Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)
« on: July 05, 2014, 01:50:57 AM »
Someone please help me!

I recently bought a new Mac and downloaded and installed The Sims 3 from Origin along with the following expansion packs:
- 70's, 80's & 90's Stuff
- Diesel Stuff
- Fast Lane Stuff
- Generations
- High End Loft Stuff
- Into the Future
- Island Paradise
- Late Night
- Master Suite Stuff
- Outdoor Living Stuff
- Pets
- Seasons
- Showtime
- Supernatural
- Town Life Stuff
- University Life

At first, it came up with the message "an unknown error occurred" and it quit the game (I never even got any play time). So I bypassed the launcher, accessing the game from TS3W.exe.

However, now the message "Unable to start game. Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb) pops up, and the game automatically quits. I have looked around on the Internet and plenty of other people have had this problem, but I can only find solutions for Windows, and as previously stated, I bought a Mac.

Can someone please help me? I am on my winter semester break and really want to play this!

Also, I have downloaded the 1.67 Superpatch and applied it.

Thanks,

Unfortunately Mac computers and Sims 3 don't seem to like each other very much.

Here's a link to a website that is full of tips and good advice for Mac users who want to play this game. Hopefully you can find some answers there.

I know nothing of MAC because I use a windows computer, but I found this in the EA answers. If I find anything else I'll edit the post here.

Also may I ask are all your eps and sps on Origin? Do you have the Discs?
