A Townie Dynasty with Leeway: Jungle Dawg (04/02)
« Reply #270 on: April 02, 2018, 04:07:10 PM »

6.41: Jungle Dawg

Previously:
*Iconica Lee's hubby Ralph completes both the Space Rocks and Garden collections;
*The Lees vacation at Granite Falls, inviting Jet and his twin Lone while leaving the Mandirs at home;
*Iconica gathers insects and brews herbal remedies, while everyone else does whatever;
*Jet and Lone pass away on the last day of the vacation;
*Iconica makes a final spurt to trigger the last free day which is now in progress.

Week 28/Wednesday

Remember me? I'm Bull Lee, the Gen6 Lee heir.
My twin Deft Lee and I aged up to teenagers just now!
And as soon as this free day ends tomorrow, I become the controlled sim.
Imagine that!
Well yes, I'm an insane vegetarian but, otherwise, my personality is full of win!

Bull: For now, I'm all about painting the household's portraits!
I'm going to wait until I'm at least Painting 6, though, so I don't end up with $200 paintings.
With Mama mentoring, it won't take long!

We're not exercising much creativity in our choice of aspirations.
We like the easy ones because we can buy reward traits.
Anyway, brother Deft is already Logic 6, so he might as well switch to Nerd Brain next!

Meanwhile, Papa's downstairs cloning herbal remedies for my future trip.
Charity Bjergsen doesn't know it yet, but she's my future wife, hehe.

Since she lives alone, I can move in with Deft, Scamp, and two others.
I briefly consider Auntie Unru but Mama would be a better choice. Still deciding…

Thursday

Scamp: I've been extremely busy these days!
On occasion, I enjoy sitting and expressing my musical preferences. *sings: We are bulletproof! Hah! Wassuuuuup?
(You're welcome, FrancescaFiori. Lol!)
But most of the time, I'm running around getting in shape for the upcoming trip.

Check out my little campfire pot and genuine alpaca-wool saddle blanket yo!

Bull: As for Brooks and Adelynn Mandir, they've taken today off.
I've suggested that they enjoy their vacation day fishing….waaaaaay over there.
In fact, they're at the very opposite end of our neighborhood, behind the Rio Verde home.

Not to be mean, but…
I can't check whether Gent is up for adoption without a vacancy in the house.

Speaking of Rio Verde, a new household moved into that house recently.
Nobody in our household is acquainted with the Bello family.
But I'll certainly be introducing myself to them when I have the time.
I wonder how old that guy is and what his traits are…

That house is certainly huge!
I google its address online to learn that it has five bedrooms and four bathrooms!
A future Lee heir could certainly live comfortably in that house!
And it has easy street access, unlike the Villareal Estate in Windenburg.

When I go to reposition my easel, I find I'm blocked from entering Build mode.
Apparently, someone is dying in our neighborhood.
Using my eagle vision, I scan Skyward Palms to find the Grim Reaper with the Mandirs.

Grim: What is with that Iconica Lee and her double deaths?
I guess I shouldn't complain. They do save me considerable travel time.

Rest in peace, Brooks and Adelynn Mandir.
Your combined points from career promotions (9) were double that of Unru Lee (4).
And thanks, Brooks, for playing with Scamp.

Friday

Bull: Do you think the Deluxe All-Season Easel really makes such a difference?
I've painted all but two portraits, no repainting, and they're averaging $600.
Of course, the value of my collection doesn't mean I'm a failure as an heir.
Still, it galls me that Mama's portraits averaged $3,750 apiece!
Eh, I'm not repainting any of the portraits yet. I got things to do!

That photo of me? Mama took it during our last free day.

My first day of high school!
I'm so tempted to take today off, but I'll save my vacation days until next week.
Then, just as I'm leaving, I remember!
Darn, I forgot to phone the ASPCA last night to check if Gent's there!

What did I tell you in Granite Falls, Scamp? You and me, buddy! You and me!
Don't kiss my neck out here, Scamp! The neighbors might be watching.

After I finish my portraits, I phone the ASPCA.
No sign of Gent! I haven't given up yet!

By the way, I've added Mario Bello to my club temporarily.
He's a young adult who's a neat bro and, yes! Insane like me!
Looks like I'll need to get my Vampire Lore on, sooner rather than later. We haz plans!

