Not Able To Enter Buy/Build Mode After Moving!!

Two of my sims were frozen (mother teaching son to talk) and the only thing I found that fixed this was getting the family to move house.
After doing this I can't seem to get into buy or build mode. It tells me I can't do so while in the process of moving, but I've waited almost a week now!
It wouldn't be such a problem if I didn't have a toddler, but I at least need to access a crib for him to sleep in!!

Plus, it won't let me call for sevices, eg. a babysitter when my sims are at work.

I suggest starting a new game with the same family, if you create a new save you will get the three options to
 Create Sims
 Move in Sims
 Select Household

If you select Move in Sims it opens a box, which stores copies of all famillies you have ever made, unless you delete them from there.

Thanks for the suggestion, but none of the families I've created seem to be there? Just the default ones...

What about other saved games? Have you checked whether other saved games have the same problem? If you still have problems then I suggest Re-Installing the game.

You should probably have just reset the Sims:

If resetting the Sims doesn't help, try restoring your previous saved backup of the game from the instructions in this thread.  I'm thinking if you can get back the original game where they were stuck, you can try resetting them at that point.

Yes PJSim you're right I should've just done that. If only I had known that trick sooner!

Looks like it's too late to reset my sims, and I've accidentally saved since all this happened (force of habit) so that didn't work either. Looks like the Harris Legacy ends here as my sims (hubbie and wife) can't interact with other sims, not even each other, only their toddler!

The same thing happened to me. You need to wait until the message comes up

"your stuff has been moved to family inventory" then it usually works.

Sometimes it takes a while for the family to finish moving.  Often when I get that message it just means that I need to wait for them to finish moving in, and then once they do everything works fine.
