My Elder cats had babies: is it possible or just a game bug?

Hello my fellow forum members :)
My cats are both elders and I made them "try for baby" because I wanted them to get the "partner" relationship status but at the end of it the lullaby played. At first I thought it was a game bug but after a while I got the note saying my cat was pregnant and after a few days  4 baby kittens were born. I sent 2 for adoption and kept 2 and they've now grown into adults without any issue. As this ever happened to any of you guys? Was it just a game bug?

I honestly assume it is a game bug, unless you have mods that allow elder pets to have babies, I have one that allows Elder Sim females to get pregnant, if I wanted them to be able to. I'm not sure if that expends to pet elders, as I've never looked that far in Story Progression to look. But Story Progression doesn't do anything non-included in the game pregnancies unless you activate them first. Do you use mods?

No. I didn't use any mods, so yeah it was probably just a game bug.

I'm sure elder males are still able to breed, just not elder females, similar to Sims.

In this case, I think he was talking about two elder cats.

Did one of them drink a pets young again potion or something?

Yes they were both elders and no they didn't use any potions.