Bull: What now, Scamp? I thought for sure we'd find Gent here at the docks!
Scamp: Let's go take a quick look over by Pupperstone Park.

Bull: Nope, he's not around Pupperstone, either. Do you think Gent's roughing it somewhere?
Or do you think he vanished when Grandpa Jet and Uncle Lone passed away?

Saturday

Bull: Well, no Gent anywhere. Can we drop by the Lee Museum?
I want to drop off my portraits so I won't be tempted to redo any of them.

Scamp: Don't need no mind-reader to know that poor Bull is gutted!
He claimed the Archaeology Scholar aspiration over a week ago.
But our watcher thoughtlessly explored the temple first with another sim.
Blasphemy!

Deft: What's wrong, Scamp? Why the whimpering?
I thought you'd be glad to come here to Selvadorada!

Scamp: Why are Bull and Ralph just staring at that statue!
I'm  the Jungle Dawg, bro! Do I look like the Marketplace Dawg to you?

Scamp: We return to our villa to welcome Iconica and Unru to Selvadorada, then we all hit the sack.

The next day, Bull's hard at work as he digs for, uncovers, and authenticates artifacts.
Meanwhile, Deft and I perfect a new move for our rumbasim routine.

Jungle Dawg on the move!

Week 29/Sunday

Scamp: Poor Bull. His high Painting skill doesn't really help with jungle survival.
He can tear through those vine-covered arches, though, thanks to his Gardening experience.

Bull tries examining some old egg with his zero Rocket Science skill.
It was hard not laugh while he auto-extinguishes himself using Waterfall in a Bottle.

Hey, Bull! Time to give your brother Deft another Need Fixer!
And I could use another Big Treat, too.

Scamp: Bull's luck remains dismal as we continue exploring the temple.
He's attacked by Fire Flies, keeps activating the wrong triggers, and even manages to get poisoned.
He'll need to buy an antidote at the marketplace later, I guess.

Monday

Scamp: Early this morning, Bull takes a vacation day but sends Unru and Deft home.
Iconica and Ralph enjoy a well-deserved vacation at our rental villa, just the two of them.

By this time, I'm pretty tired of being cooped up inside the temple.
After all, I'm no Temple Dawg! I'm the … (sing it with me) Jungle Dawg! Right!

Scamp: Naturally, Bull makes a few wrong choices before opening the final archway.
He just drank a moodlet server but still feels grimy. Must be the poison.
Then, he clears the final arch! Yay!

You'll notice I'm not in this shot.
There's no advantage whatsoever in sticking close to Bull while he explores! That boy is bad luck!

And finally, we've cleared this entire temple!
Can you spot me waiting loyally waaaaaay back in the other room?

When Bull and I travel back to the marketplace, he's no longer poisoned!
Has Maria de Cosecha betowed some blessing on him?
Too tired to really care, tbh, the five of us travel back to the comfort and familiarity of home!

Coming next: Bull ages up to a young adult in 8 more days!

*belts* We just sing it like Click Click BANG BANG . . .We just sing it like . . . oh, wait. Chapter? Right! Chapter! (Thank you very much for the interlude. And Scamp looks mighty stylin' in his new duds!)
An insane vegetarian, huh? That's a pretty adorable set of traits, Bull. Tough luck in the temple, though! Yikes! I'm glad he's recovered from his poisoning, and I'm especially glad he's got his faithful Jungle Dawg to watch over him. Love that dramatic shot of him scampering across the rope bridge!
Such a bummer about Gent's disappearance. I suppose he's hanging out on that big countertop in the sky, refusing to jump down. Farewell, dear friend! You were the most dapper of cats!

I am really glad Scamp is watching out for Bull. An insane sim in a temple with alot of traps sounds so dangerous.
The pictures you take and paint portraits off. How do you get them to be so big and turned to the vertical?

@LenaLJ
I wish to answer your question quickly in case you're using photos for one of your challenges.
I'm using one of the Buy Mode cameras to take photos but I think the selfie camera works, too.
At the bottom left (Size), there are three rectangles you can click to choose the photo size.
Between those "Size" rectangles and the center "camera" icon, there's a circle with two arrows (Orientation).
Click this circle icon to switch between Portrait (vertical) or Landscape (horizontal).

