic 4, Charisma 4, Cooking 2, Fishing 10, Gardening 3, Logic 2.  Friends - Charissa, Coleen, Frank.  Also had a SWAP treatment and became Dirt Defiant.

Coleen:  Skills - Logic 4, Athletic 10, Charisma 4, Cooking 2, Fishing 1, Gardening 2.  Friends - Incubus, Charissa, Callum, Frank, Trisha, Emily, Simis.  Also had a SWAP treatment.

Charissa:  Skills - Athletic 6, Charisma 2, Cooking 2, Fishing 7, Gardening 6, Writing 1.  Friends - Callum, Incubus, Coleen.  Also had a SWAP treatment.

Trisha:  Skills - Logic 3, Painting 6, Athletic 4, Charisma 5, Cooking 2.  Friends - Coleen, Frank, Incubus, Agnes, Sstarr.  Also had a SWAP treatment and a fertility treatment.

Emily:  Skills - Cooking 10 (2 of 3 skill challenges completed), Logic 1, Athletic 4, Charisma 4, Gardening 1, Handiness 1.  Friends - Frank, Coleen, Ethan.  Also acquired the Born to Cook LTR.

To the case managers:  1. I hope you don't mind having them uploaded together as a group.  That was the easiest way I could think of to get them to keep the contents of their inventory.  Let me know if you'd rather have individual links.  2. Thank you all for such highly individual and interesting Sims!  Your creativity in making them and providing personal case histories, letters, etc, made them a lot of fun to play and, I hope, to read about.

Thanks so much for doing this. It was great fun to read (well, maybe not the meteor and Sstarr's electrocution, but other than that, yes).

Mr Payne's Visit

Mr Payne decides to pay a surprise visit to the Treatment Centre to see how Sstarr and Incubus are getting on.

Mr Payne:  So I hear your first group of patients did very well.  How are you finding things?
Ssttarr:  They were a lot of fun!  You should have seen Emily in her bunny suit - she was so cute!

Ssttarr continues:  We've had inquiries about providing treatment for teenagers, you know.
Mr Payne:  What do you think of that?
Ssttarr:  I don't know.  It's hard to keep up with everything while I'm working at the Science Centre, and the teens wouldn't have much time to help with chores.
Mr Payne:  Yes, I see.  You'll need to have help.  Go ahead and advertise for an assistant.  How's Incubus working out?

Ssttarr:  Oh, everybody loves him.  I just wish I knew what to do about his talking.  When people hear him talking, it makes them think they're crazier than they really are!
Mr Payne:  Yes, he is a chatty little fellow.  Quite opinionated.  It's part of his charm, really.  But now that Supernatural has been released, you can just tell everyone that it's some sort of top-secret magic.  Which it is, really.  Problem solved.
Ssttarr:  But I can't do that!  Schipperke hasn't gotten around to installing Supernatural yet!
Mr Payne:  Hmm ... you're right.  I remember hearing that UPS lost the game or something and it was delayed.  But it should have been installed by now!  I see I'll have to do something about this.
Ssttarr:  Do something?  But what can you do?  Schipperke lives in Dimension H, and we Sims have no way to influence them!

Mr Payne:  Don't you remember that James and Moth Douglas managed to find a way to travel to Dimension H?*
Ssttarr:  But I thought that secret had been lost after the Douglases disappeared following the great meterorite disaster?  And besides, aren't the Dimension H inhabitants a bit - well, a bit dim-witted?  Do you mean you can really communicate with them?
Mr Payne:  They don't seem to be capable of learning more than a few words of our language, but that doesn't matter.  I can fix it.  Leave it to me.

Late that night, somewhere in Dimension H, a writer sits hunched over her computer.

The dogs are going to bed and it's time for her to sleep too.  Suddenly, from nowhere, a thought comes into her head, insistent and unrelenting - Time to Install Supernatural!  Right Now!

The writer feels strangely compelled to follow through.  Soon Supernatural is installed and the sleepy writer can finally go to bed.  She never noticed the figure in grey standing behind her.  He appeared and disappeared again without a trace.

Great!  You can submit him any time.  It will be several days to a week before we're ready for the new admissions, but there's no reason people can't start making referrals.

We have space for 5 referrals this time.  This will be a mixed group - teens and above, and I'd like to have at least 2 in each age group (eg, 2 teens, 3 YA & above).  Please check the referral guidelines as they have been updated.  I think it's better to have a fixed time period for the treatment rather than leaving it open-ended, so this program will be 2 weeks long.  Also please note the special terms for referring teenagers - they must receive care packages every week.  This is to help them not feel cut off from their families while they're in treatment.  Actually, it would be nice for all residents to get care packages, but I'm making it mandatory for teens.  Anything you want to send, PM me and if it can be done, it will.  You can send your care package any time but I think Friday after school is probably when the care packages will be given out.

Does the new Youth Therapist need to be insane as well?

