Which is your favourite Sims 3 Neighbourhood/World so far?Vote and Discuss here.

Do you prefer the tranquility and warm neighbourly feel of Sunset Valley and Twinbrook, the non stop action and activity of Bridgeport and Starlight Shores or the animal orientated world of Appaloosa Plains?
If you want to start a discussion about the pros and cons of each, then so be it. However, try to keep the genereal chit-chat and such in here.

I'm definitely a fan of Twinbrook, and I wish I could put it concisely, but I can't.

I first fell in love with the place for its scenery. Sunset Valley is a good town for building, but the constant cheerful greenery got boring quickly. Here was Twinbrook: a land of dark swamps, dead trees, and native land of the fog emitter. I love my worlds to look somewhat sinister like Twinbrook is. I sometimes just hang around to take screenshots of the scenery; the sunset over the rivers, nighttime fog over the swamps, ghosts rising out of their graves over the fog of the cemetery.

It was also the first town where I didn't have the urge to annihilate all the pre-mades. Even though my first play of Twinbrook involved clearing out everything, I ended up saving some families. They felt real to me. Even the rich families, such as the Bakers, the Pidgins, and the Rackets have a human air to them. Eventually, I kept everyone. Each sim seems to be crafted to feel like someone you might know, yet still keeping the exaggerated, wacky feel of The Sims. Sometimes you just have to play them to realize that the developers took pains to flesh out everyone in some way.

Lastly, I hate sims that look generic, and the natives of Twinbrook are just the opposite. Some sliders go to their extremes, and while the result isn't visually pleasing, it keeps the gene pool strange and strong. Plus, there's only a couple sims there that are ugly beyond all hope.

For me, it's Riverview. I love the sims, I love the area, it has balanced spawners and some nice rich sims for dynasties, no lag bloat for me and it's easy to place and build beautiful homes there.

I use Sunset Valley the most since its easily run on my computer and I'm familiar with the townies and where everything is. However I also really like Appaloosa Plains, my legacy is set there and it has a lot of pretty scenery and color that I like.  ;D

Bridgeport.  For some reason, I really like apartments in the Sims.  In real life, not so much.

I'm going to go for Riverview. It's well-planned with lots of great sims, and it's a happy medium between Twinbrook and Sunset Valley, my other favourites. Bridgeport is also lovely though.

I've tried all the ones I have (everything except Lunar Lakes and Lucky Palms), but I keep coming back to Sunset Valley.  Mostly this is because I like the centralized layout, so my Sims don't have to waste a lot of time going from one place to another.  Also I like to give my Sims homes with the Beautiful Vista moodlet, and Sunset Valley seems to have more of those lots.

Lucky Palms. Sooo much room to build and the scenery isn't bad either.

I like the centrality and smallness of AP. My favourite scenery though would have to be HS. It's just beautiful. The rabbit holes that came with LL are just awesome, and if it weren't considered CC I'd make the science facility the same as all the rest - perfect for placing in small shells. If challenge rules get made a little more lax in the future to something like 'nothing that gives a player an advantage' I'd do that. I haven't played SS or LP yet, so I'm yet to see their advantages. SV is a good backup, since I know the sims and the spawners so well - although I'm getting that way with all the other towns now too. Nothing like a challenge tournament to make you branch out!

I must say I'm a fan of Sunset Valley. Perhaps it's because I am most familiar with it and know the residents there the best. Maybe if I spent more time playing the other neighborhoods (I do own all of them), I might change my mind.

I do enjoy Twinbrook though because of all the mystery surrounding it and how the Sims 3 community has come up with all of their ideas.

I really like Sunset Valley but for me the only down side is that its a bit small for me, I perfer larger maps so that I have plenty of choice in what area my sims will live.
I went for Hidden Springs, simply because of the scenery and its where my current game takes place, if we had multipule choice I would have also chosen Bridgeport and/or Lunar Lakes because they are both very differant and individual neigbourhoods.

Indeed. I also wish Sunset Valley was bigger.. or at least had more places to realistically place lots.

I still love it, though!

Yes, I agree with you there. There is no realistic place to put lots later on.
My favourite would be Sunset Valley. I love the neighbourhood, I wish I could live there personally. But the only other towns I have are Riverview and Twinbrook. I agree with Schipperke about the centralized layout of SV.
I just got Ambitions, so I haven't really played it much yet. The only problem is that most of the starter homes in Twinbrook is in the swamp area, and it's really far away from everything, except for the fishing spot and the small junkyard.

I've played Sunset Valley the most so I am most accustomed to it. However I love how pretty Starlight Shores is but prefer the quiet sedate lifestyle of Appaloosa Plains. I've not played the others yet, the only Worlds I don't have are Barnacle Bay or Hidden Springs. So once I've played the other neighbourhoods more I'd be able to more fully answer, for now it's Sunset Valley for its familiarity (despite annoying slopes for lot placement!)

Love. Life. Beautifully.

