This is my second attempt at a Life States Dynasty. (I misread a major rule the first time around and made things much harder on myself.) It's also the first time I've ever posted anything Sim-related online, so bear with me.

I didn't take any pictures until the Gen 3 heir was a toddler. I'm not particularly interested in taking pictures of everything, so please, don't ask. I will provide photos of each member of the family as a young adult, as well as a few additional pictures of each heir, and maybe a few extras from time to time.

There isn't really a story, per se, any more than there is a plan. But I'll try to share some of the interesting tidbits, hopefully without rambling too much.

(Featured in the banner is Helena Savidge, generation 2 heir.)

Generation 1: Natasha Savidge
I put a spell on those ghosts.

It began with the arrival of Natasha Savidge, a young witch with dreams of starting a family, inventing a time machine, and being the best ghost hunter Moonlight Falls has ever seen.

Natasha's traits: Charismatic, Workaholic, Good, Eccentric, Great Kisser

Ghostbuster Extraordinaire
Natasha's LTW was to reach the top of the Ghost Hunter career. And she did so with relative ease. Nearly every night she was out looking for rogue spirits or charming wayward ghosts. It seemed everyone in Moonlight Falls had need of Natasha's ghostbusting services.

Who ya gonna call?

Inventor
An Eccentric woman at heart, Natasha spent the majority of her free-time collecting scrap and building more widgets than she could count. She was very proud of her Time Machine, though eventually she'd make so many it wasn't very exciting anymore. Natasha really wanted to build a Master Invention. But even though her husband planted at least one or two life fruit plants before their kids were born, and despite having several talented gardeners in the family, it wouldn't be until Natasha's grandkids were teenagers that there would be enough life fruit to complete her project. Still, she was finally able to build a Simbot, Josephine (who kind of freaked Natasha out and was kicked out immediately).

Probably building a widget... again.

"This is what I've been waiting two generations for?"

Dante Morganthe

Natasha married Dante for three reasons: 1) he was a vampire, 2) he was young and reasonably attractive, and most importantly, 3) he was rich. Natasha knew from speaking with her cousin Susanna (the founder of my first attempt) that Dante owned an expensive car that could be sold for a nice early boost of cash. So after selling the $80,000+ car, Natasha and Dante had no need to live off scraps or at the fire station. They could start out in relative comfort.

While Natasha kept busy inventing and ghostbusting, Dante mastered the alchemy skill and started a garden. And he also worked his way up the criminal career track. But Dante's Mean-Spirited nature, combined with his eventual position as Emperor of Evil, clashed with Natasha's Good trait. I'm not sure how it happened, exactly, but twice they went from being friends to being enemies. Several times one of them rolled the wish to divorce the other. Only Dante's friendship elixirs kept their relationship on the positive side of the spectrum. Dante soon quit the criminal career in an attempt to make his wife happy. He worked in politics for a while, then science, before reaching the top of the medical track and staying there.

As time went on, their relationship settled around neutral. As their kids grew up and they were left to their own devices, they started making out more frequently, but not enough to build a substantial relationship. Dante continued to pick fights with everyone (his son-in-law, mostly, but also his daughters). He and Natasha never divorced, but finally she kicked Dante out of the house (only to see him the next night when he hired her to find some ghosts in his new place).

Dante's traits: Flirty, Commitment Issues, Great Kisser, Ambitious, Mean-Spirited

Gardener/alchemist by day, criminal by night... bane of my existence always.

Love Charms
After her requirements were met, Natasha finally had the time to practice her magic. It started out fairly harmlessly - constantly playing with magic at work and conjuring apples. But when Natasha learned how to cast a love charm, things got... interesting. She tried it on her unsuspecting family members first, but they were usually able to avoid her. Then, she started turning the charms on herself - usually when I wasn't paying attention. Maybe it's my fault for kicking Dante, her make-out partner, out of the house. But whatever the reason, I had to quarantine Natasha several times to keep her from forming random romantic interests, and thereby cheating on Dante, to whom she was still technically married. Still, Natasha was successful twice. The first time, with a male maid, and I didn't catch them until after the first kiss. (The man was dismissed shortly afterward). The second time, Natasha was at work, and decided to kiss a female ghost she'd been hired to banish. So maybe Natasha wasn't breaking things left and right, but she was still a bit of a menace. Or a Cupid, a really bad Cupid.

Practicing magic in the bathroom, of all places.

Never mind that you were hired to banish this ghost. You do you, Natasha.

Children
Natasha and Dante began the family tradition of having triplets on the first pregnancy. Isadora, Helena, and Laura, all girls, were also all vampires. I had a hunch right away whom I'd choose as heir, based on their initial traits, but I decided to wait until they were children to make the final decision. So for their infancy and toddlerhood, the girls were all treated equally, as though each might be heir.

After the girls grew up into childhood, the choice of heir remained the same: little Helena, second-born, would build the next generation of the family.

Gen 2 Spares

Isadora Savidge: Slob, Clumsy, Good Sense of Humor, Genius, Kleptomaniac

Took up painting as a teenager. Dated Tristan Van Gould after moving out. Didn't realize her boyfriend liked asking her mother out.

Laura Savidge: Absent-Minded, Couch Potato, Good, Angler, Equestrian

Named for Laura Hollis from the Carmilla web series. Wanted to be a journalist. Also turned out just as gay as her namesake, when she started dating Baylee Howler after moving out.

Generation 2: Helena Savidge
Maybe we're all insane...

Generation 2 brought Helena to the family. She is, quite literally, the crazy one in the dynasty. But they love her anyway.

Helena's traits: Easily Impressed, Eccentric, Genius, Insane, Neat, Never Nude (Nerd)

Growing Up
Helena's growing up years were pretty uneventful. The triplets were fairly easy to care for, even considering the fact that there were three of them and only two adults. Isadora and Laura, Helena's sisters, weren't particularly memorable. But they were all well-behaved, and pretty, and that counts for something.

