Preface 1: There once lived....

There once lived a good witch.

Her only want was to help others but, first she would be helped by another.

The woman gave the kind witch room and board. In return she would help out around the house and assist in the care of her young child. The witch proved to be doting and worthy.

They'd easily fallen into a routine. The woman, a mother, named Olive would go to work and finish her daily tasks. Whilst the witch and child would stay home and enjoy the day.

In her free time the witch would go around town spreading joy. She loved to sing and gift enchantments of protection.

When sun down would come she'd go explore the city. One day she heard a song that led her to the cemetery. The song was so similar to her own.

Preface 2: There once was....

The singing ceased when the stone door slowly opened. The witch approached the door inside and knocked.

Out came the reaper, tall and ghastly. However, the witch was unafraid.

 She complimented him on his song and began humming it. Taken by her charm the reaper started to hum back. He was pleased with her.

The witch made a friend in the reaper. Her evenings were spent with him. The two had grown close.

Her new affections hadn't gone unnoticed.

One day Olive followed the witch.

A wave of intense anger closely followed by giddiness swept over Olive. She'd found the witch's secret but the witch hadn't found out hers.

She went home and found the book. The book that would solve her problems.

The days following the discovery Olive was just as kind and courteous as usual.

Then she went to visit the reaper herself. She greeted him with a kiss. This displeased him.

The two argued back and forth. He told her he was in love with another. She just wanted to hear him say it. That was the reaper's grave mistake and the witch's last chance. Olive turned and left. She returned home before anyone in the house had awakened.

The very next evening the witch was finishing her chores when an apparition met her at the bottom of the stairs with a warning to heed. It was the widow of Olive's coming to warn her.

The witch assured him that she wasn't afraid of the reaper, she loved him. He was not there to warn against the reaper but, against Olive. He wanted her to heed the warning for herself and for her unborn child. The witch was taken aback. How could he have known about the baby, no one knew.

Preface 3: Never more....

In the days to come the witch went to the outskirts of the town. She sang one final enchantment of protection for the town.

She went to her love and told him of their child. He was in bliss at the thought of raising this baby with the witch. It would be the family that he'd never been able to have.

Olive was very helpful with her pregnancy. The witch couldn't believe what the ghost had told her. Not this woman, not Olive.

They went on long walks to help with the pregnancy. On one these walks the witch went into labor. Olive helped her back home where she gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

A couple days later Olive's son had his birthday.

Olive left the witch a plate of food to eat later that evening as she'd been exhausted from the new baby.

The food made her dizzy first, then drowsy, finally she went to find Olive. Olive appeared behind her with the biggest and coldest smile on her face. The ghost had been right. Olive could not be trusted.

Olive had some loose ends to tie up. First, the baby.

Second, the witch.

Lastly, leaving town.

When she returned home she got her son dressed and they pack up their things into their car.

Olive told him they were going on an adventure that would lead to a better life. He was excited.

                                                                             ```````````````````````````````
She won't tell me what that song is that she sings with so much sadness everyday and every night. She doesn't tell me what happened to her daughter. I don't think she knows. She doesn't tell me where that evil woman went, again she probably doesn't know. Maybe deep down she doesn't want to think about it and have her heart broken. It's been many years for her since she's been out of this place.
I feel bad in thinking that she's lucky. She lost her love and her child, but she was free. Something that we will never get to say.
 We're the fillers that wait to be chosen and given a chance. All we have is hope and persistence.
Sometimes I wonder for her. I make believe that her daughter and I would've been friends on the outside. Her daughter became the most powerful witch and she found a way to free all of my friends. I like to think she made it, she's lucky too.
But then it's time for slots to be filled again and I have to wait my turn. My chance to get lucky.
Chapter 1: When the Song fades....
Voice 1: So what will be the child's fate?
Voice 2: We must take special precaution with this child. It is his child.
Voice 3: I trust him to raise to her.
Voice 2: You know we cannot allow that. He knows that. So we must put her in the best and safest possible hands. Give her a shot at normalcy.
Voice 1:  Well what about Ms. Loa in Strangetown? She could teach the child so much.
Voice 2: Like how to be a thorn in our sides in the future. That woman is crazy.
Voice 3: We need someone who is a little crazy and a place that doesn't bat an eye at weird. My vote goes for Ms. Loa as well. Until she proves that she's incapable, we should give her a chance.
Voice 2:  Alright, then with the mambo she goes.
Voice 1: This child will need all the luck in the world.
The little girl grew up in the care of Mambo Loa in Strangetown. She was loved and cherished by the Loa. She grew up hearing strange music that no one else around her could hear. When she got old enough to leave Strangetown she left and followed the sound of the music until she couldn't hear it anymore.
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

Dear Mama Mambo,

I woke up in a town unbeknownst to me. I'm all alone right now but I can no longer hear the music. I'm nervous and excited about this new place and am curious to find out why the music in my head stopped me here. I know this letter is short but I will write you again soon.

