Butler Isn't Showing Up

I don't know if this is because of the latest buggy patches or Showtime or whatever, but I called a butler and he/she hasn't shown up. It has been over 8 hours and when I try and call another it won't let me because apparently I have to fire the one that is already working there. But there is no butler! I would reset the whole neighborhood but my computer is very bad and the one time I did try that the game froze to the point that I had to hit the power button. Can anyone help me please?

Did you choose a bed for the butler? If so, try unsetting the bed and see if you can call again.

I have an extra bed ready, but there is no option to set it to the butler's bed.

If there is no option to set the bed you technically have no butler, or he she has a bed somewhere else.
Do you perhaps have World Adventures installed? Because that may mean your butler is half mummy, which for some reason makes them walk downtown, instead of at your place.
Try searching the city. He must be there somewhere.
