Penny: Happy Birthday, son!

David: Wow, thanks! I never expected this.

Penny: Well, if you're going to be a writer, you need your own computer.  I don't want you hogging the laptop when I'm trying to make inappropriate forum posts.

So generous.

Penny has finally reached the top of her career and become a sports legend.  I sent her straight to her first autograph session.

Meanwhile, Shannon is 90 days old.  Probably twice that between the makeover, tattoo, and young again potion, but who's counting.  She could go any day now, so it's time to enjoy life.

Some early morning woohoo,

and a quick donation gives her enough lifetime happiness to buy the family a new toy.

Who knows, might come in handy.

And I finally let her retire.

Back before David was born, I had a bit of a scare with Marian there.  Namely, she'd dropped off everyone's relationship panels, I didn't know where she lived, and I wasn't sure if she was still in town.  Fortunately I managed to follow her home from work one day and get her back in the family's life.  And I'm not taking any more chances.

Shannon: Now, David is a loner, but as you can see, he's quite handsome...

In fact, I'd better make sure to stay friendly with next generation's spouse as well.

Prom falls on a non-work night this time around, so David gets to go.  He sure isn't happy about it, though.

There's gonna be so many people there.

Deal with it.  And do me a favor and try to find a romantic interest, would you?

Okay, fine then, you know one girl from school, invite her over.

She doesn't want to come.

Well... there's a boy.  D'you mind dating a boy?

I guess not.  I've never dated anyone, I might as well.

That's the spirit.

And sealed with a kiss.

Hey, what'cha writing about now?

Crab people.

Oh, a horror book?

Nope, non-fiction.

Well, it's been quite a fulfilling teen-hood for David.  Just one thing left to do.

Obligatory "child with parent's hairdo so you can see how alike they look" shot.

Wow.  Doesn't quite have that gorgeous jawline, but other than that he's all Mason.

And here's his actual look.  So excited to have that hair actually work for someone.

Oh, insane sims.  Thank you for giving me an excuse to use those outfits that would otherwise languish in CAS for eternity.

And forgot to mention, he Hates the Outdoors.  Well, since I'd already decided to go with writing and sculpting as his skills, I guess that works.

Actually, an insane fairy who hates the outdoors?  That really works!

I was hoping for Professional Author as a lifetime wish, and it did come up as an option, but I decided to go for Swimming in Cash, which he achieved as soon as we collected rent on the family properties that afternoon.

There was just one thing left to do before starting on requirements hardcore.

Wyatt, I'm sorry, but I think we should just be friends.  I mean, you're a great guy and everything.  It's not you; it's me.  See, I have to have a kid at some point, and it has to be with someone who's a different life state than anyone else in the family, so... well, I guess it kind of is you.

WHAT?!  You're telling me that evening under the stars meant NOTHING to you?

Man, this is always the hardest part.  So long, Wyatt.

David rebounded nicely, though.

And soon things started to get a bit more...

ah, intimate.

David got an opportunity to deliver a book to China.  His phone hadn't exactly been blowing up, so I decided to send him.  Marian went along so I could have someone do some tomb raiding while we were there, and Shannon went as well so I could get a bit more mileage (sorry) out of her travel LTRs.

This screenshot, taken upon their return, is actually a pretty good representation of how that trip went.

Marian's tomb raids kept getting cut short because I didn't think to pack any plasma fruit, Shannon got in a fight with the special merchant after one of her love charms backfired, and David got his opportunity done and spent the rest of the trip in base camp writing humor books about how much fun outdoor activities are.

Well, I guess that last part worked out okay.

Yeah, get it?  Because outdoor activities aren't fun at all.  They're terrible.

Yes, you hate the outdoors, we get it.

Anyway, it was good to be home.

I sent Shannon to visit a friend after yet another love charm, since I don't need her messing up any relationships in the household and I can't be bothered babysitting her.

It was the last visit she would make.

Jordan: Hey, old lady that my love-charm addled wife was kissing moments before she died.  You're kind of hot.

Jordan, please remember why you're here.

Oh, yeah, and can I go in and get her urn?

Farewell, Shannon.

So I mentioned a while back that my game hasn't spawned occults since about week 2.  I wasn't exaggerating.  No one younger than teen stage ever became an occult, none of the move-in townies are occults etc.

Still I had my spouses all picked out and should have had enough in reserve to count as best friends, until Marian moved in.  Guess who's best friends with most of the remaining occult townies?

