Indeed I did not forget! I would've mentioned it in my last post, but chose not to in case you didn't want others to know I knew something they didn't. (Obviously that is not an issue) I am curious to see how this will be addressed, so it'll still be surprising to read it!  ;D

Thank you for not letting the cat out of the bag.  There is still a little more to come in this story, and then you can tell the world "I knew long ago!"  :D

Plans and Further Revelations from Leo

The morning after the party, Imogen, Joyce and Kaye leave to begin their new careers and life in town.

Laurie doesn't leave with the other students.  He has more important plans.  Plans involving Marigold and a special ring.

Not to be outdone, Leo changes into his swimsuit (the better to show off his impressive muscle definition from all that sculpting) and pops the question to Sunflower.

Soon wedding plans are underway.  Sunflower wants a big wedding - eight guests!  She and Leo are making up their guest list.

Then Leo says casually:  You know, we'll have to invite my Dad.
Sunflower:  Your Dad?  You have a Dad?
Leo:  Well, yeah - did you think I hatched from an egg?
Sunflower:  Of course not!  It's just that you've never mentioned him before.  Of course your father must come to the wedding!  I'd love to meet him!
Leo shifts uncomfortably:  You already know him.

Sunflower:  Leo, I think you'd better tell me just what this is all about.
Leo:  My parents died when I was a child.  I was taken into care by Social Services.  I was waiting to be adopted, but then I aged up to a teenager.  And nobody wants to adopt teenagers.  I was resigned to living out the rest of my days in the Sim Bin.  One day I was out in the yard alone.  An old man walking past stopped to talk to me and somehow I found myself telling him my story.  The next thing I knew, I was leaving with him.  It wasn't an official adoption, but he took me in and gave me a good start in life.  He put up with my teenage rebellion and my wild behaviour.  He's the one who made me come here to help you.

Sunflower:  Made you come here - you mean Mr Payne? Your father is Mr Payne?
Leo:  Yes.  We don't have the same last name because it wasn't an official adoption, but he's been a father to me.  When he saw the hardships that I and other orphans experienced, that's what inspired him to start his Orphanage Projects.  You might say I was his first orphanage project.  I really owe him a lot.     I know I've caused him a lot of worry over the years, and it would mean a lot to him to see us married.
Sunflower:  I don't know what would have become of Marigold and me if not for Mr Payne.  And now, to think that I have him to thank for you, as well!  We all owe him so much.

And at this point, I think Sunflower and Leo could use a little privacy so we'll say goodbye for now.

And yes, the relationship between Leo and Mr Payne is the secret Audren has kept so well for so long!  For which I am very grateful.

I do plan to give the two couples a wedding.  Please understand that my poor Sims are not like the privileged Sims in other peoples' games who get splendid weddings.  My Sims are far more likely to have an intimate ceremony in the bathroom or some other un-lovely setting.  But I am going to try to do my best for Sunflower, Leo, Marigold and Laurie.  And for Mr Payne.  Give us a bit of time to set this up.

I just love this story!!!  It's like reading a book, once you started, you can't stop!!!  Sooo happy Leo made that "young again" potions!!!  I was hoping for something like that to happen!!  Really an awesome story!!!  Thanks for all the effort ♥

Congratulations on the upcoming weddings, Marigold, Sunflower, Leo, and Laurie! Even though I knew Leo's relationship already, (Schipperke had entrusted me with this information while I was writing the Forum Sim Grab Bag, in order to more accurately capture Leo and Mr. Payne's connection) I didn't know the rest of Leo's backstory. I'm glad we have Leo to thank for the wonderful Orphanage Project!  ;D

This story actually found itself in my dreams last night - Leo was cooking and I was trying to help him rescue a failed dish. Don't let Leo cook, I guess. :) And I guess I even like the Flowers in my sleep...

Maybe one of the later students will be your simself. LOL

Sorry about the burned dinner, Louise!

