Thanks for the compliments guys! You are all awesome in my book.

@ MissMaths: There will be no PMing plot details from me! Half the fun for me is to read your comments and reactions to what my Simmies do. You'll have to wait like everyone else. :)

Check back later for an update (I promise, even if it means no supper for my husband in his 1 hour window between his day job and his evening job!) I've got Simming to do!

No the credit goes to you because if it wasn't an amazing story, we wouldn't come back! Right?  ;D

This.

Congrats on 13k!!!  Your story is wonderful - I love the Sunbursts.  I'm glad you are saving Patrick (and hopefully others) to the bin.  I made sure to save Raj and Carmelo in my dynasty - they were awesome spouses.  Can't wait for the storm to break once your family gets back from China!

[It's not quite midnight where I'm at so technically this isn't late yet! Just when you think things are taming down the Simmies go crazy! There will be a couple updates tomorrow as well. Enjoy.]

Fyve: Week 29 Sunday through Tuesday - Some Call Us Crazy, Others Have No Idea!

Uncle Franklin's boys are gorgeous, although I'm not allowed to call Marty and Jarod that to their faces anymore now that they're teenagers. It's super awesome that Sandi and the boys moved just down the street, it makes things a lot easier for Uncle Franklin. He usually heads over to their house as soon as he gets home from work and has a bite to eat. I have to admit, I haven't gone to see the new house yet. Apparently, it used to belong to Patrick's family, his Grandma Mary lived there with her 2 boys. That's a lot of house for 3 people! Perfect for Sandi, Marty, Jarod, Lenny, and Mitchell. I love that Patrick talked the oldest 2 boys into identical athletic clothes when he did their makeovers!

Patrick has been experimenting with the teen population in terms of interesting hair colour ideas. We haven't gotten too many phone calls from irate parents so I guess most are pleased to see the eradication of the yucky green-brown default hair that's been spreading through this town. This beautiful young lady is Haeju Tracy. She is a recent newcomer to town along with her parents and brother. Her spot in our story comes from being the first Sunburst extended family significant other! Yup, Grandpa Wunn's 3 extra kids didn't ... wait, that's not right! I'm getting myself mixed up. OK, so there have been other extended family members that have had significant others - Grandpa Theo's son Julio had a girlfriend late in life, Grandpa Tu's daughter Tammy had a boyfriend and daughter who had a girlfriend. Haeju is the first Sunburst extended family teen significant other. Only the second teen romance in Sunburst family history (my Mom and Dad were the first), Haeju is the girlfriend of Uncle Franklin's oldest son, Marty. [I have very high hopes for "natural" grand-nooboos!] Isn't she gorgeous!

The Grandpas are back working on the Tunnel System full steam ahead! Wunn, being ever conscious of his lack of any athletic or logic skill, takes the inspection of the Tunnel System entrances very seriously. He inspects the safety and security features from the outside ...

... while Tu - although also lacking in logic skill - gets up close and personal with the Underground Gnome Colony. I guess there are legalities involved and humanitarians to appease during this process.

Patrick is sought after all over town for his makeover magic and gets interrupted no matter where he goes or what he's doing. Everyone must have a Patrick Baker makeover it seems. In the gym, he gets commissioned by a hunky young vampire named Jeb. Jeb can usually be found at the gym working out and such. Actually, I'm not sure what he does there after his exhausting workouts. Anyway, Patrick works his magic and Jeb goes from hunky to smokin'!

Jeb then joins Patrick in his workout on the treadmill. The shirt off athletic wear seems to be making it's way as the fashion must of the season here in Twinbrook. I don't mind, it makes working out at the gym so much better! Yes, Patrick did makeover the vampire in the mohawk behind the fitness machine.

With his long work hours, Patrick doesn't have as much time for de-stressing and fun as the rest of us. He starts stealing an hour or two during the work day just to play his keyboard in his corner of the salon, or wherever he is at the moment the muse strikes him. This morning I catch him sneaking in at 5:30! I am awake but half asleep waiting for my alarm to go off at 6 when I hear him come into our room. I pretend to be asleep because I have a big day ahead of me at work. Maybe I'll get him that bass he's always wanted so he can widen his skill set and play something other than the keyboard. *Taps chin thoughtfully* Yes, I think that will be perfect!