The hardest part about vampire offspring is the accelerated rate at which they learn most skills. This would be fine for a normal Sim household, but in a dynasty, it's a problem - the right wishes won't come up for Sims that max skills almost instantly. I knew this from my first dynasty attempt, so I was able to avoid the pitfalls. Helena wasn't allowed to join after-school activities as a teenager, or use any object (mostly arts or athletics related) that would lead to insta-maxing skills. I let her play chess and max logic, though I was careful to keep her away from skill challenges. Fortunately, Helena decided upon reaching young adulthood that she wanted to work in the Science career, a job that requires gardening, handiness, and fishing - all skills that vampires learn at a normal pace.

Helena in her mad scientist uniform, looking over one of her space rocks.

Resident Madwoman
Of all the trait combinations I've seen thus far in the Savidge family, Helena's is by far my favorite. Particularly that Insane trait she rolled as a teenager. Helena has been known, on more than one occasion, to argue with herself (but hey, it's better than fighting with others like her father did).

Helena, you do know there's no one there, right?

But more commonly - in fact, pretty much every single time I leave her alone - Helena can be found staring at plants. She's spent countless hours working in a garden, but never ceases to be enthralled by fake, indoor plants. Doesn't matter where she is; if there's a plant to view, she'll watch it, until I direct her to do something more productive.

At home...

...and out on the town. There are plants everywhere to be stared at.

Also, the Insane trait, combined with Never Nude, which she rolled for maxing nerd influence, has led to some interesting outfit/activity combinations. I think I have only seen Helena autonomously wear her Everyday outfit once. She generally prefers her formal dress, her outerwear, and her athletic gear.

Her precious, precious face.

Skillbuilding
After rolling her LTW and deciding to become a scientist, Helena took over her father's garden. Helena only finished one of the gardening skill challenges, mostly because by this point I was sick of gardening.

In the Savidge family, only the vampires work in the sun all day.

In her quest to max handiness, Helena set about fixing and/or upgrading everything in sight. Except, apparently, for the upstairs fireplace, which set fire to the living room rug three times in a row when her kids were growing up, before Helena finally got around to fireproofing the stupid thing.

Natasha helped out a little toward the end, when nobody seemed capable of breaking plumbing objects for some reason. A few ice spells here and there and Helena was finally able to call herself a plumber.

Can she fix it? Yes, she can!

Zuvihac Shukepoj
From a young age, Helena was determined to meet an alien one day. Since she wasn't allowed to learn skills during her childhood and teen years, Helena spent her free time out in the world looking for space rocks. By the time she became a young adult, Helena had collected at least twenty or so space rocks, and arranged them in rows outside the house. About three nights after her young adult birthday, the first alien visited the Savidge house. His name was Zuvihac Shukepoj, and Helena (and I) loved him instantly. Helena threw a friendship elixir at him, to guarantee she could successfully invite him over later. The next day, they met at the town library, and before the outing was over, Helena had invited Zuvi to move in.

Zuvihac's traits: Green Thumb, Athletic, Artistic, Nurturing, Friendly

My precious bae. If only I'd known your nose would be such a genetic nightmare.

The first order of business was to give Zuvi a young again potion, so he wouldn't die the next day. Then he got to work mastering the painter career (his LTW was to be a top Stylist, but I was busy enough constantly monitoring Natasha's work and didn't want to put in the effort). He also became a bestselling science fiction author, no doubt because of his personal experience with space.

When Zuvi wasn't busy mastering the creative arts, he was fighting with his father-in-law, Dante. It was always Dante's fault, of course - he was mean to just about everyone. But these two especially did not get along. They even had an actual fight once, though I didn't find out about it until afterward. Aside from Dante, though, Zuvihac got along well with the family, Friendly Sim that he was.

Zuvihac would eventually move out with his daughters, the generation 3 spares. Unlike with Dante, whom I was very happy to kick out, Zuvi's departure was a sad day for me. He visited the house at least once, as an elder once again. He wanted to woohoo with Helena, but their relationship had fallen to neutral at that point and so that didn't happen. Zuvi was the first Savidge family member to die, may he rest in peace.

The Family Fortune
Money seemed to be one of the themes of generation 2. The Savidge family had started well off, with Natasha's shameless marrying of Dante for his money. As time went on, they invested money in venues, hoping to increase the family cash flow. Two of Helena's 5000+ wishes involved owning venues (5 and 7 venues, respectively), and one was Be Worth More Than 1,000,000 Simoleons. That last wish, in fact, was the last-ditch effort of generation 2. Helena had finished all her other requirements; she just needed the family to have more money. So the Savidges spent a week or so earning cash in whatever way they could. Zuvihac's top painting skills came in handy here - lots of quick Simoleons. In honor of this milestone, Helena placed seven of her homegrown money bags in the family mausoleum.

Post-Requirements
In her later years, I could mostly leave Helena to her own devices. Unlike Natasha, who tended to cast love charms on herself (or others) when attended, Helena mostly just stared at plants or played computer games. I did have to watch out when she and Natasha were both left alone simultaneously; multiple nerds in the family meant a lot of berating ignorance. So I frequently directed Natasha and Helena to play chess while the rest of the house went about their business. It kept them out of trouble, at least.

Probably another stalemate. Also, mother-daughter bonding.

Bonus: Gen 3 Heir Jalaso's legs in the background. You're welcome.

Helena's section of the family mauseoleum.

Children
Helena and Zuvihac continued the family tradition of having triplets. They were blessed with one boy, Jalaso, and two girls, Annika and Melira. The girls were both vampires; only Jalaso was an alien. So, automatically, Jalaso was named the heir.

Generation 3 Spares

Annika Savidge: Virtuoso, Perceptive, Good Sense of Humor, Charismatic, Ambitious, Computer Whiz (Nerd)

Mostly gorgeous, but inherited the most unfortunate nose I've ever seen. How does she breathe with that thing? Attended boarding school as a teenager, then took up painting. Later asked her brother to write not one, but
two biographies about herself. She may have a horrible nose, but at least she knows how to own it.

Melira Savidge: Genius, Eccentric, Hates the Outdoors, Gatherer, Mooch (Nerd), Nurturing

Hated going outside, but still managed to find a pink gem in the catacombs for her grandmother. She was supposed to go to boarding school with Annika, but for some reason she never left. She sat at home for two weeks instead.