Love, Aura.
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Ugh, my back is killing me. Hopefully my days of sleeping on the ground are coming to an end.
I turn around and see a boring town behind me...err maybe "boring" isn't the correct word I should use, considering where I grew up. It just looks "ordinary".
How hard should it be to make a living and live lavishly in this town, especially with my abilities?
I made my way down to the central park. It was a lovely sight to see. Although there were a couple things that concerned me upon arrival.
The first was a balding man that attempted to court me. The balding man squeaked out, " the weather is so beautiful out today, just like you. Say um, well, I know we don't know each other but would you maybe like to...".
"Yes the weather is fantastic", I cut in. "No, I would not like to drag out this moment any longer strange balding man". Shocked by my blunt response he rushed out of the park with a face so flushed. Sweet man but he buckled too easily.
The second thing to bother me was the commotion across the street. The raucous grew louder and louder drowning out the calm of the park. There was a young red haired man observing the whole situation from the park. Curious, I walked over and asked, "what's going on over there?"
He turned and with a slight flinch looking me up and down, a response I've been receiving lately, he answered, " they're boycotting the influx of super naturals coming into town."
"What do they have against super naturals?", I asked trying to mask my defensive tone.
"The newspaper has been reporting sensational stories about super natural beings coming to the town wreaking havoc", he replied.
"Well is it true, that you have scary super natural beings in your town?", I asked.
"None that I've ever seen". He looked around cautiously, "between you and I, I work for the newspaper in this town. This is just a last ditch effort to get Vita Alto elected as mayor. She strikes fear in the townspeople just so that she and her husband can use their money to come up with hair-brained 'solutions' to make them look like heroes ". Taken aback I asked, "Well why aren't you doing anything to stop the slander? Witches and other super naturals are not all scary creatures who want to ruin the lives of normal sims ".
My blood started boiling and my face was a reflection. In that moment he tried to calm me down. He gave me the address to an alchemy store noting that that was a huge source of tension for the town at the moment. I snatched the paper from his hands and stormed out off the park. Upon calming down and looking at the paper I became frustrated all over again. I don't know this town and so this little piece of paper was useless.... Maybe the living that I'd want would not be so easily achieved in this 'boring' little town after all.
Chapter 2: How will I make a Living?
I managed to make my way down the alchemy store only to be greeted by a scowling man behind the register.
"Hello", I said as I approached the counter. He just scratched his head in confusion. "So I hear your store has been targeted lately for supporting the mystics but I'm here to let you know that I believe what you stand for is fantastic."
"What're you talking about mystics"?
"You're selling elixirs and other mystic artifacts like those", pointing at the jar on the counter.
"Oh" he said letting out a haughty laugh. "No, no, no, we sell props."
"Props"?
"Yup, those wands behind me are props from an upcoming movie about a young trio of wizards and witches who unravel school secrets and trouble follows. Pretty interesting concept actually, one of the kids has a scar and everything, for character development purposes. You can see it in theatres at the end of summer."
"But, the angry townspeople"?
"Will come and visit my shop out of curiosity, Vita Alto gets them all riled up with her campaign and I get free advertisement."
"That's so-"
"Brilliant!" He responds excitedly. I roll my eyes out of annoyance before stepping away from the counter and browsing the shop.
I make my way to the cauldron sitting in the corner. The display note reads 'Cauldron prop - Fill with essential oils and watch it bubble.'
"This can't be real," I mumble under my breath. I turn the pages and look through the book.
"If you break it you buy it," he shouts from across the room.
"Or maybe it can be."
After finding out that there was a little magic in this town, I got in contact with that Connor fellow once again. He was nice enough to put me in contact with one of his work friends in order to help me find a job. We met at a consignment shop.
"Okay and what are your skills and qualities" she asked typing away on her computer.
"Charm casting, potion making, and an ability to ride a broom in any weather."
"This is the last time I do a favor for Connor." She stands up heads for the door.
"Hey wait," I say stopping her." I need to make money, I need a job."
"There's nothing in town that calls for your expertise, I'm sorry."
"Well fine, I don't need you anyway!" I'm an independent girl from Strangetown if anything I'm resourceful. Time to go out and make some money.
"Ah, you should catch a fair price at market."
"One sim's trash they say."  By the end of the day I had a lovely array of items and I set up shop in front of the market. What better way to get ahead of my competition.
My first customer came.
"Hey toots, admire my lovely array of..."
"Hey, where are you...that's very rude to walk away in the middle of a sales pitch."
I guess I'll need to rethink more than I thought. Perhaps I'll hunt down Connor he should be able to help me.
She's a black widow throughout the series so I wanted to showcase that. I always found her to be so interesting, and yes, kinda shady lol
Chapter 3: Just a Little Trust
Thank goodness for free beds and some firefighter's week and a half old leftovers that got me through my first night in this town. I woke up before dawn and made my way down to the beach to catch some fishes. My competitors have seen my potential and have decided to silence partner with me. I provide the fresh fish and they provide the simoleans.
All was going well until I heard an obnoxious voice shouting from across the way. I peered over and saw a tiny bit of fiery red hair. It was Connor and some man standing outside a residence. I rushed over. There's always something breaking the calm in this town.
Upon my arrival he was noticeably taken aback. "What are you...what're you doing at my home"? Before I could respond Connor's loud, obnoxious brother cut in.
"Hey bro, is this your girlfriend? She's pretty, pretty strange haha! Hey sweetheart"....
"Jared", Connor interrupted.
"Alright, alright I'm going inside now. Sweetie you should stick around for a while, you could make us rich when spooky day rolls around".
"I'm sorry, how close are you two? If I turned him into a toad would you miss him terribly"?
"Turn him into a toad? What are you talking about and again, why are you here"?
I took a deep breath and just blurted out, "I'm a witch and I need your help".
Connor's eyes got wide and a creepy, unnerving smile took over his face.
"You okay?", I asked. He froze with that expression. "You're being creepy right now, but please believe me and don't publish this in the paper. I hear music in my head that no one else can hear. For as long as I can remember. I've traveled far and wide and for some reason, in this town, the music fades in and out. It's the most at peace I've ever been. I think something in this town was meant to help me. Please believe me." I paused for a moment to give him a chance to respond.
"What do you need with me"?
"I need you to come with me but only if you believe me". He looked down at his feet, then back at house where his brother was peering through the window.
"Okay, I'll...I'll go with you". We hopped in his car and we left.
While in the car, he put in a call to some friends down at city hall. We stopped by to get me registered as a Sunset Valley citizen. While Connor talked to a friend, I'd gone to talk to a lady about finding residence. She gave me a giant plot of land on the top of a hill. Connor drove us to the plot and I sold him on my dream.
Chapter 4: A Sign
"In the beginning of one of the songs death follows closely behind in the form of a crow. It starts off sad, dark, and always overwhelming me with great grief. Then almost suddenly towards the end a light shines through and I feel engulfed in a familiar force."
"So what do you need from me", he asks.
"I think maybe it's a sign. Maybe someone I'm supposed to protect from death. I need you to help me find a way."
"Okay. I'll be heading to the library after I finish this article", he says hanging up his SimTooth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So, I don't really know what I'm doing right now, and I'm not entirely sure if I believe all that she says but I can't deny things have changed in town since she's arrived. Here I am changing the entire course of my life for this woman. I'm not in love with her, our friendship is questionable, and all of the comfort and the safety that I knew have been snatched from beneath me.

If by some off chance she's who she says she is, then this will be my only chance to truly be remembered and cement my legacy.

I sift through endless amount of books at the library. Upstairs on one of the shelves with a label that reads, "Exhibit Books, not for checkout. Here until the end of summer.", is a small ancient looking book. I take it off the shelf and immediately get goosebumps.