Now, sure, there's always imaginary friends, and I could always have the vampire and werewolf heirs turn some people, but I've got an heir with weeks of boring skilling ahead of him, and a recently widowed male founder with commitment issues.  I'll make my own future best friends.

Well, look who I found walking by.  Get to wooing.

Oh, if only there were some code in this game to make it put together outfits that match.  I mean, what lovely flowers, Jordan.  They match her skin.

Ooh, now we're talking.  Relationship bar's still not high enough for woohoo, though.  Why don't you take her out somewhere.

Meanwhile...

Marian, you've always known I'm a bit mad.  You chose to embrace me in spite of it all.  Will you let me be mad for you, for the rest of our days?

Can't get over that goofy grin.  Oh, and this was full moon, too, so he was in full on lunatic mode.

Yeah, they are easily the weirdest couple I've played in this game, but still so in love.

---------------------

Well, after two tries for baby in a tent outside the art gallery and 3 more back home in bed, I still had no chimes, so I sent Jordan and Morrigan to the shower for one more try before calling it a night.

Shower: Attention everybody! I have just been woohooed in by someone who does not live in this house.  You must all come tell her how unforgivable rude she's being.

Oh, honestly.  They're in Jordan's private ensuite bathroom.  No one else even uses this shower.  How would they even...

Entire household: How could they! Oh, the scandal!

Uh, they were just doing the exact same thing in his bed a few feet away...

Shower: Well, I never!

Oh, and still no chimes.  That's okay.  Sometimes the chimes just don't chime.  She's got to be pregnant by now, though.

Fast forward to Marian's bachelorette party...

Yeah, I don't think that's from too much pollen punch.

And this lovely little fairyboo is Denise.  Shame Jordan won't be able to get too close to her if we want to keep her open for a best friend.

But she's my baby girl!  Remember when Penny was this small?

I do.  I'll make it up to you after the dynasty, promise.

On a lighter note, for 5K lifetime happiness, David finally sculpted his first masterpiece.

A panda with its head cut off.  Well done, David.
Seriously I don't get this game sometimes.

I spend the days leading up to the wedding trying to get enough cash together to buy the nectary, so I could put a wedding arch in.

Wouldn't let me throw a party there, but that didn't keep me from throwing everyone into the motive mobile and heading over.

And everyone who happened to be there came down for the ceremony, so it ended up being quite a party after all.

Including young Denise O'Reilly.

Okay, 1) Aren't you a little young to be hanging out at the nectary of all places? and 2) How are you a child already, you were born like, a week ago.  Stupid random townie aging.

David's sappy wedding face is adorable.

Marian, I never imagined how amazing it would feel to be loved by a vampire.  But now, my only wish is for you to sink your teeth into me, every day, for the rest of our lives.

Oookaaay... little creepy, there, guy.

Ah, well, they're still a couple of cutie pies.

And they weren't the only ones who would find a bit of romance that evening.

Jordan's getting right to work making some more fairyboos.

The nectary turned out to be really nice for a wedding.  Nice open area with stereo for dancing, drinks readily available

And of course, beds upstairs for when the happy couple decides to sneak off from the festivities.

But is there trouble in paradise?  Because back home these two will not stop trying to flirt with each other.  So far I've always managed to catch it before it gets past "compliment appearance", but seriously guys, knock it off.

And here's David's completed mausoleum room, almost done.

Come on, Ice Personality.

On to the next one, gogogo!

Ah, yes, ice sculpture #25, the Necteaux.

And lets have a round of applause for David.  He finished his requirements a mere 25 days after his YA birthday (not counting his 6 days vacation), by far the quickest so far in this dynasty.  If only all my sims could be this easy...

David Carlisle - Generation 2 - fairy

One best friend - John Burb, vampire
Two career rewards - Sculpting skill certificate, Epic Hero medal (sculpting)
Three opportunities - Deliver a book to China, Help the School, A History of One
Four lifetime happiness rewards - Acclaimed Author, King of the Fae, Hover Bed, Fast Metabolism
Five wishes worth 5K points - Own 7 venues, Earn $10,000 sculpting, Master sculpting skill, Earn $20,000 sculpting, Sculpt a Masterpiece
Six skill challenges - Chiselmeister, Satire Novelist, Master Sculptor, Speed Writer, Prolific Sculptor, Ice Personality
Mausoleum piece - 7 sculptures

With David's requirements done, it was almost time to try for baby.  But first, *drumroll*

Super Epic Mega Rebuild!