Helena sounds like she was a lot of fun to play despite all the micro-managing. Melira looks much like her Mum and poor Annika with that nose.

Interlude 1

Just a few photos I had sitting around that I thought I'd share before posting gen 3.

I dug into Helena's memories to find a few pictures of her as a toddler, child, and teenager.

One night after Zuvihac died, Helena was abducted by aliens. Maybe they wanted her to come to his funeral?

"Get out, loser. You're not my husband."

This is what Natasha has to deal with at work sometimes. A four room house, and five ghosts. No wonder she's gone a little crazy.

Case in point. This happened recently, during generation 5. I can't tell you how many times I've had to yell at Natasha - and she's not even the insane one in the family.

And a preview...

Natasha reading a book to her grandson and heir, Jalaso.

Generation 3: Jalaso Savidge
I'm surrounded by idiots.

Jalaso is the first male heir of the family. Somehow he isn't affected by the crazy as much as the women of the family.

Jalaso's traits: Couch Potato, Loves the Heat, Excitable, Genius, Bookworm (Nerd), Mean-Spirited

Growing Up
Jalaso and his two sisters were triplets. Of the three of them, Jal was the only alien, so he was instantly chosen as heir. His early traits (Couch Potato and Loves the Heat) were somewhat less than exciting, so at first I had my doubts. Then he became a toddler, and I saw this:

The moment I started taking pictures of the dynasty. Also the moment I fell in love.

Jalaso was a good-natured child. He got along with his sisters and did well in school. And he continued to be the most adorable kid in the family.

Once he became a teenager, I discovered an interesting fact about alien offspring. All aliens have a Brain Power bar in place of their Energy bar. Jalaso's dad, Zuvihac, never had to sleep; all he had to do was recharge his brain power every now and then. Jalaso's Brain Power bar appeared once he reached teenager status... but his Energy need didn't disappear. I had assumed Jal wouldn't need sleep anymore, until a moodlet appeared that showed otherwise. Turns out, all half-aliens need both Energy and Brain Power, but only the Brain Power bar is visible.

My game crashed shortly after Jal went to prom, so he had to do it twice (a hardship, I'm sure). He autonomously hooked up with a different boy at each one. I had suspected my sweet, pink-loving heir would be into boys, but this confirmed it. He would prove to be bisexual, mostly out of necessity, since his heir status requires him to choose an opposite-sex partner - though I've always suspected he rolled Mean-Spirited as his last trait in protest for not being allowed to even consider dating a man.

He's not Natasha, flirting with everyone in sight, but he does like talking to cute boys.

Jalaso spent a significant amount of time playing video games and hanging out with his mom, trying to max nerd influence (because I had decided he would pursue the Game Developer career as an adult). It took much more time and effort than it had for vampire Helena, but he managed, with a little help from LTRs, to do it before his young adult birthday.

"You're going down, Mom!

College
I really don't care much for EA's story progression. When Jal grew up and started looking for a wife, he had very few choices, and not particularly good ones. So he became the first Savidge to take vacation days and went to University for a week. He didn't finish his communications degree, but that wasn't the point. Meeting girls was the point. I didn't think it through very well; I sent Jalaso to live in a fraternity, hoping it would get him into more parties, only to realize it's easier to meet girls when you live with them. Also, fraternity boys - especially Sims fraternity boys - are idiots.

Exhibit A: How many frat boys and firefighters does it take to put out a kitchen fire? (Jal was across town at the time.)

Jalaso found three decent options for future spouse: 1) a vaguely pretty werewolf girl, whom he actually dated briefly, 2) a gorgeous fairy girl with unsavory traits, and 3) another fairy girl with decent traits and a nice face. Jal finally settled on #3, Cade Macklamoor. Her good traits would make her easy to live with, and her slightly large nose would (hopefully) balance out the alien nose genes Jal inherited from his dad.

Sports Writer
Early on, I determined that Jalaso's Couch Potato trait would lend itself well to a life of writing books. Sports books, to be exact. His top-selling series began with Jack: Track Star, and would eventually include one sci-fi novel and one masterpiece. But personally, I think his favorite was the Big Balls series. By generation 5, Jal had written at least 40 novels - at least 25 of those bestsellers, and not a single flop.

"Let's see if they notice I've never played a sport in my life."

Jalaso also took up painting, to finish out his Illustrious Author LTW. It took quite a while for Jal to paint enough masterpieces to finish the skill challenge. At least it took him away from all the women in the house for a little while.

Steadfastly ignoring his grandmother in her underwear - "My mom dresses like that all the time. You get used to it."

Cade Macklamoor

Cade's traits: Perfectionist, Artistic, Frugal, Computer Whiz, Hopeless Romantic

Better than the other ladies in Moonlight Falls.

After returning home from university, Jal called Cade and soon got her to move in. I'm not sure how she got her LTW (becoming the Emperor of Evil), but I let her work at it while Jal was busy with his own stuff.

Cade never really stood out to me. I can't even remember if she finished her LTW before moving out. But at least she never picked fights, and she took good care of her children.

Post-Requirements
When left alone, Jal is very easy to take care of. He mostly watches TV or plays video games, which actually works out well and helps him with his career. I was worried about that Mean-Spirited trait, which he rolled just after I kicked Dante out. But oddly enough, it hasn't been an issue. Maybe it's because he doesn't socialize enough, but he's always seemed friendly to me.

My sweet, sweet boy.

Children
Cade's first pregnancy resulted in (surprise, surprise) another set of triplets. But, for the first time, none of the triplets were eligible for heir. All three were girls (I swear this is the default; Cade didn't have a single watermelon) and all three were aliens. So I was rather unkind to Cade and made her get pregnant again within hours of bringing the triplets home. I prepared the house for yet another set of triplets. Fortunately for all of us, Cade had the first non-triplet birth of the dynasty, resulting in a little fairy girl, Cailyn.

Generation 4 Spares

Shayla Savidge: Neurotic, Grumpy, Loves the Heat, Hopeless Romantic, Proper

Inherited the Nose of Doom, and possibly the rest of the bad family genetics. Survived longer than either of her sisters, though..