Something is off about this literature. I scroll through the text and understand bits and pieces. Words like, "immortality" and "dynasty" pop out. I flip through the text until I come across a passage about the mausoleum. Maybe this can be of use to her and in turn be of use to me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Connor found me at the Alchemy store, I say that loosely. He rapidly and excitedly tells me about some book, death, a dynasty, and other things. "Slow down and take a breath".
"You need to go to the Graveyard that's where you'll find your next piece of this puzzle", he says.
"I'm supposed to be protecting someone from death not going to keep death company".
"I'm not certain but I think that's where you need to be", he says confidently.
I make my way down to the cemetery. I only make it a few steps into cemetery before my feet turn to stone.
"Oh, so eerie", I mumble under my voice. I look around and see nothing but a spooky sculpture staring back at me. " Did you send for me", I ask the sculpture. Almost instantly the music begins to crescendo into a soothing lullaby.
Before I can even speak or even think I'm....
Chapter 5: Even Exchange
It was like I'd passed out and was instantly transported to a happier time in life. We were together again and nothing else mattered except lunch, playtime and mama's hysterical clients.
Mama sent us to the playground while she went to work over her clients. That's when we went by the water and I begged him to tell me one more story. I loved to hear that story.
 I knew it word for word. This time was different, I couldn't hear his voice. Why couldn't I hear his voice? Because it was overpowered by an old woman standing in the cemetery shouting and threatening to poke me with a stick.
"...find a stick. 3.2.1."
My eyes open and I'm back in the cemetery. The cold, eerie cemetery but now there's rain and a shouting senior citizen. She flashes this beaming smile that disarms me. "So you're the daughter of the Mambo", she looks me up and down and continues "Nice to finally meet you. Your mother called and told me why you're here. I have a proposition for you".
Curious, I ask "what is it?"
"I want you to use my son to help with your cause".
"Why would I do that? He could be crazy. In fact, you could be crazy".
"You're a watched sim in more ways than one", she pauses an examines my facial expression "I want him to be able to have a better life for himself and for his son".
"You want me to live with your son and his child?"
"No, I will take care of my grandson. Just allow my son the freedom to come visit him".
I pause for a moment and ponder. This woman is a friend of my mother's in a place I've never known. More allies are never a bad thing. However, it could be a farce and....
"Hey! Make a decision".
"Yes". She suddenly pulls me in for the warmest hug.
She whispers to me, "give me your information and he'll be at your place by morning". She draws away asking, "what're you doing in this cemetery anyway?"
"I was looking for answers. I was looking for my friend."
"Were they a resident? Did they die here?"
Saddened by the fact that I can't answer her questions, all I do is shrug.
"You don't worry about a thing dear. Yumi will look into it and help you find them. We'll call it an even exchange".
Chapter 6: Sound Off
Hey Mom, I wanted to let you know that I'm here and I wanted to ask if you might be joking about me staying here forever?
Firstly, the young woman never came and picked me up, in fact, she sent someone to escort me back to "here" and he made me drive. He nervously looked at me and mentioned something about a better future. To which I asked what the better future would hold for me and my son? He had no answer and he just looked down at the ground.
We drove back to "here". If you're wondering why I keep calling it "here", well I'd just like you to know that "here" is just a big, empty grass covered lot in the middle of two proper mansions. I'm surprised the neighbor haven't called and complained about us loitering. That's right loitering.
We don't even sleep here. We slave away at sculpting stations and painting easels during the day and when the night comes we go to the fire station and rest.
She also leaves these weird viles for us to drink every other day, what is that about?
Who is she?
Who is she to you and why were you so insistent this would make our lives better?
 When you get a chance call me back mom.
*Leighton hangs up*
So she invited an alien to live with us...
But not before letting him abduct Connor.
So the two of us got together and went to a couple of specialists to have her checked out. They, much like you, decided that she was normal.
She's been true to her word about letting me go visit Sam.
She even got us our own house for the holidays.
However, I'm still not satisfied with the amount of art she makes us pump out everyday. I have no life.
"Oh my goodness you complain soo much. Stop complaining or you get lumps of coal".
"You've got a pretty great life over here. You've gained a skill or two, you still get to come and visit Sam and I, you've gained a friend or two, and you get to work towards something that will impact our family for the better down the line, sounds pretty good to me. Now come on everyone let's just have a good holiday".
*A few days later*
Hey Mom, I took Sam out to go eat like we all used to. Now that you're not here anymore I understand the importance of your last words to me. Leaving your mark and having it last for generations. I understand. No more complaining from me, it's time to create our legacy. I'll miss you Mom.
Chapter 7: Gettin' back to business
An air of dreariness overtook the house after Yumi's passing. It took us a minute but we got back on track. Connor and Leighton continued with their tasks of sculpting and painting while I took on a more selective challenge.
I'd tracked down another witch. He was tall, handsome, a Bachelor, and came from a lineage of witches as his mother also possessed the abilities. I was able to wear him down, convince him to come down to the beach with me and test our might to which he agreed.
Of course, no one could ever hope to best the daughter of the Mambo. I defeated him easily.
Although, to think of it, it did seem almost too easy. Perhaps I'll need to go in for the kill.
*smooch*
Ah yes, totally defeated and totally mine.
His name is Michael and he is my soon to be husband. He moved in immediately at my request. In order for there to be no confusion or tension amongst new housemates, I arranged for Michael to arrive on Leighton's birthday. The four men ate and enjoyed each other's company over grilled salmon while I'd gone out fishing for the night. Zhuvi, my alien confidant, reported that although Connor and Leighton sat quietly, hardly making eye contact with Michael, everyone had a polite and friendly demeanor.
After getting used to Michael's presence in the house, the next few days were filled with wonder and fulfilment. To start, Connor had his birthday and completed his lifetime wish of becoming a professional author after finishing his second best seller. I was so proud of him. People were finally giving his work the respect and credibility it deserved.
This is a man worthy.
Michael and I had a private wedding on a nice beach thanks to Zhuvi and his hovering spacecraft.
Michael surprised me with a bouquet of the most beautiful red roses. This man is a good one, I can tell.
Of course, what's a wedding without witnesses?
Later on that night it was time for my birthday. There was no secret music to be heard this time around.
The good times did waver a little bit. My dear Zhuvi passed away the next day after they'd returned home from the festival.
I went out fishing for the evening when I'd received the call about his death. From what Michael said his last words were comforting. Apparently Zhuvi was ready and referred to his passing as his greatest adventure yet. This news was comforting as I've never been able to deal with death head on. It's a part of my life that I've always found myself avoiding and trying to hide from.
If there's one thing Zhuvi taught me it's that life is cyclical.
Where there is a bout of sadness, happiness is sure to follow.
I can't wait to meet you my littlest Nightingale.
Chapter 8: Mighty Pregnant
Let the record reflect that my pregnancy went swimmingly the first time. It was a piece of cake and the only downside was that I'd had random strangers approaching me wanting to touch my stomach and I couldn't bend down to see my feet or tie my shoes, if I ever wore the darn things. Yup, pregnancy was pretty cool.
I was able to get work done from home by giving psychic readings over the phone.