Exterior

Interior
Starting from top left we have: nursery, master bath, master bedroom, wide open living area, Penny and Mason's room, Jordan's room.

Rear view

Basement.  Once an heir finishes their requirements, any skill equipment goes downstairs in their personal "skill bubble".

And now it's time to try for baby.

I'm not taking any chances this time, so I added some fertility treatment to Marian's viewing regimen.

And it worked! Marian gave birth to twin girls (not pictured): Ciara is an excitable, easily impressed fairy, and Naomi is an insane, neurotic vampire.

Okay, this will be interesting.

And Marian isn't the only one in town having nooboos.

Although I'm not sure driving a tour bus while in labor is the best idea.

Jordan, didn't I ask you to take her to the hospital?

Yeah, but she said that until I'm the one trying to squeeze a 7 pound ball of flesh out of my body I'm in no position to argue.

But while some lives come into the world, others are taken away (although I really wish it wouldn't go grabbing my camera focus every time a random zombie dies on my lawn...)

And we learn something important,

that not even Grim can resist the lure of the water slide.

Toddler-hood is upon us.

Ciara sparkles into a lovely blonde fairy.

Naomi's turn.  Please have red hair, please have red hair.

Dang.  Yeah, I could change it at the mirror, but I decided I'd rather let the genetics play out.

Thanks! The "add a room here and there as you have more money/need more space" method never works out for me, I always end up ripping everything out and starting over.

aside from the hair, your vampboo looks a lot like Marian. Good luck with the girls!

Yeah, with the exception of Penny, my heirs have really ended up taking after their non-bloodline parent (including gen 5 who is currently a teen in my game).  Loving the variety.

-------------------------

Gogo team toddler training!

Aw, look.  She's practicing getting nutrients for when she grows up.

What?

Well, when you're a grown-up vampire, you'll drink plasma from people like your mommy, instead of eating food like your daddy.

Nonono! Don't wanna.  Want real food.

Well, you can have some real food for now.

And of course, all the adults line up for autonomous toddler time.

Jordan: Look at those wings.  Look at you flying!  Ooh, that gives me an idea for a painting...

Snuggles with Grandma.

David: Come on, baby girl.  I know there's that nasty sunlight and all kinds of other icky things outside, but Daddy will always protect you.

Awww

Naomi's vampire skilling is a little inconsistent.  She's picking up the peg box at a normal rate,

But she flew through the xylophone in no time.

At least she has her sister to keep her company along the way.

Time to grow up.

Okay, you girls are both desperately in need of new hairstyles.

Ciara got the angler trait on aging up; Naomi is going to be doing cooking and alchemy for skills so she'll need a source for fish.

Naomi rolled the frugal trait.  And really likes long sleeves.

Need to stay covered, protected from the sun.

Sun can't hurt you yet, kid.  Not till you're a young adult.

What if you're wrong?  I need to be prepared.  I covered up that icky mark on my neck, too.

Insane, neurotic vampire.  You're developing quite the personality, aren't you?

As the girls kick off their childhood, Naomi gets a head start on becoming the family chef...

Ciara tries to convince her mother that flowers and bright colors are way better than dark and gloomy indoor rooms...

and Jordan, well...

Let's just say he's keeping busy.

Now David always just did his own thing without a care in the world.  His daughter on the other hand, is a very different sort of insane sim.

Okay, now it's swimwear...

No, no, formal.  Formalwear for school.  I think that's right.

Who are you yelling at?

The Thirst.  Mom says I'll start feeling the Thirst when I grow up, but I don't want to.  I can hear it talk to me sometimes.  It wants to make me drink from people, and hurt them.  I won't let it.  I won't!

You know, your mom drinks from your dad all the time, and he doesn't seem to mind.

Maybe.  But he's insane, like me, and I know we sometimes think things we shouldn't.

That was heart-breakingly adorable.  You're my favorite now.

Mason:  Don't worry.  When you grow up, I'll grow you plenty of plasma fruit.

Naomi: I don't wanna make you do that

Mason: Nonsense! We fairies love plants and gardening.  Well, except your dad, but he's always been kind of loony.

Naomi: Don't you dare talk about my daddy that way!  Is that what you think of me, too?

Mason:  No, no.  I'm sorry, I just... I forgot.