Bridget Savidge: Loves the Heat, Good, Bookworm, Vehicle Enthusiast, Good Sense of Humor

Looked a lot like her mother, but with grandma Helena's black hair. Eventually dated Sparrow Warner when she grew up - who liked to ask various Savidges out, including Bridget's grandmother and brother-in-law.

Cora Savidge: Perceptive, Easily Impressed, Lucky, Party Animal, Dramatic

Probaby would have been a blast to play, with those traits. Also, interesting combination of brown-green hair.

Generation 4: Cailyn Savidge
It's time to dance again.

Cailyn's traits: Athletic, Hates the Outdoors, Genius, Animal Lover, Easily Impressed

Growing Up
Cailyn was born about two days, give or take a few hours, after her triplet sisters. For all intents and purposes, all four girls were the same age. And, apparently, four toddlers are exponentially more difficult than three, even with four adults in the house. Thank god for Helena's motive mobile, or no one would have survived the ordeal. So. Many. Toddlers.

Daddy Jal reading to little Cailyn at the library.

This generation was the first to receive imaginary friend dolls in the mail. The triplets all managed to befriend theirs, so that they came to life once the girls were children. Cailyn, on the other hand, was so busy with requirements and trying to win attention from the grown-ups, that she never quite managed to spend enough time with her doll, Ricky. To this day, Ricky remains in her inventory, doomed to be nothing more than a toy forever.

At prom, Cailyn was the only one in the family who didn't find herself a romantic interest. Probably because she had her eye on an older man, but that's beside the point. But, not to be denied her teenage first kiss, Cailyn went out and found the only teenager, besides her sisters, who she was remotely friends with, and planted one on him. Turns out, Cailyn wasn't the first to hit on Gator Wolff - her grandmother, Helena, had done it once, too. And she wouldn't be the last; Gator, the immortal teenage werewolf, would also briefly try hitting on one of Cailyn's children.

Ian Yates

Ian's traits: Flirty, Excitable, Family-Oriented, Nurturing, Angler

The spouse with the best faces.

When Cailyn was a teenager, the family began to keep an eye out for potential spouses. It was probably Jal, who was often at the library, who first came into contact with Ian Yates, a handsome young adult mermaid. Cailyn had to busy herself with a teenage romantic interest at the time, but I kept my eye on Ian in the meantime. And sent Natasha (my charismatic instant befriender) to make first contact. Once Cailyn finally grew up, I sent both her and Natasha to the Yates household, and for the first time, Natasha's love charms actually came in handy. Cailyn moved in her new boyfriend right away.

A glitchy moment when Cailyn/Ian arrived home from China.

As it turned out, Ian was already a father - he had two daughters, Summer and Cecilia, by an unknown mother. The girls were almost exactly the same age as Cailyn, which, I'll admit, is a little weird, but sometimes in dynasties you do what you have to do. I think they were both human when Ian and Cailyn first met, but Summer, at least, became a werewolf before long.

Summer and Cecilia Yates, generation 5's half-sisters.

Ian spent more time with Cailyn than most dynasty spouses do, but only because they were working together to help Cailyn master Martial Arts. The rest of the time, Ian was usually out fishing. All the time, fishing. It was a quick and easy way to keep him out of my hair, and it earned him a fair amount of money, too.

The ultimate sparring partner.

Martial Artist
Because she rolled Athletic as an infant, I knew early on that Cailyn would master the Athletic skill as an adult. The real question was, which other skill would she work on? I thought about it, and decided Martial Arts would be perfect for her.

I just had to install World Adventures first.

So I did, and after a quick trip to China, Cailyn and Ian were on their way to becoming martial artists. They spent countless hours sparring together, and meditating on the side.

Training in China.

Smashing space rocks. (Way to ruin your grandma's work and one of your dad's sources of brain power.)

Master Thief
Following in her mother's (and great-grandfather's) footsteps, Cailyn joined the criminal career. But instead of becoming the Emperor of Evil, Cailyn opted for the thief track. It puts her athletic and ninja skills to use, anyway.

The master thief in a state of zen.

Dancing Queen
When Cailyn is left alone, she does one of two things: she works out, or she dances. And most of the time, she chooses to dance. If there's a stereo anywhere in the house, Cailyn will be there, dancing like a fool.

Where she gets it from - (from left) Cora, Cade, and Bridget moving to the music.

This really is what she does all day now.

Cailyn's section of the family mauseoleum.

Children
This generation, I did not think things through when it came to Cailyn's pregnancy, and it cost the dynasty several weeks of lost time. There were now five adults living at home, and Cailyn's first pregnancy added another set of triplets. If you do the math, that adds up to eight. Which, without mods, is the maximum number of Sims that can be present in a household. And because each triplet was a fairy, there was no heir.

And so, Generation 5-A began. Adriana, Isla, and Sebastian, fairies all, needed to grow up and move out before Cailyn and Ian could try again for a mermaid child. Because they were all spares, they underwent a rapid aging process. As soon as I knew they would age up well (i.e. they learned their basic toddler skills and earned A's in school as children and teenagers), they moved on to the next age bracket. Finally, they were old enough to move out.

With Cailyn's next pregnancy, I tried to keep it to a single birth. Apparently, I only get single births when I'm not trying, because she had twins: Nerisse and Dillon. Dillon was a fairy like his mom and older siblings, but Nerisse got her scales from her dad (who passed down his mermaid state to only 1 out of 7 children).

Generation 5 Spares

Adriana Savidge: Perceptive, Loner, Computer Whiz, Animal Lover, Evil

Inherited the more unfortunate family genes; there's always one. First family member to actually have the Evil trait, despite there being a long line of criminals in the Savidge house.

Isla Savidge: Genius, Loner, Equestrian, Frugal, Disciplined

Possibly the most gorgeous child of the dynasty thus far, and holds a special place in my heart. In my head, Isla is genderqueer, or possibly trans; I could never quite figure out which. I would love to use them in a future dynasty (de-fairified, of course).

