Hey, Salty!  I went searching and found some of my favorite Colours!  I'm so glad you're going to make it to the end!  I'm still struggling with redoing the house.  Almost lost everything thanks to the update and Gens glitches but I think we're good to go now.  Sheesh, I'm only at gen4 so this is going to be quite a job.  You surely had some perserverance with the Colours.  Loved all the updates and darling little Sebastian just stole my heart.  Big hugs, girlfriend!

Can't agree with you more, Joria! Colours for the win! :D

Thanks.  Unfortunately, I have to wait and get some more memory for this computer and get another graphics card.  Memory is first though.  I tried playing my dynasty and it was so slow and my founders inventory was flashing like Esthers and I cannot remove anything from their inventory, but I want to finish it really bad, lol. :)

Oh no! I heard that was fixed in the latest patch, 1.24? :-\

I found that as long as I exit out of a Sim's personal inventory (ie, select any other tab), switch Sims, and then open that Sim's personal inventory, the personal inventories don't flash. This didn't fix the stuck items bug though, unfortunately.

Almost all of my inventory bugs were fixed with the new patch except the main lady in my DecaDynasty but when she got back from her "Free Vacation" everything was fixed like it was never a problem.   I know that traveling does fix the problem but that's a risk because it seems instead of fixing the traveling bugs - the last two patches have made them more prevalent.

I hope everything gets fixed for you soon!

I am trying to finish this dynasty, which I started a year ago.  I have had more problems than I care to deal with.  Since I had purchased a new video card, I did manage to get some of the story accomplished, until I couldn't get my seventh generation heir to go to work or go to bed.  She just stood there and finally it crashed.  Next payday is more memory, so I hope that helps.  Anyway, this is a short update and at least I got some more done for now.

sunshine:

As you know, I took over the telling of this story and I believe I had just had my son, Sebastian.  My mom has kind of taken over the teaching to walk and talk and go potty, it seems I am always so tired lately.

I don't know how my grandparents have lived all of this time without going stir crazy.  I am at my wits end and I am so confused about so many things.  I want more from my life than this, but I guess I am just stuck for now or forever, as the case may be.  For my job, I needed to throw a fundraiser, so I thought, what better place than in my grandfather's park across the street.  It was uneventful and of course the grim made his appearance for one of many townfolk that are dropping like flies.

On a brighter note, my grandma Charlene was flirting up a storm with someone that came to the party.  I almost had to tell them to get a room, but I did not think that was appropriate.

Then I saw my grandma Agnes and Grandpa Franklin arguing over something. The only think I heard was she heard he had been cheating, oh good grief, she has been gone for what, a thousand years?

One night, just before my birthday, Grandpa Franklin called one of family meetings.  I can't take this anymore and I think I am going to scream:

When I arrived in the kitchen, everyone was eating their ambrosia and there was actually a line.  Oh boy, I can't wait to eat that stuff, fish and flowers, yuk.

We all sat around the table and Grandpa Franklin started his little speech:

Again we were asked about what we wanted to do when the dynasty came to an end.  I thought, not this again, so I made a suggestion, "why don't we all take some paper and write down what we would like to do in private and do not sign it."  After some more discussion, Grandpa finally agreed.

Then it was my adult birthday, yay, I am so thrilled.  I don't feel any different, but my thoughts are different.

Later that night, after everyone was asleep, I wrote my letter.

Dear Family,

At this point in my life I know what I would have wanted and what I still would like to have.  I want to date, get married, have kids and lead a normal life.  I am not sure if that is possible, but I want to be normal and I don't want to settle anymore.  I hope I can get through this without losing my mind, but I am going to try for the families sake.  To live hundreds of years without no one in your life, does not sound like much of a life for anyone.  I heard from town folk there is town far away called Hidden Springs.  It has everything that I always wanted.  We all are going to have enough money to do what we want, any way we see fit and that is my dream come true.  If I cannot have a future, I might as well just call the grim and have him come get me.  Well, at least I got this out in the open, so maybe I can sleep now.

I know they will probably know it is from me, but I really don't care.  I have to stay strong for Sebastian, because if he is anything like me, he will have the same questions and dreams that I do.  I wonder if there is actually a normal life out there.

