The Sims 3 Immortal Dynasty Challenge
« Reply #9050 on: November 14, 2013, 12:16:19 AM »
My 2nd Gen heir got married today and it happened to coincide with Spooky Day in game so I gave the reception a Spooky Day theme with most of the free items from the store. It looked pretty cool. However, I did not realize Grimmy would use it as an excuse to attend my Sims wedding and take home a +1 with him. The Mother Of The Groom died just as her son and new daughter and law were standing under the wedding arch exchanging vows.  I hope I got some good screen shots and I'm planning on starting my story soon. I was waiting to see if I would make it out of Gen 1 and get a good start with Gen 2 before I got too invested in the storytelling :)

RIP Faith MacDuff Morning

Are those popping up? I have had my sim as a gardener, but thought maybe I should try a job to see if that will give me ops.

It is, I got a 3rd one today.

Are genies still un-allowed to be an immortal household member? Even if they are not to provide any immortal (not being a spouse to born the next heir)?

And by aliens, does it mean that we could have an alien household member but not a dynasty spouse or child?

Genies are not allowed because of their extended life span. Alien spouses are allowed and they can be used to bring in the next heir. Abduction babies are not allowed and have to be returned to their homeworld at the moment of their birth.

You have to make a written record of all your completed opps as you go I use my Sims bio section for this purpose.

I know Mods aren't allowed for the challenge but it would be cool if someone wrote a mod that would log your opportunities in a journal like the skills are.

You probably want to try to look them up and find their names, because you want to make sure no other immortal does them and counts them as unique. (You have to record all ops you do, not just the 6 unique, otherwise you don't know they're unique)

What were they for? If you summarize it we can probably find the names.

i've only been doing job/skill related opportunities so far.  my first gen sim is a self-employed gardner.  the last one i did was deliver 20 harvestables to the bistro.

thanks for the link, but i have to start over now anyways.  my wife keeps resetting the life span to epic when ever she plays then doesn't tell me and doesn't reset it herself when she's done  :( .  its rather frustrating, i already finished all the skill challenges for gardening.  is there a way to make separate accounts on Sims 3 so we can each have our own settings?

You can make a factory reset folder and switch between them by naming the one you want to play "The Sims 3" an the inactive one something else. Your settings will stay in your file and hers in hers.

Sorry to hear that. Best of luck next time. :)

Another question about genie from me... Are the non-immortal/heir have a child with the genie?
and if the child is human, is he/she allowed to be the next dynasty spouse?

I really like to have a genie colour blend in LOL

No, because there's the chance the child would be a genie, which is disallowed due to the extended lifespan.

Otherwise, the answer would be yes.

Im pretty sure others with completed dynasties have genies in them as spouses, but maybe it was a cured genie. I cant remember exactly.

So, can we tweaked the genie face and then cure the genie then add her/him to the household?

You can cure a genie and add them to the household, but you can't tweak their face. That involves cheats or plastic surgery and both are banned.

The rules say you can have a playable ghost as part of your household - but how do you get rid of them to make room for an heir? Do ghosts "die" again? I've never played a ghost.

They keep their gravestone in their inventory and when you click on it it gives the option 'Return to Netherland'.

Do not click on their gravestone and select return to netherland. This is against dynasty rules and counts as intentionally killing a Sim.
Ghosts will die of old age like any other Sim the only difference is that a ghost who has died cannot be brought back by the oh my ghost opportunity. This opp is obviously banned for the immortal dynasty anyway so should not pose any problems.
