I just created a couple designated to be emperor of evil and master thief.

After they choose a branch EVERY time they go to work they got interrupted by the police and went to jail. Now their performance meter is in the red and I cant think of anything to do.

If someone had this problem and solved it somehow I would really appreciate your help.

And that's why workaholic is nearly a must-have trait for the criminal career, all hail work-from-home.
The vacationer LTR is also a good addition.

Still, seems like a stroke of bad luck. Eventually (hopefully soon) it should end.

I have a family with the Husband in that career and I think he's been to jail twice and he's almost to level 10. It could just be a glitch maybe with your family? Maybe you could try to quit the job and then get back into the career. I know it'd be a bit tedious to have to start a job all over but it might help?

Whenever I have done these particular lifetime wishes I only remember getting sent to jail maybe two or three times.

I have had that too, some games do that, others do not.  I guess it is just random, but TGBlank is right, workaholic seems to work out better.  I have gone through the whole career with being arrested only once, others almost every other day.  Hang in there and good luck.