I actually got my dynasty to work again.  I thought I had put it on my new computer, but maybe I didn't.  Anyway, I have been playing all afternoon and will do an update this evening or tomorrow, yayyy.  I can't believe it, three years or more I have been trying to finish this thing.  I wish I had not deleted most of my story, but I guess that is the way it goes.  I remember that all of the elders had completed all of their requirements and Sunshine had Sebastian.  I guess the save I had was just before Sunshine's adult birthday and just before Sebastians youth birthday.  So if I repeat something, just bear with me until I get my bearings on this story, it has been forever since I played it and now, I just want to get it done. :)

Sunshine:

I know it has been a long time since I did an update on my family, but alot has gone on lately.  I hope I can make some sense of what is happening at this time.  Sebastian had his youth birthday and no one will ever believe me, but he has Grandpa Franklins purple eyes.
No one else has gotten them, so it is kind of weird, founder has purple eyes and the last heir has purple eyes, go figure. I was not able to get a picture, but I promise I will next update.

Last update, I believe I was level five in my career and I am almost at my next promotion level, seems like it has been an eternity.  I guess one morning, it must have been an ambrosia morning, because all six elders headed for the replicator, what a sight.

Sebastian is such an adorable young man.  He asks alot of questions though, like, why are we living with all of these old people.  I can't really answer that right now, so I had to change the subject until a later date.

He is fascinated with movie stars and of course his grandmother is a wonderful star, her name fits her well, Star.

Grandpa Vincent already did Sebatian's portrait and Grandpa Franklin did his ice sculptor.  Of course, they were both masterpiece's.

I have had a really hard time sleeping lately and it seems I wake up before anyone else does.  I think way to much about things and that is what my mom says too. Most of all, I think about young Sebastian.  Is this what my mom did when I was young and the generations before that?  I guess I am no different, time is going so quickly.

I think alot about my job too and I can't wait for my next promotion.  I look forward to going to work and I can't wait to get to the top, but then what.  Grow old and do what?  I know it seems like I dwell on these thing, but I just can't help it.

I have to pull myself together and realize, how many people get to spend time with their great and (then some) grandparents.  Grandpa Franklin tells so many wonderful stories, of things and places I know nothing about.  He still visits Grandma Agne's grave and sits for hours.  None of my grandparents really had any kind of relationship after thier loved ones passed.  So sad, but
I guess that is the way they want it, but times have changed and people change, so all I am going to try to do, is spend time with these wonderful people and try and make my son understand our future.

I gave Sunshine a makeover and she is the spitting image of her grandmother.

Before I start on the update, here is a pic of Sebastian and then of Sebastian and the founder, Franklin.  I think it is so eerie that the first and last of the 8 generations have purple eyes.

Vincent:

There are some nights that I cannot sleep, so I go across the street where the spouses are buried.  This particular night, I spotted Fidel up to his regular tricks, I guess ghosts love to jump into objects.

When he was done, we actually chatted for a while and he ask how we were doing.  I just nodded and said great.

And then I saw her, my beloved Maebe.  I had to see her, kiss her and tell her I still miss her and love her.  I pulled her close and gave her a smooch, but that wasn't good enough for her.

We stood and talked the rest of the night, until it was time for the sun to come up and I needed some sleep.  I told her I would visit more often.

Franklin has been acting strange lately and I am not quite sure what he is thinking.  He met up with our maid in front of the theatre and probably made a fool out of himself, kissing and hugging all over her and she wasn't resisting.  There are alot of women, young and old who would like to become part of the Colour fortune.

Ok, I can't watch anymore of that.  Somehow, it is just wrong, but whatever makes him happy, I suppose.

On a lighter note, all of eight of use actually got together for a family picture.  What a handsome group, may not get this chance very often.

I must say, Sebastian is getting alot of attention, us ole folks love having a youngster around and Vincent is always reading him bedtime stories.

Us elders have made a decision, but it cannot be revealed just yet.  It is for Sunshine and Sebastian.  Technology and science have come along way since we were adult so many hundreds of years ago.  We just felt that the decision we made would benefit our two youngest heirs.  It will all be revealed when Sebastian turns into elder, in the meantime, we still have to explain how the dynasty works and I don't think he is going to be too happy about it.

