Aw RIP Spanner, you were great. I loved your bald work uniform styling too.  ;)

RIP Spanner, his time was too short. I can't wait to see Merlot's beau, it's so funny that she carries around one particular book.

Poor Spanner.

Merlot really must want to have babies. :)

3rd generation already! This one is fast ... hopefully the Does stay safe.

Thanks, everyone. I don't usually get super-attached to my sims, but Spanner was just so endearing. And Dek, I think you're right. The Nurturing trait has Merlot focused on babies.

One last day at school and Merlot was on the honor roll for 3 days. It was a great birthday present.
Hey, you look awfully put together there, Merlot. It makes me miss Spanner even more.

As an adult, Merlot needed a skill that might actually bring her some opportunities. She played her drums at the park , a lot, hoping to attract some attention.

She saw her boyfriend there one day. It was the first time they had seen each other since growing up. Something had changed. No matter what Merlot said, Armando got mad. How's your day been? Armando is very angry with Merlot. Well, she wasn't going to put up with that.

She decided to go visit her old vampire friend, one of the Van Goulds (Tristan). As Merlot tried to make a love connection...

RIP, Janelle. We'll miss your presence at the family fishing pond.

Merlot really tried flirting, but her heart just wasn't in it. Both times she went to a guy's house, a parent died.

She waited until she felt a little calmer, and headed back to Tristan's house, better prepared this time. It was a big day for Tristan. Not only did he get engaged, but he was also cured of his vampirism.

In fact, it was the most exciting day of his long life.

The newlyweds settled in at the Doe house. Merlot carried on with her drumming, this time at Waylon's Haunt.

Tristan kept busy just waiting for his bride to get one last opportunity.

He started a garden. Okay, he planted a tomato, but it was a perfect tomato. He learned fishing. All in the daylight!

Merlot was asked to earn 500 in tips by the bartender at Waylon's. Her strategy worked!

Merlot: Aw, Tristan, you must be all sore and achy from fishing all day. I have one more thing for you to do. Come to the bedroom with me.

Heir Three

Merlot Doe - Heavy Sleeper, Excitable, Ambitious, Nurturing, Irresistible  LTW - Swimming in Cash

Maxed Career - Master Nectar Craftsman, Nectar Maker 10
Best Friends - Branch Timbley, Leann Nagle
Skill Challenges - Mix Master, Flavorful Feet, Nectar Master
Opportunities - Ear Drumming, Ba-doom-CHING, The Drum Fill, Urban Noise

Current state of the Dynasty Museum

Merlot added 4 bottles of pomegranate-life fruit nectar currently valued at over 600 each, but they seem to gain value rapidly. The upgraded objects are still tucked away in family inventory, safe from the depreciation monster. I'm also putting extra, non-certificate rewards down here out of the way. All world 1 moving requirements are complete at this point. Heir 4 will only need to be responsible for him/herself.

My sincere condolences for the loss of Spanner and Janelle. But...
Woah! I'll be looking forward to learn the value of that nectar when your challenge is over. Promise to tell us?
Great progress, KRae!

Woah, a parent dying just when she's about to do important things like showing us her love interests! I always feel a bit bad for Tristan, mainly because I don't call myself a Twilight fan.

@Tixxis  The nectar's up to 930 each now, and I'll let you know what they're worth at moving time, but they'll have to stay in Moonlight Falls at that point.
@Malley  Tristan has been so easy to live with; His traits are Flirty, Brooding, Vegetarian, Virtuoso, and Computer Whiz.
@Nettlejuice  I'm also not a fan of the Twilight series. I'm not its target audience - too old, too independent minded.

Chimes were heard, yadayadayada.
Merlot: Hey, those yadas were puking and backaches and waddling!
Me: Sorry, but your maternity clothes are really nice.
Merlot: Okay now, go away. Were panicking here.

Tristan absolutely adores his son. *raspberries*

And this is why Heavy Sleeper. The Does were given a violin as a wedding gift. I'm sure he'll play better eventually.

Swizzle Doe - Friendly, Heavy Sleeper   He has his father's eyes with the traditional Doe blond hair.

Swizzle learns his toddler skills quickly thanks to Merlot's Nurturing trait.

Which leaves more time for this.

Two days before Swizzle's next birthday, next to his impressive garden, Tristan becomes and elder.

@Malley  And they grow up so fast. I don't know how I'll ever play a game with 7 days of toddlerhood again.
@Nettlejuice  He was really cute with the doll, but it was all he wanted to play with.
@Playalot  I've given up on cribs. The adults are always putting the little tykes in the cribs when either they need the potty or just aren't tired. Sleepy? Just click on the moodlet and off they go.

Once again, it's time for cake (not that they don't have a fridge full). Another Ambitious child. Are we seeing a pattern here?