Arlo: So when I see a pink haired fairy riding a unicorn during a full moon, that's when my true love will manifest into my life?
Aura: That's right, Arlo. Now, it might not be today and it might not be this year but seeing as you're a vampire now you've got aloooot of time to improve upon yourself, whether it be looks, a less crowded living space, more money, your looks....
Arlo: You already said looks...
Aura: The point is it'll take some time! Now my predictions have never steered you wrong, have they?
Arlo: No.
Aura: When I told you to stick to night time activities or else you'd run the risk of dying during the day, was I right or wrong?
Arlo: You were right.
Aura: That's right I was right! Do you know why?
Arlo: Because you are the daughter of the legendary Mambo so your powers of prediction are true and just.
Aura: Right again! Now as I said it will take some time and I want you to be your best self physically, emotionally, mentally, and physically for her when she arrives. Can you do that Arlo?
Arlo: Ye...yes.
Aura: Good man. Now this phone call is gonna cost you about....
Easy breezy, pregnancy squeezy.
Little Siren was born during the wee hours of the morning on love day. She was such an even tempered baby so her burrito days just flew by. Being that she was our first child and being that she was so easy to handle it was really no surprise that I quickly became pregnant with our second and final child.
Perhaps it was my arrogance or maybe my karma catching up to me from all of my "house calls" but my second pregnancy was a tad bit tougher.
But only a little bit.
Chapter 9: Feel the Music
I am now the mother of two wonderful little witches.
My first born, Siren, is a quiet little one in general. The only time you'll catch her being overly animated is if you catch her losing herself on her little xylophone. When I'd mention if she was playing what she'd been hearing in her head she'd just look back at me and give me a cheeky little grin.
After a while I'd noticed that she would play the same song over and over on her xylophone. Although I am a psychic, the best Sunset Valley's ever seen, I figured it would be better to teach her how to talk so I could get a definitive answer.
Aura: Okay my little songbird are you ready to speak?
Siren: *sticking out her tongue* blllhhhh blah blah blah
Aura: No blah blah blah, real words. Will you speak to me? Can you say S I R E N?
Siren: Ah blah blah
Aura: *sings* S I R E N?
Siren: mmmm Ren.
Aura: Almost!
Siren: *Laughs and claps*
Aura: *sings* S I R E N!
Siren: S I R E N!
Aura: Good girl!
It didn't take much time teaching her after I discovered that she was more inclined to learn if I sang to her. Positive, my little song bird became a chatter box. Negative, I passed my musical curse down to her.
Luckily her sister, Lyre, didn't seem to inherit the music. Whenever I sang to her she'd just sway and coo not really singing back.
Michael took it upon himself to teach Lyre how to speak. He made sure to instill great self worth and made sure she knew she was the best.
Michael: Lyre you are the best!
Lyre: Bessss
Michael: Don't let anyone make you feel like you're second best and if you have a dream, work hard and achieve it.
Lyre: Besssss
Michael: Be the best.
Lyre: Best.
Michael also took it upon himself to catch up to the rest of us adults. He aged up the same night I'd gotten a promotion for work. He's just as handsome as ever.
Now, he says he didn't have a mid-life crisis but through the entirety of our relationship he's never had any wish to ever do something he calls 'karaoke', excuse my ignorance as growing up my mother never exposed me to such things.
 Michael and the other men would go on field trips to 'karaoke bars'. They'd take the girls with them while I was at work. Apparently, they'd all have a grand time. Quite strange they are in the valley.
Chapter 10: Debut
Well mum kind of breezed through my baby years. I think that's for the best as I couldn't introduce myself to you back then. Well, my name is Siren Nightingale and mom tells me that because of this book uncle Connor found and read in the library a long time ago, that makes me the heir to a dynasty. I think that just means that I can hear music like mummy can hear music. Being able to hear music randomly is pretty fun, I think. I've started writing songs to the beat.
Daddy and Uncle Leighton like to help. I always tell them to give me constructive criticism because it will be something I'll need to get used to.
Michael: Now sweetie, I don't know how this makes sense to the rest of the composition?
Siren: You walked away leaving the orange to swing off the door hinge…could be iconic.
Michael: Orange and door hinge might be too cerebral for most.
Siren: We need at least one song that gets people thinking. I think this could be that one.
Michael: I see the vision and I'm fully enveloped.
Siren: Nice!
"Constructive Criticism" was apart of my vocab test for which I got an A. I'm in the advanced classes at school we get to take a music elective and wear uniforms. I'm not a fan of the uniform because it always blows my cover. Afterschool I like to go hide by the side of the theatre and listen to the music until an adult comes out and shoos me away for "loitering".
When they shoo me away from there I go to my favorite place. I go to Mick's and watch the acts perform and I'd usually pretend that I'd be performing on the stage in a pretty costume. I take pictures when I'm there for headshots. Daddy has an agent friend who says he will book us as an act.
When I say us I don't mean Daddy and I, that would be too perfect. Nope, "us" means me, my sister Lyre, and her sister Echo. Daddy thinks it's a great idea and he tells me we will all bond but I don't think so.
They don't care for me and I don't know why. Lyre doesn't even call me her sister, only Echo. Echo was a doll first but on the day of Lyre's birthday she came to life just as mom was going to tell my sister to be nicer to me.
Her mouth dropped to the floor and she stopped in her tracks when she saw her appear. Lyre yelled, "my dear sister you're finally here" as she threw her arms around Echo....
It's fine that they stick together it doesn't bother me until they start snickering or laughing when I pass by them. I don't even ask them what it's about anymore I just ignore it and go on my way.
Siren: Oh look at me I'm Lyre and I'm such a fantabulous diva! I'm the best at everything and everyone will cheer my name. Of course you'll scream Echo when I want you to. Oh, no darling not echo my name but you'll scream for my dear sister Echo too! We are the darling divas of the famous Nightingale house after all!
Okay sometimes, it gets to me. Then I just go joke around with my best friend Mitchel and he makes me feel better.
Mitchel: What do you call a vampire who passes out in front of somebody else's home?
Siren: A ghastly cliché.
Mitchel: Hohoho good one.  ;D
I'm absolutely adoring this story and I can't believe I haven't commented sooner!
I love, love the naming scheme you are going with. Your sims have so much personality and I'm excited to see how Siren and Lyre turn out. Hopefully Echo and Lyre will be friendlier to Siren in the future.  :)
Thank you, I appreciate it soo much. All future generations kinda have quirky names that relate to their LTW or supermax skill. :)
Caught back up! So glad to see that Zhuvi had a kid in that last screenshot (the rest can be ambiguous about it but c'mon)
Lyre created hell for the house with yet another sister and she might never be forgiven!
Chapter 11: Finding the Groove
Let me just start off by saying that having two sisters is like permanently having a big, big thorn in my side. Everyone has breaking point and I've finally reached mine. Please excuse my anger, I should back up a bit.
If you remember I told you that daddy had an agent friend. His name is Mr. Clavell and well, it's official we're a group now. We go by The Mini Muses. It's not the best name but it's pretty recognizable here in Sunset Valley. Our agent, and co-manager, was pretty great. He was able to make sure that the local bars and venues didn't get over on us.
Being in the band had it's positives and negatives. We did actually sound pretty good together, but Lyre automatically assumed that she was the boss and went out of her way to boss me around.
Lyre: *whispers* The song is about to start, now don't go being off key and missing cues. I know you're used to amateur hour but this isn't that and...
*music starts*
Siren:*sings* You walked away leaving the orange~~
Lyre: *flustered*
Sandi: Woot! Yeaaaah! Tell me about the door hinge!
Daddy was our other co-manager. He was our biggest supporter and fan. So while we were downstairs giving a great performance he and Mr. Clavell were upstairs talking business and how they could catapult our careers even higher.