Sunshine:

I just got my promotion that I was waiting for and got another career boost from an opportunity that came up, so moving right along.  Sebastian is getting so big and it won't be long until his teen birthday and that is when he has to be told about the dynasty.
The grandparents have comprised a book, so that it explains it better than I ever could.  I wish I had that luxury when I was told about it.  On Sunday, we all got together at the park across the street and played together.  It has been a long time since we did that.

We were getting ready to go home, when a woman approached me and said that Sylvester, Sebastian's father, was planning on getting married.  At first, I wasn't quite sure how to react, but it hit me, I didn't want him to get married, but how fair is that, when we can't get married.  But I had to see if he still cared about me or Sebastian, one last time.

Well, that answered my question.  Now where do we go from here.  I felt that when Sebastian turned into a teen, it was only fair that he met his father.  He hadn't really asked about him, but I think he needs to know.

When I returned home, I saw Sebastian in the Colour cemetary across the street.  He had never seen it and we didn't say anything about it.  Ok, I know there are going to be questions and sure enough, he came into the house and fired away.

So I thought really fast and came up with telling Sebastian a ghost story, which seemed to satisfy his curiosity, for now.

Sunshine:

I am not sure what the problem is, but it seems like everyone is fighting lately.  I think being together 24/7 is taking its toll on the elders.  I am shocked that this is happening now.

I think what bothered me the most, Sebastian was watching the whole thing and it is also his birthday this evening.  I wonder what he is thinking about all of this.

The funny thing is, as soon as they argue, they apologize.  I don't think it is a full moon.  Now I know why Vincent and Carlton are still working, when they could have retired centuries ago.

Later, I saw Grandpa Franklin give Grandma the package, so I gather that must be the book for Sebastian.  I hope he takes this whole dynasty thing well or at least better than I did when I was told.

It was finally Sebastian's birthday and of course we all were there cheering him on and I knew what I had to do later that evening.

After we ate cake, I told Sebastian I needed to speak with him in private.  We went downstairs and handed him the package.

I almost feel like I have let him down, but I hope he understands.  I asked him to go ahead and read it and I would sit with him.  I wanted to be the one to answer any questions he might have.

It didn't take him long to finish and he sat and looked at me a few minutes.  I was hoping it wasn't the calm before the storm, but I was pleasantly suprised.

We finally stood and he got a grin on his face and asked me, "You mean to tell me, that we will never die, we will be old together and I can't get married or have children of my own?"  I explained, that once the requirements were met, that he was free to do what he pleased, but he would be an elder and no, we would never die, unless he took the death flower out of his inventory and if he didn't eat the ambrosia.

He flung his arms around me and said it was the best birthday present anyone could give him and said how often does anyone get to live as long as they want.

Well, that wasn't quite the response that I thought he would have and maybe being so young, he might not realize how long a lifetime is, but at least he took it better than I did, thank heavens.  Right now, he was a very happy teenager.  The irony of this whole thing, is that he is the exact image
of his grandpa Franklin and when side by side, it is uncanny.  To think, the first and last immortal look so much alike and the same purple eyes.

Later, both grandmas were cutting a rug and after all of this time, they could still club dance like the youngsters.

I guess I could learn alot from the elders and from my teenage son and sieze the moment and be thankful for family and long life.

Sunshine:

It seems like an eternity since this whole dynasty started.  I am still the age I am supposed to be, but it feels like I should be much older.  It seems like Grandpa is always in the basement and I am not sure what Sebastian thinks about, on that swing all of the time.

A couple of days before Sebastians birthday, I guess he got a wild hair and went next door and put a burning bag on the neighbors porch.  Needless to say, I don't think she was very happy.  She tried to blame Sebastian, but since she didn't see him, it really didn't matter.

It was finally Sebastians birthday and of course we did what we always do, watched him blow out the candles and eat cake, until we can't eat anymore.

I do believe he is one of the most handsome young men I have seen and I don't think he looks as much like Franklin as he did as a teen.

The next day, it was time for Sebastian to graduate and we all went to City Hall and then he wanted to go to the diner, of all places.

When we got home, the party continued, Vincent did Sebastian's portrait, Franklin did his ice sculptor and then we decided to do what we do best, club dance.  We did have a good time, I have to admit.

