Trouble with latest update

Hello all!  I have a problem updating the latest version of my game.  It is telling me that it cannot be completed because "QtCore4.dll" is missing, and I need to reinstall the base game.  Is there a way to install just what I need without loosing all my progress?  Or is there a way to save my sim before I reinstall my game?  Thanks and happy simming. :)

You need to re-install the Download Manager from the technical thread on the official Sims 3 site.  That should cure your problem

If you do end up reinstalling the game, be sure to check out our Technical Help board.  You'll find threads about how to save your game files and some extra steps to help make sure you've got a good clean install.
