How to record building a house?

Hey I'm new, sort of, I've been lurking around on this site for a long time now.


I do not know how to use the video capture tool. I know you click the little camera and it records, but whats next? Where is the video? How do I access it and edit it?

I see some people on youtube post time lapse videos of them building houses like this guy,        http://youtu.be/JRLrgrXaxN8

How do I do that? Thanks.

 I have not gone into using the video feature myself, but a few people here have I think. Have you seen the section of the forum about video editing and such? You can find it here..

Ah nevermind! I actually figured it out now. I will be posting a house build video in the building and construction section sometime tonight or tomorrow.

The sims 3 has provided us a tool in the game to capture pictures, and record the video (press C to capture picture, and V to record video). But its (video) quality is very low (even when you set it to max, it still low). You can use that tool to record the vids. And when you're done, you can find your video at: \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Recorded Videos\

Personally, I think you should use this program for a better quality video. It's called FRAPS. It's a good tool for gaming that show us the fps (frames per second), capture pictures, and of course, record videos on high quality when playing. You can find this program at this site: http://www.fraps.com/download.php

Good tip Yarakisagoa. I have to add to this that if you are going to record with a external program you have to hit Tab ingame to      r.

Thanks everyone, I did figure out how to record my house builds, but like Yarakisagoa said, it is very low quality. Thanks for the link and I will try it out.
