Mom and Grandma are planning a wedding to rival that of William and Kate, and the rest of the family is going along with it.  Nobody has asked me what I want - nobody seems to care!

Poor Joce. I read that even William and Kate would've rather had a "normal" wedding - which of course isn't an option as heir to the Brittish throne.

I can imagine Joce did not want a wedding quite that big. I'm very happy she had a good talk with her Grandma and got the most gorgeous wedding with her guy (very important!) after all!

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Evening the Odds

I can't believe what Agnes and I created.  The view from six generations on is breathtaking...but I'm getting ahead of myself.

My great, great, great grandaughter, Jocelyn, took it upon herself to elope with that Carmelo Bourgeois fellow.  I can't say that I blame her.  Three generation of Starr women have completely destroyed any idea of a simple wedding.  Needless to say it was not a pleasant time at Starr Manor when the newlyweds returned home from the beach.  I did what any red-blooded, American patriarch would do when his family is going ballistic around him...I hid in the garden!  They think I'm getting a little senile playing in the sprinklers all the time...if they only knew!

Once the dust settled the kids decided to delay their honeymoon so that Joce could get farther in her career and her logic studies.  Carmelo is an artsy-fartsy sort, so he and Jess are like two peas in a pod - always sculpting and painting.  Oh great, just what this house needs, another gnome!

Joce is rising through the ranks at the hospital.  She has held vaccination clinics in the park...

...and diagnostic clinics at the cemetery (personally I don't find that very reassuring, but she claims it's because of the burgeoning vampire population in Sunset Valley...that didn't stop her from holding the clinic during the day, however).

One of Joce's guinea pigs patients told her about a famous riddle competition in China, so she and Carmelo decided it was time for them to take their honeymoon.  Jori and Jess went along, too, leaving Jasmine, Raj, and I for two glorious weeks!

Okay you two, I know what that look means and I really think you ought to take it inside or the paparazzi will have a field day!

While in China, Joce managed to complete all her logic supermax requirements except tutoring sims in skills.  Here she is kicking Jess's butt in chess.

Apparently eating with chopsticks comes naturally for sims with posh vacation homes in Shang Simla...

Carmelo mastered sculpting with Jess as his mentor while Jori beat up on poor defenseless space rock blocks.  She and Jess have quite a collection of large gems.  They recently purchased the art museum in town and gave it a complete overhaul.  The main gallery now houses paintings by Jess, Carmelo, and other local artists.  We added 3 new galleries dedicated to China, Egypt, and France.  The relics we have collected over the years are now proudly on display to the public.  Their pride and joy is the rooftop atrium which houses the world's second largest collection of cut gems (second only to the famous 'Ausette Collection').  We'll be hosting the grand-reopening of the Starr Museum of Fine Arts and Natural History in a few more weeks - I'm sure Jess or Jori will be happy to give you the grand tour then.

Alas, all good things must come to an end, and soon the kids and elders were on their way home.  Apparently Joce and Carmelo made some plans of their own while they were away.  They didn't even unpack before they continued their honeymoon.

You know what this means...

Jess reminding the doctor to take her vitamins.

Leisure time for the momma-to-be.

And then...

...my great, great, great, great grandson, Jameson Starr!

And with little Jamie's birth we have started to even the odds in the Starr household.  I won't be doomed privileged to live the rest of my life in a house full of elderly, immortal women!  Needless to say, Raj, Carmelo, and I were all trying to take credit for the first male heir in six generations.  Leave it to Joce to take the wind out of our sails and quote the latest medical research linking the prevalence of male nooboos to pre-natal consumption of apples by the mother.   ::)

As much as we all love our nooboo, we made sure to give Raj the most time with his grandson.  He's already 85 and, although no one has said it, we know that his time is more limited than ours is.

Synchronized impatience by Raj and myself as Jasmine hogs the nooboo.

Happy Birthday, little Jamie!

Someone's favorite color is spice brown (just like Agnes...*sigh*).  Jamie is friendly and loves the outdoors.  Jori is dusting off Jeremey's nectar makers.  I think she is jumping the gun, but she claims to have a sense about these things.

Jamie loves his grandpa best of all...

With Jamie's birth, Raj decided to retire from his career so he could stay home and raise his grandson.  He spent every moment with Jamie, teaching him to walk and talk and potty like a big boy.  Raj had just put Jamie to sleep for the night and headed out to the patio to relax and enjoy the sunset when...

Raj left us at age 90.  He was at peace and blissfully happy when Grim came to escort him to the hereafter.  Jess and Jasmine moved his headstone across the street and decorated it with violet and aqua flowers.  When they returned, Jasmine excused herself to be alone with the memory of her soulmate.  Jori, Jess, and I sat down to our weekly meal of ambrosia.

The next few days went by in a blur as we marked birthday after birthday.

First Carmelo...

Then Joce...

And finally, Jamie...

(He's a goofball just like his mum.)

Tomorrow is the first day of school and the beginning of a wife hunt.  The poor boy...what have I gotten him into?!

A new male heir in the Starr family! Hiep hiep hoi; welcome Jamie!

A lot of cheers for all the birthdays and a minute of silence for Raj's passing. He had a great life however and even got to enjoy his grandson before his death. I hope his afterlife is pleasant and filled with limos!

I'm still loving the Starr's Kat! Fabulous update as usual!

Thank you for all the good wishes.  Losing the mortals gets easier over time.  I wasn't totally wiped out when Raj died like I was when Agnes died back in Gen. 1.  He had a big smile on his face and it was almost like he had done what he really wanted to do so it was okay to go.

As for Jamie, both Joce and Carmelo rolled a wish to have a son so I thought it would be a good time to get more testosterone in the house.  Poor Jackson - all the mortal men eventually die and he's left with a house full of cranky old women.  While I think girls are way more fun to dress and style than boys, I had a blast creating a 'man cave' for Jamie's bedroom.  Pics to follow.

I decided not to bore everyone with a tour of Joce and Carmelo's redecoration.  Her favorite color is seafoam (yuck, that makes Jess, Jemma, Joce, and Jeremey (by marriage) all with that favorite color) and his is Irish green (another big yuck - hunter green or sage green, good; Irish green, ebil).  It's Jess and Sam all over again.  At that time I went with primarily sage green, this time I've picked seafoam, muted blue tones, and light gray (kinda like Joce's clothing).

Thanks to everyone for the ideas about how to keep pesky immortals out of the kitchen.  I have walled in stove and counter space and locked the door to everyone but Jackson.  I left the fridge, dishwasher, trash compactor, and food replicators out for everyone to use, but decorative objects have been strategically located on the countertops to prevent accidental cooking.  All other counter space has been removed.  I caught Jori trying to cook on the patio table, but no lasting damage was done.  I'm going to start scattering board breakers and easels all over the property to distract Jori and Jess.  Jasmine plays her keyboard or computer games, and Joce reads if left on their own, so they are pretty safe as long as cooking equipment is not easily accessible.  I don't ever have to worry about Jackson accidentally leveling skills - all he does is play in the sprinklers - he would be supermaxed ten times over by now if that were a skill!

I'll probably jinx myself by saying this, but with Joce pretty much just needing her elder birthday and accompanying portrait/sculpture to meet her requirements, I'm actually starting to believe that the Starrs may go the distance (barring a computer meltdown or a massive brain fart - I'm putting my money on the brain fart!)

Also congrats on 10k views!

 :o  Wow, I didn't even realize!

A great big THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time to read my story!  (Your checks are in the mail... ;) )
