what do you mean who is the sim ? are they the same sims in all the games? will u know him!!  :D

his last name is Steel and it says that he is "unemployed"

If it's Christopher Steel you're talking about, he's a well known Sunset Valley character.  I'm pretty sure he lives alone.

Yes, it's him.  So I should keep on my trials with him then!  ;)

Christopher Steel is one of the best in town.  And yes, he lives alone.  He's a good catch!

And yes, all of our games start with the same characters in town.  We call them Townies.  But after the game starts, anything can happen because of the story progression.  Even if you have several games set in Sunset Valley, none of them will be the same.

I didn't know that the characters are known and the same for all who play. Anyways, thanks for the tips and I think I'm thankful that I'm that lucky. :D

Yes, Christopher Steel is great. One of the few Sims that would happily take out fire on your lot. Brave Sims ftw!

Ok, thanks Metro.

To everyone else, we need to refrain from using netspeak, chatspeak, abbreviations, etc.  If anyone has to ask what it is, it shouldn't be here.

You can hire a babysitter over the phone or try to leave the house, say to go work, and writing will come up saying the baby can't be left by itself call a babysitter or stay at home.

                  THEY GOT MARRIED ;)... YAY :D :D
Thanks a lot everyone for all the help, I followed your tips and my sim proposed to Christopher and they got married. :)
They moved to his house which is much larger than my sim's previous one... I'm enjoying the space, :)
but Christopher took the last name of my sim!! :D (I thought mine would take his last name because he is the man!!)
Their baby grew up to a toddler and his next birthday is coming soon also!
Now my sim has a wish to make another baby with Christopher; I don't know if I should make them try now, or if I should wait!!
what's the maximum number of children can they have?

Jerseygirl, you can only ever have 8 Sims on any residential lot in the Sims 3, but that is not to say that your couple can only have 6 kids.  You can feed your couple Ambrosia so that they can stay young and just move out the kids as they grow to YA.

The couple takes the last name of whichever one does the proposing.  And babies always take the last name of their mother.

Ok, I made them try for a baby, but I don't know the result yet.

Christopher's and their son's birthdays came on the same day and Christopher is now an elder. I don't know if men make babies after being elders or not. (So I hope my female sim is pregnant now, anyway.)

Christopher wishes to retire (he does not make good money from his work anyway), so I think iIshould allow him to retire, but how can i do that ? And can I make him work on something in home? He's not artistic, so I don't think I should make him paint or play guitar. I saw in some topics here that the Sims can work on gardening, but I don't know how!

Any sim can learn painting or guitar, it's not necessary to be artistic - the trait just helps them learn a little faster.  As for gardening, they can learn by taking a class (I think it's at the Science Centre) or by going to the library and reading a gardening book.  Once they have gardening level 1, they can plant the basic seeds (apples, tomatoes, grapes, lettuce).  As their skill level increases they can plant more things and learn to weed and fertilize their plants.  There is a lot of good information on all these skills in Carl's Sims 3 guide.

Elder male sims can become fathers, while elder female sims can't get pregnant.

If you want to have information on self-employment, check Carl's guide. There he gives perfect tips and suggestions for making extra money at home.

Men can have babies after they turn elder, but women cannot.  When they try for a baby, you will sometimes hear lullaby chimes at the end of woohoo if the attempt is successful.

To retire, Christopher just needs to use his cell phone or go to his place of business.  You'll have the retire option when you click on either.  He doesn't have to be artistic to learn painting or guitar.  He won't learn them as fast, but he'll still learn.  Gardening can be a great activity, too.  There's a ton of information about it in the Guide if you'd like to check it out.

Edit:  Drat!  Y'all beat me to it!

I'm checking it.  :)
Again, I'm loving this forum.  :D
It's very helpful, and I love that I get replies quickly.
Is there a photos section in this forum? Something like where people post photos of their gameplay, their Sims families and so on?

We don't post a lot of pictures because that's mostly considered "frivolous" posts.  Our focus here is to provide help and to make the game more interesting with challenges.  Of course, when a screenshot is helpful for a particular problem, it's posted.  However, we do have a couple of topics that are somewhat of an exception to this rule.  One is for paintings that Sims have done and the other is just for weird and funny new stuff that players encounter.  You might enjoy them.  :)

sorry for bothering so often but i have some more questions
-now that Christopher is an elder , can i help him avoid dying soon ? , i want him to live ,at least to see his son turns into a teen!
-what skills can their son practice while being a "child"  ? , he has the 'athletic" trait , how can i make him use this or where can he practice sports ?
- if they had another baby , can i put the baby and the child in the same room ?
-what happens for the children and the money if one of the parents die? and if both of them died !!?

Feed him Ambrosia

what skills can their son practice while being a "child"  ? , he has the 'athletic" trait , how can i make him use this or where can he practice sports ?

A Child cannot use treadmills or weight machines, but as soon as he hits Teen, he can do so.

if they had another baby , can i put the baby and the child in the same room ?

Not recommended. The baby will wake up anyone in the same room with the crying.

what happens for the children and the money if one of the parents die? and if both of them died !!?

If just one parent died, and the other was still in the household, things would continue and the money would not be affected at all. I'm actually unsure what would happen if a child lost both parents. But, if your oldest child is a YA by the time both parents are gone and is living in the house, then you're good. The household money just remains the same and the household continues.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this or your aware:

As toddlers your sims can play with two toys that will give them skills later in there life. The xylophone and the blocks. If the toddler finishes all 3 levels of these toys before aging up to child they can start at level 3 in Guitar and Logic.

There are also a bunch of books that toddlers can read that help them with skills as well, I think there are something like 10-12 of them. Each of these books will give the toddler a head start in certain skills later in life.

A child can learn many skills but not all. A child however can't learn, Charimsa, Athletic, or Guitar. A child can't learn Handy but if they us the block table can get a head start in these skill.

For the Athletic trait if you Sim is a child I'm sure they can go swimming which will help develop that trait. I know you can select swimming outfits for Sims aged Child, Teen, YA, Adult and Elder, so I imagine children can go swimming :)