Tuesday brings birthday party day again, thankfully it's a 2-for-1 day today! Uncle Franklin is becoming an Elder while my Patrick is becoming a mature adult. I organize the whole thing at Central Park and invite all our family and friends, as always. A formal event always brings out the best in everyone and we get things started with some dancing. Grandma Therie really knew what she was doing when she added a stereo to the park's upgrades she did when she bought it.

Uncle Franklin blows out his candles first, his son Marty at his side and half a dozen noisemakers in his ears.

He gives a good-natured chuckle at Marty's obvious delight in his old man becoming an old man!

Then it's Patrick's turn to blow out the candles on his cake. He looks just the same to me, as handsome as ever in his suit!

Grandpa Wunn has been carting around a funky little science tool in his pocket ever since his last promotion brought him to the top of his second career. The ladies of the house have absolutely forbidden him from turning it on in the house. Wunn figures, since everyone is busy fighting for cake, he's going to try out his nifty awesome toy! Good-bye bench! *Makes note to replace the bench before Mom or Grandma Therie find out* That is awesome! I wonder if he'll let me borrow it?

After cake, I remember I have a book to read if I want that last promotion at work tomorrow. Check out the super awesome fountain Grandma Therie made!

Here is Uncle Franklin after his appointment with the mirror and dresser. He is quite fond of the hat so it gets a wash and stays. (Sorry Crazy, this one is Franklin's good hat.)

Next: Stay tuned for a party of kisses at the pond. And just what are all the Immortals up to?

[I'll be back in the morning.]

Happy Birthday to Franklin and Patrick!

A lot of the townies at the party look fabulous! I guess Patrick had something to do with that? Stylists are just so cool aren't they?!

*cough* Even if it were just for that one shirtless vampire in the gym *cough*

Awesome update as always!

Thanks for reading guys!

@ Chronic: What makes Haeju weird? I kind of like her black/blue/purple hair, make-up free it makes her blue eyes pop. I got really tired of the same old black, brown, orange, red, and blonde hair colour categories so I decided to spice things up a bit.

@ Phye: Yes, Patrick had something to do with the well-dressed townies. I took a close look at the dancing picture and I think the only one there he hasn't done is the guy right in the middle, in front of Patrick, wearing the white shirt/black shorts one piece outfit from WA. I can't remember if Patrick's caught him yet; there are still some townies out there that haven't gotten the Patrick Baker Makeover Magic treatment. Franklin's 3rd son, Lenny, is the black haired kid on the left. At the time the picture was taken, he hadn't been made-over yet but we caught up with him at a party he and Mitchell followed their mom to.

The male shirtless athletic wear is in this season because my Sims spend a lot of time at their gym/dance bar and well, why hide nice toned abs?

@ Feefel: Welcome to the forum! And to my story. I love that picture of Marc catching the glowy butterfly. I have it set as the desktop picture on my laptop, still after all this time. For me it's a bittersweet picture, Marc seems so enthralled and happy in that moment but he had to suffer the mortal fate of death shortly thereafter. I'm sad but it also makes me smile at the same time.

Fvye: Week 29 Wednesday and Thursday - The Immortals Keep Busy

So the last 3 days weren't crazy enough for you? Well, here's the thing. Dad turns 90 on Friday, I become an Adult on Sunday, and 4 wishes have been rolled for a wedding. To grant my Dad's wish to see me married I talk Patrick into moving to wedding up from Saturday to Wednesday, today! I want to stay away from Dad's 90th day because it's his special day, the day the Grim Reaper has circled on his schedule for his appointment with my Dad. We all would like for the Grim to be late so no parties. It will be my first at home with just the family birthday party but for my Dad I will do just about anything.

I insist on throwing a bonefide wedding party and change the venue from our usual Central Park to Grandpa Wunn's Fishing Pond out on the road to the Military base. The Pond has been upgraded with bathrooms, picnic tables, and grills so the guests will be provided for. And I get wedding pictures that are different from our recently usual birthday party!

There's a tiny little peninsula into the lake just big enough for two and that's where Patrick and I take our places. The exchange of rings:

The husband and wife kiss:

I love how Patrick's white suit jacket off-sets my black and Hot Pink dress!

