Werewolves!

I have been waiting for Supernatural  and magic to be added to the Sims 3 since the first expansion pack was released. But because of my budget, I can't get it for awhile. In the Sims 2, I really wanted a werewolf, and spent many hours trying to find this black dog with glowing eyes. I never found one. Which is why, in the Sims 3, with the option to create supernaturals in create-a-sim, they are the occult I am most excited for. But I don't have the game yet, and I was looking for a thread on werewolves and I couldn't find one.

So please, share anything about werewolves here, from behaviors, looks, funny interactions or LTR and wishes. I'll enjoy pictures about your werewolf families too! Please share so I can satisfy my werewolf fix while I don't have Supernatural

When interacting with werewolves you get options for stuff like playing fetch and rubbing their belly. I only had one briefly while I was testing things out but she had the Proper trait... which didn't stop her eating her food by crouching on a chair and diving in head first. She would change forms autonomously and when you change back to human form there's a moodlet with a picture of a baffled-looking werewolf face that says she can't remember what happened but it was probably awesome, or something like that. If two werewolves (or more) have a decent relationship there's an option to form pack and you can hunt as a pack or solo by clicking on the ground, which is cool. I tried it maybe 8 times and at first she found things like iron and copper, then the last time she got a sunstone and something else that was a lot cheaper, I can't remember what though. I was disappointed by how human they still look in werewolf form though.

I don't have Supernaturals either, and I wish now more than ever that I did! I have a fixation with wolves in general... Been that way since I was 5. So it's been 25 years now. I simply must get this EP! Oh, and Fast Lane Stuff...

Sorry Pam :3 It's second nature to me to center everything and use times new roman font. Makes it look pretty.

But…
@thelittlepakeha, that sounds cool. Do they actually stay together when they hunt? And, I agree- EA made dogs. Why can't our Sims shift into actual wolves?

@donatello, I know, I think I'm going to end up going on a spending spree and buying it, I just can't wait. Although in some games I like strict realism, I've always wanted the option for magical sims.

My wolf's "werewolf skill" is so high that when I click on the ground to hunt I get the option of what to hunt for, gems, metals or insects. Now every time he hunts he brings at least 3 things but on the odd occasion he doesn't get anything.
It always seems impossible until its done.

The most a werewolf can get on a single hunt is four items, no matter whether it is just hunting solo, or for a specific item type. Even at the highest end, I believe they can still find nothing to even out the times they do get a big haul and give the items time to respawn.

I didn't get my test wolf's skill very high but even on about her sixth hunt she got two items. It doesn't take too long to start getting marginally useful things and you don't seem to get skill training fatigue like with actual dogs.

Try and keep your werewolf out of the sauna. Everyone around gets a negative "wet dog" moodlet.

What I'm curious about is "converting" sims to werewolves. I started a new game, chose the Bunch's, made Arlo a YA than edited in CAS to turn him into a werewolf. (He still looks ugly even with hair all over lol) His LTW is leader of the pack which involves converting 5 sims to werewolves and finding $40,000 as a pack. He went to the elixirs shop, bought the Lycan elixir which is supposed to turn sims into one, and he threw it at Morgana Wolff, but it didn't give him 1 for his conversion? How else are they to do it? I looked for a bite or turn interaction like the old vampires but I didn't see it, am I overlooking something?

You need to do some werewolf-y things (hunting to start with) to go up a few levels before the Bite interaction becomes available, but it does exist. You might need to be friends with them first as well, same as vampires.

You have to at least be an aquaintance, not quite friends, to bite. My sim chatted up a tourist and after ahile, bit him. I'm curious to travel and see if it's spreading in China.

Also you need to be in werewolf transformation to bite another sim.

One really annoying flaw I have noticed with werewolves is that townie wolves transform on the first moon but never transform back to sim form, which means they never age up as you can't age as a wolf. I had to get really good at alchemy and throw the potent cure elixir on them and then bite them.

They're not universal solutions, but if you have a genie in the house you can use their powers to temporarily control them and change them back. I think the Hypnotiser store item works in the same/similar way too.

It is the same with occult like vamps, werewolves. I never liked that either, having to be friends with a person and ask them to drink/bite. Lol, only in sims does a vampire (or werewolf) have to bow and go, "Please sir, may I drink your blood?" (or bite them).  ;D

I checked this and the hypnotiser doesn't let you take control, just the genie powers.

