Sims disappear and get stuck?

So I have been playing for awhile and on one family after birth the sim couldn't move and then disappeared =\ so I started a new game and the same thing happened! Is there anyway to fix this?

Have you tried the resetsim (sims name). That usually puts them in a safe place.

Correction, it sends them back home to where they're unstuck :)