The whole family made it out to the second Sunburst party in as many days, plus a few friends as per the usual. I invite Haeju again as per Uncle Franklin's request. I think he sees grandchildren in the future, and if he's lucky he'll actually get to meet them. Marty seems to have a tendency for ignoring the formal attire request.

Then dancing takes over the party while Grandma Therie grills up a couple batches of hamburgers and salmon for everyone. Marty dancing with his girlfriend, Haeju, as the sun starts to set:

[Can you tell I'm super excited about this teen romance?!]

Mom and Dad showing off their moves with eyes only for each other. I hope Patrick and I are still that much in love when we reach their age.

After having one of Grandma Therie's hamburgers, I break out the marshmallows for something sweet to end the night with. Dad joins me by the fire. I look like a pig eating 3 marshmallows to his 1! With the guests eating or dancing, he tells me about his place in this Dynasty and how he followed through with his career as a criminal because that was his dream, and becoming a part of a Dynasty where the spouses have to honour their appointment with the Grim, he needed and insisted on the freedom to be himself. My Mom fell in love with and married him knowing it was an all or nothing deal. He wants me to understand where Patrick is and what he might be feeling, does he know that Grandpa Tu picked him out for me the day after he was born? I guess Dad has also noticed Patrick's late nights and sudden extremes in ambitions, and he's worried for me.

Now I'm worried too!

Thursday finds everyone around town doing their own things, it seems almost all of us now have Thursdays off.

Patrick doesn't have the day off but heads for the library anyway to show off his keyboard skills for vampire Jeb, and convinces the guy to start a band with him. (Is this another ambition extreme I should be worried about?) May I present the first members of the Night of Lords and Ladies, and Pat band. They are currently looking for 2 more talented individuals, preferably ladies, to round out their group.

Grandpa Tu gets himself away from his sculpting stations and out of the house. He invites is new best friend for a game of Shuffleboard over at the gym. I didn't know he has a competitive streak! It's not nice to intimidate your best friend, Grandpa Tu, you're scaring him.

Grandpa Wunn and Grandma Therie also find their way to the gym. Their showdown involves finding the ever elusive Tunnel System entrance on this lot.

Grandma Therie remembers that we haven't shown off her new car yet, as has been done for Grandpa's Wunn and Tu. Well, here it is. A gorgeous Blue convertible with Lilac (for Moses) and Violet (for Wilbert) accents. Grandma Therie is actually the one to drive it today. [I hate the "set as preferred" instead of the old "set ownership" on cars, everybody drives which ever car they want. Grrr!]

Next: China! 4 go in search of treasure, gems, friends, and those elusive last 2 skill points.

Beautiful wedding, great job, I just keep my Sims cars in their inventory, I don't have room for a garage on my tiny little lot anyway.  They only drive their own car that way, so that's a plus.

I like Haeju's hair by the way, it's very colorful. Patricks beautifying escapades make me want to do makeovers, for the first time ever!  So good job whetting my Simming appetite  ;)

Thanks for the comments guys! One more for today but I'm saving the best one for tomorrow!

@ Rica: I think Tu found the tunnel entrance last week but I/he must have filled it in during a spaced out moment. I love Therie's car too! That reminds me, I don't think I've ordered one for Fhore yet.

@ Katluvr and Simstar: I'm waiting on Patrick to roll the wish to have a child. There's no pressure on him yet because the house is full at the moment: Wunn to Fyve, plus Ernesto, Franklin, and Patrick. Soon perhaps, the clock is ticking for Ernesto.

@ Juxt: My main complaint with the cars is that there are more than enough for everybody! A few past spouses brought a car with them when they moved in, Ernesto, Fyve, and Patrick each have one of these in their inventories. I think they just all prefer driving the smancy fancy cars instead of their sloppy jalopies or big lemons, so it's first come first served.

