So what has changed for vamps?

So far I believe the only changes are the fact that you can make them in CAS, their Fangs and Tattoos are unlocked in CAS. In game however the only changes seem to be some new LTHRs.

You can hypotize Sims as well. Plus there is a way to go out in the sun unharmed. I haven't played with vampires much since I got Supernatural, when I find out more I'll make sure to post the info.

I think it makes it easier to drink plasma from Sims.

That's what I'm saying, it doesn't seem to work. I've tried it with different kinds of sims, humans, fairies, witches etc, and they all just get disgusted and reject the drink.

I'm gonna do a quick trial on some other vampires and see what happens. Could just be the one I'm using. Which is SimGuruArgus' Roman :-)

Did they make the vampires a lot like werewolves, fairies and witches where you now have to unlock some of their skills in order for them to be more effective?  Or was it just the new ones that have to do that?

I don't think so, no one seems to have mentioned it. And plus not sure how they would gain XP so to speak. Just tried with a different vamp and it's not working either. Tried on two humans, nothing.

The way it works for a werewolf is you have to do werewolf things to gain skill level.  The same for a witch where they need to use their magic.  My fairy needed to do fairy things so maybe as you do more and more vampire things you'll notice if it works.  I may just go start a vampire now just to see if my guy can do anything.   I like SimGuruArgus' vamp too so I may try him to see if that's it.    I'll let you know.

Just tried with a brand new vampire in moonlight falls and still nothing. Going to have one last try in sunset valley with a new vampire and then I'm going to give up haha.

Maybe if that doesn't work I'll try hunting a lot with my first vampire and see if he gets any levels. Though my other sims didn't take too long to get to their first level.

I just played for a few moments in the house I spoke of earlier.   I had my vampire hypnotize my werewolf who got a moodlet that last for an hour.  He became dazed and didn't know what to do with himself.  I haven't gained any vampire "levels" but I had fun doing the intimidate and show off teeth interactions.

Yeah I can do all that, I just don't see what the point of the hypnotic gaze is.... I hunted with my vampire for a long time, over and over again, no levels gained or anything, and eventually he couldn't hunt anymore because he already had a target.

Looking with MasterController I didn't see a hidden skill for vampires. Just the Witches (Spell Casting), Werewolves (Lycantharopy)and Fairies (Fairy Magic).

Hmmmm.

I wonder if they took the feature out then. Because it was mentioned more than once that the hypnotic gaze would convince strangers that letting a vampire drink their plasma was a good idea. But it doesn't seem to be working.

So what has changed for vamps?
New interactions; one is an extremely funny one called "Enthuse about Plasma" or something, and if a Vampire sim does that to ANOTHER Vampire, they toast Plasma boxes.
Others that I can't remember yet: I don't get the game until tomorrow, but I've seen a million reviews, guides, photos, walkthroughs, and the like.  :D
The Sunscreen spell so Vamps can go outside (side effect is sparkly Edward Cullens  :o) and better looking vampires.

One of the things I like that they can do is intemidate people.  It's so funny to watch!  They'll distract them and then do what seems to be a mixture of a roar and a hiss.  They'll also run around the sim...Ninja style!  I think they also got a graphics upgrade, if you look closely you can see some veins on their face.
Edit: I fixed the word veins, oh well, now I know what I got wrong for those sentences I had to write.

It is, It's under the costume makeup. There is two different types. One coming from the temples and around the eyes and one covering most of the face.

Quick question about the new vamps. How can they turn people now? I tried and tried and there is no option to turn the other person. I've even used the CAS cheat to make them a vamp, than tried again and there is no option. Also, I had 2 vampires that had triplets, and none of them were vampires. What's up with that?

The 2 vampires were vampires before the installation of SN.

I don't know what it is with the vampires; but, my sim lives with one and is romantically involved with him and she has a permanent "being hunted" moodlet whenever he is home.

he needs to 'admit to being a vampire'. After he does that, her 'being hunted' thing should go away. In fact, my fairy that lives with a vampire keeps wanting to meet one and befriend one...

I'm sorry...it's 'confess' to being a vampire. Mike did it a little early on and Sue thought he was 'awkward' but it still did the trick. That interaction doesn't show up again and she doesn't worry about being hunted. Also, with the 'Ask to be protected' (which I think is super romantic and adorable) she doesn't get the 'hunted' moodlet when she is out, either...Moonlight Falls can be a dangerous place for a fairy!

My witch lives with the vampire, a werewolf and a fairy. They all vowed to protect her; but, when the zombies came, she was the one doing the protection. She cured the zombies and saved everyoone.

The fangs are an accessory, so they are found in the accessory tab. Now I'm not sure whether you can actually customize their colour or not.

One thing I've noticed is the fact the longer your Sim is a vampire the faster they gain skills, so now I always start with a child vampire to get all the skills.

I changed my sim to a vamp to have more of a chance to have vamp babies with her husband, but now I want to change her back to normal so I went to the science lab and got a potion but every time I try to get her to drink it, she just freezes with it in her hands and I have to reset her to do anything.

Before Supernatural, I had my sim become a vamp to increase her skills. But, with elixirs, she not only doesn't have to become a vamp, but she can make them human. Vampires are a thing of the past, in my mind. Witches rule!

When it comes to vampires. I don't really like them, because they have such long lifespan.
I enjoyed the fact that I can spend more time with my Sims in this state but it's kinda sad somehow when see another family members already died. I do love the interactions that they have. They are unique.

Not much to say.

I guess that I must spend more time with vampires.

There is an interaction they use called Confess to Watching Sleep. That's... creepy. I know it's inspired by Twilight, but I found that aspect of twilight creepy as well.

Any time I've had a sim use the 'watch you sleep' interaction their relationship takes a negative hit! At the best it seems to be neutral.
I find the longevity of vamps a bit tiring but I totally agree that their interactions are really unique and I find them quite fun to play. I love it when you 'hunt' and then call the hunted person to you so you can feed, the 50+ moodlet is great.

You can purchase the reward: 'Immortal' which froze my vampire to young adult and can go out to the sun and she sparkles! When she goes out to the sun, she gets a mood let called: Sparkly and gives her a 20 mood let boost :)