Sebastian Savidge: Grumpy, Artistic, Neat, Childish, Never Nude

Got Grandpa Jal's green hair, which looks awesome on him. Went into music, and would become his brother-in-law's boss. Also got zombified at some point.

Dillon Savidge: Perceptive, Insane, Unlucky, Workaholic, Disciplined

Nerisse's twin; they were the best of friends. Well, actually he was closer to Zee, his imaginary friend. I made Zee real and got them hitched just before Dillon moved out.

Note: Before gen 5, I will likely be posting at least one or two interludes. I have a bunch of pictures of Cailyn and Ian - their wedding, their sparring matches, and Ian's faces. And I'd like to do an interlude for gen 5a, which got a little shortchanged and deserves some love. Also, eventually some more Natasha flirting with all the wrong people, and various Savidges scaring Helena.

Interlude 2: Ninja Masters
Being a tale of Cailyn and Ian Savidge.

For the most part, Savidge spouses play minor background roles, and barely interact with the heirs they married. Thanks to the necessity of a sparring partner to master martial arts, Ian Savidge was the exception. He and Cailyn spent more time together than any other couple, and I photodocumented some of it.

The early days of their partnership, in China.

The first - and probably last - Savidge couple to have a wedding party.

The obligatory kiss shot.

Everyone else is in formalwear, but Grandma Helena shows up... in her underwear, of course. Also, she's sunburned - how does a vampire do that? - and talking to herself. And the random cat is just thinking about the honeymoon.

Cailyn, honey, turn around; Ian's cutting the cake all by himself.

It's easier to fly through the air when you have wings.

Serious faces for serious business.

To the mirror: "Look at this face; look at how sexy I am. No wonder my wife always wants me."

Post-woohoo in the shower...

Seriously, he has the best face ever.

Cailyn's not far behind, though. She's a ninja and she knows it. But Nerisse, in the background, doesn't care; she just wants her bottle.

"I'm too sexy for this family. Just saying."

Hence why Natasha can't keep her lips off him, even with his wife and son standing four feet away.

"Yay, Dillon! I didn't just make out with your great-great grandmother or anything!"

I blame it all on Natasha.

But Cailyn won't let that slow her down. She'll just keep dancing.

Ian eventually moved out with his son Dillon. He would be spotted several times as an elder by his daughter Nerisse, hanging out in the park.

Cailyn... just keeps dancing.

Next up: An interlude featuring the triplets of generation 5A.

Interlude 3: The 5A Children
AKA The lost generation of beautiful people.

Thanks to some poor planning on my part, Cailyn and Ian had five children together, in total. Adriana, Isla, and Sebastian - the set of triplets, born first - experienced an accelerated life cycle, so that I could get around to having an heir. I don't have as much pictures of them as I thought, but I wanted to give them a little screentime, to make up for the days of life they missed.

"I think I can hear them!"

"You can't, idiot. But it's sweet of you to talk to them, anyway."

Proud Grandpa Jalaso holding Adriana or Isla... in his underwear. Classy.

But he's not the only one. It's a wonder these kids aren't scarred for life. That's little Adriana, by the way.

No pictures of them as kids, but here are all three as teens having a pie-eating contest. Sebastian looks a little overwhelmed.

At least Seb's not getting hit on by the creeper Gator Wolff, who is still a teenager somehow.

"Didn't you date my mom once? And my great-grandma?"

"Your point?"

Seriously, this kid is creepy.

Natasha likes food-eating contests, too. Here she is with the triplets' older half-sister, Summer Yates.

And with her grandson.

I didn't want to let Isla go. Snagged a picture outside the library after Isla moved out.

Funny story: Sebastian showed up outside the house one evening, sometime after moving out, all normal and everything, so someone invited him in. Almost immediately afterward, the moon rose, and I realized Sebastian was zombified. But it was too late... he was already invited inside. The Savidges spent the night avoiding the zombie attacks inside their house. It was a stressful night for all.

And a preview of the upcoming update, featuring gen 5 heir Nerisse:

"They think they know evil? I'll show them evil. After I eat this bread and jam, of course. Mwahahaha."

Interlude 4

I know you're all waiting for Nerisse's update, but it's not quite ready yet, so here's a very brief interlude to tide you over.

The only way to play pool is in your underwear.

"Oh, no."

"I didn't sign up for this!"

I missed it, but I'm pretty sure she kissed this guy.

Helena, doing the Thriller dance apparently. She's not nearly as frequent a dancer as Cailyn, and for good reason.

Jal, playing outside in the leaves.

This time, Natasha tried kissing an alive girl, instead of a ghostly one. Probably a better experience, I'd imagine.

Squirrel!

Coming soon: The generation 5 update, finally, and at least a few more interludes: one featuring the various Savidges scaring each other, and one in which almost every Savidge is interested in the gen 5 spouse. Fun times.

Generation 5: Nerisse Savidge
One of us is going down.

Out of all the children born to Cailyn and Ian, Nerisse was the only one who inherited her father's scales. She temporarily brought pets into the Savidge household. And, more significantly, she's the first one to put Natasha in her place.

Nerisse's traits: Athletic, Artistic, Animal Lover, Evil, Loves the Outdoors

Growing Up
Nerisse and her twin brother Dillon were the second round of children born to Cailyn and Ian. Her early years were mostly uneventful. She spent most of her time playing with either Dillon or her imaginary friend, Jaden.

"See, Grandpa Jal? This is how you play sports."

"Our family is crazy, isn't it?"

"Yeah. Does that make us the normal ones?"

"... not a chance."

Also, she started a trend - scaring unsuspecting members of the family. At least, I'm reasonably certain it didn't really start until Nerisse came along.

Just one example of many.

Jaden Savidge

Jaden's traits: Workaholic, Virtuoso, Loser, Frugal, Disciplined

Somehow even more irresistible than his father-in-law.

When Nerisse and Dillon received dolls in the mail during their infant days, I knew that Nerisse's would be the next dynasty spouse. Simply put, I wanted to use the life state in the dynasty, and there was no guarantee the gen 6 heir would be given a doll. And this time around, I made sure Nerisse spent as much toddler time with her doll as possible, so she wouldn't end up like her mother, with a lifeless toy forever in her inventory.

