A Question about Thief Career sims

I was wondering, what happens if the Sim gets caught stealing stuff? [IE: Arrested by the police]

I was thinking of making a Sim in the Thief branch that happens to be a single parent.

If a kleptomaniac gets caught stealing stuff, the owner of the house may ask them to leave for being rude.  That's the only real consequence for finding things that are not yet lost.

However, Sims in the criminal career have a chance to get arrested during their work shift.  Getting arrested impacts job performance (because you're missing work) and forces you to stay at the police station for somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-8 hours.  Your sim will leave the police station tired, hungry and possibly with an incredibly full bladder.

I only mention the latter because kleptos tend to do well in the criminal career.

As Hosfac said, they can get arrested at work. However, if your  single parent with young ones, I assume you would be hiriing a babysitter before leaving to work. Therefore, the babysitter will stay until your sim gets out of jail.
