The Race to Immortality

Goal
Congrats! You're now officially an Adult. So, are you going to have the maturity to look ahead to the twilight of your life and welcome Grim with open arms? Of course not! You're going to make a beeline to preparing some Ambrosia to keep Grim from making an unwelcome visit.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • Create one Adult Human or Alien Sim. Vampires are not allowed. We're specifically mentioning vampires as banned in this challenge because of their effect on lifespan. IMPORTANT...
  • ANYTHING that increases lifespan is banned in this challenge. The team is not providing an exhaustive list of these things. So, be careful and PM us if you are unsure.
  • You are allowed to use the Buydebug cheat for the sole purpose of purchasing a satellite to prevent abductions.
  • No adding to the household.
  • The Science career is banned.
  • The Fortune Aspirations are banned.
  • This challenge ends when your Sim has made and eaten Ambrosia. In the event you did not achieve this before Grim visits you, then post your score as DNF.

Scoring

Scoring is the total game minutes played in order to make and eat Ambrosia.

Minutes — When your Sim has finally made and eaten Ambrosia, then pause your game and note their age -- you need to keep track of the weeks and days played as well as the hour and minutes on the game clock. Plug in all the necessary info into Lena's spreadsheet and it will calculate the total minutes that you needed to finish.

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, ratchie, LenaLJ, Trip, and MarianT) for clarifications. Thanks.

And the Winner is...
After this event has closed everyone is encouraged to discuss how they approached the event, but the winner especially is expected to do so in detail.

Very Important -- remember to make an Adult in CAS at the get-go, not the typical YA with nearly all challenges.

I changed...

  • This challenge ends when your Elder Sim has made and eaten Ambrosia. In the event you did not achieve this before Grim visits you, then post your score as DNF.

to...

because some players may well indeed finish before turning Elder.

DNF :'(

Since I've completed enough challenges, will this score be dropped?  Have any of my scores already been dropped?

Oh, no. :( And yes, I always drop lowest scores for anyone who has completed at least 10 events, so unless there's another last place event for you, then this one would be the one I dropped.

Yes, it's on short lifespan. All the challenges have been this year.

Norma Sawyer finished her Ambrosia on Friday of week 1 at 11.09 am for a total of 7389 minutes.  And I'm going to enjoy my first ever top spot for as long as it lasts :).
