I would suggest being very careful about turning it off and on.

Agreed.

@Saltpastillen and Nutella: Don't worry so much guys, the current plan is to turn it on for gen 12, turn it off when he/she moves and turn it back on for the rest of the game at gen 14. And gen 6 is almost a child so it is a long way off, update in the thread will come as soon as I've stopped tinkering with photobucket...

I turned off ITF, since Gen5 (sculptor) wasn't getting any Business opportunities; she finished up the last of her requirements 2 days after hitting elder. All the game did for me is give me the warning that missing objects were replaced by the closest available. I had to redecorate the house, and redo the spouse's wardrobe, but that's it. Biggest issue I ran into since was that people weren't aging up, so I just restarted the game and that fixed it.

I had planned to turn it back on, then turn it off for generation 9, then turn it back on until generation 13, off, then back on at 14. But really, ITF does not (in the end) add too much that I just Can't Live Without, so it'll stay off until generation 15.

Once again my sims were courting disaster when traveling abroad. They lost all family ties, and two of them never showed up again once we got back home. Only the dreaded green square... Can I go back and use the save from just before their trip?

Great, I'm only sending one of my sims this time - don't want to give myself the aggravation again.

How embarrassing -- I think I've failed this. Here's the situation -- Heir 2 has become best friends with his mother, whom Heir 1 claimed as a unique best friend. I should have known better than to claim the future spouse as a best friend. If I'm wrong about this, let me know before I send my story to the Graveyard.

Yes, I think you're right unfortunately. At least it's early on.

@MarianT

Yes, you're right.  :'(   Better to keep your unique best friend outside the house next time, safer.

Thanks-- I don't know what I was thinking, that it was the Baby Boomer challenge maybe.

If you choose the townie option the only thing to do is bring the funds to 4000, you don't have to sell anything if you don't want to.

So I have Generation 6 at University. She picked up a standard opportunity there (Play Collegiate Sport), which she's completed twice now. It's not registering as completed, though. May I count it?
