Lucy was at the park one evening just on dusk.  She spied the Pleasant family there.

The parents seemed a loving couple.

Lucy felt a tear in her eye.  Her own parents had been affectionate like that.  It had embarrassed her so and yet when she looked at the Pleasants, it just seemed sort of nice.  She would have given anything to have her parents back again, hugging like that.  She wished she could take back all those silly comments that she used to make to them - the pretend barfing and the howls of disgust.  If they could come back she would never do anything like that again.

Sadly, though, she knew they were gone forever and it was all too late now to make it up to them.

Her glance wandered to their daughters.

She liked Angela.  She was a good friend but Lilith was another matter.  She was always mean and sharp tongued and she especially didn't like Lucy.

Someone said it was because Lucy hadn't invited Lilith to her party, but someone else said it was because Lilith saw her laughing with her boyfriend, Nicolo, and thought that Lucy was trying to steal him for herself.

That was silly because Lucy only liked Nicolo as a friend.  He made her laugh but she didn't fancy him.

Lucy sat by the lake and idly tossed some stones into the murky water.  She listened to the plop as each one hit the surface.  She watched the ripples expanding in ever widening circles.  It was soothing.

Behind her, she heard the Pleasants leaving.  They called to their daughters that it was getting late.  Lucy did not look around.  She continued throwing the stones.  She should get home soon herself.  She didn't want to break curfew.

Suddenly there was a shove in her back.  She turned around and Lilith was standing behind her, eyes glinting and her mouth curled down.  Her parents and sister had left and so had everyone else.  There was just the two of them left at the park.

Lucy leapt to her feet just as Lilith charged at her.

Whatever was bothering Lilith was about to be resolved one way or the other.

Eesh. :o
I've always felt bad for Lilith, because it's obvious her parents favor Angela. :(
But I thought her boyfriend was Darren Dreamer? :-\

Not really but sort of  ;D  Nicolo is based on Don Lothario's father.  I researched Sim family trees and made a lot of the grandparents and parents of some of the well known sims.  I have Don's mother too (can't remember her name at the moment) but she is not in this hood.  I have some Sims 3 sims as well.  For instance, somewhere in this hood I have young versions of Cornelia and Agnes with their parents and Gunther and his mysterious sister, Frida and their parents all very much alive.  I will try to include pics if I can weave them in somehow.

Cool! How long did it take you to make all those? ;D
I think Don's mother is named Mama Lothario.

I remember one was called Mama but I renamed her to Mara.  I couldn't come at calling her Mama.  ;D

It took a while to make them all because I tend to focus on detail so I had to make certain that everyone had the right genes for their family.  I made a lot of them backwards, like Don for instance.  I made him first and then decided I wanted his parents and his grandparents so I had to fiddle around with his parents so that it would be possible for them to have a son that looked like him.   :D  It was a labor of love.  It isn't possible to make a sim look exactly how they did in TS2 so I just aimed for 'sort of like' and guessed at what traits they would have.  I did try to go for the right eye colour, skin and hair though.  For the TS3 sims like Agnes and Gunther, I gave them the faces I wanted them to have. :P

Lilith might have talked tough but Lucy easily beat her.

Oh, she didn't get away without any injuries at all.  She was missing a clump or two of hair, her face was scratched and her clothes were scuffed and torn.  She managed to get a nasty bruise on her knee as well.  Still, it felt good to sit Lilith on the ground.

She didn't have time to savour the victory though.  Red and blue flashing lights lit up the dark trees.

'The police.  Curfew.  Run for it,' Urged Lilith.  So the pair of them scampered off across the dampening grass, easily out-distancing the tubby policeman, and tore off to their respective homes.

Lucy might have known Michael would be waiting at the front gate for her.

He sighed as he made a show of consulting his watch.  He rolled his eyes at her disheveled appearance and the leaves and twigs still clinging to her hair.

'Fighting in public, like an ill-bred hooligan.'  He glared from under lowered eyebrows. 'No I don't want to know,' He threw up his hands when she started to protest and turned away from her.

'You are so close to being grounded for the rest of your life it is not funny,' He called over his shoulder as he stomped off into the house.