@ Chronic: Weird isn't bad, I sometimes like to call myself weird but my husband says I'm just a little crazy. :D

Thank you for the compliment on Haeju's hair, Esther!

~~~~~
China Trip #3: Near the End of Week 29
Travelers: Ernesto and Fhore - it's their place and Ernesto is suppose to earn them a Vacation Home while Fhore's breaking space rocks. Franklin - he rolled a wish to visit China and he'll be working on maxing the MA skill and learning the art of breaking space rocks. Fyve - she recently complained that she's the only one in the house that hasn't traveled yet (I guess she forgot about Patrick) and she'll be maxing her Charisma skill while making friends.
Length of Stay: Up to 11 days to give Ernesto plenty of time to earn that Vacation Home. Flight home is probably early if this happens in the first couple days and I get bored.
Flight Leaves: Right now!
~
Fyve:
*Skipping/dancing* I'm in China! I'm in China! I can't believe I'm in China! With my parents. *Pause* Eh, whatever. *Continues skipping/dancing* I'm in China! WOOT!
Dad snaps a quick picture of me in front of the hotel as a memento for me before we all split up. Uncle Franklin and Mom head over to the Academy for some good ol' rock smashing! OK, so Uncle Franklin's still working on the foamy boards but he'll get there. They have the whole place to themselves for most of the day each day. Kind of weird, especially since Mom said there was always people there when her and Dad were in China last time. I get bored there rather quickly, since I'm not allowed to touch the dummy and frankly, I don't want to play chess with myself (I know all my moves!) or discover any more stars.
I hit the hotel one morning to find the announcement of the sale at the General Store had reached the other tourists! TeeHee, I just had to giggle at their matching outfits and funny hats. There for a while, I really thought the ladies were going to stampede right over the 2 men in front slowing things up. *Disclaimer: no one got hurt, thank goodness because both doctors in our family are dead. And I hear Velmoor's too busy to make international "house" calls.*
It only takes Dad a couple days to earn his Visa Level 3. A quick call to the real estate office here has us packing and moving in a hurry! Now we live just a hop, skip, and jump from the market, right in the heart of downtown Shang Simla. We add a locked gate to the arch-way to keep the paparazzi out of our back yard.
Mom gets a call to swing by the Market when she gets a chance. The Grim sends her a postcard notice of his appointment with Dad coming up the day we get back. We're all still hoping his flight's going to be late or he just plain forgets for a while. There have been several previous incidents of the Grim claiming spouses as they're returning home from a trip abroad so we'll just have to wait and see.
We only make a few changes to the Vacation Home, namely: getting better beds, installing a shower for faster morning prep, redesigning the kitchen including a archway between it and the living area/entrance, and adding a door to the downstairs bathroom. [What an oversight!] To create some separation between the living area and the front entrance, we build a short wall to mount the new TV and feature our family photos. The picture frame on the coffee table is supposed to have all the mortals in it but Dad only has one of Uncle Franklin so it's going to wait for the next trip after he pools his pictures with Patrick's. Eventually the other 3 picture frames on my side will have pictures of the last 3 Immortals. That's the plan anyway.
After I make friends with all the teens and children currently living in Shang Simla, and a few adults - maxing my Charisma skill (which Mom did too!) - I stick my hand down a curious looking hole in the ground behind the Market. I head down the flight of stairs for some exploring, fully equipped with Dad's old Super Axe. I got to do some rock smashing too, Mom!
Mom and Dad decide we should all head home a few days early, but not without a day-long trek up to the Temple of Heaven. In the spot they got married, Mom and Dad shared a kiss for a life well spent and a love well honoured. And a whole bunch of other mushy stuff.
We head back home for the last few days of this week and things don't look so good for Mom and I.
Next: Count down to Fyve's Adult birthday.
Alright, one last one to finish off this week. The next update won't be for while as I need to concentrate on the Rabbit Hole challenge to get it done before the end date.
Thanks Simstar and Chronic!
@ Juxt and Rica: When Fhore and Ernesto both rolled wishes to go to China that morning (along with Franklin), and I decided to indulge my Simmies, I knew they had to make that trek up to the Temple of Heaven for that picture. It's something that I would do in real life. I'm very tempted to make that picture my new desktop on my laptop - I still have the one of Marc catching his glowy butterfly up but I think this one might be good enough to warrant a change. Rica, the "smoke signal" is the waterfall way back behind the base camp.
I've never seen all the other tourists leave the base camp at the same time like that so I had to take a picture!
@ Phyre: That TV wall screamed for pictures to make it a super focal point in the room. I couldn't get the small and medium frames to hang lower on the wall but thank goodness the larger one did. And then when I realized there was a total of 8 frames, well as they say, the rest is history.
~~~~~

Fyve: Week 29: Friday and Saturday

Just a short update to finish up the week, and I'm finding it really hard to type this but it's my duty to report Sunburst family news. Here goes.

