I was in elementary school...and that was the year MTV launched.
You mean MTV hasn't always been around??
Oh wow!  I hope that's a joke.
Nah, where could you get such a thing from!? Everybody knows that MTV has been around for as long as such things as fire and the number zero, so let's say 1985-ish?

Happy birthday and congratulations!  I still remember when I got my learner's permit back in 1975...

Swede, didn't you say you're 17 in another post?  Back in the olden golden days of the 1970s, it was 15 to get a permit and 16 to get your actual license.

Hi there from GA, USA.
I've lurked here a bit since around Christmas when I finally got Sims 3.  I love the Sims and played all the Sims 1 to pieces.  Found this site through a google search for Sims 3 guide- best one was here.  :)

Pam, are you sure that's true for Sweden? I am 17 (soon 18), but I'm living in Sweden now and have always lived in Sweden, so the learner's permit here is for 16-year olds (after a compulsory, useless 4-hour lesson on safety) and 18 for a driver's license! I have absolutely no clue whatsoever of any rules concerning the US.

Now for another subject: Welcome Kimmy! Glad you've found your way here!

Ok, my introduction is a few days left but I just found the thread...

I started playing the original The Sims when we got our first computer in our family about a decade ago. I still have a copy of the original game somewhere and a few of it's expansion packs. I played The Sims 2 as well and many of it's expansion packs as well.
The third sure looks like the best one so far and I will keep playing this one for quite some time.

I found this forum and guide when searching for information about various things that I need more info on to play a bit better.

I am 23, soon to be 24 and I live in Sweden.

Ok, just read the past 4 pages of this thread, so this is where all the fun happens?? lol

I'm 32 by the way.  Another "somewhat old timer" I guess.  It's kind of amazing with all the 10 year anniversary stuff that EA is putting out lately, because I remember being in college and playing The Sims at my boyfriend's house.  His brother and I would both play within the same neighborhoods but with different lots.  And one time he PURPOSEFULLY convinced the wife in my family to move in with his family!!!  HE STOLE MY WOMAN!!!   :o

Hello everybody! I have been playing Sims 3 for about two weeks now. I got it for my 22nd birthday. I played the first Sims game for a short time, then I moved on to Sims 2. I played Sims 2 off and on for years and years. I had most of the expansion packs. I have to say Sims 3 is by far the best Sims game I have ever played! It is awesome! I also want to say I love Carl's site! It is so helpful! So is this Forum! I think it is so cool to have a place where people can come together and talk about a common love for The Sims 3!