Bridgeport. I like the townies and I like the big city feel. I have revamped Bridgeport and have Showtime venues, a casino, the equestrian lots. I increased the size of the small one bedroom houses; but, still kept it affordable for townies and have enough space to place an additional 10 houses for when my sims kids grow up. No routing issues, the townies are out at venues each evening, so my sim picks and choses where to go for socializing.

I like Appaloosa Plains the best because while it still has a cozy and warm feeling like Sunset Valley it is also different and interesting. SV just bores me after a while.

I've tried every town apart from Starlight Shores and Lucky Palms, but I'm getting both Showtime and LP for my birthday so I will eventually. :)

Out of everything else, Hidden Springs is my favourite. It strikes me as a place with a sort of cold climate, like maybe one of the Scandinavian countries or maybe even Scotland, where I live, but a very pretty part. I've never been one who liked nature or the log-cabin sort of thing in real life and I wasn't expecting to like it in the sims, but I do. It's just so lovely there. I know there are problems with lag later on in generations, but I know some games have been able to escape it and hopefully my dynasty will be one of them.

Second favourite is maybe Bridgeport, although I feel that I may love Starlight Shores as much as I do Bridgeport when I get it. I love cities in real life and although BP is very industrial and dreary looking in the day, I kind of like that for some reason. The night is my favourite, because it gets all lit up and looks awesome.

Lunar Lakes comes a close third, just because I think the sci-fi thing was done so well and I especially love the little craters at the top where all the scenery and the bright blue ponds are. Lunar Lakes ties with Twinbrook though. I kind of feel that it's only possible to get the best out of Twinbrook's scenery if you have quite good graphics settings, like mostly on high. I don't know why, I just kind of think that all the grungy look of it really comes out best on those settings. TB is beautiful, and I like that the townies are "different" looking.

I've got my legacy in SV and they'll move to another town in a couple of generations but I wish it'd just come faster because I am so bored of SV now. It just doesn't have the charm that any of the other towns do and I know so many townies there that it feels repetitive. I dislike it when I know all the townies, I like to be surprised when finding out someone's traits and when making friends.

Hey Fez! After doing your story in Bridgeport, you may change your mind. Played Starlight Shores for awhile, but, found the townies to be without much character. Hidden Springs, bored me to death. I like the night life in Bridgeport. Clubs are always full, people go to parks, the clubs and bars. Other towns, they seem to go home and to bed at 9pm. Even young adults?!
My casino in Bridgeport is hopping. People are at various venues. My sim just picks where she wants to go according to who is where (Twallan's mod with map tags as to where everyone is). She goes home at 4am after spending hours partying with people.

For me, the best world for a young adult has to be Bridgeport, due to it's vibrancy and it's bustling nightlife. There is a wide variety of other young adults there for my Sims to mingle with and make friends and girlfriends/boyfriends. I also like the apartment life. However, then as my Sims moves into their Adult life stage, I like to move with their partners to sleepier towns where they can raise their children and grow old. Usually this town is either Twinbrook or Appaloosa Plains. I find that there is a lot of character about Twinbrook and its people so it is for this reason that I have voted for it. Appaloosa has its downfalls in that is small and a bit too animal orientated.  Sunset Valley can often become boring and repetitive so I have gotten sick of it. I have all the EPs but no extra towns and I suppose Hidden Springs would also be an interesting world judging by yere opinions.

My personal favourite town is Twinbrook. Visually-speaking, I like the swampy feel. Practically-speaking, I like that most of the lots are fairly close to town square. (The Dynasty Lot is amazing compared to, say, Sunset Valley) I even like some of the Sims that live in Twinbrook. (Jenni Jones-Brown and the Curiouses in particular) Twinbrook was the home of my longest-lasting family, it was the home of my Dynasty, and will always be a special town to my heart.

I do look forward to eventually getting Lucky Palms, however. The desert vibe is cool, and Darren Dreamer is awesome.

However, then as my Sims moves into their Adult life stage, I like to move with their partners to sleepier towns where they can raise their children and grow old.

Since I revamped Bridgeport, there is room for my extended family. I find the sleepy towns to be toooo sleepy. If my sim wants to stay at home and garden, or whatever, she can. Presently she lives in a penthouse. I have a space reserved for her horse ranch, and once her child becomes old enough, she will move to the ranch and leave the penthouse to her child. The child's offspring has a space reserved for their family home. I have revamped the town to have enough homes for my sim's expanding family and a few townies.

Just a note: I edited some penthouses to be able to handle families and edited other houses to allow more space. I deleted the big park, which left room for many houses. I got rid of the ridiculously large school, and put in a combination school and stadium. My hospital is a combination hospital and science lab. This gave me a lot of extra spaces for housing. I'll never abandon Bridgeport.

There is something in every world to love. I especially like Lucky Palms because it is very true to life as a desert turned casino city! But if I have to make a choice I choose Sunset Valley as my favorite. I guess I think of it as home.
