Genie induced long life - hereditary?
« on: August 21, 2012, 01:05:24 AM »
Hello! I have a question about the genie wish 'Long Life' which I hope somebody can answer for me. I'm playing a 'sort of Legacy' and had my founder use the genie wish for 'Long Life' in order to give myself some more time to get up in his career before marriage. All worked well, lifespan got extra long. The odd thing is that when his child, and then his grandchildren were born, they also had the extra long lifespan. I haven't altered the settings for lifespan, and other sims have the normal length. The sims in question do otherwise age normally, just at a slower pace.

Basically I'm just wondering, is this a known feature, or some sort of very odd bug?

"Long Life" is handled using a hidden trait assigned to your sim, much like the "Burglar", "Makes No Messes" traits you can inherit from former service sims, and the "Can Salute" trait you receive from the Military Career.

Those type of traits can be passed to the next generation. :)

Thanks very much for your reply, good to know that I don't have to worry about some insidious bug. :)