 Mr. Clavell put in a call we were to appear on "Oh So Peachy"! It's the biggest musical talk show out right now!
George Peachy: I'm here with The Mini Muses. These three girls have been making music that's been spreading like wildfire amongst the youth and adults alike. They've been breaking records left and right and they do it while not missing a single test or page of homework. Ladies and gentlemen, Siren, Lyre, and Echo!
Echo: Thank you Mr. Peachy! I'd like to add that doing the homework and passing the test isn't the hard part, it's waking up on time to catch the school bus to get there.
*Audience laughter*
George Peachy: You all still take the bus to school? How down to earth.
Siren: It's good to be relatable because we are just kids. I wanna show everyone at home that anyone can work hard be able to make their dreams come true and be able to sit across from the world famous George Peachy.
George Peachy: What's your ultimate goal?
Siren: For me it's becoming a household name by spreading my music and being known as a good person.
*Audience: Aww*
Lyre: Well George, I could sit here and tell you about spreading music and working hard but for me, it comes down to talent, luck, and diva appeal. * Lyre stands up* I'm going to give you a preview of our next chart topping hit. An exclusive right here just for you.
George Peachy: How marvelous! The lovely Lyre everyone!
Lyre: Thank you! You all can come see us perform our new song at our upcoming spooky day party.
*Audience cheers*
This is where my nightmare continues.
Lyre and Echo beat me home and had more time to get prepared for our mini concert and time to torment me by putting hair dye in the shower. By the time I'd washed all of the dye out of my hair, I had to rush and put on my costume, run downstairs, and get in position only to find out that they'd switched my costume. We were supposed to go as a "pack of tigers", Echo's idea.
Mommy and Daddy were too busy being taking care of security so I decided to just get through the performance.
So I went and found my best friend and he let me get it all out afterwards. Mitchel was really the best.
When everyone had gone I'd went upstairs to have a moment of alone time before bed. All of a sudden the relaxing silence turned into a barrage of nasty insults about how our new song was terrible and should be flushed down the toilet and all of my songs that I'd written should just be thrown in the garbage.
I was just about to snap when a giant wiener came to my rescue.
Leighton: What needs to be flushed and thrown out are your terrible attitudes and rotten hearts. Last time I looked at the credits on the back of all those hit records the only writer who was credited was Siren. Pick up a pen and write some hits or quit the group if you don't like how things are but you're going to stop picking on your sister or I will ground you both until you're young adults.
Thanks Uncle Leighton for coming to my rescue and putting an end to their onslaught.
…well almost.
Chapter 12: Resentment, Sounds from a Lyre
I had everything going for me as a child. All that I ever wanted, the fame, the fortune, but most importantly the adoration and the attention. I was The Lyre.
But of course it didn't last because of course she had to go ruin it and take it all from me again. I remember the day after our final group performance, she had to go an age up, leaving us behind to hog the spotlight.
She got to take another step closer in her pursuit of eclipsing me.
 While I had to stay upstairs writing farewells to my fans explaining that our group, my dream, was no more.
Our family fawns over her. They go out of their way to boost her higher and whenever I attempted to even the playing field, I'd always be written off as a "spoiled, bratty child with diva-like tendencies".
So when my birthday rolled around I made the decision to make myself the best. Ignore her and cast her out completely. She was my ultimate competition in the war for significance.
I aged up to be the most beautiful Nightingale daughter, the world wasn't ready but it was my time to shine.
I'd come up with the perfect plan. I got the parents a free vacation. I'd made sure she'd be out of the house and out of my way.
Then, I threw the biggest, best teen house party Sunset Valley had ever seen.
The party was jumping. I was the queen of the teens. All of uncle Leighton's kids came and a few others who heard by word of mouth showed up.
It was bound to be MY most memorable moment up to date until she came clomping up the stairs. Her and her pizza.
She just had to come feed my guest all of that cheese and grease as if I hadn't ordered some lobster thermidor from the bistro in advance. I mean, was she trying give my guests acne and breakouts so that they'd go to school the next day and blame me, as if.
More lonely lobster eating for me.
As if hearing everyone appreciate and thank her for the pizza wasn't enough for her, she just had to suck up some more of my spotlight by having everyone cry over the fact that she was going to retire for the night and not stay for my party.
One day it'll only be about me.
Chapter 13: Queen of the Teens...Psshaw
The night of my teenage birthday was probably one of the most emotional days of my life. Uncle Leighton said chalk it up to an early, first dose of teenage angst and emotions. That wasn't what it felt like. It felt like the pressure was on, everyone had high expectations and hopes for me, but the weight of it was crushing me. Dad was right there when the sparkles were done. Honestly I was so thankful to have him right there next to me. Plus, he didn't even cry.
We drove home and before the hour had passed, Lyre had put up an announcement on our official fan page. She posted that I had aged up and that our group was now done. Fans were very disappointed, confused and hurt. Obviously a lot of people lashed out and blamed me for the group's breakup. It hurt and I didn't like letting them down, but I was pushed out without a fair chance. Mom heard me strumming away and pulled me away from the music for a quick reality check.
With new found esteem and energy, I stayed up and wrote one of my best pieces. It was no Orange and Doorhinge but it was still pretty great. Upon a next day release the fans seemed to agree.
The fans and critics were calling me the Queen of the Teens, but flashy titles like that are over-rated.
My talent and skill got me a lot of gigs as a solo act. Mom and Dad came along to chaperone my first one but I think they just used it as an excuse to get out and be all mushy in public. After this we agreed that I was responsible enough at this point to not need a chaperone anymore.
I started doing features and vibing with cool new artists. It opened me up to an older audience.
They didn't treat me like a little kid but my music seemed to liven them up a make them feel much younger.
The proprietors in town were spreading my name amongst the industry praising my professionalism which in turn got me more work.
More work and opportunities meant more stress, and more stress meant terrible breakouts.
Terrible breakouts lead to iffy odds when it came to asking my best friend to prom. He decided we'd go together but only as "friends", not what I was hoping for but me and my pimple took what we could get.
Uncle Connor was super geeked for my prom, I think it's because I was going with Mitchel. Uncle Connor made a promise to Mitchel's dad who died when he was a baby to take care of him so he's super protective of him.
He sprung for a limo and made sure to wait outside with us before it pulled up. My angsty teenage senses say dad may've also asked him to play bodyguard too, but no definite evidence to back this theory.
I was voted prom queen and I got to feel like a normal teen that night. No one treated me differently, asked for an autograph, or picture. I have to admit that prom night was pretty dang awesome! Who knew that the very next day my 'rents and uncles would recieve an all expense paid rest & rejuvination retreat. Being that I'm the eldest I was put in charge.
Now I love my mom to pieces but there's a reason why I'm more of a daddy's girl. She's the all mighty, all powerful daughter of the Mambo, and if she were to come home to one thing out of place after this retreat let's just say my final next big hit would go something like "hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gaaaaalll"...
…ribbit.
Chapter 14: Two Sides to every Story
I get home from a gig to find that Lyre is in the middle of a rager. Ah yes, a bunch of teens unsupervised, feeling the effects of the full moon, what could possibly go wrong? I take a deep breath and decide a few things as I head upstairs.
