Finding the Hermit in Granite Falls
« on: January 13, 2015, 08:51:08 PM »
Here's a Guide to finding the Hermit in Granite falls. There are heavy spoilers there, so don't visit if you don't want to know. I'd like to know if I've missed something in order to improve the page, although I'm still investigating the area myself. The forest is huge, so I'm sure some people will come here to seek the location so I'll sticky this topic.

Just FYI, I got a different path when going through the brambles to the Hermit's home. As far as I can tell, the first and last ones ("Step Forward" instead of "Retreat from Adventure", and "Travel Towards the Sim" instead of "Leave the Bramble Patch") are always the same. It's the two middle ones that change. But both times I successfully navigated the bramble patch, I did so by choosing "Keep Walking" (instead of stopping to fish at a brook) and "Sally Forth" (instead of stopping to take a nap when tiring). I took screenshots, if you're interested.

Ok, thanks! I was thinking there were more than the two paths I found. I have to deliberately fail it when I see the same one in order to pick them all up, so my Sim is going to get mauled by a lot of bears today.

Yes there are more questions when trying to find the Hermit than stated in the guide.

Hello! I would like to ask if my sim can marry the hermit and if so, what do I need to do? My sim's already engaged to the hermit but I can't find any way to marry him because the options of planning the wedding event and elope are disabled. Hope you could help me. Thanks a lot!

I've never actually tried to marry the hermit but take your sim home and then invite the hermit, by phone, to hang at your sims lot. If that doesn't work try traveling to a community lot from your sims home slot and choose the hermit as one of the people to travel with.

You will be able to marry/elope in the home worlds. For some reason marrying is not a function allowed in the vacation world of Granite Falls.

There is no option to invite the hermit to visit, however if you have a high relationship with the hermit, there is a good chance that they will call the very next day and invite themselves over. Then you can move them in and get married.

That's weird @_Annika_  as I have had the hermit on my list of people to travel with often... has it changed recently?

I was working on one of challenges recently and found that. Unless one of the other EPs change that with clubs and things, I don't know.

K, thanks. I'll have to take my current sims to go met the hermit and check that out.   :)

In my case, I couldn't invite the hermit to my lot, but he appeared among the people I could select to travel with so I took him to a park (in either Willow Creek or Oasis Springs) and could ask him to move in from that park.

Cool thanks @oshizu that's what I've just been able to do too. I guess the invite to hang at current lot must have been a very early game interaction. But the hermit still appears as a 'travel with' choice so that works easily. Just adds one more step... travel with to (say) park, then travel with back to home lot if that is where you want to get married.

I always think it's a bit weird that sims can't get married at Granite Falls.