I've been putting off trying for the weddings after reading about all the problems people are having since the patch, kind of hoping they'll release another patch soon to fix the problems caused by that patch.  But I do want to try soon.  If it doesn't work, the two couples may have to just settle for living together out of wedlock.  I hope it will work, though.  The first time I decide to try for a proper wedding, and now marriages aren't working?  Maybe it's karma - perhaps my Sims are just not destined to have lovely weddings.  But thanks for the comment, and I am going to get up my courage to try soon.

I hope the weddings work out Schip! I was so afraid Grim would show up before they drink the potion.
Don't worry about the burned dinner lol! I'm a pro at rescuing burned food. :P

I married two Sims who already lived in the same house, they got the moodlets and changed relationship status. The arch did reset the bride (who initiated the interaction) but otherwise all was fine, including the exchanging rings animation. Since they live in the same house already, I'm guessing your Sims will be fine.

Since the arch reset the bride, maybe there is a problem with the arches.
I didn't patch my game yet, I'm a little afraid of new patches lol. ::)

Yeah I quite agree. My game crashed to smithereens the first time I ever patched up a few weeks ago. Now I must purchase all my EPs again (after already having had to replace base game first, only bit that works now). It's an expensive exercise... Never had a day's trouble without patches. I'll never patch up again unless my game stops working without it.

Donatello, for some reason there were two copies of your post so I removed the second one.

I know I'm taking my own thread off topic, but I have to ask:  why do you need to repurchase everything?  If you had originally purchased the downloadable version, can't you just re-download?  Repurchasing everything sounds pretty awful!  I'd try contacting EA about the issue and see if something can be done.  Good luck.  :)

They can't do a thing, problem is I never registered the originals (didn't know about it) so when I lost my CD container with moving (containing the equivalent of about $1'500 US in important originals, including CorelDraw and other expensive, professional design programmes and tools), I resorted to using an image on a virtual drive. Now that worked fine as a substitute. But the problem is that my original purchase now means nothing, since the patch destroyed/corrupted that image. I know the "that is wrong" bit. But just like now, I couldn't afford to replace R12'000 in original, legal discs. Only, this time I have learnt my lesson from last time. Still, everything was legal originals and now I must suffer anyway.

(It's the financial equivalent of having to buy two new, fully functional computers. That's how bad my situation was. I still haven't replaced anything, but besides Sims, none of the other programmes need their discs to run, only for installation. Sorry for double posting.)

Oh, I see.  That's an expensive way to learn the lesson about registering your games.  Rotten situation.  Maybe there's a chance your CD container will turn up?  Good luck with it all.

Thanks. I'm still sore about my design programs though... A new pc will have me back to square one on a whole new level.

I really do love your stories. They're very sweet and slice of life, but they have so much creativity to them! I also really like Mr. Payne as kind of a legacy character that ties everything together. He actually reminds me somewhat of The Doctor from Dr. Who, except that Mr. Payne isn't much of a harbinger of tragedy. He's quite the opposite really. Point being, I'm eighty percent sure he's a Time Lord.

And I just have an itty-bitty bit of a critique. I really like the May-December romance going on with Leo/Sunflower and Laurie/Marigold. I think it's a nice way of saying how even though they're old in body, they still have youthful, vibrant souls and hearts. What rubs me the wrong way a bit is how when Leo proposed to Sunflower, he already had a Young Again potion in reserve, and gave it to her as essentially an early wedding present. I know that it's meant to be a really sweet gesture, but I kind of saw it as a bit of an undermine, like Leo was implying that he'd only marry Sunflower if she was younger. I know that that's not what you were trying to say, and you meant it as a sweet gesture, and I have absolutely no problem with the twins getting Young Again potions in some way, because yes, they did just start living, but I did not like when and how they got them. To me, I think it would have sat better if Leo either told the girls what he was doing and they kept it an open conversation throughout, or if the girls had no idea that the potions came from Leo.

Everything else is wonderful though. I can't wait for the wedding!

Haha, thanks 'Rosa. :) I'd honestly be surprised if nobody else mentioned it before, since usually any character from any tv show, book, comic, movie, etc that can teleport between time and space is almost immediately called out as a Time Lord. (My personal favorite is that Ms. Frizzle from Magic School Bus is River Song in disguise, because that makes Magic School Bus the most amazing spin off show ever.)