First, don't freak out. Second, don't interrupt their fun and let my sister have her moment. Third, hope that mom doesn't find out because I wanna live long enough to be an old, rock legend.
I make my way through the crowd of teens and drop off the dinner I picked up. Everyone was thankful and asked me to stay and hangout. I kindly declined and retired to the safety of my studio for the rest of the evening to get some rest.
At around 2am my big sister sense started kicking in. It was time to shut down the party. I cleared everyone out and then proceeded to assess the damage.
Fairly manageable, I cleaned a bit that night and a bit before I got ready for school. Crisis averted and life not in danger by parental units.
Everything seemed like smooth sailing the next day but of course with Lyre things could never just be smooth. She'd decided that she wasn't gonna go to school, or come home, or answer her phone all night.
She stayed out way past curfew and I stayed up waiting for her to come home willingly or see the blue and red sirens from the cop car and the paparazzi trailing closely behind. Neither of which happened.
I just fail to understand her and unwavering one-sided feud with me. I was more understanding and more patient of this type of stuff when I was a kid but this is ridiculous. I know we're family and I try to keep that in mind now but some days I think it would great to not have her around anymore. Then I feel terrible and automatically take it back.*sigh* Anyways gotta clean up this house and get to school early so I have enough time to make up another excuse as to why my sister isn't in school today. Same old same, rinse, repeat.
Chapter 15: On the Rise
The 'rents came home to a clean house all in tact. Not the tiniest thing outta place. I can now breathe a sigh of relief.
That night, the school arranged an award ceremony for the music club. I was to perform and receive an award that night. Mum and Dad were so proud.
I'd have preferred them to be my only guests for the evening but dad wanted it to be a family affair. Lyre and Echo were actually on their best behavior.
As a reward, dad took all of us out to lunch for our birthdays. He figured we were on a role as far as fixing our "sisterly" relationship. Sorry to disappoint dad but not anytime in the foreseeable future.
We got home and mum had the cakes ready for dad and I. He went first. He begged me to spare him the elder photos, so I obliged. As for me, when the candles were blown out there were immediate camera snaps. Luckily my outfit was kinda fitting...minus the pink sandals.
The Doo Peas Times ran a story ranking me as the Top Rising Star to look out for.
"From her start in the successful childhood group, The Mini Muses, to her run as Queen of the Teens as a solo act. Siren Nightingale has dominated the airwaves for more than a decade and she's only just beginning"!
"Don't let her age full you. She's definitely earned her stripes. She's is a true musical genius".
"And a household name. You've done soo much in such a short span of time. What do you have in store for your future"?
"Honestly, I just wanna continue connecting to everyone and bringing peace the best way I know how...through song".
"Siren Nightingale everyone, good luck to you dear".
Chapter 16: Because We are Best Friends, right?
She graduated putting her a little closer to the finish line. She got a boring write up in the newspaper, so I bet she feels like hot stuff...teh. She'd won prom queen, awards in music, but in the end decided to stay independent instead of signing with one of the biggest music record labels. Not the brightest crayon in the box. She'll fizzle out for sure and soon I'll take the lead.
In the end it'll be me.
Echo: "Lyre's been spiraling ever since Siren's aged up. It's like she's grasping for everything around her to take in and be hers to dominate without regard for the pain it'll cause. Prom came and I'd had my eyes on Bruce. Lyre helped arrange for Bruce to come from school with us so I could ask him to be my date, to which he agreed.
I was on cloud 9. I'd never been to a sim prom before. I never allowed myself to be inspired by romance as that was not my intended purpose. That was never what they sent me here for but to feel like a true sim just this once, like simderella, felt like a fairytale.
On the night of Prom we all got gussied up in our finest and headed to prom. Lyre got a text in the limo and was eerily quiet the rest of the ride.
Once the limo pulled up, Bruce got out and grabbed Lyre's hand. "Wait a minute. You're my date"!
Bruce: Well I really wanted to go with Lyre. When I went to your house that day I only said yes to be polite. It was always Lyre. My bad".
Lyre gave a hearty chuckle. " Sorry bout it babe. Look on the bright side, Jena texted me in the limo and let me know you were voted prom queen. So at least you can say you have something that I never will. You know I love you my sweet doll. Let's just enjoy the night".
They walked in hand in hand. Everyone complimenting them and telling them that their pictures will come out gorgeous. It's everything she ever wanted. Except, it's not. This moment will never be a happy memory for her because they chose me. They adore me for being myself and it's genuine. The compliments that they're giving her right now cut her like daggers. To her they're just lies because if they were genuine then she'd be prom queen. In her mind, I like her sister, am here to steal everything that she's worked for.
The truth is, I've loved her more than anyone else. Been on her side when she was wrong and through thick and thin. If only she knew to what degree me being her imaginary friend was no coincidence.... I realize my place in her life now. I will always be just that "sweet doll". I guess all fairytales don't have happy endings. Tis this lifetime.
Chapter 17: The Worse Kind
Prom was an experience. In fact, the night was going so well that Echo and I decided to just age up afterwards so we could stay out and find something to get into.
The next day was graduation day and I'd specifically asked Siren to come, to bury the hatchet and what not. She was taken aback but happily agreed. She looked so proud I must say. She probably never saw this day coming.
Of course because of who I am there was at least one rabid fan when we arrived.
*gasps* "It's the Mini Muses all together! Can we take a picture where I pose as the 4th member? Oooh Oooh, no! Let's film a quick video of us singing Orange"!
Lyre: Not the time or the place.
"Ugh! Excuse me! I've spent so much money on cd's, t-shirts, I even have 3 pairs of the limited edition tube socks. 3 pairs per member"!
Echo: Sorry, not today but we appreciate your support.
"BUT I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAAAAAN!!!", he shouted before erupting into a grown person tantrum.
Marty: "Son, you're not a child anymore, in fact you're graduating with them. You've all known each other since childhood. Get it together bud. I'd really hate to have mom come and arrest you".
*Evil smirk* "Maybe not right now but before the day is up they WILL give me their autographs and a picture for my collection".
~2 Hours Later~
*Sobbing* "Mum I'm soooorrryyy! Please, please don't take me to jail, I was just excited"!
Justine: You snuck out of the ceremony after they called your name, stole a microphone from the AV kid, synced your simtooth up to the auditorium's sound system, hopped onto the stage as the girls were called to come up, and started cry-singing "Orange-Doorhinge" while trying to hug each girl...you're definitely going to jail".
"I accept my fate but before we go can you try and get their autographs? You're a cop so you could arrest them too if they say no".
Justine: *Deep Sigh* "...Son.
So after that fiasco, the graduation went off without a hitch and we were now graduates. I decided to hand out invitations to my graduation/bday party. Now that the threat was gone, there would be no issues.
I, of course, invited my sister. I even made sure to invite her boyfriend so she'd have someone to hang out with in case my crowd was too much for her.
I went inside to go freshen up when I saw Coco staring at me somberly. "Hey there sweet doll, why the long face? Have I upset you"?
Echo: "Um, no".
Lyre: "Well I've noticed you staring at me like that for a while now. With everyone else your eyes are full of life but with me...."
Echo: "With soo much change happening rapidly, I've just been stressed out tis all".
Lyre: "Coco do you still hate me"?
Echo: "What!? I've never hated you"!
Lyre: "Yes you have. Ever since prom. I never meant to make you hate me. I was just going through a phase. But I'm over it and you should be too".