They are all real chidings though.  I am playing the game as I go and none of them are set-up.  I have taken a bit of artistic licence and reinterpreted some of it though.  ;D

The next evening, Lucy cooked supper for the family.  It turned out very well too and she was pleased with the compliments.  She was fast becoming the best cook in the house .

Raphael had just returned from a late evening shift at the hospital.

'So, how was work?' Lucy asked.

He didn't answer but reached out a hand to touch the scratches on her cheek.

'How's the other guy?' He grinned.

Lucy cast a nervous glance at Michael who frowned.  It might be best to let sleeping dogs lie, she thought.

Raphael just winked at her.

Before anyone could say anything more, they were interrupted by Gabriel who steamed through the front door, eyes bright and obviously busting to tell them all his news.

'Well,' He declared. 'Meet the hero of the day, the saviour of mothers-to-be,' He bowed before them, his smile stretching from ear to ear.

Today, he said, he had decided to call in on the Crumplebottoms and finalise the arrangements for their daughter's upcoming party.  They wanted to hire his band as entertainment.

Prudence Crumplebottom met him at the door.  'Poor lady. She looked ready to pop and her TV had just broken.'

'You will never believe it,' He went on. 'I was only in the door for five minutes when her face turned pale and she gasped.'

''I think I am having contractions' she said.'

'She asked me to feel her tummy.  Me?  I hardly knew the woman and, yeah, babies terrify me'.  He gave a rueful grin.

'However, I could see that one of us had to stay calm,' He told them.

'Of course.  I can't imagine that you would panic,' Raphael smirked.

'Well maybe I did a little,' He grinned sheepishly, 'Prudence was amazing though.  I couldn't believe how relaxed she was.  I drove her to the hospital as fast as I could.  Her husband was already there because he was at work.  You probably know him, Raphael.  Simon Crumplebottom.'

'He didn't seem very excited but I guess it was his third child.' Gabriel pondered for a moment.

'Anyway, I was just outside the door when Prudence showed me baby Ariana.'

'She is the cutest little thing,' He coughed and reddened, suddenly feeling a bit embarrassed to be gushing like that. 'The Crumplebottoms have named me her honorary uncle,'

The funny thing is, it really did happen that way.  He had only just met her and she went into labor.  He took her to the hospital and actually disappeared inside the hospital with her.  Poor Simon must have been most puzzled to see a strange male in the delivery suite with his wife.  Gabriel even got a 23 hour baby buff.  Not bad for five minutes work.  ;D

Both Cornelia and Agnes called around the next day to deliver a special 'thank you' note to Gabriel from their parents.  They said the baby had settled in well.

Cornelia didn't stay long.

But Agnes seemed captivated by Gabriel.  They shared a love of music, it seemed.

Lucy curled her lip.  She hoped Agnes realized that Gabriel was really old.

It certainly disrupted proceedings when he sat on the chair where she had hidden the whoopie cushion.

She had laughed until the tears ran down her face.  Even Gabriel had shrugged it off with good humour but Agnes' expression would have curdled milk.

She scowled at Lucy and muttered something about 'childish pranks' but Lucy hadn't cared.  At least she went home then.

Yes, that's Agnes.  ;D

Lucy found that worst part about being a teen is that some days nothing seems to go right.  She would wake up in the morning feeling out of sorts.

She would do stupid things like trying to prank the settee right under Gabriel's nose when he had only told her yesterday that 'enough was enough'.

Of course he got mad, and to her utter shame, she burst into tears like a baby.

Not that it stopped him from yelling at her.

Which then set Michael off.

Making Gabriel remember something else he was mad at her about

And then, when she finally joined her friends at the cafe, she let her heart rule her head and, in front of everyone including her friends from school, she gave Andy Farsley a bunch of flowers.

He looked so shocked that her heart sank and she knew she had embarrassed herself big time.  All those girls watching were going to gossip and laugh about her humiliation.

Except that there in front of everyone, he took her into his arms and gave her the biggest, most wonderful kiss ever.  Ahhh.  Her girlfriends were going to be so jealous.

Some bad days turn out ok after all.

Thank you, Simstar.

By the way, the woman in the yellow dress in the last shot is my version of Mama Lothario.  We were speaking of her earlier.  She is actually Don's grandmother, Nicolo's mother. :)

Thank you, Sims3Lover.  I have to hand the credit to the sims though.  I am mostly just following them around with the camera.  ;D
