How to max out 2 career paths in one branch?

I just maxed out the entertainer career-Musician, but I wanted to try and switch to the comedian career but the lowest Level I got was the jingle jammer. Is there a way to switch or not? Please and thank you all!

My understanding is that there is no way to do this. Once a branch has been chosen the other branch is locked for that one sim. However there was some talk about this being possible by using the cheats to demote your sim to one level below the level where sims have to choose. Save your game before trying this so that you can quit without saving if it does not work.

Doing this at jingle jammer level (lowest in Musician) causes the sim to get fired, not demoted further. Happens with all branches' lowest level.

Yeah, this is a weird issue as I have never been able to have a sim change branches ever and yet someone was able to with the chef career (I think it was), trouble is I can't find the thread where this was discussed!
