And have you noticed that in TS4 the townies are less pudding faced than they were in TS3? It seems as if EA really amped up the randomisation this time around! I'm not really looking forward to the Dance and DJ skills, but only because I'm an evil Watcher who often doesn't let her sims enjoy free-time for such activities :-)

The sims do seem much more unique and the genetics carry over really well through the generations. However the townies can sometimes get stuck in a loop as in the same body type and family unit can populate your worlds over and over again! My games often get stuck with a single mum, teen and random looking kid. It's fine in casual games as I just delete them but it can be a pain in challenges etc having to look at near clones all the time.

That's why it will be so good to have some new townies. And a new world...  :)

@Indira there seems to be some really great build mode items coming out now as some more screenshots are getting released. I'm getting quite excited for the modern items as that's my favourite style to build in.

@grimsoul, looking forward to seeing what you build with all the new items too.  :)

@Cat_Mom the more I read about the new group system the more I'm liking it. Apparently everyone is getting the updated group system with the Dec patch but of course clubs etc can only be made if you have GT.

@Caterina I'm with you on the dancing... can't wait for that.

@FrancescaFiori correct me if I'm wrong but I think all the sims in the trailers are Windenburg locals! Cool, be fun to play with the DJ dude.

@Nancy01905 looks like there are quite a lot of new clothes, hair etc. I hope there is a lot of new clothes for guys too, my fav to play with.  :)

I'm looking forward to everything, too!

And I'm really glad that being able to get everyone in a group to do something will come in a patch. Those gold medal parties for the Immortal Dynasty should be a lot easier if you don't have to make 3 sims stop what they're doing and make them play a game or eat something, etc.

I just wish I could afford it :-( but I love that I will get to experience it via all your amazing stories! It's R400 here which sounds just as bad as it actually is lol (I priced it on the weekend and almost dropped in shock, I had thought it was only R300! Which still isn't all that grand but a dratted sight better than 100 bucks more lol)

Wow Magpie, that's crazy expensive and I thought it was pricey here!! Least the December patch is bringing some good stuff that will make your game feel fresh.  :)

@Joria, I'm starting to really look forward to it too now that more info is coming out. Looking like the island with the expensive houses on might be the first place I move some sims into. *Curtesy of the bank of motherlode*

@MarianT it's going to be interesting to see how the group system changes game play for sure.

YT? I've played Sims since Sims 2 came out with Freetime and the Sims in this iteration are more descended from the Sims 2 than the Sims 3. It's okay as Cassandra Goth is looking VERY sexy. ;)

Also, finally managed to buy $50 in Sims Cash and found that Get to Work was on sale so now I'm downloading that, Spa Day and Outdoor Retreat - can't wait to see how long I can play Sims 4 without a hideous bug destroying everything! XD

Oops, this is Get TOGETHER. Well, I think I have to agree with the nay-sayers - I don't mind the fact that they have an expansion which focuses on the party aspect; they had club/party expansion with Nightlife and Late Night, but I am seriously upset that Sims 4 has yet to embrace Supernatural creatures. In fact, I don't think they have a life state with this new expansion! BOO! :(
I play The Sims 4 for fun, so I don't care if I never end up being interviewed for the Dynasty Hall of Fame; people who play for keeps burn out too easily and don't enjoy playing the games, so I am going to not sweat the details.

I don't think this expansion so much focuses on a party aspect, although that is part of it, but more on making social clubs with your sims. To be honest since completing my dynasty I haven't thrown a single party, lol not even to try out the new stuff in Spooky Day (or whatever that pack was called) so I probably won't be using the party function with this pack either, apart from the occasional dance party I guess, as I want to explore the dance/DJing side of it all. I'm more interested in the new cafes and being able to hit the swimming pool etc with my sims than throwing parties. I think there is quite a difference between hosting a party and hanging at a place with a group of friends, just this kind of gets a bit blurred when we think about the sims.

In fact, in many ways this expansion pack gives simmers like me, who hate partying, another way to have our sims socialise with their friends without having to throw parties all the time. I'd much rather have my sim in a swimming club or a gym/fitness club and spend time doing that than throw a Black and White party! Least now my sims will be able to build their fitness skill, socialize, earn club points for club rewards, work on their fitness aspiration etc etc all at once instead of having to stand around doing random party goals.

@Playalot and that is exactly why I'm bummed that it costs so much here! I don't play parties, except maybe date if they throw a wish for it or if its aspiration required. So having a way for my Sims to socialise where I don't necessarily have to worry about all those blasted goals, would be lovely. Yeah, I'm competitive so telling me to just ignore the goals really wouldn't work lol

It is crazy expensive here, because the Rand is really weak against the Dollar and Pound! You should see what a tank of gas costs! Well, petrol as we call it here lol

I think the option to customise groups so freely, is really the major draw card for me though (although new town and townies is good too) maybe I can convince a Fairy Godmother to buy it for me for Christmas lol

@Magpie2012, Do you get the sales there? I think Get to Work is on sale now at a much cheaper price, and I'm sure that Get Together will be in some of the sales later on. But maybe a fairy godmother will come through for you earlier than that!

I was really lucky when it came to GTW it was donated to me by the lovely @justproud2b for being a loyal follower of his blog and Twitter. And I won spa day from Simsonline. And my cousin gave me the base game as a thank you for tutoring him through Matric/Grade 12 math and physics. So all I've really paid for was outdoor retreat, luxury party and perfect patio. My biggest problem when it comes to affordability is that 99.9% of my salary goes to pay the debts my parents accrued by putting me through varsity to get my degree. And I am in a distinctly minimum wage job. The only reason I could afford the others was because my folks let me have my first salary to spoil myself because they knew I would soon be tied down like a real grownup...

The sales do come down here but for the most part you only score about 50 bucks. Although I've been loving the on-the-house specials Origin gives lol

Think I'll be too old when GT goes on sale that way ;-)

But enough of my sob story... I think another thing I'm looking forward to is the different scenarios our wonderful authors are going to be able to come up with! Just like when GTW came out!

Well, going by the last few packs @Magpie2012  it won't be long before GT goes on sale. A pain to wait but totally the best option in the face of prices like those! (We say petrol here too)

@Playalot I'm hoping so! Either that or I'll whinge and whine to all my friends and family until someone takes pity on me lol

I read somewhere (a SimGuru tweet?) that the population threshold is being raised. Hopefully, it's enough to greatly reduce culling.

I'm looking forward to the club feature. It seems like it will make it easier to find mates and make friends since you can exclude or include specific traits. As with most XP's, I'm also looking forward to new content. I am trying to stay mostly CC free and having more buy and build mode stuff is a big plus.

I'm not particularly drawn to Windenburg itself because the Tudor style isn't really my thing, but I am looking forward to having new Sims around.