I've actually been training a therapist for a few weeks now, so the advertisement is really just a story device, not actually looking for applicants.  But I wish I had thought of asking people to submit applications - it would have been a lot of fun!  However, at this point I've put quite a bit of work into my trainee and do want to use him, at least for now.  Maybe in future we could think of having people submit applicants for another position.

Introduction

Dear Mr. Payne,

I have read wonderful reviews of your "GO" Treatment Center, so I am writing to ask for your help.

I am the foster parent of Blythe Masterson, pictured above. This is not the best photo taken of her, but I believe it captures her personality. Some Sims may call her "insane"; I happen to think differently about the matter. She is the most gifted child I have ever had the privilege of welcoming into my home.

Blythe has a special talent with musical instruments. When she was placed with me as a toddler, she fell in love with the xylophone. I was hardly able to pry her away from it to feed her a bottle or take a nap. When she was in elementary school, she took a field trip to the theater and returned home, gushing to me about the band exhibition. Now a teenager, Blythe has taken to the guitar. She has an abundance of natural talent, but I am exhausted from the late night rock sessions that sound as if a cat is scraping its claws against a chalkboard. Please send her to a guitar class, if possible, and have her practice daily.

My foster child lives in a bubble. Because she spends time with her guitar every waking hour, she has few friends. She hardly talks to the rest of the children who stay with me, and she never brings home a friend from school. Please assist her in kindling new friendships. Blythe has few ambitions; she only dreams of playing guitar in the subway. I need you to help her see that there are aspirations for her professionally that incorporate her talents, like a Rock Star or Hit-Movie Composer.

Blythe meticulously cleans the home and seems to have fun doing it, so I want you to assign her to do the "dirty work" of the center. In addition, she is very clumsy, tripping over herself left and right. I want her to learn to be more graceful, if there is any way to teach it. She expresses herself through her wardrobe, as shown by her bright green leopard print. I hope you like bright green leopard print.

If she is accepted, I will be express-mailing Blythe's guitar to you because it is too big for customs. It is black and white. She will need it in order to complete the goals for her stay.

Sincerely,

Ms. Cora Newbew

Dear Ms. Newbew,

Thank you for referring your foster daughter to the Treatment Centre.  Blythe sounds like quite a delightful girl and we would be pleased to help her achieve her goals.  Regarding the goal of helping her grow gracefully into young adulthood, are you expecting her to have a birthday while she is in treatment?  If that is the case, please let us know so we can plan a special celebration for her.

We look forward to meeting Blythe.

sincerely,
The Management

To anyone wanting to refer a Sim to the Treatment Centre:  please don't include any Supernatural content.  I have been forced to uninstall Supernatural because since installing it my games are all becoming corrupted and can't be saved.  Also every time I inserted the disc, the game would try to uninstall itself (was it trying to tell me something?) so I think I must have a faulty disc.  Unless and until a solution is found, no Supernatural traits, or other items, I'm afraid.

Dear Mr. Payne,

My name is Karin Harrell. I’ve heard great things about your center. I would like to refer myself. I know I need help, and isn’t acceptance the first step to recovery? Or something like that.

Anyway, my problem is this: I love gardening, but it’s so dirty! I hate being dirty more than anything else! I always get teased by people about how much I like being clean. One of my classmates in high school even gave me the nickname “Neurotically Neat Crazy Karin.” Unfortunately it usually got shortened to Crazy Karin.

I used to have a job helping my nextdoor neighbor, Mr. Smith, with his garden. I got fired, though, because as soon as I would plant one seed, I’d have to run and wash my hands. I only worked there for two weeks, and I doubled Mr. Smith’s water bill for the month.

I’m hoping that your center can help me get over my fear of being dirty. I also want to be able to get good enough at gardening that I can start my own garden. I want to show Mr. Smith I’m not hopeless!

Thank you so much,

Karin Harrell

P.S. I heard one of your previous residents just used gloves when she fished and gardened. That would never work for me. If I was wearing gloves, how would I be able to feel what the plants need?

P.P.S. I understand I’ll have to work hard to reach my goals, but I’m really hoping to have time to write in my diary. Can I please keep my diary? Pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top?

Referral:
Name: Karin Harrell, Female YA
Traits: Neat, Neurotic, Insane, Loves the Outdoors, and Green Thumb
Goals: Earn enough Lifetime Happiness Points to get the “Dirt Defiant” reward, and also gain a few skill points in gardening. If by some miracle she manages to get enough LTHP to get Dirt Defiant and a SWAP, she’d like to swap out her Neurotic trait. If you can get Supernatural working by then, she’d like to switch it for Gatherer, which will help with getting better quality seeds.
I will be writing her diary entries after every update or two. Maybe a little less often if life in Dimension H gets too crazy. I know you can’t see it through her letter, but she was batting her eyelashes as she wrote that P.P.S.
Call me Alex.
