Invisible Sim

A couple of days ago I sent my sim to france for the first time and on arrival all that appeared was the plumbob, and thought bubbles coming from the ground. I can't click on him, and I've restarted, resetSim, sent him back home, and done everything else I could think of, but he still won't show up, even when his family does. I would hate to restart, because I've perfected this sim to, well, perfection in all skills and wishes. Help please!!

If it doesn't help when you restart the game, you've probably got a fatal bug.  I would suggest you go back to a previous save before this happened.