Sweet of you @oshizu
Yes I use it in the Petal legacy, but just for pictures so there it was no problem. But was getting annoyed with that I could not figure it out in my Life State Dynasty.

And now i feel abit dump that I had overlooked that icon

Jungle Dawg FTW! Love, love, love this update. It makes me happy when you do a goofy update.

Too bad about Gent, though. :(

@Shewolf13
Awwww, I'm so happy that you enjoyed the Jungle Dawg! I really wracked my brains to think of a new way to do the Archaeology Scholar aspiration, especially since my Sharebear heir just did it. :D

@wa-wa-world
Thanks for the suggestion for finding Gent. Looking in Manage Households was the first thing I tried after Gent's owners passed away. Due to the challenge rules, I wasn't allowed to move Gent to a different household beforehand.
Yes, Bull's hair is especially cool, just like him, hehe.

@FrancescaFiori
Oh yeah, jungle/temple exploration with a highly skilled sim versus with a mostly unskilled sim is like night and day. But Bull didn't really have other options.
I discovered later that Bull didn't miraculously recover from poisoning. He'd been hit by a poison dart after one of his wrong trigger choices and dart poisoning only last 8 hours, lol. I was all frantic thinking he needed to get to the marketplace or die!
Of course now I feel awful about having moved Gent back to Jet's place but Gent was so glitched that he wasn't playable. :(

@LenaLJ
Poor Bull! Almost everything that could possibly go wrong in the jungle and temple went wrong. And obviously I'm to blame for activating the wrong triggers. The traps were so much easier with Benicio Sharebear and his maxed Logic/Fitness!

@reggikko
I'm glad that Jungle Dawg and I could make you smile. I'm pretty sure goofy is what I do best. ;-)

I'm very sad that nobody liked my Magritte reference.  *weeps copiously
For your reference, here's the original.

Haha, yeah, I know. It's silly. *cheesy grin

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway: Fresh Heir of Bel Prince
« Reply #279 on: April 03, 2018, 04:08:25 PM »

6.42: Fresh Heir of Bel Prince

Week 29/Tuesday

Bull: As Deft and I leave for school, life seems so ordinary once again.
My young adult birthday's next Wednesday. It can't come soon enough.
Well, except that I've still got a gazillion preparations left before moving out!

It seems like only yesterday that I was frantically trying to cure myself of poison in a forbidden temple deep in a tropical jungle!
Scamp: That WAS yesterday, you dingus!

Wednesday

My museum collection lacks six items now so I'm thinking ahead to moving out.
Specifically, I'm planning for my first free day after moving out.
I'm having Mama mentor me while I write my Archaeology skill book.
Then, once I've moved, I can complete my aspiration asap!

Thursday

I go looking for Mama to ask if she would mentor me in Handiness for a few hours.
When I find her napping on the sofa, I suddenly remember that she's Lazy!
From all her hustling to bring on our free days, I had completely forgotten!

Saturday

Unbelievably, I'm still working on my museum collection, which is 70% done now.

You see, in my eagerness to authenticate artifacts, I authenticated a few discovered by Deft (in the back row).
My museum collection needs to consist solely of items I've discovered myself!
Surely, I'll be done in another day or so?

Week 30/Sunday

Bull: Not all butlers are created equal, it seems.
If I weren't moving out in a few days, I would fire that lazy so-and-so.

Even after downsizing our garden, I have to practically beg our butler to tend it.

Khaled the butler: You rang, young master?
Bull: Yes. Sorry to drag you away from your video game, but would you mind terribly watering the plants?
You are unlucky. Tetsu the Sharebear butler looks after a much bigger garden without ever needing to be asked.

Monday

It's close to 1 am when I finally complete my collection. Off to the museum!
My museum contributions tally $15,148.
$7,303 for nine portraits (because Papa Ralph moved in after Medhi Mandir's death).
And $7,845 for 10 genuine archaeological artifacts.

And yes, I could have redone some of the portraits and I still have some uncovered artifacts at home.
I'm running out of time. And I have no more vacation days.

Caleb: A little late for a social call, don't you think?
Bull: You don't know me but my grandfather, Jet Lee, told me I could trust you.
My name's Bull Lee and I'm the current heir of the Lee Dynasty.
Caleb: Ah yes, Jet! I hear he passed away recently. I'm sorry for your loss, Bull.
And what can I do for you this fine night?
Bull: *explains the favor he needs from Caleb

We then remembered that their age difference would prevent Caleb from turning him.
Then, what do you know? Bull sees the "Ask to turn" social pop up!