Om nom nom.

When the twins became young adults, I immediately had Nerisse make Jaden real. Then he promptly started working as a musician and playing his guitar all over town. For the entire time he lived in the house, Jaden played the guitar whenever he could, at home or at the park. He did very little else.

Except attract attention from the older Savidges. To my surprise, Natasha wasn't the only one who tried to hit on Jaden. In fact, she wasn't even the first.

This was taken when Helena tried, unsuccessfully, to flirt with him.

Eventually, Natasha did get in on the action; she wouldn't be herself if she didn't. But Helena would also try again. And Jaden managed to get along well with Jal and Cailyn as well. But I'll save the other photos for a future interlude.

Horse-Master
Nerisse was the second heir in a row to roll Animal Lover. After she rolled Loves the Outdoors too, I decided to be nice and let her have the one pet I can stand in this game - a horse. Or, to be more precise, several horses. A grand total of ten, I believe, but not all at once.

"I think I'm doing it wrong."

"Oh, that's much better."

Nerisse gave most of her attention to one horse in particular, whom she adopted as a foal. Odo became her primary racing horse. Every day, she'd take him to the Equestrian Center across town and participate in a race - or two, when I got the timing right. Odo also proved to be the most fun, with his habit of glitching and somehow showing up in the middle of a building.

Feeding baby Odo.

Twice Odo mysteriously ended up in the kitchen.

But he wasn't the only one. This horse ended up in the family mausoleum. Which only has one door, which is locked for everyone.

For the most part, Nerisse's other horses only stayed until they were Best Friends with their master. Then she put them back up for adoption, or sold them. She tried to make friends with wild horses, but for some reason, once I actually started looking for them, they were nowhere to be found. It proved to be too much work, so I gave up on that fairly quickly.

After her equestrian skill challenges were done, I promptly got rid of all the horses. I was a little sad to see Odo go, but not enough to keep him around.

Sculptor Extraodinaire
When Nerisse wasn't racing with Odo or befriending random horses she adopted for the purpose, she was hard at work at the sculpting station. It was a good way to put that Artistic trait to use... and it let her play with a chainsaw on something other than people.

"Take that, ice! Who's in charge now? That's right, I am!"

Fighter
Nerisse is the first Savidge heir to inherit the Evil trait. When properly entertained, through riding horses or sculpting with chainsaws, Nerisse does just fine. But, when she's left on her own for too long...

...this tends to happen.

Nerisse has gotten into fights with a few people around town. I have to be careful when I send her to the park; she likes to take the opportunity to pick a fight. But, for the most part, Nerisse only gets into trouble at home.

More specifically, with Natasha. Probably because Nerisse is Evil and Natasha is Good. But also because Natasha probably deserves it.

Natasha has kissed both her dad and her husband. If anybody's got a right to hit her, it's Nerisse.

"You wanna go again? I could do this all day."

Post-Requirements
Nerisse isn't entirely too difficult to manage, as long as I keep her away from Natasha. Sometimes she'll sculpt autonomously. Otherwise, I'll often find her in the small pool I built for her; the other Savidges like it too.

Practicing for her next fight. Though since she's only done this once, it probably won't help much.

Swimming in the ocean... her natural habitat, supposedly.

Her just-pulled-off-a-trick face.

Nerisse's section of the family mauseoleum. And yes, that is a headless giraffe topiary. Nerisse likes that one best.

Children
I decided this time around that I wanted a male heir - Jalaso was feeling a little overwhelmed by all the women in the house - so Nerisse ate several apples to make it happen. Then Nerisse and Jaden each rolled the wish to have a girl, but it was too late. Their first child was a boy and an Imaginary Friend, so he became the heir.

I decided to give little Sam a sister, since both his parents seemed to want that. And then while Nerisse was pregnant again, she and Jaden decided they wanted a boy instead. Make up your minds, people!

Born just for the heck of it. Or to keep Sam company. Otherwise didn't stand out very much.

Interlude 5: Hijinks

It began (as far as I know) with Nerisse. Scaring people, that is.

And, well, it's mostly still Nerisse. I thought more members of the family had gotten in on this, but almost all my pictures feature Nerisse as the perpetrator. So there's that.

"Be vewwy quiet. I'm hunting gweat-gwandma Hewena."

And so it begins.

Jalaso, the Mean-Spirited one in the family, got in on the action next. Scaring his mom, of course.

"I am so awesome!"

"You should have seen your face!"

Natasha was the next target. When she was talking to Jaden in her underwear, no less.

"I was vastly underprepared for that!"

Ah, the joy that comes from scaring your great-great grandmother senseless.

"Grandpa thinks he can scare people as good as I can? Well let's see how he likes it."

She got Natasha again, outside this time.

You'd think a woman who's worked with ghosts for over ten years would be used to frightening things by now.

This is a new approach. Sneak up from in front of them.

Really not sure if this is going to work, honey.

And yet...

"OMIGOD I DID NOT SEE YOU THERE WHAT IS GOING ON."

She even managed to sneak up on her daughter-in-law (whom you'll meet officially later).

"Boo!"

"Aw, yeah. Who da best?"

Coming soon: What you've been waiting for: Jaden and all the Savidges. Seriously, all of them. Plus, eventually, Sam's update.

Interlude 6: He's a Heartbreaker

If you thought Ian Savidge (husband of Cailyn, father of Nerisse, and seductee of Natasha) was bad, think again. Meet Jaden Savidge, resident bad boy musician, and favorite of everyone in the Savidge household.

And I do mean everyone.

As you might recall, it started (oddly enough) with Helena, whose first attempt at flirting failed. It all went downhill from there.

Not to be outdone by her daughter, Natasha tried it next. And to no one's surprise, she was successful.

And this is the face he made when Natasha broke it off with him. Honey, you don't want to mixed up with this one, trust me.

Helena tried flirting with him again later, this time in her underwear. No kiss, but the flirting was more successful this time.

Jalaso didn't actually use any flirting interactions, per se, but if this isn't showing off for a goregous guy, I don't know what is.