We get home from China OK without the Grim showing up on our doorstep. I head for the school to give a presentation about my trip. I'm trying to organize an exchange student program at our school and am having a difficult time convincing the school board trusties that the benefits will outweigh the downsides tenfold, or more. *Crossing my fingers* Here's to hoping this presentation is a turning point.

Mom sits down for some TV time with her Mom while Dad heads for a nap so he's well rested for work later tonight. Uncle Franklin heads outside to set up the new board breaker he picked up in China so he can join Mom in breaking space rocks in the back yard. Grandpa Wunn is at work, I think, while Grandpa Tu is in the Art Room sculpting. I believe Patrick's at work, at least that's where he's supposed to be at this hour.

Dad gets woken up from his nap by a soft nudge from the Grim. It's time.

Dad has seen and created chaos and evil in this world, joining the criminal ranks in an attempt to keep his family safe. It's better to know evil so that when it finds you, you can greet it as a friend instead of being scared and taken advantage of. That's what Dad told me when we were sitting by the fire Wednesday night. Dad greets the Grim with a firm handshake knowing he has done his best for his family and achieved his life goals. He is 90 days old, it is his day.

Mom is less peacefully inclined in her time of grief and proceeds to give the Grim a piece of her mind. She finds herself too choked up to say anything and just shakes his hand as her life's soul mate had just done. She is thankful the Grim didn't come early as he had with Wilbert, and not only did he give Dad the chance to see his daughter married, but he gave us a beautiful trip to China to make more memories and be a family.

Good-bye Dad. I set his urn on the side table in the dining room where it will stay for a few days.

We have an unwelcome visitor tonight. I guess news travels fast and the lower criminals don't understand the respect and authority Dad had in the Criminal world. In a fit of anger and grief, Grandpa Wunn makes a short call to Dad's former right-hand man. He made me promise to never tell Mom about this. This burglar should be happy to spend the night safe in jail because I shudder at the thought of what will happen when she gets out.

[Anybody else think this cop looks like Hank Goddard in the police uniform? A little skinnier perhaps.]

Saturday is a day off for everyone except Patrick, and Grandma Therie works in the late afternoon. We spend the day hanging out in the back yard. Mom is using her board breaker as a form of therapy to deal with Dad's death, Uncle Franklin shows his support as her brother by joining her.

Grandma Therie and I finally set up the trampoline that's been sitting in our Family Storage for ages. Grandpa Wunn found it at the Consignment Shop but never took the time to bring it home. We give it a try and have a blast!

Grandpa Wunn is working in his garden. He's been scouring the town for what he calls "Special Seeds" and has been planting a few of them over the past couple days. He says I'm going to need a Deathflower some day and he doesn't have any extras anymore. He has also recently replanted most of the other things he can grow because the stores in the fridge are getting low. He also plants the cherries Dad found in China for him, the one plant Grandpa Wunn has never had.

Grandpa Tu is, of course, holed up in Art Room, his favorite classical music blaring from the stereo. Grandma Therie says he does this after every family death, it reminds him of growing up with his brother Theo and having Marc teach them the joys of sculpting and painting in that room. I guess we all have our ways of dealing.

Patrick is at work cleaning up the disaster that passes for fashion sense in Twinbrook, one Sim, hair colour, shoe, set of glasses at a time.

I go to bed tonight alone, Patrick called saying his band was going to play on the stage at the gym until late, and to not wait up for him. I'm awakened at midnight or so with a feeling that something is wrong but I can't put my finger on it. Then I feel Patrick slipping into bed next to me and I fall back asleep reassured.

Next Week: Tomorrow is my Adult birthday and, now that there is an open space in the house (*Sniff* Good-bye Dad), will Patrick finally roll a wish for a nooboo? I was missing him in China and I rolled the nooboo wish while on our trip.

Aww, RIP Ernesto, you were a good mortal. :'(
Looking forward to the nooboo, though! Better roll it soon, Patrick!
Darn you, stupid, unrespectful burglars! >:(
One note though: Ernest glowed red even as a ghost, I didn't know they could! :o
Awesome update with lots of discoveries for me, personally, Lily! :D
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa
