Woohooium, Secret Weapon? And Flourite.
« on: June 18, 2010, 04:10:06 AM »
Well, many people who got WooHooium say that when you WooHoo and the Woohooium is beside your bed on a stand, hearts come from it and such.

But does it do anything else?

There was a belief that with a woohooium near the bed, sims won't refuse a WooHoo, is this correct or not?
Myth? Or not?

Anyone know?

There's been some who have been wondering what Woohooium does.  Now we've got something to get started testing.  Thanks, Dariu!

I've had it a couple of times when a sculptor is working on a stone block - the block breaks, and there is your woohooium.  Haven't figured out yet what it does, but when you mouse over it, it hints at mysterious effects on sims.

I also have gotten it from the Miner and Sculpting. Haven't found it within the neighborhood, though. If there are any answers to its "powers" it should be checked, so far I havn't gotten another bar since I used my others for Transfiguration.

I wonder what woohooium does in combination with the HEL love bed. Actually I haven't tested that bed at all, because the energy level it provides is so low, but maybe I will.
I asume that in combination with the woohooium, the woohoo producing sims will get one great moodlet.
Too bad there isn't any particular moodlet for having a good woohoo, otherwise we could compare.

Just came to my mind. Those metals could maybe increase the chance of getting twins or triplets.
That way, it would be immediately your favorite metal, Pam. :D

Hmmm ... not found that metal yet.

Anyway, my Sims tend to woohoo in a sarcophagus in the basements, as it's easier to queue the action [who cares about romance?  ::) ]

The only time my sims have acquired woohooium so far is digging through garbage cans while on vacation in France. I never got around to testing the effects of it since I abandoned that saved game soon after.

Oh, I can get twins and triplets, no problem.  But I'll have to find some of that woohooium and see what it does.  My Sim Elvis Presley (father of 11) happens to be in France at this very moment and he's not opposed to rummaging in trash cans.  :D

I wonder if there are any spawn places for woohooium. I've only found it in the consignment store, trash cans and through mining. Never noticed any side effects. My sims Emo-Kid and Rain Weird tried for baby with a woohooium bar at the nightstand but they only got one child (thank god).

I was coming to see if anyone had found any news about the woohooium but I'm guessing it's still being tested.  ;)  I have found 2 in the consignment store this sim week and I just sent them to be smelted. They look cool if nothing else.  ;D

Just did a google search and still nothing on spawn points for this metal, nor for the new flourite.  Maybe EA will add some spawn points in a patch.

I did find a post where somebody got woohooium at the relic store while in France.  So, I'm going to start checking relic stores while on any vacations.

Also, I found this transfiguration recipe for woohooium in the google search, but have not confirmed it.  They claim it is the most reliable recipe for creating woohooium:

Top row: Platinum with Mercury vial stacked on it, Mercury, Palladium, Silver

Bottom row: Platinum, Mercury, Iridium, Silver

Neither metal nor gem can be found in the wild.  The only ways to get them are to mine, sculpt, buy at consignment store or buy at one of the relic stores in Chine, France and Egypt.  Maybe they will put them out to spawn at some point, but I don't see them doing so anytime soon.  Just my personal opinion.

One of my sims found an already smelted ingot of Woohooium in the mausoleum.  So it seems to be set as a random treasure.

I'm almost certain I found Flourite in the wild.  But just shoot me because I can't remember where.  I've just come off the Crazy Eight's Collector's Challenge and all of my gem collecting is a blur.  You can definitely get Flourite from breaking space rock blocks, but I really think I found one in the wild, too.

I changed the title of this thread so we can talk about both of the new collectibles in Ambitions.

I thought I'd found flourite in the wild too, beind the railway car in Twinbooke - sort of near the science building *I think* - it was quite some time ago and I don't generally look for gems in the wild, it's not very efficient but I think I was out there getting palladium and checking for pink diamonds.

Confirmed!  Using all small ingots and mercury vials, I got a small iridium ingot and a small woohooium ingot.  Using all large ingots, I got the following small ingots:  iron, iridium, woohooium, and mummitomium.

That's the rectangular piece of metal you get back when you send most ores off for smelting.  And before you ask, "ore" is the lump of metal you find on a rock and gem hunt.

My sculptor in now level 9, and seems to regularly get woohooium and fluorite as 'impurities' when sculpting in stone.

No idea what use they are, though!! ;D

Woohooium is just neat after you get it smelted.  I put it next to my couples bed.  Flourite, I just get it changed into the sculptors egg gem and display them, but that is me.  I have a house that has tons of eggs, hmm, maybe transmute those little puppies, lol, but, that is another thread.

Just a question:

Since there are not any spawn points known for Woohooium and Fluorite, and the best way to get them is the Miner, they do not count towards the stats in the collecting challenges, so the only way to acquire them is by a recipe in the display case.

Thanks to ab9rf, we may have the recipe for Whoohooium (although I do not fully understand it), now we need to see if there is any formula to get Fluorite.

You can get Fluorite by sculpting stone and woohooium by sculpting metal.  You can also pick them up at the consignment store and all the relic stores in the travel destinations.

You can get Fluorite by sculpting stone and woohooium by sculpting metal.

I have gotten both from sculpting stone.  I don't think I have gotten anything from metal.  I purposely do not give them savvy sculptor, so the stone will crumble and I can get the woohooium.

The display case's name is Carter's Display Case XL Edition, and when you put 8 collectable items on it you can transfigure, and not "transmogrificate", wherever that came from.

Hi there,

I tried this yesterday and got a lot of ingots but no woohooium :/
To be sure I tried different thing : big ingots, small ingots, big and small, ...

Is it still working with the last updates and EP/SP ?
Or maybe I'm doing something wrong :/
So what ? ^^
(about Mercury, should I use vials or the big ingot ?)

Thanks

Hi Ange and welcome to our Forum.

I think this formula would very likely have changed with the new metals that are now available with the release of Late Night.  I find woohooium at the Consignment Store and at the Relic Shops.

Thanks for this quick answer ^^

In fact I've already found Woohooium by sculpting stone and digging in the ground but I'm interested in the transfiguration way ;)

If anyone know the new formula, I'm there \o/

Let's see if it increases in value when people Woohoo right next to it, maybe the metal is gaining weight or so. Would be very not-EA like, they'd probably not promote 'Woohoo-ing' for simoleans! ;) But worth a try.

The display case's name is Carter's Display Case XL Edition, and when you put 8 collectable items on it you can transfigure, and not "transmogrificate", wherever that came from.

The kid, Calvin (from the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes), is the one who is famous for transmorgifications.

As for Woohooium, the general theory that I've seen is that if you have it on the nightstand by the bed, you won't get rejected for WooHoo interactions.

So...now we have something to test, I suppose.

A transmogrificate (noun) is one who can change shape (usually flawed or with a humorous or grotesque appearance) to fit his/her surroundings.  To transmogrify (verb) means change and transmogrification means changes or the act of changing.   Note:  This word was first used in 1656  :o

To transfigure, on the other hand, means to alter the outward appearance of; transform.

So transfigure is really not the correct word to use but works for those of us that can't pronounce [or spell] transmogrificate - lol

Thanks for the research, but in Sims Wiki it says transfiguration

Sorry if this is off topic  :)
So, has anyone found out if the current combination to get Woohooium works without Late Night? (I have Fast Lane Stuff, but not Late Night installed) Thanks in advance!

I believe the game actually calls it "transfigurification," which is neither transfiguration nor transmogrification.  It's a made-up Sims 3 word, apparently.

I found some woohooium in my sims inventory after returning from a trip to China one time. Unfortunately I sold it not knowing how rare it is or how hard it would be to get any more.

I only noticed it in my inventory after returning from my trip so I don't know exactly how my same came to be in possession of it. Although I can say none of my sims have ever yet done any mining, or sculpting or rummaging through garbage cans.

I noticed a post earlier in this thread that said metals and gems cannot be found in the wild. My collection helper would strongly dissagree with this claim. They most certainly can be found in the wild and in abundance.  I just had a sim spend two days straight with Testingcheatsenabled on and needs set to static, teleporting from spawn point to spawn point gathering up every gem, lump of metal ore and space rock there was. and the next full week picking up everything that respawned. My trip length was 18 days but I gave up after that because it was just getting very boring picking up everything that respawned with no woohoium.

My previous sim that had it must have come across it some where. Didn't find any at the relic vendor. I'm wondering if it can spawn in the treasure chests in the tombs or maybe even from excavating dig sites.

The only thing I'm certain of is that neither mining nor sculpting are required as none of my sims have ever done either.

I went through this thread to see where you saw a post about metals and gems not being found in the wild.  (Next time, quoting it would be good.)  I think you misunderstood what the poster was saying.  She wasn't saying that all metals and gems cannot be found in the wild, just the woohooium and flourite that we're discussing on this thread.

About mining and sculpting, we're not saying they're required to find these items, just that a sculptor without the Savvy Sculptor trait will sometimes get one or the other when a sculpture fails and breaks.  And that these items can also be found mining.

As for your woohooium, it may have come from excavating a site while on vacation.  It can slip in without you realizing it like that.

This makes me want to dig in game code to figure this out. Coding can't lie!unfortunately I'm to afraid of breaking it. Could a coder get in there and do some translating?

I did a quick search of the gameplay data with notepad++ and in the social data resource it says something about the amorous value being 56 or 57 (provided the sims are romantic partners). I think that means that it is lower than usually required for a sim to accept the woohoo request. Whether that is the relationship bar, the flirty/alluring/irresistable I'm not sure. Someone might need to test in game. Normally it takes about 3 flirty interactions, 3 alluring interactions to get the other sim to find them irresistable. I'm not sure what the relationship threshold is for woohoo to be accepted normally.

Confirmed!  Using all small ingots and mercury vials, I got a small iridium ingot and a small woohooium ingot.  Using all large ingots, I got the following small ingots:  iron, iridium, woohooium, and mummitomium.

Now with Supernatural out I've been getting Woohooium occasionally when my witch casts conversion spells on things like conjured apples.

I received a woohooium ingot in the mail as a gift!  I don't have WA or supernatural, just ambitions and seasons.  Glad I found this thread, today was the first time I'd heard of it.

Relatively new here and just saw this thread for the first time. Forgive me for reviving an older thread, but just have to share a machinima I made a while back about woohooium.  ::)

Many metals, if not most of them (and other random items too), can be obtained by being witch sim and using the "conversion spell" if you have Supernatural pack :)  Though its very very random of what item you get.

If you have wold adventures, and your sim is a master at sim-fu, when they break space rocks at the board breaker they can randomly get a raw metal or uncut gem from doing so. My sim has broken at least 80 space rocks and has only gotten about 1 or 2 woohooium and a few flourite.

Welcome to our Forum!

Are you certain about that Woohooium?  Breaking space rocks only produces gems, to my knowledge.

Just to add to the research here,

Platinum with Mercury vial stacked on it, Mercury, Palladium, Silver

Platinum, Mercury, Iridium, Silver

I tried this recipe, and got

1 Mummitomium

10 Iron

1 Supernovium (8,813)

No woohooium

I have ALL EPs and SPs. I did it repeatedly, same result each time.

So at least for me, it seems to be a reliable recipe for Mummitomium, but not Woohooium.