Next, Jaden started dancing with Cailyn. It's a big deal, since it's Cailyn's go-to thing.

It seemed innocent at first...

...and then it really wasn't.

All of this eventually set Jal off, and kicked in his usually-dormant Mean-Spirited trait.

"Stay away from my grandma! And my mom! And my daughter!"

"What's your problem? They're all hitting on me, too, remember? It takes at least two to tango."

Sometime after Jaden got kicked out, I decided to send Helena to the local club, so she could bite her first victim. And yes, it was generation 6 already and my resident vampire had only ever eaten human food and plasma orange juice.

When she got to the club, look who was already there.

"We meet again."

So, for the heck of it...

...I let Jaden be her first.

"Wow, that was good. Why haven't I been out biting people before this?

"I don't know, but could you do it again? That was hot."

He apparently liked it so much, he called to ask her out. Creepy, dude. Just creepy.

Coming soon: The generation 6 update. Sam's in the middle of raising the gen 7 heir right now, but he'll take some time off to show his life to you.

Generation 6: Sam Savidge
You people are all crazy!

Poor Sam nearly didn't get to finish out his requirements, thanks to a save game error early in his young adulthood. Fortunately, I was able to recover a backup save file (only losing Sam's wife's trip to France, which was repeated) and the Savidges were not lost forever.

Sam's traits: Loves the Heat, Brave, Snob, Good, Green Thumb, Artistic (Degree)

Growing Up
Sam was the older of two children, but he and his sister Jessica didn't spend a lot of time together growing up. Sam mostly kept busy being smothered by all the parental figures in his life.

And he quickly learned how to walk around in his underwear, like everyone else in the family.

Sometime during his child or teen years, Sam rolled the Celebrated Five-Star Chef LTW. Since there was plenty of family vacation time available, I decided to send Sam to college for two weeks, making him the first in the family to actually receive a degree.

Eleanore Mund

Eleanore's traits: Couch Potato, Perfectionist, Computer Whiz, Good, Hot-Headed

Decently attractive, for a werewolf.

Sam went to college to get a boost to his future culinary career. But also, like Jalaso before him, he needed to find a girlfriend. And apparently, while Moonlight Falls is filled with good-looking guys, it's rather lacking for pretty ladies. At least, ones who are also werewolves.

It wasn't easy finding one at university, either. But, finally, Sam stumbled upon Eleanore. She's not the most interesting spouse in the world, but her traits aren't terrible, she looks halfway decent, and she wasn't an elder when Sam met her. (He met quite a few elders at university; most of his dormmates were able to keel over and die.)

She did this when she transformed, at college. Fortunately, the lack of a face cleared up when she moved in with Sam back in Moonlight Falls.

Eleanore joined the sports career upon joining the Savidge family, though she never got very far. It's probably the Couch Potato thing.

When her werewolf daughter was a child, Eleanore spontaneously flirted with someone online, to the point that she developed a romantic interest. Without thinking, I had her immediately send a break-up text, hoping to end that relationship before it started. Except, she broke up with Sam instead. Oops. Helena was able to salvage their relationship to some degree, using her social networking skill. But at that point, Eleanore was really just in the way. She'd fulfilled her duties already, so I kicked her out early.

Top Chef
Sam became the family chef, cooking like crazy every chance he got. For a long time, the Savidges had more food in their fridge than they knew what to do with. Sam even learned the recipes for the foreign foods, thanks to Eleanore's short trips overseas.

Something smells delicious...

Nectar-Maker
Thanks to his Snob trait, Sam also became a nectar-maker. My very first nectar-maker, I might add. It was a new experience for me, as much as for Sam. His top bottles were "Number 1" and "Brilliance."

Die, grapes, die!

I had finally gotten rid of the stupid garden, and I had to start one again. Helena happily obliged, but I was not thrilled with the situation.

Oops. That wasn't supposed to happen.

Just a Little Freaked Out
Sam didn't roll Neurotic or anything like that, but he certainly knew how to fuss over things. Maybe it's the Snob thing; I don't know.

He also inherited the great faces from his grandpa Ian and dad Jaden.

"Why do I have to make nectar all day? It's so much work!"

The puppy-dog face won't help you... much.

"I'm gonna be the best chef in the world!"

"Uh huh, kid. Sure you are."

"Ohmygod, Mom!"

"Take that, sucker!"

And when his wife was about to give birth...

...Sam freaked out, and Eleanore calmly made the bed.

"The baby's coming! The baby's coming!"

"I know, sweetie. Now move, please, I need to make your side of the bed before we go."

Post-Requirements
Whenever I remember to make food, Sam's the one to do it. He hasn't touched his nectar-making machines since his kids were born, but they're still there. The garden, on the other hand, is long gone. Sam spends much of his time getting picked on by one or other of his family members (mostly Nerisse, and sometimes Jal, to no one's surprise).

Sam's section of the family mauseoleum.

Children
Sam and Eleanore's first child was, unfortunately for me, an Imaginary Friend. Poor Alina had almost no time to grow up; I managed to age her to young adult in a little over a Sim week. But it had to be done; she had to make room for her little sister, Irene, the seventh and final heir of the family.

Generation 7 Spares

Alina Savidge: Hates the Outdoors, Neurotic, Dog Lover, Angler, Absent-Minded

Lived the shortest life of any Savidge to date. Ah well. Her traits are terrible, anyway.

Coming Soon: Irene Savidge is still in the middle of her requirements. But soon enough she'll be done and I'll start working on her update. Also, she might eventually produce some nooboos for future Savidge shenanigans. Who knows?

Interlude 7: Another Reminder That This Family Is Insane
But also adorable.

We're getting close to the end now. And before Irene takes the stage, here's a few pictures.

One day, Helena did this, out of the blue, in the middle of the yard...

...and I'm not sure I've ever loved her more.

Natasha, meanwhile, continues with the string of momentary lovers.

Ghostly and otherwise.

This woman will kiss anyone.

Cailyn tries to get her dad to exercise. He doesn't look so thrilled about it.

And one of my favorite pictures...