Swizzle realized he was becoming too attached to his doll. If he wanted to accomplish anything, he would need to give it up.
Tristan: What a lovely gift! I'll keep it safe until the day I die.

Okay, I didn't know what you wanted to accomplish was hanging out at bars. A little young, don't you think?
Swizzle: What can I say, I enjoy the ambience.

What's up with the cops in Moonlight Falls? They have never once managed to catch a burglar.

Childhood is so fleeting!
What's the matter, Swizzle!
Swizzle: I can't see, my eyebrows are eating my forehead, and this coat is really warm.

Swizzle: I look cool now, like the guys in the giant, overwhelming poster. I'm going to be a great bartender.
Me: You can't actually be a bartender.
Swizzle: I've watched Mad Sims, and mixing drinks seems to be an important skill in business. Maybe I'll try that.

Saturday night at the Doe residence...dress code - swimwear or robe required.

Merlot: What happened to my hair? And this coat is really warm!

Swizzle went stag to prom. He didn't find a girlfriend there, but he did get in two fights, got voted prom king, and saw a three-eyed llama so it wasb't a total loss.

Swizzle met Jami Morrissey at school and invited her over to do homework. It seemed safer for his parents' health than going to her house. (Tristan was maybe 54 at the time).
Swizzle: If a loch ness monster swims 2 miles above water and dives for three minutes, how many apples remain?
Jami: France!

Jami and Swizzle were already best friends, so when he discovered that she was Family Oriented, he made his move.

What is it with wearing coats in summer? Luck is on your side to have found a partner with family orientated trait. Swizzle is looking good with his new hairstyle. If only I could go around in my swimwear at home, lol.

Swizzle: I refuse to allow this hair to be my destiny.

Swizzle graduated on a Saturday and, after signing up for the business career, mixed drinks the rest of the weekend. His first unique creation, The Triple Orange Whatever with Sass.

Grim: Okay, save as and quit, Tristan Doe. You've played your last game of The Humans 3.
Rest in Peace, Tristan age 59.

This maybe explains the Most Likely to Burn Down His Own House award.

Two days after her husband, Merlot Doe, age 52, leaves her son alone. Goodbye, sweetie.

Okay that posted. The adventure continues.

Jami came over for a visit and stayed. Her traits are No Sense of Humor, Family Oriented, Inappropriate, Mooch, and Light Sleeper.

Oh, and did I mention, she's also a witch.

Swizzle worked hard on his mixology. 500 is a lot of drinks. Jami worked every bit as hard on maxing Alchemy and learning to make all the elixirs. They would need to move towns soon. They were the richest family in town (6.8 million) and were drawing far too much attention. Their money and possessions could be taken away, but their knowledge is theirs to keep.

Stop! You can't go to your last day of work like that!

Swizzle: Better? You can't keep me amped up on elixirs working from home all night and expect me not to be a bit addled.
And so, completely clothed, Swizzle met his final requirement.

Week 20 Day 6,  Swizzle and Jami packed up the family plot, sold all their belongings, and move to Riverview. They moved to a small house with a good sized yard. Out of 6.8 million, they got to keep 4,000. Swizzle had already accumulated 143,000 lifetime happiness points and had more than 90,000 unspent. First thing, he got a dust old lamp and wished for fortune. While Swizzle went to hold some business meetings and Jami left to buy supplies at the elixir shop, the house was remodeled. They kept it simple, but got everything they needed to make life more comfortable.

When Jami arrived back home, she was greeted by some neighbors who told her about Riverview. Mostly about the excellent fishing.

Jami needed to work up her magic skill and what better way than casting good luck charms on your new neighbors.

Time to magically upgrade all their new possessions to unbreakable. First the computer, then the stereo. You'd think she'd fix the stove and shower first, but Jami had her own set of priorities.

Swizzle wanted to learn alchemy. He could help build up their store of vials of bliss. After learning the basics, he was given some basic ingredients. Jami used them to start an herb and mushroom garden.

Swizzle went to work the next day and met a few of his co-workers. (Nice work uniform, by the way) When he got home, he ask Jami to finally marry him. She, of course, agreed.

They had a little private celebration, and when chimes were heard, decided to get married right away. And so ended their second day in Riverview.

Swizzle: Aw, how's my little lump of Doe?

In no time they had a little son to snuggle. Swizzle had a little mishap at the alchemy station.
Jami: I made some cure elixirs. Just use one before you emotionally scar him for life.

Braise Doe  - Heavy Sleeper, Excitable

Braise learned all his toddler traits.
Jami: I like cooking, but all I've made is country bread. Maybe you can do more.
Braise: Let's talk about it when we're not next to a fuming potty.

Aunt Bernice has struck once again. Braise played with his doll until exhaustion set in.

Look next to the fireplace. We've had an unfortunate spawning of beetles here and also just inside the front door.