Naomi didn't have time to dwell on the matter; she had a field trip to look forward to.  Nice to see the girls in school with two of their... sort-of cousins?  No, I guess they'd be their several-times-great uncles.  The green one is Jeremie and the fairy is Ahmed.  I can't believe I remembered that.

Ciara: And we ran into Great Grandpa coming out of the theater with one of his girlfriends.

Naomi: I hope they didn't get hurt in there.  They were walking kind of funny.

OH!  Oh, my.  No, don't worry.  I'm sure they're fine.

Naomi: Everyday clothes for school.  Thanks for telling me, sis.

Ciara: I would have said something sooner, I just, I thought you knew.

Naomi: It's okay.

Well, Naomi, it's the last night of your childhood.  You age up tomorrow.

And then the Thirst will be even closer.

But not until tomorrow.  Enjoy yourself tonight.

And as she threw her head back

And felt the wind on her face

She almost felt free.

Ciara aged up first, Naomi still hoping to delay her eventual adulthood.

Yeah, that look is so not you, go change.

Better.  I want to say she got the friendly trait at this point.

But it was Naomi's turn soon enough.

Keep away, Thirst.

I'm not sure putting your arm through the chair is going to accomplish.  Still, this look is slightly more you.  You can have cake before your makeover.

She picked up the Adventurous trait.

And it was time to get to work on her cooking skill.

While Penny puts her old firefighting skills to good use after fireblasting her husband.

Need a romantic interest but none of the random babysitters in your class want to come over?  Just have your sister pick up legendary host and throw a party!

Naomi managed to secure a prom date with Carlton Bess, that auburn-haired kid down near the front of the limo.

But even as they danced that night, she knew what she would have to do.  She knew it had to end.

Naomi: So, it's 7.  7 for the dynasty, like the sculptures, or the paintings, or the gems.  7 life states.  But not yours.  So sorry, already got it.  Got it from the start.

Carlton: You're speaking madness.  What in the world are you talking about?  Are you insane?

Naomi: Of course I am.  Didn't you work that out when I came to prom in my gym clothes?

Carlton: It's all right.  Just calm down; we can get through this.

Speaking madness hadn't worked.  She'd have to pull out the big guns; reveal her darkest secret.

Naomi: Carlton, I think you should know, I'm a vampire.  Doesn't that frighten you?

Carlton: Well, I'm not happy that you kept it from me, but no, I'm not afraid.  I want to be with you, even if I have to bleed a little.

Naomi: No, you don't understand!  We can't be together.  We just can't, okay!

And almost too soon, it was time for the girls to journey into adulthood, Naomi looking more excited than her last birthday.

If I can't avoid the Thirst, I'll just have to keep on fighting.

So the sisters battle for the title

of worst age-up outfit ever.

Ciara gets the Brave trait and some new orange duds.

While Naomi wraps up her "don't-wanna-be-a-vampire" complex with a nice set of Commitment Issues.

Good luck, Naomi! Hopefully she'll invent some food that vampires can eat besides plasma fruit and juice. Also, I just want to say she reminds me of Emelie Van Gould from MF. Vampire, loves pink, blonde, braids, part of the vampire counter culture (is in love with Waylon Wolff at the start of the game). I can't wait to see where life takes our bubbly pink vampire.

They're back!

Naomi gets a job at the Bistro, where her boss is Susie Sackholme.  AKA her grandmother's best friend.

Well that's no good.

So she heads to the diner, where her boss is also Susie Sackholme.  Curse you, story progression!

Well, I guess the "boss" metric will have to stay in the red for this one.

Enjoying your first night out as a young adult, love?

It's all right.  I'm starving, though.  Can I get a plate of hot win- er, I mean a- a plasma punch?

Yeah, I don't think that actually has any plasma in it.  You should probably just head home and grab a juice box.

Meanwhile, next on the spouse list we have... ah, yes.  Aaron Finnigan, werewolf.

Luckily, they seem to have hit it off.

Ciara: I'll race you to graduation!

Naomi: LOL! Fairy float versus vamp dash?  You're on!

Naomi's pretty talented, dispatching this burglar handily despite having 0 athletic skill.  Still, why isn't Mason handling this?  Didn't he used to be a cop or something?

Oh.

Cop: So, I hear you're really into gardening.  Outside.  With your shirt off.

Mason:  Why, yes I am.  Maybe I could teach you a few things...

Excuse me, Mason!  You are a married man.  Knock it off with the sparkly hearts.