Echo: "I am over it and I don't hate you. Never have.
Lyre: "You promise you never will? You promise to always stay on my side"?
Echo: "Yes".
Lyre: "Always"?
Echo: "Always".
Lyre: "That's what I love to hear, my sweet doll. Now! Help me work on my moves. Can't have anyone upstaging me tonight daaahling".
~Later that evening~
The party was spicy, everyone was having a great time and I looked amazing. The heat increased when Mitchell showed up. I never knew how good of a dancer he was.
Apparently our harmless dancing rubbed Coco the wrong way. I paid it no mind and continued to dance the night away.
Besides Mitchell and I were on fire. The passion, the moves, the vibes between us. Of course we had to make the party explode. It was inevitable.
Of course the fates have a funny way of working in my favor. My sister showed up right as we were making out.
She turned right around and left without even making a scene. I'd finally won and it felt great!
Mitchell: "So how'd you like to go on a date with me tomorrow"?
Lyre: "No thanks, you've served your purpose. You have my blessing on telling the blogs".
Mitchell: "Wha! What!? Are you serious right now"?
Lyre: "As a heart attack and also forever, not just right now. Any who, I need to go warm up my vocals. The show must go on".
I heard the gasps and the whispers but I didn't care. I mean look at me! None of them mean anything to me.
Chapter 18: Settle It
As if last night wasn't enough of a disaster....
Let's add a public breakup and another grown person meltdown. I had my friend meet up with me at the bistro. Kind of acting as security in case Mitchel decided to act crazy. A little hint, he went ballistic. I arrived and he already seemed emotional. He was mumbling something about my sister through his sobs.
I tapped his shoulder and he whipped around.
Mitchel: "Lyre, you changed your mind"!
Siren: "Ugh! Jeez you couldn't even pretend not to be such a scumbag"!
Mitchel: "Siren...I don't know how it happened but I'm in love with someone who will never want me. But I think maybe in time...".
Siren: "Maybe in time I'll turn you into a toad faced zombie! Needless to say we're over".
Mitchel: "Ren I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you it just happened".
Siren: "With Lyre nothing just happens. You were just another puppet, a pawn in her stupid one-sided feud that she has with me. She never liked you, never loved you, and never will because you're weak and you really add nothing to her end goal. I guess the only thing she and I ever were able to agree on is that".
Mitchel: "No one gets away with speaking to me that way. I know you better than anyone. I'll ruin you".
Siren: "Oh please, if witches weren't so taboo in this town, you'd be snappin up flies from the dumpster out back and croaking right this instant. Save the tears you're about to cry me for the river you'll end up living in if you cross me, taboo or not".
I turned my back on him and left the restaurant to the sounds of him blubbering where he stood.
I'd had it. I'd been so fed up for so long. Having to always be the person who has to take the high road and turn the other cheek. Well I've reached the end of the road and I'm all out of cheeks. *Note to self* Use that in a song later.
I'd found my sister in the kitchen. She smirked at me and that was the final straw.
Siren: "I am so sick of you ruining everything for me! What's your deal? Why are you so jealous and obsessed with me!?".
Lyre: "Obsessed!? As if you were ever worth it. Don't make me laugh. You've always been the golden child. Always the one mom and dad would whisper about at night, praising you and saying that you were gonna be the one that carried on our name. Saying how you were so special and that they'd have to make sure you didn't fail. You! I've always been better than you, I've always had more friends, and had the determination and drive that you could never possess. I'm the superior Nightingale heiress, the better witch".
Siren: "Oh grow up! If all of what you were saying was true then they wouldn't have let you torment me for years. We were both loved and your feelings were never my fault. As far as friends, drive and being the "superior heiress", don't make me laugh. None of those people care about you. They only stuck around for the fame and perks of being friends with the popular, snobby, rich girl. If they really cared about you, you would've been prom queen after all of your begging. You're honestly sad".
Lyre: "You're weak and I'll crush you".
Siren: "We're going to settle this once and for all. You want this top spot soo bad, try and take it. We're no longer sisters".
Lyre: "Never were".
Siren: "Tonight when the full moon rises meet me at the beach and we'll finish this".
Lyre: "Finally you've said something that I care about. You're going down".
With that I turned on my heels and left the kitchen. For a second I was a bit scared. It was like I could feel the excitement radiating off of her. She'd really meant to destroy me. For a non-existent spot.
The one who was supposed to be my best friend. The one who I was supposed tell my secrets to.
We were supposed to be sisters.
I just caught up with the story, and  I just love all the drama!  But still, poor Siren, I hope Lyre will come to her senses as soon as possible.
Yeah Lyre is a lot but I imagine some spares feel the same way as her deep down.
Chapter 19: Gotta want it
The time had come. The tension had reached it's boiling point and there was no turning back. I walked down the strand to the beach where Lyre was waiting. She turned around and we just glared at each other. No words just the sound of the waves breaking on the shore. I stepped back all the while breathing deeply, this was it. It all felt so surreal.
Lyre: "Draw your wand. It's time to claim my rightful spot".
All of a sudden music filled my ears. Soothing like a lullably but assertive enough to feel as if someone was shouting at me. My heart was racing and for a moment I was frozen.
Lyre: "I said, draw"!
Suddenly, the battle began and I was enveloped by a burst of pure energy.
Lyre: "This is gonna be easy".
Siren: "Don't underestimate me".
I drew my wand and an outpour of fire shot right at Lyre. An easy block for her but a great set up for me.
Before the flames could dissipate giving her a chance to recoup, I attacked with a barrage of snow.
Lyre: "Ugh! That's not fair. I can't see"!
Siren: "It's called strategy".
As she stood there shivering with hands frozen into a tight grip around her wand, I delivered the final blow. I unleashed a wild vortex of fire that engulfed instantly.
Siren: "Admit defeat and I'll yield"!
She stood there burning not responding. Would she really rather burn than have a semblance of peace with me?
Siren: "Yield"!
After a moment passed she let out a sorrowful scream.
Lyre: "Yield...I admit defeat".
I recalled the flames and casted a charm of healing water to heal our wounds.
Siren: "I'm not like you and this is over, forever".
With that I ran back up the strand and went home. I left her there and halfway expected her to sneak attack me but she never did.
Chapter 20: Immortal Interlude 1(Mambo Milestones)
My day had finally come. All our hard work was finally fruitful. Leighton and Connor woke up early and prepared my ambrosia. After they packed it up I was on my way.
I took a deep breath when I got to the top, not cus I was tired from running up a hill at my age. My body is still in tip top form, I just had to yawn. None are bold enough to make jokes at the expense of the Mambo. Less they feel the brunt of my wrath.
I'm stalling. Time to do this.
I took the dish out of the container and took my first bite. Egh! Full grapes and olives! This texture and taste is going to be one of the worst parts of this journey.
Scarlet Shayde asked me to stop by and congratulate Aura on becoming immortal! She also thinks that the last picture of Aura, asleep on the ground is awesome.
Thank you so much! Aura would like to add that much like in the picture of her sleeping on the ground she is tired and ready to kick her feet up. She can't wait for a grand-nooboo.
Chapter 21: So It Shall Be
The next night Mum called for Lyre and I down at her curio shoppe. We met her upstairs in her secret chambers. She was peering so deeply into her crystal ball that she hadn't noticed us coming up the stairs.
Siren: "Hey mum we're here so what's up"?
Aura: "My girls, come I've got something to explain to you. I figure it's the right time now that my part of this journey is complete.
Siren: "Journey? Mum I think you've been looking into that disco ball of yours for too long".