Caleb: So you want me to turn you, even though you have no intention of remaining a vampire? Hmmmm?
Bull: Yes, sir. It would really help me help our dynasty, if you would turn me.
Caleb: And you don't mind that, even if you're cured, I remain your master?

Bull: I'm all yours. Erm…. *stifles a moan

Caleb: You Lees have always had the most divine blood!
Now be off with you, boi! Come back and see me when you're older.
Maybe there's something more that I can teach you…

Scamp aged up to an elder this afternoon while I was at school.
When I return home, I give him one of Mama's Age-Down Treats right away.
Scamp will be young again in no time! *makes note to self: Learn Veterinarian skill

I'm forced to retreat to the privacy of my room to study Vampire Lore.
Before school this morning, I tried reading in the study nook near the back door.
Whenever I paused between "reads," however, the worthless butler snatched my book to put it away.
He couldn't be more annoying if he tried!

Bull: Mama goes out to congratulate Auntie Unru on maxing the Scientist career.
I've made up my mind now about my future household.
I'll be taking Deft, Scamp, Mama, and Auntie Unru with me.

Sadly, I'll need to leave Papa behind but I'll add him to my club so he'll practically live with us.

Tuesday

I max Vampire Lore very early this morning.
No doubt I'll be transforming roughly 24 hours from now.

During the last few hours at school, I start feeling very uncomfortable.
What a surprise to transform the instant I get back home!
It's only been about 36 hours since Caleb bit me.

And why am I a redhead wearing guyliner with purple bellbottoms?
Oh well, the sooner I transform, the sooner I can cure myself, right?

Ready to go visit my future bride, I mix myself a Sunlight Reversal Cocktail.
But on my way, I notice that Charity Bjergsen is now the only resident of Windenburg!
I make a U-turn and instead pay a visit to our simverse's newest resident.

His name is Ramiro Mendez, a young adult who's active, hotheaded, and unflirty.
My future daughter shall be forever grateful to me for finding Mr. Hot-and-Mysterious first!
In fact… *rubs chin thoughtfully

After welcoming him like the well-mannered, responsible sim that I am, I go to Charity's.

I have to "make drinks for everyone" twice before Charity comes to the bar for her Vampire Cure.
But she's cured and should be a Day 1 Adult.
Did I mention that she's a perfectionist dog-lover who loves the outdoors?

Wednesday

While stargazing with my new friend Charity, I get my birthday notice!
Deft and I always celebrate our birthdays together, so I head home, taking Charity with me.

Besides being an insane vegetarian, I'm now also evil.
What did I tell you? My personality is so full of win!

My neighborly friend Mario readily accepts my offer to turn him, bless his heart!
Just a few more things to do before I can move.

I turn two more sims before finally mixing vampire cures for Evan Hayashi and I.
You may remember Dr. Evan Hayashi who lives in Ye Olde Salt House.
He's an attractive guy but he's too closely related to Charity and Kari Alonzo.

Also, I don't think Scamp would be happy living in the Spice Market.

I'm back home now, selling off inventories and furnishings in preparation to move out.
What else is there to say? Well, we're married and we're expecting. Cool, right?
I can't wait to share my new life and new home with you next time!

Heehee. Love your title. I'm so sorry I forgot to comment on your Magritte reference last time. I thought it was genius! Just not as genius as Scamp's BTS garb, so I got distracted. :)
I do love Bull's personality. So full of win! I can't wait to see what he gets up to, especially with his sweet-as-pie new spouse!
Only a back view of Mr. Hot and Mysterious? What nonsense is this? I can't place his house, even after leering creepily through the window to try and figure out the neighborhood. i guess I'll just have to hang on to my suspense until the next generation is ready for the spouse hunt! So glad that generation is already on the way! Woohoo!

Bull is well prepared for an insane sim, most be the good watcher he has, or is it Scamp that secures he does everything right?
Cant wait to see next generation toddler cuteness.

You know I want to do one of these dynasties too each time i read one of your chapters, but I dont think I can manage more stories + tournament of my own right now.