Naomi flies through the alchemy skill, but not before snagging the wish to master it.

Aaron took an offer to switch from the business career to politics, so it was time to throw some fundraisers.

As your (checks cheat sheet) governor, I promise to promote the arts,

and keep trash off our streets.

After spending her kids' entire childhoods on maternity leave, Marian is finally off to her first day of work as an astrounaut.

Meanwhile, Naomi's commitment issues kick in.

Naomi: ...but the fact remains that at any moment I could lose control of myself and start draining your blood.  Which is why I think it's best that we keep this unofficial.  We'll make a nooboo when the time comes, and then you can be done with me.  Plus, my sister's, like, REALLY nosy. You probably don't need her dropping into your private conversations all the time.

Aaron: Don't do this, love.  Don't let your worries take control of you.  I knew what I was in for when I moved in here.  We all have our issues.

I turn into a big hairy beast once a month,

and you shower in your evening wear, and none of that matters.  Because I'm here, with you.

Naomi: You really mean that, don't you?

Aaron: Every word.

In that case, well, will you marry me?

You bet

So, yeah, I've been playing a bit of sims 4 but I do really want to finish this at some point.  Plus I have a new PC to play on so you can  look forward to prettier screen shots in a generation or so.

@Nettlejuice Well since you mentioned it, here's the tale of Susie Sackholme and how she almost wrecked my dynasty.

Her first night at work, Naomi got one of those chance card thingies where she does something awesome and gets an instant promotion and the rest of the day off.  This raised her relationship with Susie to just the tiniest sliver from best friends status.  I knew I had to tank the relationship quick.  She hadn't learned the potent discord elixir recipe, but some mean socials ought to do the trick.  So I sent her over to Susie's house the next day, and Susie was invisible.  I had Naomi hit her with an Ad nauseum elixir and tried to follow up with a potent meloncholy, but Susie had to make breakfast.  Which she burned, so she made it again.  By the time she finished, the ad nauseum had kicked in.  The toilet was upstairs.  3 sim hours later I had barely made a dent in the friendship bar.  Ended up going back over the next day with every form of bottled nastiness she could whip up and finally managed to get things back down to a comfortable level.

Naomi got her cooking skill high enough to fix her dad his favorite food, grilled salmon.

And a little something for herself, plasma fruit cobbler.

Meanwhile, Aaron isn't always having the best luck winning over his constituents.

Aaron: How 'bout this one?  Your mama sheds so much...

Orion: My mom's dead, you jerk.

Yeah, maybe stick to the inspiring speeches rather than the shedding jokes

Another paparazzi dies in our backyard, presumably because I have celebrities disabled in this file and they have nothing better to do.

But at least it give Ciara the chance to...

to, ah...

Ciara: Has anyone ever told you that hood really brings out the emptiness in your soul?  It's pretty hot.

NOPE!  There will be no hitting on Grim in this household.  Go... fish, or something.

That's better.  Hanging around the cemetery at 2AM ought to keep you out of trouble.

Back to the nectary for wedding time

And post-wedding time

Naomi took up piano in the hope that she would wish to master it.  No luck there.

Same with photography, but she managed to get a $2500 photo of the Vault of Antiquity to satisfy a 5K wish slot

And, (drumroll) here comes the Try for Baby

Sounds like you had some terrible glitches to battle with Susie. That dopey face Naomi is pulling is hilarious as is her romantic inclination towards Grim. Love the fireworks shot at the end.

Meet Gen 5!

The one on the left with the beautiful bright green skin is Selene, who is unfortunately a vampire.  The sleepy one on the right is Luna, the heir.

They would soon age up...

into the two most adorable toddlers I think I've seen in any of my games.

Toddler spam incoming, but first,

Emergency potty training!  (Seriously, I went into build mode and stuck the potties in the dining room because there was no way we were gonna make it to the nursery in time.)

Followed by a round of synchronized milk-drinking.

And while the gnomes relax and enjoy some old movies,

And poor Mason gets fire-blasted by his wife, again,

the girls start to discover who they are.  Luna tests out her claws on a desk chair,

and Selene learns to feed.

Still, the life of a dynasty toddler isn't all fun and games.  There are lessons to be learned:

And having 2 toddlers with way too many adults wanting to take care of them can cause some problems.

Seriously?  What am I supposed to do with this?

Never mind, figured it out.

But it's all done...

out of love.