After all was said and done, Mom wanted to talk to me.  She asked me, "If you had a choice of what you wanted to do, what would it be?"  I thought for a few minutes and told her that I probably would go to college and get my degree.  She said, "Sunshine, you know you can still do that, if you want.  You can do anything you want to do after all of this is over. You do have the gift of immortality and you can still use it after it is done."  I never really thought about it, but I didn't want to be an elder and go to college.  Mom saw that look on my face and said, "Think about it, my sweet child.  Haven't you been keeping up on all of the new technology and science projects that we can do now?"  I hadn't really thought about it, but I still wasn't sure what she meant and I wonder if Grandpa working in the basement had anything to do with all of this.  Mom said she couldn't say anymore, but for me to do some research.  Then I asked her the same question.  What did she want to do when this was all over?  She wasn't as old as the rest of them, so surely she had something in mind.  She changed the subject and said that I would be a very rich woman and would inherit this property and everything in it.  I didn't like the sounds of that, but I was exhausted, but rest assured, I would find out what she meant by that.  I wonder if these elders have something up their sleeve.

I think these elders have been bitten by a bug or something, first Grandpa Franklin takes the maid into the star trailer.

And I am not quite sure why the maid has on a culinary uniform, must be a full moon or something.

Then I see my mom all googly eyed and writing, what looks like a love letter.

Just some strange things are happening, like Grandpa Franklin, who has never worked a day in his life, I mean besides home, took a job as a Game Developer and so did Grandma Heather. I know these elders have been around for a long time, but it is still strange.  Sylvester and I still keep in touch, that is Sebastians father.  The woman he was married to passed away not too long ago, so we have talked more than usual.  I did get notice that he was getting old and maybe needed to spend some time with him.  I still care about him, oh wouldn't it be wonderful if they had come up with something to bring the dead back to life and then something to make you younger?  That would be so wonderful, then Sylvester and I could get married and have a bunch more kids and do whatever we wanted.  I had to pinch myself back into reality.  I didn't read anywhere about stuff like that.  Who knows, maybe someday they will come up with something, but for now, I sill have my dreams.

After I got the message that Sylvester was close to the end, I told Sebastian to invite his father over and spend some time with him before I got home from work.  When Sylvester arrived, he was very glad to see Sebastian and told him how proud he was of him and that he was sorry for not spending as
much time with him that he should have and gave him a big hug. They talked until I got home and Sebastian excused himself.

We did the usual chit chat and then Sylvester said he didn't feel well and left.

I really didn't want him to go and ran after him to tell him to stay awhile, but it was too late.

It couldn't have been but an hour after Sylvester left, that I got a phone call that he had passed away and for some reason, it hurt so bad, that I thought I couldn't stand it.

Even though I had just been promoted to Leader of the Free World, it just didn't feel the same. Sebastian came in the room about the time I was breaking down and somehow, he knew just what to say, what a wonderful son we have.

Franklin:

The house finally settled down after all of the excitement and I was just about to doze off, when for some reason, I felt I needed to go across the street to the cemetary.  When I arrived, Agnes and the others were waiting.  I was so thrilled to see Agnes again, it had been a long time since we spoke.

She hugged me and said she had missed me terribly and that she wanted to tell me something.

She took my hands in hers and said it was time for me to let go and take her gravestone to the main cemetary.  I told her no, that was not going to happen.

She said, my dear Franklin, you have done a wonderful job with raising our family, we all have watched you grow.  It is almost over and you have to choose what you are going to do.

"Franklin, just like Sunshine and Sebastian have a choice, you also have a choice."  I couldn't think anymore. She pulled me close and kissed me goodbye and told me to think about it.

The next day, Sunshine asked me if she could get Sylvesters gravestone and bring it home.  She said, "maybe we were not married, but that is not my fault.  I would have married him if things had been different."  I told her that she could.

Sunshine:

Somehow, just having Sylvester close to me, makes things seem better, but in a few days is my elder birthday.  It seems like time is moving to fast to catch up and I can't catch my breath.  I am not sure why I am so sad, I should be happy.

Well, the time has finally come for my elder birthday and I am not real pleased, but I can't stop it.

I really didn't feel like cake, but I had to go through the motions, for everyone else's sake, especially my son.