Aura: "It's not a disco ball. I'm not going senile or soft in my ripened age. You two will always be my babies but I realize you're no longer children. With that being said, I'm going to just tell you the truth. I am immortal now and Siren one day you too will join me as an immortal as will the next six first born successors.
Lyre: "So...what about me? What will I be to you? My successors"?
Siren: "None of what she is saying right now is true Lyre. She's just been cooped up in this room for far too long. Unlike your gullible customers, we won't fall for these tricks mum".
Aura: "I would never joke about something like this. About the fates of my daughters".
I could tell mom was filled with pain as the words continued to flow out of her mouth. Words however were just words at that point but to Lyre those words were enough.
Lyre: "So am I just supposed to die"?
Aura: "Lyre my baby I...".
Lyre: "I'm not your baby. Why can't I be the one to carry on the legacy. I am more worthy mum. I can do it mum"!
Aura: "It doesn't work like that Lyre. Siren is first born and can hear the song".
Lyre: "I can hear the music too! I can add onto it, I can write and sing. Please mum choose me".
Aura: "I can only empathize with your pain".
Lyre: "How can you when you're literally choosing her...over me. Always, you always chose her over me. You don't even feel bad about it".
Aura: "Enough".
My sister cried like a lost child. All I could feel in that moment was remorse.
Siren: "Why me? What's the point of us becoming immortal and hearing this music"?
Aura: "I think we have to save her soul".
Siren: "Whose soul"?
Aura: "I'm not quite sure yet. The songs, the dreams only give me bits and pieces. It fades in and out".
Siren: "None of this is real! We're going to all live our long lives and meet our maker when we're supposed to".
All of a sudden, Lyre let out this loud, startling roar.
Lyre: "You're so ungrateful! She's given you everything and you turn your nose up to all of that power and mum you just let her."
Siren: "Lyre you need to calm down".
Lyre: "Don't tell me to calm down. Mum you don't get to tell me I can't have that spot, that power. Relinquish the spot to me right now or else"!
Siren: "Uh oh...".
I glanced cautiously at mum. But it wasn't mum in that moment. Lyre had awakened the beast. The Mambo.
Aura: "I said...that's enough. When I say enough I mean enough. Lyre this is the way things are and so it shall be. I have no control over immortality nor do I control how it's passed down through my lineage. But what I do have control of is this family. Either settle in and adjust or...".
Lyre: "Or what mum"? Lyre asks through a creepy smile. "You don't need me and therefore I don't need you or this family. I'm my own person, always have been. I've always been driven by completing every goal I've set for myself. This one is no different. I'm going to destroy everything. You've taken everything from me and now I will take everything from you before I take my last breath".
Siren: "You're not going to do anything. I'll stop you easily or have you forgotten"?
Lyre: "Hmph! We'll see".
With that she turned her back on us and left.
Siren: "I'm not saying I completely believe this stuff but if you're right mum what are we gonna do"?
Aura: "Don't worry about your sister, she just needs time. Come. I have something I want to show you".
She took a seat at her crystal ball and she began telling me all about the book Uncle Connor found once upon a time at a passing exhibit. How he was recently able to track it down with the help of some of his writer friends and purchased the text. All these rules and regulations for a woman whom we didn't know, or ever meet.
Aura: "There's something else I've figured out about us. When you and I come together not only does the music become a little bit more clear, but I get very blurry visions of something. I can't make out what yet but later down the line with more heirs together we can get all the answers. It's more potent when we're together".
Siren: "Mom, I".
Aura: "Please my baby, just try. Look into the crystal ball with me. You don't have to tell me what you see but I know you'll see something. If you don't I'll make everything right and apologize. Please just try".
I took a seat alongside my mum and she began to hum. As her humming grew louder the energy from her magic activated her crystal ball. Funnily enough, that song began to enchant me. I swayed back and forth. The song lulled me. As I peered into the crystal ball at that moment I could see a utopia. I could feel a nurturing, protective spirit surrounding me. I could see her. Kind of. A smile. Before I could think to speak out I'd lost it.
Siren: "Mum, I saw her! Well, part of her. Just her mouth but she wasn't speaking she just smiled". I stood up trembling wanting to run right out of here and sprint home.
Aura: "Everything is as it should be. I'm relinquishing this to you now. Read up and just remember to live your life".
Congrats on your first immortal!! I felt bad for Lyre for a moment there, but her attitude doesn't really help her cause.
Thank you! Her attitude really doesn't help her at all. She's one of the only sims I've had to autonymously pick fights and argue with her entire family. What makes it even more funny is usually after the fight she'll do that diva singing animation and go on about her day haha
Chapter 22: Right Direction
When Mum and I returned home there was no trace of my sister. Mum even called dad to see if he'd heard from her and still nothing. I couldn't worry about her antics any longer.
I had my own responsibilities. Shows in front of the theatre for the elderly and impressing proprietors so I could get better gigs. Better gigs I did get, along with more notoriety.
Apparently the new gossip around town was that I was an actual Siren. I supposedly use my mighty witch powers and cast spells and charms on my audiences and that's how I've gotten and maintained my success. You know as witches do.
But of course, then came the boycotting from the police, other occults, and a few angry hecklers.
One woman almost broke her hip storming the stage with her camera in tow shouting at me to cast a spell on her so she could show the simternet. I needed a break.
Or at least some love so I did what most witches in my time do when we want to meet up. I went onto Wands&Weddings and found a nice man.
Then we met during the witching hour for our first date. It was a successful match and we even decided to make it exclusive. He was much older than me but a great change of pace.
By the first blanket of snow we were engaged.
I decided to take the family with me to one of my shows and let them know the news before afterwards. Of course everyone there was excited. Apparently dad said this guys used to be friends with aunt Bella and he was always really nice.
Mum just wanted grandkids. Echo was super stoked and agreed to not only be my maid of honor but also help design my gown. The night was going pretty great until a few things had crossed my mind.
First, I still had no idea where my sister was.
Second, even at my grown age, my parents are always embarrassing me at my events.
Third, never invite them out to my events together at the same time if possible.
Urgh, those protesters really grind my gears, I wish she'd just cast a spell on them and shut them up, but that's just what they'd want.
Is it just me or does that guy look like an Alvi?
Move to graveyard please. Failed due to corrupted files.
Disappointing as I was 4 generations in with two Immortals.
Have you exhausted all fixes for it? As long as you bring it up to me I'll probably approve any fix (or at least after some annoying "but have you tried x though?")
Sad though :'(
I think so haha. At first 3 out of 5 sims had blank pictures and were unplayble. I saved and reloaded to no sims at all on the panel and completely grayish-blued out control bar.
Finally I tried going back to an old save but it pretty much just repeated what happened the first two times.  I didn't travel or anything. Gen 4 was a chef so she was pretty much just making cupcakes and brownies all day after school.
Try old save + factory reset folder. If you have one you haven't opened yet since this problem it's even better (I had to give up on some old saves when this happened to me but whatever)
After trying for a few hours now, I can unfortunately say that my Nightingales are no more. I'm gonna carry on tho lol I've got a new dynasty idea in mind.
Tried doing the reset trick and got a message about not having expansion pack data. It wont even let me open the file.  :'(
I'm real sorry. I might be a mean dynasty moderator but I don't like seeing failure either.
Good luck with the next step. <3
I'm moving this to the graveyard at the author's request. The thread can be revived at any time by contacting a moderator.