In werewolf form click on another sim in wolf form and click the 'ask to join pack option'

What I would like to know is; I created a couple, male werewolf and female is human.  Will he bite her and change her without asking?  Is it something they can't stop doing?

Reason I was wondering was I thought I had saved and turned off the game but didn't.  Saved, but left it on and it was running for at least half an hour.  When I realized, it was a full moon and he seemed to be in his werewolf shape.   He was standing over the bed, she was sleeping and he had in a bubble something about fresh meat.

Another time there was something, not sure if a bubble or in an opportunity, of him wanting raw meat.  Is fresh meat bought at the store and given to him to eat?

On a side question, are there werewolves in the other towns, SV, RV or others?

He won't just bite her, don't worry. She must ask him. You can buy him some steak or fish at the supermarket and put it in his inventory. He can eat it anytime.

Has anyone else noticed that it seems like the energy bar for werewolves drops much slower than other types of sims, especially as they raise in werewolf level?

I believe that one of my werewolf sims went almost 24 hours before he started getting low enough on energy to need sleep, and I know at least one of the others I played around with when checking out the new expansion would go much longer periods of time between sleeping than the normal human that lived with him.

Just wanted to see if anyone else had noticed a similar effect or if I was just hallucinating. I am planning to do some more testing, though, as time permits.

Just have her do werewolf things like hunting and howling and such, and she should then up her lycanthropy skill and get better at being a werewolf. There's more information on the first page of the Thread I believe.

Yes, when she's in werewolf form click on the ground and an option to hunt should pop up.

Is it normal for a werewolf to have the wish "Fight with Vampire"? Because the werewolf I have keeps getting that wish, he's not Mean Spirited or Evil, and his wife is a vampire. A little annoying really, because they're living in Twinbrook with no vampires whatsoever, excluding my own Vampire, and I don't feel like having my Werewolf and Vampire fight :'(.

Also, I would like to ask if with a Werewolf and Vampire, if their child is a collective 50% chance of being a supernatural (25% Werewolf, 25% chance Vampire) or if it's 50% for the Werewolf and 50% for a vampire.

Thanks!

I think your right.  I haven't fully tested it out but it seems like my wolf sim sleeps faster then my witch sim sleeps.  He gets fully rested faster or so it seems.  I'll have to look further into it but I've been busy practicing for the challenges that are about to start :)

The child will either be a werewolf or it will be a vampire.  It's a 50/50 chance unless you have mods that change that percentage in some ways.

Yeah, it's just their way of expressing the lovely werewolf-vampire rivalry. I didn't see relationships between the two supernaturals affected in any way besides these wishes, so I just cancel them. Not worth the relationship-reparation, if you ask me!

I don't believe you can change their werewolf appearance in game. The only work around I have found would be going into CAS, saving him to the sim bin, go into Edit Town, create a new household, pick him from the bin and then edit him. Hope this helps!

You could also use testingcheatsenabled true if you're not against using cheats in the game, then shift click and edit the Sim in CAS. From there you'll be able to edit the werewolf's transformed state.

Really? Did you make sure you found that button above your sim's thumbnail (picture) saying 'Transform' before you tried to edit?

Perhaps you could try turning him human and back into a werewolf in CAS, maybe that would help?

Yes really Estella - I described it in my first post.

I could not find any button above the thumbnail picture in CAS. Nor can I work out how to turn him into a human or back into a werewolf in CAS - I go into CAS when he's in werewolf form, but in CAS he is only in human form with no way to change that.

I love reading these posts because I always find out new things I didn't know before. I had no idea that townie sims didn't age when in their wolf form. That totally explains why my story progression has been off. I never see my townie sims having new babies I would always have to add new families in. and my sims don't interact well with others. I always have to make them find a partner. No more wolves for me. I'll stick with fairies.  :)

From what I know, story  progression hasn't been working for quite a while.  With the weres, as long as they are in the were form, they don't seem to age.  When I play in MF, the Wolff children have stayed at the same age while my sims children have aged up and had kids.  The Willima (her name ?) was a child still when my founder sim's granddaughter was in school.

You can change it, I think in options, for control of supernatural  population and stop them from becoming weres, but they will still stay in the were form, still not age up.
I had wanted to get rid of the stupid behavior of acting like a cat, clawing at the furniture.  So I thought that the pop control would stop that.

*sigh* it doesn't   :(

Fairies are fun to play, but if your sims doesn't have a sense of humor, they don't like to have the pranks played on them.  They make good gardners, great to play if you are planning on having it as a means of income, growing food.