Natasha, the founder, cradling generation seven heir, Irene.

Coming soon: Generation 7 shows up to round out the challenge. Plus, in all likelihood, an epilogue of some kind, featuring some random Savidge family stats (like exactly how many people Natasha has kissed in her lifetime).

Generation 7: Irene Savidge
She's a rebel.

As the last heir of the family, Irene got some of the leftover skills and wishes, none of which really matched her traits. But, after some hard work, she managed to pull it off.

Irene's traits: Brave, Couch Potato, Genius, Natural Cook, Rebellious (Rebel), Childish

Growing Up
Irene grew up in a house with six parental figures (minus her actual mother, who accidentally dumped Sam, then moved out before Irene's child birthday). Also, the Savidge family is a big house full of nerds. It's little wonder, then, that Irene went a different direction and put all her effort into becoming a certifiable rebel.

Also, by this point, I was about ready to be done with the challenge. Despite the house remodel/downsize in gen 5, the file takes at least 15 or 20 minutes to load. And looking after all the Savidges is a bit tiring after a while. So, as soon as she could, Irene started busily working on her requirements.

Little werewolf trying to hunt... inside.

"Struggling" Artist

Irene decided to focus on artistic pursuits, despite having no traits to help her out. Unfortunately, painting and sculpting were already taken, so she had to do street art, photography, and guitar instead. She even went into an art career; thanks to her rebel influence, she became an art appraiser. She might have fit the title "struggling artist," if not for her family's 9,000,000+ simoleons.

Decorating the family bedroom with graffiti.

Entertaining the family with her guitar skills. It doesn't pay well,  but it keeps them occupied.

At the Toadstool downtown, where Irene made most of her tips.

She seemed to have more fun playing when she was in her werewolf state.

Look how mellow she is by comparison, when in human form.

Partners

Going into Irene's young adult years, I knew I wanted her to eventually produce a couple of nooboos, for possible future Savidge adventures. So I kept an eye out for any potential matches.

The first guy she fell for was Joseph Maggs, an ordinary Sim who loved to watch her play her guitar at the art gallery, or wherever he could find her. After lots of talking and flirting, Irene and Joseph eventually became engaged.

Then disaster struck. One day, while Irene was playing her guitar at the Toadstool, Joseph became incredibly hungry. But, unable to stop watching, he did nothing about it. Suddenly, the Grim Reaper was arriving, taking Irene's poor fiance away forever. Irene moved the gravestone to her home lot, because when have Savidges ever had issues making out with ghosts? But it soon vanished, and even ghost Joseph was no longer an option.

(This was also annoying for me; I lost the 5000-point Marry Joseph wish when he died, and the wishes were the trouble for me this generation.)

Sadly, the only photo I got of Joseph was the day he died. Ah well. He would have made such pretty babies, too.

After Joseph, Irene went with Plan B: get a magic lamp and marry a genie.

Then, a surprise: the genie was a woman. For any other generation, this would have been a problem. But not for Irene. Once she's finished her work, the dynasty will be officially over, and she can have as many mod-possible nooboos as she wants. Also, Jamie's gorgeous, and Irene's nothing if not a rebel.

Jamie's traits: Social Butterfly, Clumsy, Natural Cook, Diva, Lucky

Now we wait to see if Natasha will go for her or not.

I love these two so much. They're no Cailyn and Ian, but they're still adorable.

Apparently, Sam thinks so too. The first time they woohooed, Sam walked in after them and watched. You do realize that's your daughter and her girlfriend, right, Sam?

Post-Requirements
Irene hasn't exactly had much time to herself, since she's the last heir of the dynasty. So far she's mostly been busy raising her nooboos, now that she's finally done running around town playing guitar for tips, painting the sidewalks, and snapping photos of police cars. Now, if she can shake off the rest of the family, maybe she can finally develop those werewolf abilities she's been neglecting.

Out hunting, for real.

Stats
  • Traits: Brave, Couch Potato, Genius, Natural Cook, Rebellious (Rebel), Childish
  • Lifetime Wish: Leader of the Pack
  • Career: Art Appraiser
  • Partner: Jamie Wicks (Genie)
  • Offspring: Marsh (Werewolf), Owen (Werewolf), Toby (Genie), Phaedra (Werewolf), Luke (Genie), Talia (Genie)

  • 6 Unique Skill Challenges: Master Muralist, Precision Sprayer, Architectural Eye, Photog, Always Wanted, Master Guitarist
  • 7 Mausoleum Pieces: Street Art
  • Vacation Days Used: 1

Irene's section of the family mauseoleum.

Children
Once her requirements were complete and the challenge was over and I could turn my mods back on, I let Irene and her wife have a few nooboos of their own. They promptly had a set of triplets, all boys, without having consumed a single apple. Which, looking at the family history, was kind of astounding. Then, just for the heck of it, they had another set of triplets: two girls and a boy.

Jamie, newly popped, carrying hers and Irene's triplet sons.

Altogether, Irene and Jamie had three werewolf and three genie nooboos. All with a mix of skin, hair, and eye colors. So far the oldest boys are children, so there isn't much to say about any of them. But is there potential for a new challenge with one of them? Maybe so...

Generation 8

Marsh Savidge: Brave, Easily Impressed, No Sense of Humor

Owen Savidge: Eccentric, Evil, Virtuoso

Toby Savidge: Grumpy, Genius, Party Animal

Phaedra Savidge: Clumsy, Perceptive

Luke Savidge: Perceptive, Evil

Talia Savidge: Loves the Heat, Excitable

Epilogue

And so, with a few final pictures and a few fun facts, we come to the end of this part of the Savidge saga.

Date of Completion: Week 61, Day 1

Poor Nerisse collapsed from thirst one evening. Word to the wise, keep mermaids away from fireplaces.

Glitch alert: Natasha failed to climb out of the pool before going to the kitchen to eat a meal. As a result, she ended up swimming around the house, and had to ultimately be reset.

The last of Natasha's momentary affairs, caught on camera.

"Why have so many pictures been about me?"

Because we love you, sweetheart. (Also, you're super photogenic.)