That was relatively painless.  Sebastian is climbing up the ladder with his job and doing really well.  He has already purchased his two properties and has his friends, of course that could change before he is an elder, but he makes friends quickly.  I know it is time for me to eat Ambrosia, but watching the looks on the other elders faces, everytime they eat it, makes me apprehensive, but I know I have to do this and a death flower in my inventory, really?

After everyone goes to bed, I sit in the kitchen and look out the window at the museum.  What a beautiful sight and Grandpa Franklin and Grandpa Vincent have done such a wonderful job with it.  It won't be long before we have our pictures taken in our own little museum.

Well, I think I am finally on the last count down.  I forgot how long it takes to get to each stage and I thought I would be done sooner, I have been playing non stop for two days now.  It has been a thrill to play with this family again and there is a few more suprises to come.  I am still working on the ending and I can't quite decide what I am doing yet.  I do have an idea and I am sure it will come to me.

Well, the time has come for me to eat the Ambrosia.  All my requirements are met and friends made, so here goes....

Sebastian said he would sit with me, until I was done eating, he didn't look real thrilled by my choking and gagging while eating...

When I started to change colors, Sebastian got all upset and yelled, "what is happening, mom, you ok?"

Ok, that chore is over with.  I told Sebastian, after the initial first bites, wasn't too bad.  I didn't want to scare him too much.

While we were sitting there, he told me he met someone.  I had a puzzled look on my face and he told me that his friend was real nice and he really liked "him".  Well, I am not to judge and I think it is wonderful that Sebastian found someone to share  things with.  Everyone is different and it is a different time than when the elders were younger.  I told him I was happy for him and told him to have fun and I wanted to meet his friend.  Sebastian said he would invite him to dinner one night, provided we were not eating Ambrosia.

I did happen to see something kind of funny in the cemetary across the street, I guess even ghosts like to walk on ice and play in the snow.

Other than me eating Ambrosia, Sebastian is coming along well in his job and it won't be long until he turns into an adult and I guess you would say, it is downhill from there.  The elders are really restless and I overheard Grandpa Carlton saying something about retiring.  He makes tons of money, since he has had the same job since he became a young adult, but he is tired and I can tell.  Grandpa Vincent has also worked the same job and our refrigerator is full of food.  I think they are all tired, so I hope they take vacations when this is over.

Sebastian:

I figured I would give mom a break for a bit, besides, I wanted a chance to talk for a change.   I have read and reread the book mom gave me for my birthday.  I am not sure why mom got so upset when she found out about immortality.  I know I will be an elder for the rest of my life, but it doesn't matter.
It was finally my adult birthday and of course we did like always.

Gramps Franklin did my sculpture and it was magnificant, as always.

I tried to keep the elders busy and to find things to do, we did manage to have a snowball fight and the elders won against my team, go figure.

Mom seems to be flirting up a storm lately, she wouldn't admit it, but she is.  I guess I don't blame her, but the maid, really?

I don't think she understands, the Colours are worth millions and age isn't a factor for anyone right now.  As for me, my friend and I are getting along great.  After this is over, we plan on living together and I will share my immortality with him.  There will be plenty of Ambrosia to go around.

That is really all right now, mom's museum is finished and all I have left is my elder portrait.  I have completed everything, but reaching the top of my career and that will be soon.

Yes!  Cheers for the return of the Colours!!!

And what a fun update to read - Salty, you did a great job of getting us up-to-date.  So much has happened.  I loved the night screenshots with the ghosts making snowmen.

Good luck to you and the Colours on the last leg of your journey.  :)

Sunshine:

The Colour Dynasty is finally coming to a close.  Sebastian had finally reached the top of his career and finished all requirements.  It was finally his elder birthday.

Franklin did his final sculpture and Carlton did his final portrait and they were put in the museum.

We all decided to sit at the table while Sebastian ate his ambrosia and it was something to remember.

So now, this part of the story comes to an end. The elders are planning on traveling, apart.  Each are going to different parts of the world.  Mom is staying here, she has taken the death flower from her inventory and said it is time to be with her one true love, so she will live out her days in the house with me.
For myself, well, that is another chapter, but here is a few pics of Carlton, Vincent and Star.  Each have retired from their original careers, finally, they can have some fun.

And final pictures of all of the Colour family.
