Purchasing additional lot for current household
« on: June 22, 2015, 06:01:15 PM »
Hi there,

I'm trying to buy the vacant lot next to my house for my current household. No idea how that works in Sims4. Halp pls? :3

What I want basically is to merge the current lot and the vacant one next to it into one big lot, same property. Is that even possible?

As this seems to me to be a question asking for help with the game rather than a casual discussion, I'm going to move it to miscellaneous help.

Do you have the Get to Work expansion?  If so, you can use the phone to purchase it as a retail lot.  If not, you can't buy it.

Oh no, I only have the retreat expansion so far :<

But if I purchase "Get to work" will I be able to merge the two lots into the same property? :o

I'm more than 99% sure you can't merge two lots like this.  If you can, I don't know how.

ClayMask is right, there is no way to merge two lots together.

You could move your current house to a bigger lot.  Go into build mode and save the lot to your library (one of the buttons in the top middle panel).  Once saved, move your family to a bigger lot - doesn't matter if there's a house there or not.  After you move, go into build mode and then click on the Gallery/Library button (top right).  Find the lot in your library and choose to place it.  Presto, your family is now moved along with their home.

Ohhhh that's great! I didn't realize I could move to a bigger lot while keeping everything I've already struggled to build the same. That's very helpful! Thank you very much! :)
